Cave De Lugny Macon Lugny Les Charmes 2023 750ml
Winemaker Description
Mâcon-Lugny Les Charmes comes from the predominantly limestone plateau of the same name, located in the town of Lugny. This wine with an ample, velvety and spicy mouthfeel reveals floral and fruity aromas (honey, acacia, citrus) which gives it a unique style of this particular plot of vines in the Mâconnais region.
Because it is unoaked and has a touch of weight, it is incredibly versatile:
-
Seafood: Pan-seared sea bass, garlic shrimp, or sushi.
-
Poultry: Classic roast chicken with lemon and thyme.
-
Cheese: It is the classic pairing for goat cheese (specifically Chabichou or Selles-sur-Cher), as the wine's acidity cuts through the creamy cheese.

The Les Sétilles Secret
Les Sétilles is widely considered one of the best-kept secrets in Burgundy. While technically labeled as a Bourgogne Blanc — Burgundy’s entry-level appellation — the fruit is sourced primarily from vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault, two of the Côte de Beaune’s most celebrated white wine villages. The result is a wine with the DNA of much more expensive village-level Burgundy at a fraction of the price: a genuine insider’s choice for those who know.
About Olivier Leflaive
Olivier Leflaive is one of Burgundy’s most respected négociant-éleveurs, founded in 1984 in Puligny-Montrachet by Olivier Leflaive — a member of the legendary Leflaive family, one of the most storied names in white Burgundy. The maison specializes in white wines from the Côte de Beaune, with a portfolio spanning Bourgogne Blanc through Premier and Grand Cru, and is known for its commitment to sustainable farming and minimal intervention winemaking. Les Sétilles — named for the small stones found in the vineyards — is the flagship entry-level wine and one of the most consistently praised value Burgundies on the market.
Food Pairings
Lobster with drawn butter, seared scallops, grilled fish, roast chicken with tarragon, veal, Brie, aged Comté, and light pasta with cream sauce. A benchmark value white Burgundy built for the table.

Delectable aromas of crisp apples and pears, lemon blossom and roasted hazelnuts greet the nose with enticing anticipation. In the mouth, the flavors cascade elegantly with distinctive freshness and lively minerality that compliments the fruit and lingers into the finish. A ‘Baby Puligny’ in everything, except the price! Pairs beautifully with seafood, poultry and rich cream sauces.
Bart Hopkins
Winemaker Description

Domaine Laroche Chablis St Martin 2023 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2023
The Tasting Panel 92 Points | This detailed yet generous vintage of the flagship Chablis from Laroche sings with white peach, ripe pear, and nectarine, though the quintessential mineral spine that the best Chardonnays of the appellation exhibit is also present throughout. Fine-lees aging has lent a lovely tactile character.
The Wine Spectator 88 Points | A ripe, fruity style, yet this shows textbook Chablis flint, lemon and apple flavors. This round, harmonious and juicy version lingers nicely on the finish. Drink now. 35,415 cases made, 7,083 cases imported.
Memo Summary Notes
Because of its high acidity and saline notes, this wine is a "gold standard" for seafood pairings:
-
Shellfish: Fresh oysters, mussels, or langoustines.
-
Salads: Crab salad with citrus dressing.
-
Cheese: Young goat cheese or creamy Brie.
Winemaker Notes
Chablis Saint Martin has the intense freshness typical of the terroir in combination with ripe white fruit and white blossom aromas. The minerality gives a lingering finish and a distinct character. A nice complexity emerges from this vintage, while keeping a lot of purity.
Founded in 1850, Domaine Laroche is one of the largest owners of Premier and Grand Cru vineyards in Chablis and has led movements to raise the quality of the appellation with the creation of a charter of excellence for the Grand Cru producers. The Domaine Laroche vineyards are undergoing active conversion to organic viticulture.
Saint Martin, the patron saint of Chablis, was a Roman cavalry officer who became a humble monk and was elected Bishop of Tours. Saint Martin’s relics were kept for a decade in the Obédiencerie of the ninth-century monastery in the town of Chablis. Julien Brocard Chablis Vigne de la Boissonneuse Organic Biodynamic 2023
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2023
Vinous 92 | The 2023 Chablis La Boissonneuse has another generous and well-defined bouquet with Clementine and peach skin, just a hint of candy floss and spice. Quite mercurial in the glass. The palate is taut and fresh with a fine bead of acidity. Sapid in the mouth with plenty of extract and umami sensation on the finish. This should be on your shopping list. Rated 90-92
Allen Meadows Burghound 90 Points | In contrast to the Les Plantes, here the expressive nose is quite fresh with its notes of just sliced citrus, green apple and enough typicity to be convincing. There is excellent vibrancy to the sleek and well-defined flavors that display good length on the youthfully austere and highly refreshing finish. This isn't however especially complex so a few years of keeping are recommended. Rated: 87-90
Memo Summary Notes
This particular wine is a "poster child" for the benefits of organic and biodynamic viticulture. Julien Brocard is a pioneer in the region, and "La Boissonneuse" was actually his very first experimental biodynamic plot, certified since the early 2000s.
The 2023 vintage specifically reflects the purity and energy that these farming methods aim to achieve.
Pairing Suggestions
-
Fresh Oysters or Scallops: The "like-with-like" mineral match is classic.
-
Roasted Chicken with Herbs: The wine’s "fleshiness" handles white meat perfectly.
-
Goat Cheese: The tang of the cheese complements the wine's citrus profile.
Domaine Daniel et Christine Pollier Les Trois Bousquet Saint Veran 2022 750ml
Winemaker Description
Domaine Daniel Pollier has been producing white wines across Mâcon since the 18th century, with current plantings of Chardonnay found in the appellations of Mâcon Fuissé, Mâcon-Villages, Saint-Véran, Mâcon Chaintré, and Pouilly-Fuissé, the latter of which is en route to receive Premier Cru status in the coming years. The domaine comprises 13 hectares. All of the wines are crafted solely from estate fruit, coming from vines with an average of 40 years, some of which clock in at an impressive 70 years.
Occupying vineyards to the west and south of the village of Mâcon, the appellation of St-Véran interweaves with Pouilly-Fuissé, overlapping both the Mâconnais and Beaujolais. Grown on limestone, St-Véran whites' ageability and power fall somewhere in between the wines of Mâcon-Villages and Pouilly-Fuissé.
After subtle aromas of lemon, apricot, acacia and honeysuckle, on the palate a St-Véran (always made of Charodnnay) shows fresh focus and clarity while exhibiting roundness and harmonious balance. A great St-Véran will express notes of almond, hazelnut, cinnamon, butter or toast and sometimes an exotic twist of orange peel. Seafood risotto or pasta with mushrooms are perfect pairings.
Memo Summary Notes
The Domaine Daniel et Christine Pollier Saint-Véran "Les Trois Bousquet" 2022 is a classic expression of Southern Burgundy. Saint-Véran is often called the "hidden gem" of the Mâconnais because it shares the same limestone-rich soil as its famous neighbor, Pouilly-Fuissé.
This is a versatile food wine. It pairs beautifully with seafood risotto, roasted chicken, or a creamy goat cheese.

It has been 15 years since Vincent Boyer took the reins from his father and put his stamp on Domaine Yves Boyer-Martenot. Located in the heart of Meursault, this 4th-generation property boasts a lineup of remarkable, high-altitude lieux-dits and premiers crus that have few equals in the village.
Vincent allows only indigenous yeast in the cellar, using little new wood and bottling his whites with low levels of SO2 and minimal to zero filtration. The results recently are crystal pure Chardonnay from some of the best situated holdings in all of Meursault. Vincent’s dedication to old vines and tireless work in the vineyards is clearly evident in his wines, even though his decision to shy away from the limelight has kept these beauties under the radar for years. Chateau Des Jacques Clos de Loyse, Louis Jadot Beaujolais BLANC 2024 750ml
Winemaker Description
Fresh and fruity, pair with seafood or charcuterie, great as an aperitif. This white offers a bright and energetic initial impression, with lively acidity and sleek texture. Citrus flavors are enhanced by subtle earth and saline notes, as the flavor profile expands over the elegant finish. Clos de Loyse is a 22.3 acre walled vineyard attached to a castle of medieval origin. It was the land of the Lords of Loyse until 1643, when Carthusian monks took over and cultivated chardonnay there until the French revolution.
2024 was a challenging vintage across the greater Burgundy region, characterized by excessive rainfall and increased vine disease pressure. While meticulous viticulture was required everywhere, this particular vineyard was dealt a serious blow with a midsummer hailstorm that ultimately reduced the crop by 50%. The remaining grapes ripened perfectly to yield a small quantity of delicious wine.

Jasper Morris 92-94 Points | Mid lemon. A little more stuffing than the very agreeable Chenevottes, digging deep into fresh yellow fruit, some citrus rind, good acidity, and a particularly appealing intense crisp white fruit finish. Old vines count!
Neal Martin writes: The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Champs Gain 1er Cru has a touch more mineralité on the nose compared to the Les Chenevottes, touches of gypsum and oyster shell intermingling with light white linen scents. The palate is very well balanced and beautifully poised, with entrancing white peach and nectarine notes toward the irresistible finish. Yes, yes, yes! Drinking 2025 to 2048. - Vinous 93-95
William Kelley writes: Aromas of citrus zest, peach and pear, mingled with hints of white flowers, hazelnuts and fresh bread, preface the 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Gain, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and nicely concentrated wine with a bright spine of acidity and a mouthwateringly chalky finish. This looks to be Colin's best Champs Gain since 2017. - Robert Parker Wine Advocate 91-93
Winemaker Description
Founded in 1970 by Marc Colin and his wife Michele, Domaine Marc Colin now spans 15 hectares encompassing 26 appellations in St. Aubin, Chassagne, Puligny, and Santenay. Most of the land was inherited from past generations of Colin and Ponavoy; certain parcels have been in the family for more than 100 years. While the family does own prime territory in Chassagne, home base in St. Aubin features parcels of the very best vineyards, En Remilly and Chatenière, to name a few. These vineyards accrue prestige due to their sloped location; while much of St. Aubin resides on flat ground (rendering less interesting wines) the Colin properties are all situated on finely pitched hillsides. The resulting wines shimmer with savory minerality and luster.
Today Joseph, Caroline, and Damien, the children of Marc and Michele, own and run the domaine. The fourth sibling Pierre-Yves (who made the wine at Marc Colin for 10 years) established his own project in 2005. Sustainable and organic agriculture, older vines, and clay-limestone soils are just some of the components contributing to the quality of the final product. Winemaking style would best be called traditional, though Joseph (who makes the whites) and Damien (who makes the reds) are certainly not shy of innovation. Whites strive for optimum freshness; there is no heavy, ungainly wood here. The red wines are characterized by silky texture, ever-present fruit and a certain roundness with just a kiss of oak. Production consists of 70% white and 30% red with total production maxing out at 120,000 bottles.
Chavy-Martin Macon Chardonnay 2023 750ml
Our Professional Review
Rand Sieger, 67 Wine Buyer, writes: This 100% Chardonnay comes from vineyards in the village of Macon-Chardonny, one of the villages allowed to append its name to the region of Macon. This is an outstanding fresh white with aromas of quince and white stone fruits and a delicate touch of oak. This is a great pairing with soft ripened cheeses or white fish.
Bart Hopkins, 67 Wine Buyer, says: The 2023 Macon-Chardnnay is the inaugural vintage of this wine from renowned Puligny-Montrachet winemaker Alain Chavy and his son Corantin. The grapes are sourced from various growers and the winemaking takes place at the cellar in Puligny under the care and guidance of Alain and Corantin. The wine is clean and refreshing with lovely Chardonnay white fruit character and floral complexity. Medium bodied with a nice lift of acidity on the long finish.
Memo Summary Notes
The Chavy-Martin Mâcon-Chardonnay 2023 is a standout value from Burgundy, crafted by Alain Chavy and his son Corentin.
Domaine Jomain Bourgogne Cote D'Or Chardonnay 2023 750ml
Winemaker Description
The Domaine Jomain Bourgogne Côte d’Or Chardonnay 2023 is an exceptional find for Burgundy enthusiasts, often described as a "baby Puligny-Montrachet." This is because the Jomain family is based in Puligny-Montrachet, and this specific bottling is produced from vines located just outside the village boundaries in the prestigious Côte d’Or sub-appellation.
The 2023 vintage is currently hitting the market as a "rockstar" bottle, lauded for balancing the ripeness of a warm season with the precise, flinty minerality that defines this estate.
Pair with
• Seafood: Its rich texture and minerality make it a perfect match for scallops in cream sauce, lobster rolls, or lemony shrimp risotto.
• Poultry: Roasted chicken with tarragon or a light chicken stir-fry with ginger.
• Cheese: Pairs beautifully with soft, creamy cheeses or a classic aged Comté.
