Winemaker Description

A classic Sauvignon Blanc with all the hallmark characteristics of Marlborough. Produced in a fuller, riper, and softer style that develops well, this wine is clean, fresh and tropical, with fruit harvested from several vineyards situated throughout Marlborough.

Sweet citrus, red current and tropical fruits overlay fresh herbs and mineral elements.

On entry fresh tropical/ fruit salad fruits. The mid-palate adds juicy ripe citrus and blackcurrant with spice and lime joining and extending the finish. A wine with flesh and volume - a flavourful mouthful.

Rebecca Gibb MW writes: It must be difficult being Cloudy Bay, because fame brings extra scrutiny and the question, ‘Does this brand offer value for money in the context of the wider region?’ In 2023, the Sauvignon Blanc silences its critics. Its vineyard may be much larger than it once was, but it delivers – dry, clean and elegant, with classic characteristics and the bonus of welcome structure on the finish. It may not be the most flamboyant on the nose, focusing more on the herbal rather than tropical spectrum (whether that's elderflower, gooseberry or classic passion fruit), but that seems to be a function of the vintage. The 2023 is long, fragrant and exactly what you want from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, but with an extra layer of class.  - Vinous 93

Seductive translucent pale-yellow color with delicate green reflections. This wine opens up with a very expressive nose with beautiful aromas combining floral and mineral notes. 92 Points Wine Enthusiast | Fragrance of pomelo, fresh Meyer lemon, yuzu, yellow peaches, white mushroom and peppercorn come together for an elegant, yet bright nose. A saline palate with yellow apples, Bosc pears, white mushrooms and fresh vanilla is carried to a round mouthfeel, with a lengthy and enjoyable finish. (2021). 

Beautifully integrated tropical flavors such as pineapple, mango and papaya, with citrus notes that explode in your mouth. These flavors delicately intertwine with aromas of vanilla and honey to create depth and balance throughout. A hint of toasted oak and butter rounds out the long, lingering finish. Monterey’s combination of moderate climate and marine influences from the Pacific Ocean keep the grapes balanced and able to develop fully ripe flavors. A classic Central Coast Chardonnay, this wine offers tropical aromas of grilled pineapple with a hint of star fruit and vanilla.

Wine Spectator 89 Points | Floral and bright, with ripe cantaloupe, honeysuckle and nectarine flavors that are succulent and generous. Reveals chamomile and salted almond notes that add intrigue on the tasty finish. Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette, Bourboulenc and Grenache Blanc.

Winemaker Description

The grapes for this wine are sourced from the main four appellations, including Sancerre and Pouilly Fume, which are known for their racy, mineral-driven style. The nose is fresh and vibrant with notes of lime zest, ruby grapefruit, green pear and mandarin oranges.

There is an undercurrent of wet stones throughout. True to its terroir, it is refreshing with moderate acidity but it also has some weight in the mid-palate due to being aged on its fine lees. 

Pale gold in color, clear and limpid.  A typical Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc nose, grassy and herbal combining with floral and citrus notes.   Crisp and clean in the mouth  with notes of orange, passion fruit and lots of herbal flavors.

This clean Chardonnay is accentuated by fruit-forward aromas of apple, pineapple and melon, ending with a smooth, slightly buttery finish. Pair this crisp Chardonnay with herbed pork loin or pasta with your favorite cream sauce. Winemaker Description.

Rebecca Gibb MW writes:  Initially the 2023 Sauvignon Blanc needs a few moments to get itself together – much like we all do after waking up from our slumber. It wears a rather reductive overcoat, but under that flintiness you find concentrated, pure fruit flavors. It’s light in body but dense in concentration thanks to low yields, displaying both focus and punch. It's almost silvery in color and restrained thanks to hand-picking, leading to pure grapefruit and passion fruit flavors alongside a hint of nectarine. The finish is long, precise and sinewy.  Drinking 2024 - 2028.  - Vinous 93

Jancis Robinson writes:  From the tricky, cloudy, cyclone-affected vintage 2023 when I was in New Zealand.  Sourced from eight of their own vineyards with the Wairau Valley.  Smoky, green-veg nose. Just a little less exuberantly fruity than some other vintages. The wine finishes a little more suddenly than I would have expected but it's a creditable effort in a challenging year.

Tasting Notes: straw yellow color with clean and intense aromas of green apples, pears and citrus fruit such as lemons. Medium-bodied with a soft mouthfeel and well-integrated acidity. On the palate you can also find green apples, lemons and pears. A lovely Aperitif white wine to start off any occasion. It pairs well with fresh cheeses, seafood and white sauce pasta dishes, as well as seafood and poultry.

In appearance, it’s a pale yellow, straw color. On the nose there are ripe Sauvignon Blanc aromatics with notes of white stone fruit, passion fruit pulp and kaffir lime. The palate is lively with deep concentration and a salinic acidity.
