Producer Description

Hatozaki lighthouse in the city Akashi, is the oldest stone lighthouse in Japan, the distillery is very close. Owned by the Yonezawa family who have been distilling Sake since 1917.

It is aged in American oak casks before being finished in Umeshu casks. This finish brings out the classic notes of barley and iodine, with a touch of plum. A whisky characterised by elegance and harmony.

The Arechabala family first registered the Havana Club trademark in 1934, crafting a spirit that became synonymous with Cuba's Golden Age — the swanky nightspots, the pulsating Latin rhythms, the sultry tropical nights. When the Cuban regime seized their distillery in 1960, the family fled with little more than the precious recipe in hand.

Decades later, Bacardi — bound by long-standing ties to the Arechabala family — acquired the original recipe and relaunched Havana Club in Puerto Rico in 1995, faithful to Ramon Arechabala's personal transcription. Heaven Hill launched the first release in its new Heaven Hill Heritage Collection which will feature one of the distillery’s six unique mashbills for release. The inaugural whiskey is a barrel-proof bourbon bottled at 118.2 proof and made using the distillery’s core bourbon mash bill of 78 percent corn, 10 percent rye, and 12 percent malted barley. The label says the whiskey is 17 years old, but that’s indicative of the youngest whiskey in the bottle, which also includes 19 and 20-year-old bourbon (the exact breakdown: 28 percent 20-year-old barrels, 44 percent 19-year-old barrels, 28 percent 17-year-old barrels).

Nose is complex yet not overwhelming. A splendid taste with a warm feel to it. Not to smoky but silky smooth.

A harmonious marriage of column-still and pot-still rye whiskies, aged a minimum of two years, Double Rye is built to showcase the bold, spice-forward character of high-rye whiskey alongside an unexpected botanical brightness that sets it apart from the crowd.

The nose is complex and inviting: mint, clove, cinnamon, licorice root, pine nuts, and dark chocolate, with a surprising gin-like herbal quality woven throughout. On the palate, rye spice leads the charge — assertive and warming — before giving way to menthol, eucalyptus, wildflower honey, and allspice. The finish is long and satisfying, with cinnamon and mint gradually sweetening into a lingering hint of anise. Bold, layered, and endlessly sippable at 92 proof.

Highland Park is one of Scotland's most celebrated and distinctive single malt distilleries — located on the remote Orkney Islands at the very northern tip of Scotland, where the wild Atlantic climate, ancient Viking heritage, and unique local heather peat combine to create a whisky unlike any other. The color is warm amber. The nose is vivid and inviting: crème brûlée, tangerine, charred peach, and smoked kindling, with a light, briny vanilla character and a rising veil of smoke. On the palate, heather honey, dried fruit, warm spice, and salty sea smoke intertwine with silky, elegant texture. The finish is sultry and long — brown sugar and toasted nuts with a lingering hint of smoke. A whisky of rare harmony and completeness.

Presented in a ceramic decanter, this expression was crafted by Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion using American and European first-fill sherry seasoned casks with the addition of a few refill casks.
