Domaine du Castel Grand Vin Kosher 2021 750ml
Winemaker Description
The Castel Grand Vin is a 90+ rated wine from the famed Judean Hills region in Israel. It is one of the most consistent high-end wines produced in Israel. The varieties used to create this wine are Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, harvested from the winery's finest vineyard plots.
The wine matured in mostly new French oak barrels for approximately 16 months, and was then transferred to concrete tanks for approximately 4 months before bottling. Castel Grand Vin is a classic, elegant wine, bearing deep color and a concentrated and complex bouquet of blackberries, cherries, plum, and spice. This is a balanced wine, with a velvety smoothness, fine (yet tangible) tannins, and a long clean finish. The Castel Grand Vin can age for 10+ years when stored in proper conditions.
The story of Domaine du Castel dates back to the 1970s when Eli Ben Zaken migrated from Milan to Israel with his family. He bought a small piece of land close to Jerusalem and began to fulfil his dream of working the land by planting an orchard and keeping chickens. In 1988 Eli decided to plant the first modern-day vineyard in the Judean Hills and in 1995 he released the first 600 bottles of his Grand Vin matured in oak barrels which he had imported from France himself.
Eli’s Grand Vin quickly gained a cult following and a bottle was even sent to the head of the wine department at Sotheby’s auction house, Serena Sutcliffe, who heaped praise on the wine. Made in the classic Bordeaux style, the Grand Vin is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc grapes which are carefully selected from Eli’s top vineyards.
Following the vinification the young wine is aged in oak barrels for 16 months followed by a further four months of maturation in concrete tanks. The result is a remarkably complex red which boasts a full body, rich dark fruit flavours and a very long finish. Although approachable now, this is a wine which has excellent ageing capabilities and will continue to develop and evolve over the next decade or so.

Jonathan Tishbi Special Reserve Chardonnay Kosher 2023 750ml
Winemaker Description
A full-bodied and fruity wine, with hints of apricot, melon and peach.
A combination of oak barrel fermentation and slow fermentation at low temperature in a stainless steel tank. The aging of the wine in oak barrels gives it aromas of vanilla, caramel and honey.
The Tishbi winery has a history that spans more than 120 years in Israel; one that intersects with many of the famous names of modern Israel’s short history. The story begins in 1882, when Malka and Michael Chemelitsky immigrated to the city of Shefeya at the foothills of Zichron Yaakov.
There they worked for the Carmel Wine Co-op that was founded by Baron Edmund de Rothschild in the late 1800s. They worked the land, planting vineyards, clearing rubble and stones, with nothing more than the barest of tools and technology. The work was backbreaking and endless, and unfortunately more work, was the only reward for many of the early immigrants, that came to settle the barren land.
However, for the few farmers that were lucky to work with Edmund, they saw salvation from his deep pockets, huge heart, and massive resources that he brought to bear, to teach, bolster, and, ultimately, build the, then fledgling, wine industry into the forebear of where it is today.

Within a few years, plans were drawn up to create a winery at the Gush Etzion junction and partner with local Kibbutzim to plant vineyards. The 2023 vintage ended in mid-October amidst some of the most trying times
our country has ever faced. Although the season’s onset was warmer than usual
and total precipitation was 14% below average, late rains were sufficient for
starting the growing season with optimal soil moisture.
While some exposed clusters sustained a bit of damage due to an extreme heatwave in mid-August, vine canopies remained healthy. Ultimately, our yields were 16% lower than average, but of high quality.
The Galilee (or Galil) is the northernmost — and generally considered the best —
appellation in Israel. The highest quality growing area within the appellation is
the Golan Heights (or simply the Golan), also the coldest region in Israel. The
vineyards on this volcanic plateau rise from 1,300 feet to 3,900 feet above sea
level and receive snowfall in the winter. Golan Heights Winery is located in the
town of Katzrin in the central Golan.

Expert Reviews
Robert Parker 95 Points | Brilliant aromas of black cherries and cassis jump from the glass, as the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Peak Edcora Vineyard bursts with fruit. All Cabernet Sauvignon, from a site that neighbors Stagecoach Vineyard, this is a medium to full-bodied, densely concentrated example of mountain fruit, yet it's one that is not harsh or tough, with well-ripened tannins and a plush, lingering finish. Bravo.
Jeb Dunnuck 94+ Points | All varietal, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Peak Edcora Vineyard is another deep purple-hued wine in the lineup with tons to love. Pure cassis, graphite, leafy herbs, and damp earth-like nuances all shine here, and it's medium to full-bodied, with beautiful mid-palate depth, ripe, integrated, yet ample tannins, and a great finish. It offers pleasure today, yet I see no reason this shouldn't evolve for 15+ years if well stored. It's another gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon in the vintage.
The Wine Independent 97+ Points | Deep garnet-purple in color, the single-varietal 2021 Peak Edcora Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon charges out of the gate with bold notions of creme de cassis, blackberry pie, and boysenberry preserves followed by nuances of dark chocolate, camphor, and black olives. The medium to full-bodied palate is laden with black fruit and savory layers, supported by firm, ripe, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing on a lingering minty note.

Domaine du Castel Rose Kosher 2023 Israel 750ml
Winemaker Description
Winemaker, Eli Ben-Zaken, crafts this wine by allocating a portion of premium grape varietals - Merlot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc - destined for the winery's flagship wine, Domaine du Castel Grand Vin. The grapes are picked early to ensure that the resulting wine has enough acidity to offer the crisp and tart nature of a rose that is expected.
Then, the grapes are pressed and the juice is left in contact with the grape skins for just enough time to achieve the wine's impressive salmon hue. This has enchanting floral and berry aromas leading into a wonderful soiree of tart citrus and red fruit flavors on the palate and capped by a pleasing mineral finish. This rose is best in its youth.
A blend of 60% Merlot, 22% Malbec and 18% Cabernet Franc from high-density vineyards planted at 700 metres altitude, west of Jerusalem.
