Winemaker Description 

The Flower and the Bee' aims to introduce native Galician grapes to a wider audience. This is a lovely full-flavoured white wine, with powerful flavours of herbs, pears and white peach. Real presence, but not at all heavy. Just lovely fruit intensity, and amazing freshness.

Nestled at the eastern edge of Galicia, the Ribeiro DO is split by three rivers. Coto de Gomariz is located in the zone of Ribeiro where the slopes overlook the Avia river and consists of 27 hectares. Shisteous, granitic and sandy soils, steep slopes, tiny yields and a unique microclimate make this spot ideal for growing the local varieties which include Treixadura, Godello, Loureira and Albariño. Owner Ricardo Carreiro and winemaker Xosé Lois Sebio have introduced biodynamic principles, and are producing great wines at great prices.

Producer Description 

55% Xarel.lo, 35% Macabeu and 10% Parellada from four vineyards ("Cuc", "Figuera", "Triangle" & "Pupurri"), each located surrounding the winery in the hills of Penedes at different altitudes (200-500m), microclimates and Xilobí soils.

Grapes are hand harvested, fermented/aged in tank on the lees for 6 months, and then aged for an additional 26 months before being disgorged.

Much like a conductor guiding an orchestra, our winemaking team thoughtfully blended each component to bring out the best in the ensemble. Saperavi forms the foundation, delivering depth, structure, and vivid red fruit. Pinot Noir contributes elegance and finesse, while Chardonnay adds a lift of citrusy acidity and a smooth, rounded texture. The supporting cast—Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Blanc—enhance the wine’s aromatic complexity and lively freshness.

The result is a dry rosé that’s generous, layered, and expressive, yet remains bright, crisp, and effortlessly drinkable. Each variety plays its part, weaving character and nuance into a rosé that’s both thought-provoking and irresistibly approachable.

Dark red color with violet hints. Rich and strong aromas, including scents of ripe fruits, plums, black cherry, black currant, chocolates and violets. Well balanced acidity and a long finish. Good structure with soft tannins.

Expert Review - Vintage 2021

Vinous 89 Points | The 2021 Montecucco Rosso Rigoleto is dark and spicy, with suggestions of clove and cinnamon givig way to rich cherry sauce and hints of sweet sage. This is silky in feel, with juicy acidity and ripe red fruits that flow effortlessly across the palate. It leaves a licorice tinge to linger under violet inner florals, finishing fresh, youthfully tense and with medium length.

A love for Tuscany and a strong passion for wines led Claudio Tipa and his sister Maria Iris Bertarelli to Montecucco’s hills, where in 1999 they acquired and restored the ColleMassari castle, a fortress from the 13th century that was originally homestead of area nobility, along with its vineyards. Today the estate has a total surface of 1.200 hectares, of which 120 hectares are vineyards and nearly 90 hectares of olive groves (three trees are even more than 900 years old). 

The vines on the Montecucco hill are the oldest Sangiovese vines of the DOCG. A smooth and charming wine, this Sangiovese blend has delightful red berries notes and a delicate spicy touch of black pepper. Ready to drink wine with an easy approach, this is a ripe and very well balanced expression of this special part of the South of Tuscany.

Producer Description 

A Vermentino of noble character with crispy peel and lively acidity. On the nose it is intense, with marked citrus and aromatic herbs. On the palate it is fresh, sapid, persistent, and with a pleasant fruity aftertaste.

Goes well with all fish, particularly with antipasti, and is ideal as an aperitif.

Bart Hopkins of 67Wine.com writes | Primitivo is a traditional southern Italian grape, so it is unusual to find one from as far north as Abruzzo. But, with that said, judging by the substance and intensity of flavor of the 2024 Ruminat Primitivo, maybe more should be planted there. On the nose, powerful aromas of red and black berry fruit waft from the glass with notes of wild herbs and dark chocolate. Full and robust in the mouth with good tannins to support the fruit and spicy complexity that lingers long on the finish. Great with burgers, pizza, pasta and strong cheeses.

Made from organic grapes and free from unnecessary additives such as sugars, colors, and concentrates. Avaline wines are vegan, non-GMO, and gluten-free.

Cameron Diaz, along with business partner and friend Katherine Power (founder of fashion site Who What Wear, founded Avaline in 2020 (back when we could all use an extra glass). Both new to the alcohol industry, they set out to produce wine that promised organic grapes, clean ingredients, and accessibility to all.

Our Sauvignon Blanc displays fresh aromas of lime zest, grapefruit and guava complemented by notes of gooseberry and magnolia blossom. Beautifully balanced, this wine has a crisp acidity with rich citrus and a refreshing finish.

A long and dry growing season brought developed flavors along with vibrant acidity in this Sauvignon Blanc. Whole cluster pressing, segregation of the top portions of juice, and a stainless-steel fermentation captured the electric energy of this variety, grown in our favorite appellation. A bouquet of white fruit, lemongrass, and crisp apricot will draw you into fresh flavors of boxwood and white peach, with an endless finish.

The Wine Advocate 91+ Points | The young 2023 Albariño is varietal and has the imprint of the sandy and granite soils. It has good ripeness and 13% alcohol, keeping very good acidity and freshness (pH 3.29 and 7.46 grams of acidity), with a bittersweet twist in the finish. It's clean, round and tasty. They produce 50,000 bottles and do different bottlings of the same blend, keeping the wine in stainless steel with the lees. 

Tim Atkin 91 Points | Sourced from the Costa family's ocean-influenced vineyards in Castrelo, using grapes from vineyards with an average age of 45 years, this is typically mealy, sappy and floral, with good texture, a salty undertone and vivid lemon and lime fruit.

Fragancia de Marta is an unique wine, for his elaboration, concept and design: a pale rosé color white wine or a pale rosé with a white wine soul. The grape varieties Xarel.lo, Sauvigon blanc and Pinot noir from the Penedés vineyards are the base for the Fragancia de Marta elaboration.

The Wine Advocate 90 Points | Blended with 4% Sémillon, the 2023 Sauvignon Blanc Miller Ranch comes from a 92-acre estate vineyard purchased in 1976. Grapefruit, passion fruit and pineapple notes dominate the nose, but there is a tiny proportion of barrel fermentation (6%, in five-year-old oak) that lends a touch of generosity to the medium to full-bodied palate before giving way to a focused, lime-like finish.

Elijah by Manischewitz Cabernet Sauvignon, from the Curicó Valley in Chile, showcases vibrant fruit aromas of black cherry and dark plum, with a long finish.

Mülheimer Sonnenlay Riesling Zeppelin has amaizing aromas of apple, citrus and slate stone with clean and pure structure. The wine has a mineral texture with rich mouth-filling flavours of orchard fruits and juicy layers.

Shows as well zesty and spicy refreshing style. Well balanced structure, animating and the elegant fruit acid finishes with great length.

The estate of Max Ferdinand Richter has been owned by the Richter family for more than 300 years. Today this enterprise, owned and run by winemaker Dirk Richter, is one of the leading producers of top Rieslings in the heart of the central Mosel area with total holdings of 43 acres and an annual production of about 10,500 cases. Richter produces fine wines that are well known throughout the world. They produce a wide variety of wines from estate-grown grapes that reflect the individual style of each single vineyard. The terroir of their steep vineyard sites is generally fresh weathering grey slate.

The newest release of our Dry Rosé, we are thrilled to welcome the 2024 vintage. Primarily comprised of Pinot Noir, with a touch of Cabernet Franc for phenolic lift, this wine underwent 18 hours of skin contact and one month of indigenous yeast fermentation.

The results are a bright, fresh rosé - perfect for a wide variety of food, or for sipping on a restful afternoon.

Based on the original family recipe from the 1890’s, Trincheri Dry Vermouth is made from French Colombard grapes and infused with 13 herbs, spices, fruits, and botanicals, including: Roman Artemisia, Cinchona Bark, Orris Root, Tansy Herb, Ceylon Cinnamon, Lemon Peel, Juniper Berries, Yarrow Flower.

James Suckling 91 Points | Ripe cassis, berries, plums and a subtle twist of spices. Nicely structured on the palate with a medium to full body and a tight, medium-long finish. Well-framed. Drinkable now, but better in one more year.

Jesica Vargas of The Wine Enthusiast writes 88 Points | The nose of this wine is austere, but as the wine breathes, hints of black fruit show in the glass. A generous palate delivers intense flavors of blackberries joined by earthy notes that extend into the finish.

Varieties : 100% Palomino Fino. Vinification Method : This wine is sourced from a solera at bodegas Del Rio of Luis del Rio in Sanlúcar. Nick selected barrels on the warmer side of the bodega, giving the wine a fresher, more playful character.

Buelan Compañia de Sacas is a bottling project of barrel-selected sherries created by Nick Africano, musician and founder of En Rama Sherry Co.

Nick works with the wines of Ramiro Ibañez of Cota 45 and Willy Perez of Bodegas Luis Perez through his work with Spanish wine in New York City and with his experience working with José Pastor Selections. He was thrilled when he learned of Ramiro and Willy’s joint project, M. Ant. De La Riva, imported by José Pastor. After meeting Ramiro and Willy a few times in Spain, Nick immediately connected with their ethos, and knew he wanted to work with them in some capacity beyond selling their wine in NYC.

They are true modern masters, and will one day be legends of the category. For Nick, it felt like a dream come true to work with them for his first release: an idea Nick had to bottle a sherry to be co-released alongside a new song of the same name.

Buelan aims to bottle sherries that capture a depth of meaning and place, of metaphor and artistry, and, most importantly, they aim to capture the stories of the people who make the wines. Each bottling expresses a particular theme, be that a song, an idea, or just a certain style of sherry Nick wants to highlight.
