In the glass, key lime, granny smith apple, kiwi and white peach flavors grace the palate playfully with perfectly balanced acidity offering lift and a pleasant zip to the finish. Crisp and very pleasant, perfect for seafood and salads.

We began making our Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc in 2001, and we have lovingly reproduced this delicious wine each vintage since. Winemaker Heidi von der Mehden follows specific protocols, including fermentation in French oak barrels and twice-weekly lees stirring, to craft this aromatic, lush bottling.

The nose of the 2023 vintage features fragrant tropical aromas of white pineapple, passionfruit, mango and guava, with subtle hints of plumeria, lemon curd and lime zest. Winemaker Description

Domaine Delobel is located in Ouchamps, on the Oisly vineyard in the Loire Valley . It was created by Benjamin Delobel , originally from Nord-Pas-de-Calais, in 2013. He has 12 hectares of vines, 10 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and 2 hectares of Gamay and Pineau d'Aunis. The estate has been run in organic farming, certified since 2013. The farm's vines come from mass selections , which makes it possible to maintain the production quality of the old vines and a rich varietal complexity.

Angle Droit is made from Sauvignon Blanc . Manual harvests are carried out early in the morning, when temperatures are low to avoid oxidation of the juice. The grapes are pressed slowly in a pneumatic press then the wine is cooled in stainless steel vats. Aging is carried out on lees.

The 2022 Matthews Columbia Valley Sauvignon Blanc is yellow jasmine in color with flecks of green. Intense aromatics of starfruit, lemony sorrel leaf, juicy green pear and mandarin orange open to honeysuckle and linden flower. Followed by flavors of lemon curd, oyster shell, candied orange peel and flint, this medium bodied, balanced wine has refreshing acidity. It finishes long with briney and stoney flavors that are taught and textural.

James Suckling 93 Points | Complex aromas of lemon peel, grapefruit pith, apple blossoms, pastry and lanolin. The palate is textural and creamy with a medium-bodied mouthfeel and bright acidity that carries lingering flavors of lime leaves, pomelo and sea salt. Made with 2% semillon. 7% barrel-fermented and 19% wild-fermented with eight months on the lees before bottling. Drink or hold.

This wine shows an array of fruit characters, ranging from citrus through to tropical notes. This is complemented by some secondary characters from the natural yeast ferments and some barrel aging. The palate has an elegant structure with a creamy, textural mid-palate and a long finish.

The Mahi Sauvignon Blanc 2024 is a standout release from Brian Bicknell, a winemaker known for moving away from the "industrial" style of Marlborough in favor of texture, complexity, and soul. While many entry-level Sauvignon Blancs are fermented entirely in stainless steel to preserve loud tropical fruit, Mahi uses a "chef’s approach," incorporating wild ferments and old oak to create a more sophisticated, food-friendly wine.

Pair with because of its creamy texture and weight, this is one of the few Sauvignon Blancs that can handle lightly seared scallops or oysters without overpowering them.

The Wine Spectator by MaryAnn Worobiec 94 Points | Fragrant, effusive and charming, with notes of honeysuckle and orange blossoms up front giving way to a creamy mix of mango, orange sherbet and lemon curd. Spicy accents of candied ginger, litsea oil and salted, preserved lemon join a drizzle of wildflower honey and linger on the long, impressive finish. Drink now through 2036. 5,000 cases made. 

The Wine Advocate 93 Points by Joe Czerwinski  | Quintessa's 2024 Illumination blends fruit from Napa (55%) and Sonoma (45%). As usual, there's a decent-sized dollop of old-vine Sémillon (14% this year) in the blend, with the rest of the fruit being Sauvignon Blanc—roughly one-third of that is the more aromatic Musqué clone. Fermented and raised in a variety of vessels, including new and old French oak barrels, acacia barrels, stainless steel drums and concrete eggs, it offers up enticing scents of pencil shavings, lemon zest, grapefruit and fig. Plump and medium-bodied in the mouth, it boasts a fine line of acidity from start to finish, giving the fruit a spine to play against and prolonging the concentrated, citrusy finish.

The Wine Advocate 91 Points | The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc is mineral and fresh, with almost spritzy acidity on the palate. This is all about green fruit and soft leaf herbs, gentle persuasions of white pineapple and mint and a salty Margherita character that is really quite attractive.

Classic Sauvignon Blanc fruit was batch-harvested at perfect ripeness, with balanced tropical fruit, citrus, and herbal flavours. Fermented cool in stainless steel tanks to retain purity of fruit flavour and freshness, the wine then spent 3 months on lees to build texture. After blending, some of the alcohol was gently removed from the wine using spinning cone technology to give a full- flavoured 6% alc./ vol. Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc that’s deliciously fresh, with 50% lower alcohol and 45% less calories compared to 12.5% alc./vol. wine.

The Wine Advocate 94 Points | Grapes for the 2023 Sauvignon Blanc L’Après-Midi were picked from September 21 through November 2—an especially long harvest window. “It was a special year because everything was pushed back,” Winemaker Robert Fiore says, noting that the cooler season resulted in very lively wines. Blended with 4% Sémillon, the 2023 L’Après-Midi is open and inviting. Pineapple, peach and guava are accented by tones of beeswax, dried tarragon and candle smoke on the nose. The palate is bursting with concentrated, tropical, spicy flavors. Its vibrant acidity provides the perfect foil, lending the wine a shimmery feel, and it has a long, perfumed finish. 1,850 cases were made.

2023 'L’Après-Midi' (The Afternoon) was named in honor of the pleasures of a slow and lazy afternoon, which according to Sir Peter is a good time to start enjoying this wine. This is one of our two estate-grown Sauvignon Blanc/Sémillon blends.

The grapes are grown alongside our red Bordeaux varietals within Les Pavots Vineyard, benefiting from the steep slopes, excellent drainage, and cool air at altitude. The wine is whole-cluster-pressed and then naturally fermented in a barrel, forgoing a second malolactic fermentation to preserve the fruity and zesty character of the Sauvignon Blanc. It is predominantly made from Sauvignon Blanc, with just a touch of Sémillon.

2023 marks our eighth vintage of sauvignon blanc and our sourcing has remained the same for all eight vintages. We work closely with our two growers, one in Carneros and the other just east of Yountville. How sauvignon blanc is grown has a major impact on what flavors we get, so we spend time during the growing season ensuring we are exposing the clusters to the right amount of sum, too little sum and you get the green bell pepper flavors, too much gives you flavors of guava. Too much canopy drives grassy flavors we want to avoid.
