Hendrick’s Orbium is what the beloved Scottish gin might taste like in a parallel universe — a bold reimagining by Master Distiller Lesley Gracie that pushes the boundaries of the original while remaining unmistakably Hendrick’s. Built on the classic foundation of cucumber and rose essences, Orbium is further instilled with three additional extracts: Quinine, lending a bitter, tonic-like backbone; Wormwood, adding an herbal, almost absinthe-like intrigue; and Blue Lotus Blossom, contributing a delicate floral lift that rounds the whole composition. The result is a gin of unusual depth and complexity — oddly exquisite, as Hendrick’s puts it, and entirely accurate.
On the nose, expect the familiar cucumber and rose of classic Hendrick’s, now layered with bitter botanicals and a faint ethereal quality from the Blue Lotus. The palate is round and full, with the quinine providing structure and the wormwood adding a dry, lingering finish of real distinction. Serve over ice with premium tonic and a cucumber ribbon, or explore it in a classic Negroni or Martini where its complexity can truly shine. A limited release — not to be missed.
