Calera Chardonnay Central Coast 2023 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2023
The Wine Enthusiast by Matt Kettmann writes 91 Points | Toasted almond, citrus pith and light dairy aromas show on the nose of this appellation cuvée. The palate picks up an earthier line, as chaparral rock and herb flavors meet with brighter lemon and dried pear elements.
Jeb Dunnuck 91 Points | From grapes grown primarily in San Luis Obispo, the 2023 Chardonnay is a nicely integrated, full-bodied white with grainy texture and flavors of lemon pith, tangerine and wet stone. Hugely enjoyable, with a rounded mouthfeel and long-lasting acidity, it is drinking well now but should continue to be great another 5-7 years.
Winery Notes
Impeccably balanced, this Chardonnay reflects its cool-climate coastal roots with aromas of lemon zest, apricot, and delicate orange blossom. On the palate, vibrant notes of golden apple and pineapple are elevated by bright acidity, delivering focus and energy to a crisp, refreshing finish.
The 2023 growing season began with a long, wet winter, followed by an early spring that delayed budbreak across the Central Coast. Moderate spring weather provided near-ideal conditions for bloom, while the mild temperatures persisted into summer. This extended the ripening period by an additional month, allowing the fruit to achieve exceptional ripeness with a harmonious balance of acidity and concentration.
In 1975, legendary vintner and pioneer Josh Jensen founded Calera (Spanish for “lime kiln”) high in the Gavilan Mountains of California’s majestic Central Coast. In the four decades since, Calera has helped establish the Central Coast as one of the New World’s most exciting wine regions, while earning acclaim as one of California’s iconic wineries. Sourced from some of the appellation’s finest vineyards, the Calera Central Coast Chardonnay has become a benchmark for the region, balancing lush richness with beautiful minerality and bright citrus flavors.

Loveblock Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2023 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2023
The Tasting Panel 93 Points | This wine glistens with bright acidity accented by pink grapefruit and just-sliced pineapple. Candied green apple punctuates the midpalate with appealing salinity and crispness.
The Wine Spectator 90 Points | A distinctive white, with white pepper and lemongrass notes, plus a whiff of lemon mint that adds aromatic interest to the core of lemon-lime and apple on a smooth and juicy frame. Demonstrates elegance on the finish. Drink now. 35,000 cases imported.
Vinous 90 Points | This is not your average 2023 Sauvignon Blanc. It's aromatically intriguing, with different layers appearing with every sniff. Initially, there are notes of medicinal herbs, followed by blackcurrant, green capsicum, passion fruit and even lime. Perhaps the diversity of scents could be attributed to the combination of fermentations across tanks, oak barrels, concrete eggs and amphorae. The palate is focused on texture: there's reassuring padding on the mid-palate despite being light in body, while there's drive and punch on the dry, herbal finish.
Winemaker Description
Pale straw with a hint of green and gold. Complex and elegant Sauvignon Blanc bouquet, with citrus blossom and wild flowers, surrounded by crushed ripe herbs and pineapple. Dense fruit core of juicy melon and peach complemented by hints of ripe herbs and florals. The vines have an average age of 25 years. After a manual harvest, the grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled vats and left on the fine lees for six months prior to bottling.
Situated 25 miles southeast of the city of Bordeaux, Château La Rame is among the oldest and most renowned properties in the Sainte-Croix-du-Mont appellation. The estate, which sits on a hill overlooking the Garonne River, was the property of the Baron de Vertheuil, Governor of the Ile d’Oleron, after the French Revolution.
It has been recognized throughout its history as one of the prime sites for producing outstanding wine (gold medals at exhibitions in Bordeaux in 1895 and in Paris in 1900). The property was purchased by Claude Armand, the father of the current owner, Yves Armand, at a time when the appellation had fallen out of favor. The Armand family has undertaken to re-establish Sainte-Croix-du-Mont as an appellation of merit set to rival the great estates of Sauternes and Barsac.

Bassermann-Jordan Riesling Trocken Pfalz ORGANIC 2024 750ml
Winemaker Description
It shows the style of the house and the typicality of the different soils around the winery. A dry Palatinate Riesling with fine fruit, elegant acidity and gripping minerality.
The history of the Bassermann-Jordan winery is one that is intertwined with the history of winemaking in Pfalz. In 1718, Pierre Jordan purchased the family's first vineyards in Pfalz, while Johann-Peter Jordan built the winery in Deidesheim 65 years later. Around the turn of the century, Andreas Jordan elevated quality winemaking in Pfalz by becoming one of the first growers in the area to plant single varieties by vineyard and was also one of the first winemakers to vinify each vineyard separately. A marriage between the Bassermann and Jordan families added the name Bassermann to the winery in 1883. Bassermann-Jordan is one of the founding members of the VDP, Germany's top organization to ensure quality wine.
Francois et Julien Pinon Vouvray Blanc Sec de Qualite Buvez du Bon Pinon 2022 750ml
Our Professional Review
Bart Hopkins of 67Wine.com writes | Chenin Blanc is a grape that generally flies under the radar screen, which to me is baffling given its charming character and pleasant drinkability. Father and son Francois and Julien Pinon work exclusively with Chenin Blanc on their 15 hectare estate in the Vallée de Cousse. Their work in the vineyard is in complete in harmony with natural and they have been certified organic by Ecocert since 2003.
The 2022 Vouvray Buvez du Bon Pinon sports a gorgeous bouquet reminiscent of a walk through an orchard field during spring blossom. Aromas of white stone fruits, peaches, pears, wildflower honey and quince emerge from the glass with lively fanfare. Energetic and effortless in the mouth with refreshing lift and well balanced vibrant acidity, with a long and tangy delicious finish.
This is a wine that will add cheerful accompaniment to chicken, seafood, salads and vegetable dishes.
Expert Review - Vintage 2022
John Gilman - The View From The Cellar writes 94 Points | The special old vine bottling of Vouvray Sec, “Buvez du Bon Pinon”, made its debut in the 2020 vintage. Readers may remember that Julien Pinon made this wine in hommage to his greatgrandfather, Camille Pinon, and the wine is made from vines planted by Camille in the immediate aftermath of World War II in 1945, in a parcel of Silex Noir soils. The wine is barrel-fermented and raised in the same old casks, which happen to be the oldest that the family still owns. The 2022 follow-up to the brilliant 2020 version is also outstanding, offering up a deep and complex bouquet of apple, quince, beeswax, flinty soil tones, white lilies, iris blossoms and a touch of citrus peel in the upper register. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied, young and complex, with a rock solid core of fruit from these ancient vines, great soil signature, zesty acids and superb balance on the long, vibrant and very promising finish. The 2022 version is a touch more reticent out of the blocks than the 2020, which wore its heart on its sleeve upon release, and tucking this beautiful bottle of Vouvray in the cellars for a handful of years before pulling corks would be well rewarded.

Domaine Olivier Foucher Sancerre Le Chant Du Selix 2024 750ml
Winemaker Description
Olivier Foucher followed a classic career path: studies in viticulture and oenology, a few years of collaboration with his parents and taking over the family estate after his father's retirement in 2011. Today, he and his wife cultivate 10.5 hectares of vines.
Light lemon in color, the wine has a delicate floral scent, with a touch of lime zest and tangerine on the nose. The palate is full of white-fleshed fruits — particularly peach and pear — that blend with more exotic, softer notes of grapefruit and papaya.
Wave after wave of mouth-puckering acidity and a mineral-packed finish will keep you coming back for more! Perhaps the most impressive feature of the wine is its impeccable balance of flavor intensity, structural tension, and length: everything is where it should be, making this Sauvignon Blanc almost too easy to drink.
Memo Summary Notes
"Le Chant du Silex" (The Song of the Flint) suggests, the grapes are grown in Silex (flinty) soils. This specific soil type is prized in Sancerre for imparting a smoky, "gunflint" minerality and great aging potential to the wine.
The focus is on precision and "tension," aiming for a wine that is energetic and bright rather than overly tropical.
Silver Medal: Awarded at the 2025 Concours Mondial du Sauvignon for the 2024 vintage.
67 Wine (Bart Hopkins): Praised as a "classic mineral-driven Sancerre with excellent precision.

This Grüner Veltliner is a blend of wines sourced from different terraced vineyards. The elevated terraces consist of stonier soils (schisted granite). The vines there show aromatic expression, good acidity, elegant stone fruit and lots of minerals. The lower sited terraces mostly of layered fertile loess show more body and ripeness. By combining those two characteristics you get a really classic Grüner Veltliner with both finesse and a certain vigor.
Mohua Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2023 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2023
The Tasting Panel 93 Points | Intense aromas of straw, grapefruit, and elderflower appear on the palate with their vibrancy intact. Pineapple upside-down cake, chervil, green tea, and glistening notes of lime zest are memorable. Elegant, with a lovely presence.
Memo Summary Notes
The 2023 Mohua Sauvignon Blanc is a bright, high-energy white wine from New Zealand’s premier Marlborough region. Named after one of New Zealand's rarest birds, the Mohua (Yellowhead), the winery is committed to sustainable practices and active bird conservation.
The 2023 vintage is highly rated for its "classic" Marlborough profile—punchy, aromatic, and incredibly refreshing.
The high acidity and herbal undertones make it a perfect match for:
• Fresh Seafood: Fish tacos with lime, oysters, or pan-fried snapper. Salads: Spinach salad with strawberries and feta, or an herbed goat cheese tart. Aperitif: It is light enough to be enjoyed on its own as a refreshing "backyard" summer wine.

Umani Ronchi Verdicchio Classico Superiore Casal di Serra Organic 2023 750ml
Winemaker Description
Straw yellow color with golden hints, to the nose it shows intense and persistent perfumes of wild flowers and aromas of yellow pulp fruit such as peach, apricot and golden apple. To the palate it’s rich and velvety with a good dose of freshness and sapidity to balance the great softness. Dry finish, persistent and intensely fruity.
It was created in the 1980s by selecting the best grapes grown in the Montecarotto vineyard, and later enriched with grapes from another three plots situated in the most suitable areas for cultivating Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi. All the values of a great indigenous variety find expression in this wine. Contact with its own natural yeasts during fermentation and in the ageing process gives Casal di Serra particular properties of richness and personality, without altering its fine balance and special elegance.
Ideal with fish dishes, oven-cooked or grilled, roast white meat and fresh cheeses.
