J.J. Prum Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Spatlese is a very pale yellow with pristine expression of fruit. Immediately showing great balance of sweetness and acidity, a bit creamier than the Kabinett, lovely stone fruit, very elegant with that kick from the well known Graacher acidity. Good length with a bright and mouthwatering finish.

Decanter 96 Points | This powerfully concentrated yet fresh-fruited sip is a touch more inviting young than the more nervous Wehlener Sonnenuhr this vintage. Flavours of white grapefruit and green apples are intensely ripe but pure and pristine, etched by strikes of lime and salt. A delightfully fruity, off-dry wine with a kiss of tangerine sweetness on the finish. Ready now but will improve further. (2022). 

Wine Spectator 93 Points | A plush, alluring style, with apricot, guava and creamed pear flavors backed by a layer of finely crushed mineral notes. The texture is creamy and chalky, offering a stream of fruit punctuated by dried herb accents and a dusting of fleur de sel. Radiant, pure and long, with energy in reserve. Drink now through 2040. 250 cases imported. (2022).

James Suckling 95 Points | All the ripeness of this very warm vintage, married to wonderful freshness that gives this the light-footedness of a great dancer. Mostly white fruit, but just a hint of fresh pineapple. Long, silky finish. Drink or hold. (2018). 

Robert Parker 93+ Points | The 2018 Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese is discreet yet deep and complex on the elegant and spicy nose that exhibits very fine stone fruit aromas. Round, lush and piquant on the palate, this is a crystalline, piquant, persistently salty and stimulating Himmelreich with fine tannins on the finish that add grip and a very light, food-friendly astringency that moderates away the sweetness. Still young, this is a Spätlese to serve with food in 10-15 years. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.

Wine Spectator 93 Points | This has all of the elements of a great spätlese, with pronounced acidity supporting the ripe peach, yellow apple, mango and spruce flavors, while hints of vanilla and piecrust add to the complexity. Still a bit intense, but this should develop beautifully with age, allowing the minerality to become more prominent. Best from 2022 through 2038. (2018).

Well-structured and sophisticated. It has a rich pear-like nose which is followed by crisp acidity a medium body and a delicious mouth feel. Vineyard & winemaking notes the d. O. C. Appellation (denomination of controlled origin) is a guarantee that candoni pinot grigio is produced with only the best grapes cultivated in the veneto region of northeast italy.

Our vineyard yield is very low which is a result of our quest for quality over quantity. Our winemaking philosophy is to emphasize the grape’s pure varietal taste without the masking effects of oak. The climate helps to maintain a balance between acidity and sugar levels and allows the grapes a long slow growing season making our candoni pinot grigio of excellent quality.

Best with a delicious accompaniment to fish seasonal pasta dishes or chicken. It can also stand alone as an aperitif on a hot summer’s day. How to serve pour into ample but not oversized goblets at a temperature of around.

L'Antique' was created 30 years ago, and is one of my very first Sancerre cuvées. The grapes come mainly from the best Silex hillsides in the village of Saint-Satur. For this cuvée, I wanted to follow my grandfather's footsteps by making an unclarified, slightly filtered wine, allowing the elegance of the terroir to shine through to the full.

94 Points Wine Spectator | Fragrant, focused and precise, offering flavors of lemongrass and lemon blossoms, with Meyer lemon and green papaya accents, plus a touch of tangerine. Shows green tea, lemon balm and white pepper notes on a mouthwatering frame, with a hint of salinity that lingers.

94 Points Vinous | The 2021 Chardonnay Woolsey Road Vineyard is another dense, ample wine in this range. The Woolsey Road has a good deal of phenolic intensity. There's real breadth and resonance here. Lemon confit, white pepper and dried herbs are nicely amplified.

93 Points James Suckling | Richness and concentration are the hallmarks of this full-bodied, mouth-filling wine. Deep in Bosc pears, baked apples and baking spices, it offers a creamy texture balanced by moderate acidity.

Winemaker Description

Most white Sancerre should be enjoyed young and fresh; but a handful of growers believe that more complex, rich wines are possible. 

The ‘Grande Cuvée’ is aged for 15 months in large, 600-litre oak barrels. The rest stays in stainless steel tanks. The fruit is beautifully integrated and is of the ripe grapefruit sort and blends harmoniously with the slightly spicy flavours of the oak.

Super-concentrated and mineral. Release always trails the regular Sancerre Blanc by a year so it has extra time in both tank and bottle.

An understated charm on the nose, revealing elegant aromas of yellow fruits like apricot and mirabelle plum, along with hints of anise and marzipan. A touch of green pepper adds a light and airy quality. On the palate, it offers a crisp and delightful experience, with flavors of plum and orange wedge, culminating in a chalky, saline finish.

The vineyards are planted in Terroir of Kimmeridgian marls (calcareous clay with encrustation of oyster and mussel fossils) from the Jurassic time. Trellised vines are averaged around 30 years old and have a planting density of 8000 vines/ha. Tillage takes place in the rows until the bud burst, the rest of the year to natural grass covers. The Côte des Monts Damnés is located in Chavignol. Steep hillsides (declivity up to 70%), facing south, with an altitude that ranges from 650 to 980 feet.

The grapes matured in cooler temperatures than in recent years, so the 2021 vintage is in line with other vintages that conform to the temperate climate of the Centre-Loire wine region.

The grapes were handpicked and had a light cold static settling to eliminate the coarsest lees. Fermentation and aging took place in stainless steel tanks (88%) and 10 years old wooden vats (12%). After, the wine was aged on fine fermentation lees for 9 months.

Rand S. & David W of 67Wine.com | This is considered a very rare California boutique sauvignon blanc.  It is highly sought after for those seeking a very special wine.  Realm makes some of the most sought after wines out of Napa and their Sauvignon Blanc is one of the finest expressions in the valley.

You will find tropical fruit notes including lemon, tangerine, and a hint of peach.  Great wine. It is not grassy but rather soft on the palate. Very elegant, balanced and not over ripe. Staff tasted & recommended.

It's lively and generous with singular scents of lemon drop, pie crust and toasted meringue, plus integrated tones of matchstick and allspice. The medium-bodied palate is defined by its lacy, lightly mouth-coating texture. Its deep core of creamy, lemony flavors is enlivened by mouthwatering acidity, and its juxtaposition of depth and energy calls you back for another sip.

94 Points Wine Spectator | This powerful version opens with a toasty mix of spices, buttery toasted brioche and carmelized apple pastry. Offers plenty of plump ripe peach, apricot and melon flavors, with a note of marmalade at the core. Candied ginger, graham cracker, salted, toasted almond and marzipan linger on the finish.

Producer Description 

Is a low intervention wine project by winemakers Norberto Páez and Sebastián Bisole based in the Tupungato Valley of Argentina. The project was born from their friendship, which dates back to childhood. Páez and Sebastián Bisole not only grew up together, but studied agronomy together in Mendoza. Different in their personalities but similar in their convictions, Norberto and Sebastián worked together for years.

The duo advised several of Argentina’s best wineries in organic farming, before embarking on their own project, inspired by the desire to produce wines simply, "step-by-step," or paso a paso, with respect for the land and culture.

Guided by the idea that “less is more,” this wine is dry and fresh, with crisp fruit flavors and bright minerality. Some of their grapes come from family vineyards in Napa Valley, with the majority coming from Suisun Valley, a “hidden gem” wine region only a short drive from Napa. Suisun shares a similar maritime climate and produces exceptional fruit. Their farming practices enable us to create a wine that is not overly ripe – while also not herbaceous – featuring low alcohol and bright acidity.

94 Points James Suckling | Wonderful honeysuckle and jasmine aromas pour from the glass of this very racy and crystalline Kabinett. As sharp and bright as a samurai sword, each swirl of the glass reveals new aromas, sushi ginger and dill only being the most obvious. Drink or hold.

Scharzhofberg is one of the most famous vineyard sites in Germany, likely to have originally been planted by the Romans. Situated in Wiltingen, removed from the Saar in a side valley and facing south, its slopes are quite steep, with a 30–60% grade, and high, at 180-280 meters elevation. Formed from grey Devonian slate, the soils are very deep with no bedrock. This wine is always delicate, crisp and exquisite on the palate. Winemaker Description.
