Decanter 91 Points | This Umbrian Chardonnay from Antinori's estate is vinified and aged partly in stainless steel and partly in wood. The 2023 is toasty and slightly tropical, with a mineral, stony quality which runs through the core, and lovely bright acidity. It finishes with some zesty lemon peel and Mediterranean herbs. Nicely balanced and very fresh.

The Domaine Jean Chartron Rully "Montmorin" Blanc 2023 is a high-value white Burgundy that captures the "Puligny-style" precision of its producer in the more affordable Côte Chalonnaise. Jean-Michel Chartron, based in Puligny-Montrachet, applies the same rigorous winemaking standards to this 3-hectare single plot in Rully, resulting in a wine that consistently "over-delivers" for its price point.

The 2023 vintage is characterized by a generous, ripe fruit profile balanced by the distinct limestone minerality of the Montmorin site.

Vinous 92 | The 2023 Chablis La Boissonneuse has another generous and well-defined bouquet with Clementine and peach skin, just a hint of candy floss and spice. Quite mercurial in the glass. The palate is taut and fresh with a fine bead of acidity. Sapid in the mouth with plenty of extract and umami sensation on the finish. This should be on your shopping list. Rated 90-92

Allen Meadows Burghound 90 Points |  In contrast to the Les Plantes, here the expressive nose is quite fresh with its notes of just sliced citrus, green apple and enough typicity to be convincing. There is excellent vibrancy to the sleek and well-defined flavors that display good length on the youthfully austere and highly refreshing finish. This isn't however especially complex so a few years of keeping are recommended. Rated: 87-90

Candied ginger peel, rich citrus, and tangerine peel lead into baked pineapple notes on a very long, saline-mineral finish—a true crowd-pleaser, perfect with roast chicken and potatoes or roast pork. The fruit for this Chardonnay comes from Napa and Sonoma Carneros. Barrel-fermented and aged for nine months in a mix of American and French oak, one-third of which is new. A Margaine Champagne - a small family owned vineyard run by father and daughter. Mathilde Margaine is the 5th generation, and first woman, to oversee the Margaine estate. Currently she still works with her father in all aspects of the domaine, from the vineyards to the winery. 

Their wine is produced in Villers-Marmery in the Montagne de Reims region. However, they are anomaly. Why? Most producers in this part of Champagne produce exclusively Pinot Noir. Instead, Blanc de Blancs is produced giving simply delicious hauntingly beautiful and original Champagnes you can drink.

This is clean and sleek, a beautifully balanced medium-bodied Chardonnay with luxuriously ripe stone and orchard fruit. But what’s most impressive is the intensity and purity of the fruit—so precisely delineated, profoundly spicy, and laser-focused. At $50, this is one of the finest, most balanced, and well-structured Chardonnays from the Russian River Valley at this price point. 

The Wine Advocate by Erin Brooks 95 Points | Grapes for the 2023 Chardonnay Russian River Valley were harvested over the course of a month, from initial picks on September 13 to the last pick on October 14. It was barrel-fermented, underwent full malolactic conversion and was matured for 12 months in 10% new French oak barrels. It has open, inviting aromas of stone fruit and pineapple, panna cotta, ginger, toasted brioche and honey. The palate combines concentrated, layered flavors with fireworks of fresh acidity, and it has a very long, perfumed finish.

96 Points Decanter, Clive Pursehouse: This is quite the Chardonnay from Brianne Day and the renowned Eola Springs Vineyard in the best Chardonnay appellation in America. Winemaker Brianne Day chose three different blocks and three different cones: Hyde Wente, Mount Eden and Chardonnay 96 (a Dijon clone). She picked the Hyde Wente and Mount Eden early for structure and acid, and the Dijon 96 was picked later to flesh out the palate with riper fruits. Captivating lemon curd aromas and rich, honeyed apricots are followed by almond pastry cream - dollops of rich lemon cream, ripe peach fuzz, and rich apricot flesh.

I have been wanting to work with another stellar Chardonnay site and was delighted to have the opportunity to purchase fruit from this gorgeous vineyard in the Eola Amity Hills. In an effort to get to know the vineyard well, I chose three different blocks and three different clones; Hyde Wente (California heritage clone), Mount Eden (another Cali heritage clone) and Chardonnay 96 (a Dijon clone). The Hyde Wente and Mount Eden were picked a little earlier for the structure and acid and the Dijon 96 a little later for some stone fruit and riper fruit. The wine is lively, lithe, and has a fairly solid mineral structure with a supple and glossy mid palate. Lemon curd, peaches, river stones, lime zest, sweet orange, honeysuckle and a hint of pastry all come to mind. - Winery

Vintage consistency is the goal with this wine so the blending of lots and aging technique will vary according. Roughly 60% of the wine is aged in Allier oak, only 10% of which is new. The remaining 40% of the wine is aged in stainless steel to preserve clean varietal character.

The Wine Advocate 89 Points | Partially barrel fermented and matured, with the balance in stainless steel, the 2023 Chardonnay features scents of crushed stone, pear, melon and citrus. Sourced from Carneros and Oak Knoll, it's medium to full-bodied, silky and balanced. Maybe it could use a bit more flavor intensity and length, but it's a solid effort at a fair price for Napa. Includes 1% Viognier.

Boasting a glorious shimmering golden hue, with bright and lively aromatic notes of lemon crème, white pineapple, and melon. Delicate citrus blossoms and magnolia flowers add a floral elegance on the nose. The ripe and full palate offers flavors of Golden Delicious apples, Asian pear, and lemon curd. Spiced oak notes of vanilla, brioche toast, and ginger complement the fruit, while exotic floral notes provide a lovely perfume. Full-bodied with a creamy texture, the finish is long and satisfying, highlighted by hints of lychee and a beautiful mineral character.

2023 delivered one of the most prolonged and compact harvests in recent Napa Valley history. The long growing season delayed the start of harvest until the fifth of September—two and a half weeks later than the previous year. This posed a logistical challenge in the cellar as tanks quickly filled. Additionally, there was concern about completing the harvest before the rainy season. Our winemaking team rose to the occasion and made the 2023 harvest season a bountiful yield of
exceptional quality fruit. The grapes displayed intense color and complex flavors, maintaining a vibrant acidity that adds a distinctive character to what will surely be remembered as an excellent wine collector’s vintage.
