Enjoy the Tradition of Japanese Drinks

TAKARA PLUM is TAKARA’s special rendition using white wine, of a traditional liqueur called “ume-shu,” (meaning “plum wine,” originally developed in Edo period around 17th century when “shochu” [Japanese distilled spirits] was introduced.) This plum-infused delicious, sweet drink has been enjoyed by Japanese people through the centuries.

Winemaker Description 

Fruit driven, cool cassis and pencil shavings on the nose with aromatic layers of spiciness and black pepper.

Finely crafted to portray layers of cherry, soft prune, blackcurrant and hints of spice. Elegant, velvety mouthfeel and long, lingering finish.

Serve with any venison or game dish with a berry sauce as well as spicy dishes.

Matured in French oak, this wine has a surprisingly fresh mid-palate. Fermentation takes place on the skins for about seven days, after which it gets an extended maceration period of about one week. The wine then gets pressed into a combination of 70% new and 30% second-fill 300 litre French oak barrels. After malolactic fermentation the wine gets racked and is then returned to the barrels for another 18 months before bottling. Can be enjoyed from the year of release, with an ageing potential of up to ten years.

This dry, full-bodied red blend offers a balanced fusion of black fruit and a savoury edge of cigar.

Our winemakers have aged each component in oak barrels to produce a soft mouth-feel and juicy, lingering finish that will leave you wanting more.

It is youthful and vibrant, with enough depth to hold its own when savoured with slow-cooked game or oxtail stew, barbecued boerewors, fire-grilled lamb chops with rosemary or lightly spiced pulled pork.

The blend is made up of 53% shiraz, 19% pinotage, 8% cabernet franc, 6% merlot, 5% malbec, 3% petit verdot, 3% mourvèdre, 2% grenache noir, and 1% marselan.

Domaine du Salvard Cheverny Ros is a refreshing and vibrant ros from the Loire Valley, France. Produced in the Cheverny appellation, this ros is a delightful blend of sustainably-farmed Gamay and Pinot Noir, two grapes that thrive in this cool-climate region. 

Domaine du Salvard has been a working domaine since 1898, through five hardworking generations of the Delaille family. Today, all forty-two hectares of vineyards are farmed by the capable brother team of Emmanuel and Thierry Delaille, with help from their father Gilbert.

Deep red color. The nose presents a great aromatic expression preponderated by the notes of black fruit and spices. In the mouth, its round tannin is highlighted and it is perceived as very fruity. It is a wine of medium intensity, fresh and balanced

WINEMAKING The grapes are carefully destemmed and undergo a four-day cold maceration. The must is fermented at low temperatures (26 ° C) so that in this way greater aromatic delicacy is achieved. The fermentation is completed with soft and delicate overruns until the moment of discovery.

History: The François Carillon Domaine, created in 2010, is the long-lasting legacy of a wine family business that dates back to the 16th century in Puligny-Montrachet, a very typical wine village in south of Côte de Beaune – Burgundy’s most renown terroir for white wines. Located in the heart of the village, the estate owns and manages today a sixteen-hectare-vineyard located in Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. The estate produces about seventeen (depending on the harvests) different appellations, mainly in Chardonnay.

Between passion and precision, the ambition of the François Carillon Domaine is to produce fine, elegant and gourmet wines, representative of the exceptional terroirs from which they come. A pure Chardonnay nose with a bit of vanilla bean. On the palate, very creamy like ice cream, quite pungent and round at the same time. Shows nice mineral and floral elements, some sweet and sour and some grapefruit flavors. A very lively finish.

Tonya Pitts of The Wine Enthusiast writes 91 Points | Zesty aromas of celery, green papaya, kefir lime, and notes of White nectarine and White grapefruit saunter through the nose, beckoning to taste the ripe fresh fruits on the palate, pinpointed with higher acidity, leaving a crisp, clean, mouth-watering finish. Pair with fried oysters.

This first release Sauvignon Blanc offers aromas of fresh peach, mango, honeydew, citrus and green grass. The palate shows green apple, citrus including white grapefruit, and crisp white peach.

Danielle Callegari of The Wine Enthusiast writes 90 Points | The nose is a citrusy cocktail accompanying a well-composed charcuterie board, as lemon, grapefruit and a light florality mix with salted nuts and a peppery undertone. On the palate, potent acid emphasizes the citrus, but herbs join the salt to create a round, oily texture.

It is a gold color with green reflexes, the light is light and the leaves are thin, with dark, light and fruity leaves.

Bright shiny rose in color. Fantastic fresh floral notes fill the glass; the Crispin aromas especially stand out with fine hints of yeast. The mouth-feel is pure and clean, with a nice balance of sweet fruit, elegant acidity and fine tannins that provide a long and pleasant finish. There is a nice CO2 mousse, making it very pleasant and playful.

Best served chilled, this slightly effervescent cider makes an able companion to a wide variety of party and picnic foods—hors d’oeuvres, salads and cheeses—as well as fruit pies and tarts. Pair it with grilled meat (especially pork), seafood or vegetables, too. Or just enjoy it on its own!

Produced from equal parts of these varietals, the fruit for this wine comes from Chidaine’s estate-grown, bio-dynamically farmed vineyards located just north of the Cher river between the villages of Montrichard & Chissay-en-Touraine.

The nose of gooseberries has some some floral notes is followed by a medium-full wine with a chalky texture. Excellent acidity and beautiful tension bring up the solid mineral core. Very refreshing, but surprisingly complex, this is a perennial favorite where supply never is sufficient for demand. Amazing value and very food friendly!

Bright aromas of blue fruit and hibiscus flowers. On the palate, juicy blueberries and ripe pomegranate, with subtle undertones of oak spice and nutmeg. 

Soft, rounded mouthfeel supported on the finish by lithe, playful tannins. Enjoy this pinot with duck confit, pork loin roast or grilled lamb.
Production Notes

The 2023 vintage is not one we will soon forget. A cool and wet winter led to a budbreak 2-3 weeks later than average. Daytime temperatures throughout the growing season continued to be unusually cool, with averages in the low 70s and the warmest days just reaching into the mid 80s.

This led to an exceptionally late harvest - over a full month later than 2022 on average, offering the grapes an extended hang time to develop extraordinary complexity and concentration. 

The evening coastal breezes and morning fog blanketing the Russian River Valley preserved fresh acidity and created beautiful balance with the season's generous ripe fruit flavors.

Expert Review - Vintage 2023 

The Wine Enthusiast 95 Points | The 2023 growing season in Santa Maria Valley AVA began with cooler temperatures and average rainfall, which led to a slightly delayed budbreak. A warm spell in February and March accelerated vine growth, but cooler conditions and frost events in April reduced yields. From late April to August, consistent warm days and cool nights promoted optimal ripening, with veraison completing by the end of August.
