Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio are different translations of the name of the same grape. Pinot Gris is the French name, Pinot Grigio is the Italian name.
Typically, they are made in different styles. The French method uses barrel aging, which adds a creamy texture and added complexity (but no oaky flavor). The Italian style makes a wine that is, traditionally, bright and fresh, made by fermenting and aging (briefly) in a large vat or tank.
