Nicchia — named after the late 19th-century Countess of Castiglione whose portrait graces the label — is the quintessential Lambrusco di Modena: frizzante, medium-sweet, and irresistibly food-friendly, with the bright acidity and low alcohol (8.5% ABV) that make it one of Italy's most versatile and enjoyable wines.
Full ruby-red color with a lively frizzante sparkle. Fruity and fragrant on the nose with notes of black plum, cherry, and currants. A touch of sweetness on the palate is beautifully balanced by bright acidity, leading to a clean, lingering finish. Best enjoyed with a slight chill.

Bart Hopkins writes: Ampeleia Estate Unlitro is a light, earthy, natural blend of Alicante (Grenache), Mourvedre, Carignano, Sangiovese and Alicante Bouschet from the Tuscan Coast made by Biodynamic wine grower Elisabetta Foradori. The Ampeleia Estate consists of 150 hectares of which 35 are planted to vines and the remainder to wheat, legumes, vegetables, olive groves, woodlands and animals. This vivacious red, which boasts a modest 12% alcohol, sees no oak during production, keeping it agile, light on its feet and almost too easily quaffable.
Aromas of forest flowers, strawberry blossoms, earthy blood plums and delicate spices open up on the nose with crisp, peppery fruit refreshing the palate complimented by invigorating acidity and gentle tannins on the finish.
Not a trace of heaviness, just a pure, natural expression of organic grape growing and harmonious winemaking done with lots of love.
Serve chilled, pour generously, and pair it with just about anything!
To bring on the table a one-litre flask is an ancient tradition, and a symbol of conviviality. Hence the name Unlitro, a bottle whose shape and size recall the joy and carefreeness of being together.
This is a wine that comes from our youngest vineyard, the closest to the sea; from a blend of Alicante Nero, Mourvèdre, Sangiovese and Alicante Bouschet. It's a wine that testifies to our desire to express the territory in a more gentle and immediate way, without losing the character of a classic Tuscan wine.
But Unlitro is more than that: it is also a project created to bring together the forces of Tuscan winemakers closest to the values of Ampeleia and support them in the development of organic methods which combines respect and quality.
Varietals - Grenache, Cannonau, Garnacha, Carignano, Mourvedre, Sangiovese, Alicante Bouschet.

Costera shows the typicity of the Cannonau grape with flavors of very ripe strawberries, black cherries, herbs, and spices. The warmth and intense sunlight of southern Sardinia can be seen and felt in the wine with unexpectedly deep color and fullness on the palate. French oak barriques provide rounded tannins and flavors of vanilla.
Meat cooked over an open flame is an artform in Sardinia and specialties such as spit-roasted suckling pig or lamb seem perfect for the rich and complex flavors of Cannonau.
Vinous Eric Guido writes 89 Points | The 2022 Cannonau di Sardegna Costera greets the senses with a minty freshness before giving way to nuances of citrus-laced blackberry and spice scents. It opens with a balanced inner sweetness and ripe black fruit tones that swirl across a stream of lively acidity. Soft and enveloping, the 2022 finishes pleasantly dry with medium length, leaving violet inner florals to fade slowly. This represents fantastic value and is a perfect introduction to the Argiolas portfolio.
Altesino's Brunello di Montalcino is a benchmark expression of Sangiovese Grosso from one of Tuscany's most storied estates. Brilliant ruby tending toward garnet with age, it opens with an intense, refined bouquet of sweet violet, tobacco, chocolate, wild berries, and vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied and well-structured, with firm yet balanced tannins and exceptional aging potential.
The first wine to receive Italy's DOCG appellation, Brunello di Montalcino is the ultimate ambassador of Italian fine wine. This 375ml half bottle is ideal for an intimate pairing or a first look at a cellar-worthy vintage.
Pairs beautifully with braised meats, wild boar, aged pecorino, truffles, and hearty Tuscan cuisine.
James Suckling 95 Points | A lively Brunello with aromas of plums, ripe cherries, cedar and teak that follow through to a medium body with fine tannins and a crisp finish. Crunchy and linear. Lovely energy at the end. Drink or hold.
Vinous 93 Points | Remarkably fresh and fruit-forward, with a core of tantalizing acidity elevating depths of ripe red and blue fruits. Mixes violet and lavender tones before settling on stemmed wild strawberries. Finishes with staining length and edgy tannins, leaving a raspberry concentration and nuances of autumnal spice.
Robert Parker 93 Points | An especially graceful wine with tart fruit, clean mineral lines and a mid-weight approach. The young tannins are nearly fully approachable, and the wine ends with dryness and ample freshness.
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Points | Medium ruby hue with aromas of licorice, dried red flowers, red cherry, and dusty earth. Medium-bodied with fine tannins, approachable with a delicate nature and fresh acidity. Notes of ripe raspberry, blood orange, and tea leaf.
Wine Spectator 92 Points | Rich and fruity, evoking plum, cherry, iron, tobacco and eucalyptus flavors. A bit more flesh to offset the dusty tannins, with a lingering, fresh finish.
Decanter 92 Points | Light yet bright in colour with an immediately attractive nose of raspberry and tarragon. Linear and direct, the chiselled palate offers mineral intrigue with an expansive juiciness. Dainty tannins are almost an afterthought, but acidity will carry this midweight, balanced charmer.
Estate director Axel Heinz called 2020 ‘a classic Ornellaia,’ selecting ‘La Proporzione’ (proportion) as the theme to describe its character. The blend — 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot — marks a return to a more typical composition. Raised in 70% new French oak for 18 months, then 12 months in bottle prior to release. Fine-grained and beautifully textured, with finely integrated tannins supporting a concentration of black fruits lightened by red berries. Aromas of black cherry, liquorice, dark chocolate, cedar, and damp earth, with menthol and balsamic streaks imparting freshness. A stony, salty finish. Tight and moreish in its youth — best from 2026 through 2045.
Villa di Capezzana’s Barco Reale di Carmignano is often called the ‘little brother’ to the estate’s prestigious Carmignano DOCG — offering a more accessible, youthful entry into one of Tuscany’s most historic and unique wine regions. A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Canaiolo, the 2022 is dusty and floral with autumnal spices, cedar shavings, Tuscan dust, and dried strawberries. Soft-textured and supple on the palate with mineral-tinged red berry fruits and a web of fine tannins. Finishes with hints of orange citrus and a tart cherry twang.
Icardi is a certified organic estate in Piedmont’s Barolo zone, led by a woman winemaker — a rare and celebrated distinction in this traditionally male-dominated appellation. The Parej is their single-vineyard Barolo, made from 100% Nebbiolo grown on the estate’s organic vineyards. Roasted cherries, warmed clove, star anise, and dried floral hints rise from the glass as the wine opens. Mouthfilling on the palate with wild berries — fresh, dried, and preserved — combined with oak spice and superfine tannins. Dense and compact with plum, cherry, leather, forest floor, and tar. Well-balanced with a lingering finish. Best from 2027 through 2042.

Aged in large traditional botte, the wine is open-knit in texture and expressive from the outset. Ruby red with orange reflections. An intense bouquet of dried cherries, dried roses, licorice, mint, leather, tobacco, violet, and tar. Castello di Ama, named Vinous Winery of the Year 2025 by Antonio Galloni, is one of Chianti Classico’s most celebrated estates. The Ama Chianti Classico is their benchmark bottling — a wine of fragrance, harmony, and elegance. Bright ruby red with aromas of violet, redcurrant, cherries, and strawberries. Fragrant and harmonic on the palate with well-balanced fruity notes, polished tannins, and fresh acidity. Voluptuous and expressive, it captures all the elegance of the estate’s wines.
The Chianti Classico Riserva is central to Badia a Coltibuono’s vision and its deep relationship with place and history. Using the traditional blend of Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo, and Ciliegiolo — propagated by massal selection — has always been the backbone of the wine. Modern techniques such as gravity vinification bring forth the best expression of the fruit, while traditional approaches — indigenous yeast fermentation and aging in oak casks rather than barriques — are central to its authenticity. The winery’s long-established certified organic practices are fundamental to the truly unique character of the grapes.
Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo.
Harvested from Italy's premier regions for the cultivation of Pinot Grigio, the grapes are vinified in stainless steel and released soon after the vintage to preserve the integrity of the fruit and maintain the naturally fresh character of the variety.
Alverdi Pinot Grigio is an excellent aperitif. A fresh, floral bouquet with notes of acacia flowers, this dry white wine is well-balanced with lively white fruit flavors.

Borgoforte is a small village in the middle of our Estate that proved too strong to conquer
A strong village. Like our new red wines, it symbolizes the resilient and charming character of the Tuscans.
This wine is made in the “Super – Tuscan” style by adding Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes to the classical grape of Tuscany, Sangiovese.
Each year we add selected wines to the blend to bring subtle complexity and richness without losing the flavor of the traditional wines of Tuscany. Grapes picked at optimum ripeness ensure a wine which expresses itself in its ripe blackfruit components and full body. A true reflection of flavours which are a marriage of our soils under the Tuscan sun. For smooth body and elegance, the wine is aged in small oak barrels. We enthusiastically recommend this wine with pasta, red meats and game of any kinds.
Blend: Sangiovese 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon 40%, Merlot 10%.
Vineyards: Planted from 1991 to 1995.

Vinous 90 Points | This is juicy in style and remarkably pure, with a subtle tinge of minerality and vividly ripe cherry-berry fruit notes that flow across a stream of fresh acidity. It tapers off crisp and only gently tannic yet poised with medium length. This is fantastic for the difficult 2023 vintage and not your typical Poliziano Rosso, with just 50% of production and 100% Sangiovese.
Points Wine Spectator | Iodine, dried fig and roasted almond notes leap from the glass in this finely balanced and creamy Marsala, in a dry style. Hints of singed orange peel and ground clove linger on the finish.
Amber in color with toffee, nutty aromas. On the palate this wine is rich and smooth with intense dry fruit flavors.
Can be enjoyed at room temperature as an aperitif or well chilled as an accompaniment to parmesan, prosciutto or pizza. Winemaker Description.
Arianna Occhipinti is one of Italy’s most celebrated natural winemakers — niece of Giusto Occhipinti of the legendary COS estate, and a force of nature in her own right. Her Il Frappato Terre Siciliane 2023 comes from certified-organic parcels of 40-year-old vines on red-sandy limestone soils in Vittoria, fermented with wild yeasts, macerated 20–30 days, and aged 18 months in 30% large Slavonian oak and 70% concrete. Light, energetic, chillable, and deeply personal.
Occhipinti Il Frappato Terre Siciliane 2023 750ml
“Frappato was born from my childhood dream of making a wine that tastes like the land I work, the air I breathe, and my own thoughts. It is tart, sanguine and elegant. It is Vittoria and the Iblei mountains. It is the wine that most resembles me — courageous, original and rebellious.”
— Arianna Occhipinti

Few wines in the world carry the legacy and prestige of Tignanello. Created by Marchese Antinori in 1971, it was the wine that rewrote the rules of Italian winemaking — the first Sangiovese-based wine to be aged in small French oak barriques, and the first to blend Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The 2022 vintage is a stunning expression of this storied wine: concentrated and velvety, yet precise and energetic, with the hallmark Tignanello tension that rewards both immediate pleasure and long cellaring.
Marchese Antinori Tignanello Toscana 2022 750ml
The 2022 Tignanello is a blend of 78% Sangiovese, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Cabernet Franc, sourced exclusively from the Tignanello estate vineyard in the Antinori hills. The wine is aged in French oak barriques for approximately 12 months, followed by further bottle aging before release. The result is a wine of extraordinary depth and elegance — dark fruit, floral lift, mineral precision, and the long, structured finish that has made Tignanello one of Italy's most collectible wines.
A wine built for the table — exceptional with bistecca alla Fiorentina, braised lamb, wild boar ragù, aged Pecorino, truffle risotto, and slow-roasted beef.
James Suckling 92 Points | Aromas of pears and peaches with white flowers and hints of flinty minerality. Medium-bodied, round and mouthwatering with a tangy, citrusy aftertaste. Fresh and focused. Drink now.
Intense straw yellow. Stand out characters of apricot, pear, apple, peach, citrus, green almond, with notes of sage and mineral scents. Excellent acidity, sensations that recall ripe fruits. Great structure and strong flavor.
The Mastroberardino family is responsible for the recovery and relaunch of the ancient “Greco” vine, in the process of extinction, the identification of the production area and its vinification in purity. The result of a rigorous selection of grapes, Novaserra, which has become a classic, expresses an organoleptic complexity never reached. On the label are reproduced the details of a painting by Raffaele De Rosa, made on one of the vaults of the aging caves.

Vinous 94 Points | The first of the two white wines, the 2024 Versante Nord is a blend of varieties sourced from six different vineyards at varying altitudes from the north side of the valley, which receives more sunlight during the day. This wine offers a wealth of power, with notes of salted pineapples, fresh sage, smoky earth, and saline. It’s bright with acidity, salinity, and a light wild side, though very well-managed. It had been bottled just three weeks earlier, so this tasting was a preview prior to its release. Drink over the coming 8-10 years.
Vibrant and mineral-driven white from the cooler northern slopes of Mt. Etna. Made from native Sicilian varieties grown on volcanic soils, it’s a wine of precision, tension, and layered complexity. Saline, citrusy, and full of energy, this is a must-try for lovers of terroir-expressive whites. A rising star from one of Etna’s most exciting young winemakers.
To get an idea of what this wine is, Eric Guido of Vinous Media said of last year’s vintage - 91 Points - A pretty blend of crushed yellow apples, lemon zest and ginger wafts up from the 2023 Uve Bianche Versant Nord. It splashes across the palate with tart orchard fruits and crunchy mineral tones enlivened by a core of sour citrus. Spice nuances embellish the close. This ends with a flowery concentration and sour lime, crisply refreshing yet potent and long. Fantastic.
