The 2025 pours bright straw-yellow with shimmering hints of gold and a fine, persistent perlage. The nose is intensely aromatic — ripe peach, apricot, rose petals, acacia flowers and a whisper of ginger. The palate is sweet and delicate, with modest acidity, excellent balance and a lingering finish of fresh apricot and white flowers. Serve well chilled at 43–46°F and enjoy young while its freshness and aromatics are at their peak.

Coming from vines located mainly at the bottom of hillsides and on granite soil, this Pinot Blanc borders on insolence in its elegance and deliciousness. It is very far from the classic style that is often found in Alsatian Pinot Blancs, which is quite simple. Here, Jean Boxler has done a real job in the vineyards as well as in the winemaking where we feel a much finer and more mineral side.

On the palate, the attack is precise, there is, as with his Sylvaner, a beautiful maturity that brings a real delicacy. The wine has a sensual texture, very silky, no aggressiveness emerges.

This is really not just a simple Pinot Blanc, it is extraordinarily long, precise and delicious.

Vinous 94 Points | The 2022 Chardonnay Alta Historic Rows originates from Gualtallary and Villa Bastías, Uco Valley vineyards. It was aged up to 14 months in a combination of new and used barrels. Yellow in hue with a golden sheen. The floral nose presents appealing green apple, cedar, and nut aromas with hints of fennel and quince in the background. On the palate, it has a creamy, chalky texture and tart acidity resulting in a taut, refreshing mouthfeel. A well-crafted Chardonnay that sums up the advantages of high-altitude vineyards. 

James Suckling 94 Points |  Pie crust, smoked pineapple, lemon curd and zesty citrus on the palate. Medium-bodied, showing fresh, creamy fruit and a lengthy finish. Drink or hold.

Winemaker Description 

This small-production Albarino comes from a mix of young and very old vines, made to be a pure, straight-to-the-point take on the bracing variety! The citrus blossom top notes, and core fruit character of apple & nectarine, come with a wash of powerful, saline-like acidity into the well-balanced finish, making for a mouthwateringly delicious experience.

Pedro’s Albariño collection is from the Salnés Valley hamlet, Meaño. If I were to draw a comparison to Pedro’s wines and our other growers in Rías Baixas, I’d say they’re more powerful than those of Manuel Moldes and, perhaps of equal power to Xesteiriña, but are more contained and classically styled than the latter. Pedro’s Albariños have broad shoulders, a compact core and megathrust. This may be partly due to the older average vine age of his many parcels, and, in some cases, deeper topsoil. Moldes’ cru Albariños are on schist, with his Afelio on the mostly granite. Xesteiriña harvests from a single plot of extremely hard metamorphic rock with almost no topsoil. The bedrock is somewhere between medium- to high-grade metamorphic rock: some looks like gneiss while others look like schist. Xesteiriña’s rock type is probably the rarest of all in Salnés with vineyards planted.

Mike DeSimone of the Wine Enthusiast writes 91 Points | Pale yellow in color, this wine offers a bouquet of Gala apple and honeysuckle. Valencia orange, bergamot and dried-thyme flavors fade into a finish marked with touch of lemon grass. 

Winemaker Description 

Moderately deep soils except for Marges which brings its characteristic freshness and youth. The Rigolet y Baja, terroirs which add the concentration are terroirs of Miocene marl earth which allows the vine to absorb only the quantity of water necessary for adequate growth.

Sabate i Coca Castellroig Xarello 'So Blanc'

Fruity and creamy with apple aromas, pineapple, fennel, dried fruits and pine nuts. Intense in the mouth, dense and with a bitter edge that is highly distinctive and pleasant, preserving the freshness of the wine, and with a lightly sweet sensation at the end.

Pheasant's Tears is one of Georgia's most celebrated natural wine producers, founded by Gela Patalishvili — an 8th-generation winemaker from the Kakheti region — and John Wurdeman, an American painter who fell in love with Georgia and its ancient wine culture in 1998. Together, they have dedicated themselves to preserving and reviving Georgia's extraordinary 8,000-year-old winemaking heritage, farming around ten indigenous grape varieties without pesticides or herbicides and vinifying everything in qvevri — traditional clay amphorae buried in the earth, used in Georgia since the Neolithic era.

Kisi is a rare and ancient Georgian white grape variety grown almost exclusively in the Kakheti region, in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains. At Pheasant's Tears, it is vinified in the traditional Georgian manner: fermented and aged in qvevri with extended skin maceration of six months — producing what Georgians call an "amber wine" and the rest of the world has come to know as "orange wine." The result is a wine of extraordinary depth, texture, and complexity that has no real equivalent in the conventional wine world.

The 2024 Kisi is deep amber-gold in the glass. The nose is captivating — dried apricot, quince, honey, beeswax, dried flowers, and a hint of walnut, with an earthy, almost ancient quality that speaks directly to the qvevri. On the palate, unusually powerful structure with grippy, polished tannins — rare in a white wine — balanced by bright acidity and a long, complex, spiced finish. Not aggressive, but deeply serious. The Australian Wine Companion 91 Points | Yalumba continues to grace us with a range of wines made from viognier, from entry-level to aspirational, that convey a deep understanding of both the variety and site. Pale straw with green flashes and aromas of lemon, grapefruit and apricot along with hints of lemon sorbet, wildflowers, a liminal whiff of white pepper and stone. Flecks of dried herbs join in on the palate, which is stony and savoury, lingering nicely as it fades away. A great introduction to the variety. 

James Suckling 91 Points | A fresh, juicy and precise viognier with aroma of peaches, apricots and fresh flowers. Medium-bodied with fresh acidity. Vivid and playful, with a refreshing finish.

Pure aromas reminiscent of fresh apricots, lifted ginger, saffron and fresh white flowers. The palate is long, rich, and luscious, with intense and expressive stone fruit flavors finishing with an alluring freshness. This wine will continue to grow and develop in the bottle, firstly showing enhanced apricots and spice, then honey flavors and toast complexity.

Luis Gutierrez writes:  The white 2020 Blanco is a little closed, young, clean and tender with subtle oak. They produced a little bit more in 2020, and the wine has less oak and less buttery sensations, a change that started with the 2017 vintage, which seems to have found its style harvesting earlier to retain freshness; it has 13.04% alcohol and a pH @ 3.23 and matured in larger oak containers, 500-liter oak barrels and some concrete for 12 months. It's floral and expressive, a blend of Viura with 20% Garnacha Blanca that they still consider work in progress but moving in the direction they want to go. 16,200 bottles and 100 magnums were filled in March 2022.  Drinking 2022 to 2028.  - Robert Parker Wine Advocate 93

Winemaker Notes

Contino Blanco 2020 shows a very intense nose, marked by its aging in barrel. It is fresh and fruity wine, a true reflection of the identity of our vineyard. San Gregorio offers a Garnacha Blanca with great complexity and volume. The soils are clayey-calcareous, with medium stoniness, key for good drainage.

Christina Pickard of the Wine Enthusiast writes 93 Points | Lime leaf, waxy citrus, white peach notes and a hint of honey open this Clare Valley Riesling. The combo of dryness, cheek-sucking, orange peel acidity and chalky texture makes for a somewhat austere wine solo, but pair with a creamy goat's cheese or seafood risotto and watch it shine. 

Producer Description 

Originally a pastoral run dating back to 1839, and originally named Wolta Wolta, Jim Barry purchased the land for The Lodge Hill Vineyard in 1977 as he was sure it would “produce some of the best Riesling in the Clare Valley.” Situated at 480 meters above sea level and situated on the Eastern Ranges of the Clare Valley, the grapes at our Lodge Hill Vineyard are exposed to concentrated bursts of sunlight and cool nights which encourage slower ripening. This helps deliver beautiful natural acidity and citrus characters that ripen early because of the small crop it produces. Gentle pressing and a rapid move into the fermentation allows the natural fruit flavors to be preserved.

Aromas of fresh lime, spice, citrus blossom, white peach, and nectarine skins open on the nose. In the mouth, the lime flavors take center stage commanding attention on entry. The fruit is fleshy with considerable weight and framed with a refreshing driving acid. A lot of wine!

Nino Negri Alpi Retiche Nebbiolo Bianco 2024 750ml

Nino Negri is the benchmark producer of the Valtellina, Lombardy's dramatic Alpine wine zone where Nebbiolo — known locally as Chiavennasca — clings to steep granite terraces above the Adda River. But this wine is something else entirely: a white wine made from Nebbiolo. The Alpi Retiche Bianco has been produced since 1978, making Nino Negri one of the earliest pioneers of blanc de noirs-style winemaking in Italy. The red grapes are harvested and immediately soft-pressed with the skins removed at once, preserving the freshness and aromatics of the fruit without a trace of color.

Grown at 350–600 meters altitude on shallow sandy loam soils in the Rhaetian Alps, the 2024 is a wine of delicate precision and mountain freshness — light, bright, and harmonious, with a mineral backbone that speaks clearly of its Alpine origins. A nectar from one end of the tasting to the other! An intensely golden adornment, a nose of perfectly over-ripe Chenin, underlined by great elegance, a note of almond cream, quince, very ripe peach skin.

The palate is very straight, freshness, tension and sweetness so well integrated, a finish of candy sugar crystals but also the fine bitterness of the schists, it is a very beautiful vintage, a wine built to last and already so pleasant to taste now. Stephan Reinhardt writes:  The 2021 Sand & Kalk is a pure Weissburgunder (a.k.a. Pinot Blanc) that was vinified in 600-liter oak barrels (5% new) for almost a year. Bottled in September this year and released in November, the wine offers a clear and aromatic, very elegant and balanced bouquet of ripe, white and yellow seed fruits. Medium-bodied yet dense and intensely fruity, with fine phenolic grip and delicate citrus bitters, this is a textural and very elegant Pinot Blanc with a refreshing and stimulating bitter finish with lingering lemon aromas. This is another excellent white that should be paired with raw fish, freshwater fish, seafood, white meat or cheese. This is a lovely, uncomplicated but structured terroir wine for the Buchertberg in Vulkanland Steiermark. Marketed as Landwein, though. 12.5% stated alcohol. Winemaker Description 

Seductively fresh Pinot Blanc with orange zest, honeysuckle flowers, and lemongrass and a luscious texture from the bit of skin contact that we greet us like a big soft hug. He manages to coax an intense amount of flavor out a relatively neutral grape, and we think it could go with anything from a bitter green salad with winter citrus to roasted chicken, pork tenderloin or seared scallops. This could easily be our everyday white! 

Because it has a nice, round body and prominent fruit, it also works as a Chardonnay alternative for those seeking a white with a bit more meat on the bones.

The HERRENHOF was a former wine estate of the Vorau Abbey. I started this project in 2006 from scratch, without vines. It required me 15 years to rebuild the winery. Since I have always been very close to nature, it is clear to me that I grow and vinify my wines exclusively organically. I want to bring the taste of the land where I grew up into the bottle of wine. Gottfried Lamprecht. 

The wine project at the HERRENHOF is pretty young. I've started to recutivate vineyards on this perfect slope in the year 2006 completely from the scratch. My mission: I want to present the Buchertberg, the place where I grew up in a bottle of wine. Because wine just can do that! Everything is harvested by hand of course. What makes me a special wine grower? I ferment 100% in barrels. 50% of my barrels are made of wood from my own forest. This brings my wines much closer to my terroir - closer to the Buchertberg, the place where I grew up. After fermentation the wines stay on their lees till bottling. Prior bottling I just about 20mg of Sulphur or less, or nothing and anything else. It depends on the wine.

Kozlovic is family winery that started in 1904 in the Valle Valley of Istria, Croatia. The estate has been passed down from generation to generation, and the importance of family is at the center of what Kozlovic does. The vineyards are planted to the local varietals Malvazija, Muscat Momiano, Muscat Rose and Teran and grown on the hills of Valle, Santa Lucia and Kontarini in clay soils known locally as "Terra Bianca" (a mix of flysch, limestone and white clay). The Kozlovic Malvazija is made from 100% Malvasia Istriana, fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks for a few months and then aged in bottle for another two months. A small percentage of Malvazija is fermented and aged in oak barrels, then added back to the wine. Highly aromatic, the wine displays notes of acacia flowers, peaches, apples and herbs. On the palate, the wine features a bold, refreshing acidity that is mouth-watering. There is a wonderful mineral complexity with a subtle salinity on the palate and finish. This is an incredibly food-friendly wine that can pair with scampi risotto, scallops, white fish or pasta.

Winemaker Description 

Kisi is one an indigenous varietal native of the Republic of Georgia. Petnat also known as "Petulant Natural Method Ancestral" is the original sparkling wine. Kisi is farmed in a biodynamic, regenerative vineyard planted over a dried up river bed.

The fruit is hand harvested and the wine is skin contact macerated in qvevri. Qvevri's are amphora buried in ground to control their temperature. Once the is done its maceration and still undergoing spontaneous, wild yeast fermentation, its bottled prematurely without additives and allowed to finish its fermentation in the bottle.

Herzog Special Reserve Chenin Blanc — Clarksburg, California 2024

Herzog Wine Cellars is California’s most celebrated kosher winery, and the Special Reserve series represents their finest expression — small-lot, artisan winemaking from California’s most regarded wine-growing regions. This Chenin Blanc comes from estate-grown old vines in Clarksburg, a cool Sacramento Delta appellation ideally suited to the variety. Left to ripen late into the season, low yields and botrytis bring about complex, concentrated flavors. Barrel fermented with native yeast and aged 12 months on a blend of 41% new French oak and 59% neutral French oak. Fined and filtered. Kosher.

The nose is aromatic and inviting: quince, baked apple, orange peel, and dried chamomile. On the palate, flavors of persimmon and pear layer with hints of lemon curd and brioche, carrying through to a long, pleasing finish.
