Created in the 1980s from a single selection of the finest grapes in the Montecarotto vineyard, Casal di Serra has grown into one of Italy's benchmark expressions of Verdicchio — the great indigenous white grape of the Marche. Now certified organic, the wine is fermented and aged on its own natural yeasts, a process that builds richness and personality while preserving the variety's signature balance and elegance. The result is a white of genuine depth: velvety, saline, and persistently fruity.

A wine that is as much of a feeling as it is tasty, with an amazing texture that hugs the palate with a pleasant pithy bitterness and sea-salty finish.
(Vintage 2021) 91 Points Robert Parker | This wine is most representative of the Umani Ronchi house style. Fruit is blended from two zones, Le Busche and San Sebastiano, from old vines on loose sand and clay soils. The 2021 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore CaSal di Serra is crisp and almost crunchy in texture with plenty of melon, unripe peach, aniseed and sage. It offers good structure and acidity too. This wine was first produced in 1983.
