In memory of grandfather Antonio we celebrate the Return to the Origins with Amaro Nonino Quintessentia by creating a RISERVA which boasts more than 24 months of natural ageing in oak barriques and small casks.

Antonio Nonino, third generation of the family of Distillers, used to keep Amaro Carnia in small wooden casks. Steel was prohibitive. The infusion in contact with wood evolved and was enriched with new notes and new aromas.

Although there is no clear regulation on the aging of liqueurs, in respect of the philosophy that has always accompanied us, aging takes place in a dedicated cellar, under seal and permanent surveillance by the Customs and Monopoly Office: the result is extraordinary!

With great softness, the citrous notes are lessened and it gains great elegance declined in different and enveloping notes. At the beginning autumnal brushwood and moss fragrances that leave way to scents of raisins and passito. Balsamic scents that balance the bitter notes of rhubarb, scent of flamed orange and caramelized vanilla, great persistence and intensity.

In 1993, Alfredo Buglioni purchased a hillside villa in the heart of Valpolicella Classico, drawn by the beauty of the land and the quality of its vines. Trading grapes with local producers in exchange for winemaking knowledge, the Buglioni family spent years learning the craft before releasing their first vintage in 2000. Today, the estate spans 153 certified organic acres, guided by enologist Diego Bertoni and a commitment to expressing the unique terroir of Valpolicella Classico with both tradition and a modern sensibility.

"Il Lussurioso" — Italian for "the luxurious one" — takes its name from the wine's long, lingering finish. Crafted from 100% estate fruit sourced from Vigneto San Pietro in Sant'Ambrogio, situated at approximately 495 feet elevation on dark, clayey soils rich in gravel, the grapes are hand-harvested in mid-September and dried through the traditional appassimento process until January. The result is a wine of extraordinary concentration, complexity, and depth. Certified organic.

The 2019 vintage followed a mild winter and a cool, healthy growing season with moderate temperatures through summer, allowing the vines to ripen slowly and evenly. Grapes were manually harvested in selected bunches around mid-September at peak maturity.

Intense ruby red in the glass, the wine opens with scents of cherry, black cherry, dried plum, star anise, clove, espresso, and white pepper, with mineral and dried leaf notes. Antica Erboristeria Cappelletti was founded in 1909 in the historic Piazza Fiera in the center of Trento — a firm rooted from the very beginning in the tradition of herbs, roots, and flowers of the Alpine foothills. Today, four generations later, Luigi and Maddalena Cappelletti continue all production in-house from their home in Aldeno, 20 km south of Trento, surrounded by vineyards and apple orchards. Alta Verde is their traditional wormwood amaro: a style that was once common throughout the Adriatic but has become increasingly rare over the last half century. This is the real thing — uncompromising, botanical, and built for those who take their bitters seriously.

The principal ingredient is assenzio — a variety of wormwood — framed and lightened by a complementary blend of alpine herbs, citrus, and spice. The result is a deeply bitter, aromatic amaro with a drying finish and genuine complexity.
