James Suckling: 93 Points (prior vintage)

Mahi is the project of Brian Bicknell, one of Marlborough's most thoughtful and independent-minded winemakers. Where much of the region's Sauvignon Blanc is made in a loud, industrial style — cold-fermented in stainless steel to maximize tropical fruit and aromatic punch — Bicknell takes a fundamentally different approach. Drawing on what he calls a "chef's philosophy," he incorporates wild yeast ferments and aging in old oak barrels to build texture, complexity and genuine depth into a variety that is too often reduced to a single dimension. The result is a Sauvignon Blanc that stands apart: more sophisticated, more food-friendly and more interesting than the category norm.

The 2025 opens with an expressive and layered nose — lemon peel, grapefruit pith, apple blossom and pastry, with citrus and tropical notes woven through secondary characters that emerge from the wild ferments and barrel aging. The palate is elegant and well-structured, with a creamy, textural mid-palate that sets it apart from the region's stainless-steel standard. Bright acidity provides freshness and lift, while the long, complex finish reflects the care and intention behind the winemaking.

Serve well chilled at 46–50°F. One of the few Sauvignon Blancs with the weight and texture to handle lightly seared scallops or oysters without overpowering them. Also excellent with grilled fish, shellfish, fresh goat cheese (chèvre), Greek salad with feta, light pasta and herb-driven dishes.

Cuvée Laurène is the flagship Pinot Noir of Domaine Drouhin Oregon — the Willamette Valley estate founded by Burgundy’s legendary Maison Joseph Drouhin. Winemaker Notes

Brianne Day chose three blocks and three clones from the gorgeous Eola Springs Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills to get to know the site intimately. Hyde Wente and Mount Eden (California heritage clones) were picked earlier for structure and acid; Dijon 96 was picked later for stone fruit and riper character.

The result is lively, lithe, and built on a solid mineral structure with a supple, glossy mid-palate. Lemon curd, peaches, river stones, lime zest, sweet orange, honeysuckle, and a hint of pastry all come to mind.

Dornfelder is an extremely popular German red grape that is based on four classic varieties: Lemberger (aka Blaufränkisch), Portugieser, Frühburgunder, and Trollinger. Complices de Loire La Grande Parcelle Chenin Blanc from Montlouis-sur-Loire, France. This is an elegant white wine made from the Chenin Blanc grape, typical of this Loire region. This wine offers a wonderful balance between freshness and complexity, with aromas of citrus fruits, peach and white flowers, as well as a mineral undertone that reflects the calcareous soils.

Francesc Ricart Brut is a cava made following its Traditional Method in the most representative area of the DO Cava, which is the region of Penedes and Sant Sadurní d´Anoia.

Expressing aromas of toast, honeycomb, sourdough and nougat. Elegant sparkling wine with an intense flavour of the local varieties and fine texture. Citrus peel and hint of forest floor flavours are supported by the toasted bread. 

A careful selection of the best Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Perellada local varieties and a meticulous winemaking process -the second fermentation and the subsequent ageing take place in the bottle- are the basis of this cava. This cava respects the essence of a traditional brut and it is a fresh and easy-drinking wine.

The wine presents a pale lemon-yellow hue with bright highlights. On the nose, it is intensely aromatic, as Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains is renowned for its fragrant character. Winemaker's Story

"The Flying Bicycle" is Germán Blanco's new project in Rioja Baja. With the help of fellow oenologist Javier Collio, Germán sources fruit from certified organic vineyards in the Navarra part of the appellation. The vineyards are dry-farmed with an average age of thirty-five years, grown in a mix of clay and limestone. Following the Milú philosophy of "happy wines made from happy grapes," the grapes are de-stemmed and fermented at cold temperature from native yeasts. A slight maceration before the end of fermentation creates a delicate and fresh wine. No oak is used, and the wine stays in concrete tanks for five to six months.
