A pleasant freshness with a successful combination of red fruits such as cherries and currants; the short aging in wood rounds off the palate, providing notes of laurel and toast in perfect balance with its acidity.

Blandy's 5 Year Old Medium Dry Verdelho Madeira 750ml
Winemaker Description
Blandy's 5-year old Verdelho is a dark golden brown in color with the characteristic aromatic complexity of Madeira wines - raisins, dried apricots, roasted nuts, toffee and a distinctive marine note. Great with many desserts especially fruit based tarts, cakes, cheeses. Also, a great accompaniment to foie gras.
Clear, topaz color, with a golden rim. Complex nose, revealing a fresh bouquet with raisins, dried fruits, wood and spices.
Verdelho grapes are hand-harvested and fermented off the skins in stainless steel tanks. Neutral grape spirit is added to stop the fermentation at the desired level of sweetness. Then, the wines are aged in American oak casks and heated in the traditional Canteiro system, meaning they are transferred from higher floors in the lodge where it is warm to cooler floors below. The wine is regularly racked before bottling.
The island of Madeira is known for its distinctive varietal wines. Each varietal defines a particular style. Madeira wines are typically made from only one varietal, each made in one of the four Madeira styles: Dry, Medium-Dry, Medium Rich, and Rich. Madeira wines are fortified with grape spirit and have higher alcohol than so-called 'light' wines.

Bodega Colome Estate Torrontes Valle Calchaqui 2025 750ml
Bodega Colomé · Estate Torrontés · Valle Calchaquí · Salta · Argentina · 2025
Bodega Colomé is one of Argentina’s oldest and most celebrated wineries, farming at extreme elevations in the Calchaquí Valley of Salta — some of the highest vineyards in the world. At altitude, the intense sun, cool nights, and thin mountain air produce Torrontés of extraordinary aromatic precision and freshness: floral, citrus-driven, and refreshingly dry — a world away from the heavy, low-acid expressions that gave the grape an undeserved reputation. The 2025 Estate Torrontés earned 91 points from Vinous as a Best Buy, praised for its fresher, more mineral style. Screwcap.
The 2025 opens with herbal and floral notes of tuberose, rose, soft mint, and gentle lime, with grapefruit citrus and a spicy hint. On the palate, it is dry yet slightly indulgent — lively, fresh, and vibrant, balancing herbal, citrus, and floral characteristics with a long, elegant, mineral finish. A quintessential high-elevation Torrontés, built for the table.
“Opens with herbal and floral notes of tuberose, soft mint and gentle lime. Dry yet slightly indulgent, it offers lively freshness. A fresher style of Torrontés than is typical for the valley, balancing herbal, citrus and floral characteristics. Vibrant and delicious. A best buy.”

Bodega Garzón Reserva Albaríno Uruguay 2025 750ml
Bodega Garzón · Reserva Albaríno · Maldonado · Uruguay · 2025 · 750ml
Bodega Garzón is Uruguay’s most celebrated winery — and one of the most ambitious wine projects in all of South America. Located in the Maldonado department near the Atlantic coast, the estate was built from scratch on a dramatic hillside of granite and basalt soils, with a philosophy rooted in terroir-driven winemaking and sustainable viticulture. Garzón has single-handedly put Uruguayan Albaríno on the world map, producing expressions that regularly rival the best from the grape’s native Galicia in northwest Spain. The Reserva Albaríno is aged on fine lees in stainless steel for three to six months, preserving the grape’s natural freshness and mineral character while adding texture and roundness. At $19.99, this is one of the most exciting and undervalued white wines in the shop.
Pale yellow with greenish reflections in the glass, with a fresh, aromatic nose of ripe peach, citrus blossom, and a distinctive mineral salinity that speaks directly to the Atlantic-influenced terroir. On the palate: crisp and vibrant, with bright citrus fruit, stone fruit, and a marked acidity that gives the wine real energy and focus. The lees aging adds a subtle roundness and a long, clean, mineral finish that lingers beautifully. Serve well-chilled as an aperitif, or pair with grilled shrimp, oysters, ceviche, grilled fish, or light seafood pasta.

Bodega Vivaltus Vivaltus Ribera del Duero 2018 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2018
Tim Atkin 98 Points | The maiden 2016 vintage has only just been released through the Place de Bordeaux, so it may be a little premature to review this 2018, but make sure you remind yourself to buy a case in two years' time. Produced without Cabernet Sauvignon for the first time, it's the polar opposite of the big, ripe, overwooded styles of Ribera. Nuanced, refined and hauntingly balanced, with perfumed oak, lovely texture and balance, leafy, graphite-like complexity and the length of a world-class wine. 2023-35.
Jane Anson 95 Points | Muscular, slate hewn tannins, this has a rugged quality where nothing is overpowered by oak and yet it hugs the palate, making its presence felt. Serious tannic architecture that softens through the mid palate to show creamy raspberry and red cherry fruits, spiced aniseed, fennel and liqourice root, sinewy tannins, totally moreish. Aged in 25% new oak, 10% amphora, and the rest in neutral barrels. Jean-Claude and Jeff Berrouet consultants, with winemaker Montxo Martinez and owners Marcos and Carlos Yllera. Old vine Tempranillo, including some dating right back to pre-Phylloxera, sat at between 750m and 1000m altitude, from a selection of their own vines, and those of local growers.
Memo Summary Notes
The 2018 Bodega Vivaltus "Vivaltus" is a prestigious, "new wave" Ribera del Duero that has rapidly gained cult status. It is the flagship wine of a project by the Yllera family, who famously enlisted Jean-Claude Berrouet—the legendary former winemaker of Château Pétrus—to help create a wine of "Bordeaux-like" elegance rather than the heavy, over-extracted style common in the region.
Bodegas Albamar Albarino Rias Baixas 2024 750ml
Bodegas Albamar Albariño — Rías Baixas, Galicia 2024
Bodegas Albamar is one of the most exciting estates in Rías Baixas, farming a wide range of parcels in and around Castrelo in the Salné s Valley — the heart of Galicia's Atlantic wine country. Their flagship Albariño is hand-harvested from sandy, granite-based soils that produce wines of exceptional aromatic precision and mineral tension. Spontaneously fermented and raised primarily in tank with a small percentage of neutral oak foudre, with no malolactic fermentation, it is a wine of purity, focus, and genuine terroir expression.
The nose is clean and precise: lemon zest, a dusting of sea salt, flint, green apple, and yellow kiwi — the unmistakable signature of Atlantic Galicia. On the palate, it is serious and austere beyond the varietal notes, with excellent ripeness, beautifully integrated acidity, and a dry, chalky finish that lingers with mineral elegance. The 2024 vintage is defined by balance — and Albamar delivers it in spades.
Wine Advocate 93 Points — "Clean and precise, serious and austere beyond the varietal notes, with good ripeness and very good balance and a dry, chalky finish. I think 2024's main characteristic is balance." (Vintage 2024).

Bodegas Alto Moncayo Campo de Borja Grenache Locos Por El Vino Zismero 2023 750ml
Winemaker Description
"Locos por el Vino” is a new project from Bodegas Alto Moncayo, aiming to expand their range with high-quality, modern and casual wines produced from the winery’s youngest vineyards, guaranteeing the continuity of the Alto Moncayo project for future generations to come. Enjoy with chicken and rice dishes, barbeque, or pasta with vegetables.

Bodegas Antidoto Ribera del Duero Soria 2024 750ml
Bodegas Antídoto Ribera del Duero 2024 | Tempranillo | Soria, Spain | 750ml
Antídoto comes from the far eastern reaches of Ribera del Duero — the Soria province, a wilder, less-traveled corner of the appellation where the rules are looser and the vineyards are older. Bertrand Sourdais and David Hernando work with up to 400 different parcels of old, ungrafted Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) vines rooted in a patchwork of limestone, decomposed granite, and clay. The project is biodynamic and organic in spirit, with spontaneous fermentation, no fining, no filtering, and minimal intervention throughout.
The 2024 vintage is a more delicate, fine-boned expression than prior years — fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, then aged nine months in 600-liter French oak barrels (25% new). The result is juicy and full-bodied but balanced: black cherry, plum skins, dried herbs, and a kiss of vanilla spice, with firm, chewy tannins and a pristine finish. Very primary now — worth a year or two of patience, but already compelling.
Critical Acclaim - Vintage 2024:
- Wine Advocate: 91–92 pts — "Juicy and full-bodied but balanced... soft vinification... fine-boned. Very primary, with some toasted notes that suggest waiting a bit more."
- James Suckling: 91 pts — "Fresh and pure... full of black cherries, plum skins and some dried herbs. Tannins are firm and nicely chewy with medium to full body and a pristine finish."
- Tim Atkin: 91 pts — "A comparatively forward, easy-drinking style with some subtle reduction, plum, raspberry and black cherry fruit and a kiss of vanilla spice."
- Appellation: Ribera del Duero, Soria, Spain
- Grape: 100% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino)
- Vintage: 2024
- Farming: Biodynamic & organic
- Vinification: Spontaneous fermentation, no fining, no filtering
- Aging: 9 months in 600L French oak (25% new)
- Best With: Roast lamb, Ibérico, aged Manchego, grilled mushrooms, braised short rib
Bodegas Arzuaga La Planta Ribera del Duero 2023 750ml
Winemaker Description
The wine has been crafted from grapes cultivated at La Planta estate, owned by Arzuaga Navarro’s family in Quintanilla de Onésimo, the heart of Ribera del Duero. The soil is clay-calcareous and the subsoil is pure limestone at one meter under the surface. The vineyard altitude is 911 meters above sea level. These specific conditions provide distinct features of the wine.
The wine boasts a deep violet red color. Clean and bright with a range of red fruits (raspberry and cherry) that dominate with a high aromatic intensity, joined by balsamic, cacao, coffee, and roasted tones. Fresh, elegant, easy, and balanced in the mouth with a lightly sweet, toasted, and pleasant aftertaste.

Bodegas Beronia Rioja GRAN Reserva 2018 750ml
Beronia Wineries: Experience the Excellence of Rioja GRAN Reserva 2018
Our Professional Review
Oscar Garcia 67Wine.com | Beronia Gran Reserva is one of my favorite Gran Reservas. Every vintage seems to get better and better. The long-term aging Gran Reserva gives the wine time to develop a great arrange of flavors and nuances, not found in younger wines. Aromas of toasty oak, cassis, dark plum and cedar. Medium to full-bodied. Great length and integration. Serious but approachable.
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2018
James Suckling 92 Points | Attractive nose with a hint of walnut husk and dark earth to the black cherries and sweet tobacco. A hint of truffle and sous-bois, too. Medium-bodied on the palate with firm, dusty tannins that grow and extend in a long, succulent finish. Tempranillo, graciano and mazuelo.
The Wine Enthusiast 92 Points | Deep violet to the eye, this wine has a nose of black plum, dark chocolate and dried hillside herbs. Bold red berry flavors are joined by plush tannins and deeper notes of mocha, truffle and thyme. As flavors and textures wind down on the palate, a note of orange zest remains.
The Wine Spectator 90 Points | A classy red, fresh and fragrant, with notes of bay leaf, pepper and tar-tinged mineral accenting crushed cherry and blackberry fruit flavors. Shows good focus, with lightly chalky tannins in a medium-bodied frame. Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano. Drink now through 2026. 50,000 cases made, 3,500 cases imported.
Memo Summary Notes
The Bodegas Beronia Rioja Gran Reserva 2018 represents the pinnacle of Beronia’s classic lineup. While the Mi Villa you looked at earlier is fresh and unoaked, this Gran Reserva is the complete opposite: a wine defined by patience, extensive aging, and complex secondary flavors.
A wine of this stature needs "heavy lifters" to match its intensity:
-
-
Game: Roasted duck or wild boar ragu.
-
Mature Cheeses: Aged Manchego, Roncal, or even a salty Blue cheese.
-
Umami Dishes: Anything involving truffles or wild forest mushrooms.
Red Meats: Slow-roasted lamb shanks, prime rib, or venison.
-

Bodegas Cepa 21 HITO Ribera del Duero ROSE 2023 750ml

The Spanish word “Hito” means milestone — a stonepost used to indicate direction or distance on roads, or to delimit fields. A clean, bright pale pink in color, the nose reveals sweet, fruity aromas of ripe strawberries, red currants, and rose florals. On the palate, it is refreshing, balanced, and lively with a good acidity that makes it easy to drink. A benchmark rosé from one of Ribera del Duero’s most celebrated producers.

Bodegas CEPA 21 Malabrigo Ribera del Duero 2019 1.5L Magnum

Bodegas del Rio Manzanilla Fina Solera Playa Azul Joven 750ml
Winemaker Description
A young Manzanilla with four year of biological aging. Thanks to the proximity of the sea, the aging under flor is intense. The wine has complex character, resulting in great elegance, plenty of finesse, with a delicate and saline finish.
Our Notes
A vibrant young Manzanilla with plenty of character. Aromas of green olives, green citrus fruit, and a pungent saline quality bind all the aromas and flavors together. Serve well-chilled in a white wine glass and pair with Marcona almonds, potato crisps, and Jamón de Bellota. But also try it with cold potato and leek soup, sprinkled with crisp bits of pancetta. Manzanillas are my ideal apéritif wine to awaken the palate before a meal.

Bodegas Habla Habla La Tierra Tempranillo Extremadura 2021 750ml
Winemaker Description
The Habla la Tierra is a cuvée of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The grapes come from quite young vines planted around 2000 on slate soils. After the harvest, the grapes were cool pre-fermented and then fermented in stainless steel fermenters.
This was followed by ageing in French wood for four to five months. The Habla de la Tierra presents itself juicy ripe, dark and spicy on the nose. The unusual cuvée of Tempranillo, Cabernet and Syrah alternates between the scent of freshly sliced plums, figs, ripe elderberries, peonies and black pepper as well as anise, earthy pray and black tea. In addition, one thinks one can already perceive a trace of extract sweetness in the fragrance.
The Habla la Tierra 2021 shows itself very juicy on the palate. The dark fruit is ripe and accompanied by earthy aromas and herbal spice. In addition, a cool, fresh vein runs through the wine, while the tannin proves to be ripe and delicate. The red wine is down-to-earth in the most pleasant sense, uncomplicated and easy to drink, and at the same time it has character.
Currently, it should be caraffed. Food recommendations by Christoph Raffelt. Spanish blood sausage - with braised apples and onions with mashed potatoes Braised rabbit with sage and piment d'Espelette. Spelt Salad with Roasted Peppers and Feta.
Bodegas Hermanos Pecina Finca Iscorta Gran Reserva Rioja 2015 (Pre-Sale...ETA April 15, 2026)
95 Jeb Dunnuck: From one site, the 2015 Finca Iscorta De Pecina Gran Reserva has more density, more alcohol, more color, and more black fruit on the palate and should age outstandingly. Finca Iscorta is the winery’s oldest vineyard, which it treats as a grand cru, only making the wine in worthy years. The next won’t be until 2019. Strong and powerful in tannin and full-bodied weight, it could go another 20-30 years, so intensely concentrated, spiced, and textured, from both a powerful year and a powerful site. It spent four years in used American oak.
94 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: A more modern Gran Reserva from a single vineyard, the 2015 Finca Iscorta de Peciña Gran Reserva was produced with the grapes from a 50-year-old vineyard, fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel with a moderate extraction and short-ish maceration. It matured in used American oak barrels for four years and was racked every six months. It's a little darker, the color and the fruit profile, and it's intensely balsamic, with notes of camphor and abundant spicy notes. It's solid and seamless and fills your mouth; it's powerful with 15% alcohol and 6.2 grams of acidity, ripe but balanced.
Winemaker Notes
Tempranillo from a single vineyard named Finca Iscorta. The vineyard is a total of 8 hectares and only the best fruit goes to this bottling. The vines are on average 50 years old and bush pruned.
Bodegas Hidalgo La Gitana Wellington Palo Cortado VOS 20yrs Jerez-Xeres-Sherry 500 ml
Producer Description
Palo Cortado is unusual, in that it first ages under a film of yeast ‘flor’ which protects it from oxygen, but unexpectedly loses its flor and ultimately ages oxidatively. Only 1-2% of all sherries produced ultimately become a Palo Cortado. Thus, the freshness of Manzanilla and Oloroso and the complexity of dry Amontillado are combined. When aged over twenty years it is entitled to the designation VOS (Very Old Sherry). This sherry was once sold to British troops under the name ‘Wellington’, and the 1st Duke of Wellington’s portrait is still used on the label today.
The palate is full rich and rounded. A very light amber color given its advanced age, and a bouquet that demands attention. Delicate and pure on the nose. Penetrating aromas, nutty yet with tangy freshness. Completely dry, but notes of butterscotch and walnuts. A clean, racy style, with almond and hazelnut husk notes backed by toasted corn, walnut and singed sandalwood accents. A touch of dried persimmon echoes on the very dry finish. One of the great dry sherries. 17.5% ABV.
Bodegas La Cigarrera Manzanilla San Lucar de Barrameda 375ml HALF BOTTLES

Why Oscar chose this sherry - "As we seek moderation, we look to make better drinking and dietary choices. What better way to begin than with a 375ml (half bottle) of Manzanilla sherry. Bone-dry, packed with aromas and flavors of citrus fruit and that unmistakable salinity found in Manzanilla sherries made in the coastal sherry producing town of Sanlucar de Barrameda. Served chilled, in a white wine glass and pair with your favorite healthy snacks."
Winemaker Description
Fresh and lively, with notes of dried herbs, stone fruit, and citrus zest. Bone dry and mouthwatering, with a long finish
Bodegas Martinez Lacuesta Hinia Rioja Reserva 2014 750ml
Bodegas Martinez Lacuesta Hinia — Rioja Reserva 2014
Bodegas Martinez Lacuesta is one of Haro's most storied producers, crafting wines in the historic heart of Rioja Alta since 1895. Hinia — named for the fossilized shells found in the vineyard soils, remnants of an ancient sea that once covered the entire region — is a homage to the refined, classic wines that made Haro famous. A traditional Rioja blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo, it was aged for 36 months in American oak with natural alcoholic and malolactic fermentation, producing a wine of genuine complexity and elegance.
Deep cherry red in the glass with an aromatic nose of ripe black fruit, spiced plums, tobacco leaf, balsamic, and a seductive layer of vanilla, caramel, and chocolate from the extended oak aging. On the palate, it is full-bodied with palate-coating tannins, vibrant citrus zest energy, and a long, persistent finish of ripe cherry and vanilla blossom. Balanced, opulent, and built to last.
Wine Enthusiast 93 Points — Elaine Chukan Brown | "Spiced and ripe plums and cherries gain the energy of citrus zest, and the opulence of vanilla blossom and a drizzle of balsamic. Balanced with great persistence for a pleasurable wine." (Vintage 2014).

Bodegas Martinez Lacuesta has been crafting wines in Haro, the historic capital of Rioja Alta, since 1895. Their Gran Reserva is the pinnacle of the house — produced only in the finest vintages, when the fruit and conditions align to create something truly exceptional. The 2011 vintage is one such year: a classic Rioja growing season that delivered concentration, structure, and the natural balance required for long aging. A traditional blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo, it was aged for a minimum of 60 months — at least 18 in oak and the remainder in bottle — before release, in the time-honored Gran Reserva tradition.
Deep ruby with garnet edges, the nose is complex and evolved: dried cherry, leather, cedar, tobacco, and earthy minerality layered with notes of vanilla, dark spice, and a whisper of balsamic. On the palate, it is full-bodied and silky with fine, integrated tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, lingering finish of red fruit and warm spice. A wine of sublime delicacy and elegance — exactly as the winemaker intended.
"A classic combination of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo that takes us back to the origins of great Rioja wines. Produced only in the finest vintages, which allow us to bottle exceptional wines. The sublime fusion of delicacy and elegance. Time stands still, enabling us to continue savoring the future." — Martinez Lacuesta Winemaker
