Winemaker Description 

The Chateau Riganes White is made with 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Light gold in color with green reflections. On the nose, bursting aromas of yellow grapefruit, earthy minerals, lemon peel, hints of freshly cut grass and white spring flowers. Light to medium-bodied, with a mind-blowing first attack of citrus fruits followed by hints of slate on the mid palate, zesty lemon, herbal notes, basil, tart green pear, medium-plus acidity, with more saline and orange blossom notes that linger on a remarkably long and mouth-watering finish.

Aromas of melons, fresh herbs, white flowers; a delicate note of sea salt. Creamy yet light on the tongue; poached white fruits, lime zest, grapefruit. Very long.

The Sauvignon Blanc Südsteiermark DAC is a great classic from Sattlerhof and comes from organically farmed vines on quartz and lime-strewn soils with a gravel layer that give it cool elegance.

Herbal and pear aromas and a pleasant acidity make it an exciting accompaniment to asparagus and other delicate spring dishes.

Made in a way ensuring the personality of site and soil is not over-ridden by the forceful character of the variety, this wine exhibits the typical Southern Right balance of tight “Old World” minerality and length with hints of “New World” texture and body. The 2023 is a wine that favours origin expressive individuality, minerality and palate complexity ahead of simple, pungent varietal aroma.

A significant percentage of fruit from iron and clay-rich soil has added a textural and structural component and additional overall complexity to this wine. The sandstone soils have contributed their typical bright, tensile character and a marked, saline minerality. Erin Larkin writes:  Te Koko is arguably the wine that launched the concept of premium Sauvignon Blanc in New Zealand in the 1980s—no mean feat. On the nose, this 2021 Te Koko Sauvignon Blanc leads with pink grapefruit, nashi pear, white pepper, layers of crushed shells and brine, with hints of vanilla pod and star anise. In the mouth, all of the above with additional cut fennel, suggestions of marzipan, graphite and white pepper. There is a gentle lees texture and brilliant length of flavor. Excellent wine. The only reason you could possibly not like this wine is if you don't like Sauvignon Blanc, and even then, I'd insist that you try it. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.  Drinking 2023 to 2036.  - Robert Parker Wine Advocate 95+

It's a youthful wine with all the flavors up front, and they're all still in a battle for supremacy, from citrus and nectarine to capsicum and almond croissants. The small crops of the season and the winemaking provided a rich texture and grip, making for a structured, powerful wine. There's no shortage of acidity either, coursing through with the pace of a river rapid. Our elegant and refined Sauvignon Blanc incorporates small amounts of Sauvignon Musqu and Sauvignon Gris, which add a layer of depth and a fleshy, full-bodied mouthfeel. At first swirl, this wine presents tropical aromas of passionfruit, pineapple and melon with nuances of peach and jasmine.

 Stainless steel fermentation was supplemented with small amounts of acacia, French oak and chestnut barrels, adding additional character and nuance to this delicious wine.

The Millet family founded “La Gemière” in 1981 on the slopes of the Loire Valley. Since 2000, heirs Sébastien and Nicolas have carried on the tradition of working their 19-hectare vineyard with a profound respect for the terroir.

The pebbly terrain called “La Caillote” is composed of clay, limestone, white soil “Terres Blanches,” and red earth “Terres Rouges.”

As soon as the grapes are harvested, they are pressed and juices flow by gravity into tanks. Must is racked 48 hours later, then preserved at low temperatures for 4 to 7 days before fermentation. Thermo regulated alcoholic fermentation. Lees aging 8-9 months.

Pronounced aromas of gooseberry, fresh grass, and ripe quince. Crisp and
refreshing on the palate, with notes of melon and citrus.

Perfect wine as an aperitif, or paired with shellfish, salads, seafood, and mild
cheeses.

Most white Sancerre should be enjoyed young and fresh; but a handful of growers believe that more complex, rich wines are possible. 

The ‘Grande Cuvée’ is aged for 15 months in large, 600-litre oak barrels. The rest stays in stainless steel tanks. The fruit is beautifully integrated and is of the ripe grapefruit sort and blends harmoniously with the slightly spicy flavours of the oak.

Rand S. & David W of 67Wine.com | This is considered a very rare California boutique sauvignon blanc.  It is highly sought after for those seeking a very special wine.  Realm makes some of the most sought after wines out of Napa and their Sauvignon Blanc is one of the finest expressions in the valley.

You will find tropical fruit notes including lemon, tangerine, and a hint of peach.  Great wine. It is not grassy but rather soft on the palate. Very elegant, balanced and not over ripe. Staff tasted & recommended.

The grapes for this wine are sourced from Block 1 on Purisima Mountain Vineyard, which tends to ripen slower than most of the Sauvignon Blanc in the region. The added hang-time adds to the flavor and textural development of the finished wine while the limestone soils ensure great acidity.

Incorporating skin contact prior to pressing brought another level of texture and roundness to the vintage; the wine is kept fresh by fermenting and aging in stainless steel, showcasing vibrant tropical and citrus fruit aromas and flavors.

David of 67Wine.com |  If you read my review of Beckman Sauvignon Blanc, this wine while the same grape and also from California is a world apart.  Hall is in effect opposite of Beckman.  This wine shows beautiful balance, where its mineral front and a level of softness on the palate is remarkable.  Hall is a great dinner wine where you get the best of both worlds, excellent wine that will not overwhelm your cuisine.

The 2022 vintage of Hall Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc is refreshing and vibrant with effusive aromas of citrus zest, honeysuckle and lemon grass. The bright, lively acidity on the palate is balanced with flinty minerality and mid-palate richness driven by sur-lie aging. 

Intense lime and green apple aromas on the nose followed by some funky (and pleasant) notes of passion fruit / durian / boiled green beans / asparagus. Pronounced lime-y acidity with an underlying salinity. Long finish.

Habla de Ti 2022 is an enchanting white wine, captivating with its vivacity and lightness. Bright Yellow fruit nose like really freshly picked golden delicious apples as well as some hints of guava.  Spiced palate with medium acidity. Pepper and baking spices on the finish.  Like a lighter, crisper version of a Napa Valley sauvignon blanc.  

This would pair very nicely with ceviche with plenty of cilantro and jalapeño.

Inspired by our favorite Bordeaux white wines, Covenant Solomon Blanc 2022 is a tribute to one of best Sauvignon Blanc vineyards we know of in Northern California. The vines are planted at the Moaveni Vineyard in Bennett Valley. They border our Syrah vines, also planted there.

When we first tasted the wine post fermentation, we were astonished. I’ve been drinking Sauvignon Blanc for over 40 years, and the Solomon Blanc reminded me of the finest Sauvignon Blanc wines from the greatest producers in France. In barrel, it continued to improve, developing extraordinary complexity. There was no doubt in our mind that this wine was worthy of the Solomon name. We’ve never produced a white wine like this.

Solomon Blanc 2022 was fermented in French oak barrels and stirred on the lees to promote richness and depth. The wine is layered with complex and intriguing flavors redolent of lemon peel, pine nuts, kumquats, and passionfruit all bound together with a seamless mineral core. It finishes with freshness and great length.

The Judean Hills, where Tzora Vineyards resides, rise sharply from the coastal plain, and exhibit ideal conditions for growing wine grapes. Terraces cling to this rugged area in a multitude of directions as they follow the contours of the steep slopes. Cold winters, sharp temperature drops during the short summer nights and early morning summer mists, as well as variations in soils from rocky limestone outcrops to ones rich in minerals, all contribute to the character, the balance, and the great longevity of the wines. The wines of Tzora reflect the Judean Hills’ unique terroir. In order to achieve this goal, they make wine only from their estate’s fruit, grown in three vineyards, Giv’at Hachalukim, Shoresh and Neve Ilan, each with varying soils and meso-climates. 

The Tzora Shoresh Blanc is a blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Chardonnay from grapes grown on old terraces of terra-rosa soils with limestone subsoils. The wine is aged sur-lie for 6 months in French oak barriques. Expressive on the nose with aromas of vanilla, tropical fruit and toast. The palate shows a fine sheen layer of spice to complement the exotic fruit notes that are balanced by a round, creamy mouthfeel and lively acidity.

Dalton Fume Blanc is fermented with wild yeast in oak casks and allowed to age for a further four months in barrel. The wine is supple and fruity, with notes of citrus and pineapples subtly balanced with a rich and smoky character from the barrel.

Olivier Foucher followed a classic career path: studies in viticulture and oenology, a few years of collaboration with his parents and taking over the family estate after his father's retirement in 2011. Today, he and his wife cultivate 10.5 hectares of vines.
