Producer Description 

The Fiano di Avellino takes its name from the variety that the Latins called Vitis Apiana. The grapes were so sweet that they proved irresistible to bees (“api”).
The wine, which was already highly appreciated in the Middle Ages, originated several millennia ago. An order for three “salme” (a measure) of Fiano is entered in the register of Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II. Charles d’Anjou must have enjoyed the wine as well, since he had 16,000 Fiano vines planted in the royal vineyards.

Fresh and minerally, slightly smoky with notes of lemon peel and pear. Medium body, excellent fruit, long finish carries a note of grilled pineapple and dried fruits. Food Pairings: Perfect as an aperitif

Luis Gutierrez of the Wine Advocate writes 92 Points | The Albariño 2023 El Jardín de Lucía was produced by Zarate mixing grapes from different villages in Salnés, Meaño and Meis. It has an expressive nose that mixes white flowers and apples and is quite fresh and elegant. It has a moderate 12.5% alcohol, some more leesy aromas and a round palate, with pungent flavors and a gentle texture.  It was bottled in May 2024.  Drinking 2024 to 2027.

Medium body, fine tannins and a subtle, polished finish Winemaker Description  A clean, bright, pretty red color, developing to maroon. Intense and highly complex aromas. Notes of stewed fruit. Sweet and warm hints from the barrel, and spicy nuances in the background (cinnamon). Nice and long on the palate. Slight acidity is offset by the sweet notes of toasted oak and fruit. The wine has a very long finish, marks by hints of stewed fruit and oak.

VINEYARD The Hendry Vineyard is located on bench lands just west of the town of Napa. The vines grow on thin stony soils between 200 and 300 feet above sea level. Morning fog and afternoon breezes from the San Pablo Bay moderate our climate. We are just a mile or so from the Carneros region of Napa, and enjoy similar marine-layer influence.

This wine is a selection from our three Chardonnay blocks: Block 9 (Old Wente/KD Clone, planted 1974) which has just reached 50 years of age, Block 19 (Dijon 96, planted 1996), and Block 20 (Dijon 95, planted 1996).

VINTAGE In 2023, budbreak in the Chardonnay blocks was March 23rd. Bloom took place between May 30th and June 1st, and veraison on August 7th, setting the pace for a later harvest than usual. Harvest took place from September 11th through the 15th. Average bloom to harvest was 105 days. Yield was 2.46 tons per acre in the old Block 9, and 3.41 tons per acre in 19 and 20.

WINEMAKING At harvest, half of the fruit from these blocks is whole-cluster crushed and fermented entirely in stainless steel at a cold temperature, about 50 degrees. It is protected from oxygen exposure to prevent oxidation. These two measures help to preserve the fresh fruit flavors of Chardonnay grown in our cooler climate. It is not allowed to go through malolactic fermentation and remains in stainless steel for cold-settling until bottling. Screw-cap closure.

This unassuming, unadorned wine highlights the beauty and purity of our Chardonnay fruit. Blocks 9, 19 and 20 are all small-yielding, producing concentrated, flavorful fruit. The variety of clones contributes to the complexity of these wines. 

NOTES Pale straw color. Aromas of green and pink apples, stone fruits. Light-bodied, with pleasing flavors of tangy apple and citrus. Balanced palate. Fresh and vibrant, with green apple and lemony acidity in the surprisingly long finish. Keep it light when pairing with this wine. The storied Domaine de Montille traces its history in Burgundy back to the 1730s. Hubert de Montille took the helm in 1947 with a drive and passion that eventually earned the family a place in the upper echelon of Burgundy estates.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Etienne de Montille grew the family holdings to 35 hectares and in 1995, took the bold step of transitioning the vineyards to organic and biodynamic farming.

One of the rare Burgundy estates that excels in reds and whites in both the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits, along with many more sectors of the region with its sister petit negociant project, Maison de Montille (formerly known as DEux Montilles). 

The winemaking at de Montille has evolved over the years, and the resulting wines are less austere in their youth than in the Hubert era. Today’s wines are fresh and elegant with terroir-transparency and a structure that is built to last.

San Francisco Chronicle | Brendel likes to say that they have a secret ingredient: dirt. Their range of wines are made from some of the best sites in Napa’s most renowned regions, including the eastern side of Rutherford (the main component here), the highest elevations of Howell Mountain, two diverse sites in St. Helena, and a steep plot in Oak Knoll. Each vineyard is chosen for its quality and unique aptitude, with soil types ranging from volcanic to clay to bring out the best in each grape in their array of wines. The 2021 Brendel Cooper’s Reed Cabernet Sauvignon is a fresh and vibrant take on Napa Valley’s famed grape varietal. Harvested under moonlight, the fruit is crushed at cool temperatures and then thoughtfully monitored throughout fermentation. Graupert – "wild" in the local Burgenland dialect – is the name given to Meinklang Estate's orange wine. Made from Pinot Gris, it takes its shade from a 17-day skin maceration. Raised on fine lees in stainless steel tanks for 8 months, it is unfiltered and vegan. 

The wine baffles by its colour, but captivates by its tension, its notes of dried apricot, candied orange zest, mandarin and flowers. The perfect bottle to accompany a poke bowl or tuna tataki.

Cherry red with a very deeply colored blue rim, showing great density and amplitude upon swirling. Very fruity on the nose, with notes of liquorice and redcurrant underscored by subtle hints of cinnamon and juniper. Rounded and full-bodied in the mouth, with a glycerine texture. Powerful attack, with noticeably seductive tannins and a freshness that sustains it through the palate, making it long and enjoyable. The black fruit and fragrant notes of oak return again on the finish.

Clarendelle belongs to Clarence Dillon Wines, which also owns the legendary Bordeaux Châteaux Haut-Brion. Of course, Clarendelle's vines don't grow next to Haut-Brion's.

However, the great art of Bordeaux wines (even the best ones) is the blending, the ability to combine wines from different locations and grape varieties in such a way that the result is greater than the sum of the individual parts.

The same team that is responsible for the top wines at Clarence Dillon Wines also makes the assemblages at Clarendelle. The result is very good Bordeaux at affordable prices.

Kerin O'Keefe 91 Points |  A blend of 85% Carricante and 15% Catarratto planted on Etna’s northern slopes, this has aromas of Spanish broom, citrus and stone fruit. Linear, savory and full of energy, the palate features yellow apple, white peach, lemon zest and saline mineral alongside bright acidity.

We only grow indigenous grapes: Nerello Mascalese, Carricante and Catarratto with a great attention to sustainability. Cultivation of vineyards is certified organic, with careful selections and search for full maturity, limiting the yields in the vineyard to a minimum. The approach in the winery is rigorous, in search of precision and finesse.Vinification and aging take place in concrete tanks, in tini and large barrels produced with very long seasoned wood.

All the work is aimed at favoring the personality of the vines, keeping intact the differences and nuances between one vintage and the other, in the belief that only by satisfying and respecting the natural expression of a great territory can wines have the potential to truly evoke emotion.

Bart Hopkins of 67Wine.com writes | This super delicious Italian red is made from a blend of organically grown Barbera and Bonarda grown in the Trebbia Valley (hence the name Trebbiolo) in Emilia Romagna. Plump and juicy, with brambly red and black fruit aromas on the bouquet that expands generously on the palate. Our Cabernet Sauvignon captures the essence of the grapes grown at the lofty altitude of 900 meters in the unique cool climate of the Gush Etzion region. For 20 months the wine matures in French Oak barrels until attaining a flavor that is elegant and complex.

Gush Etzion is located in the Judean region, situated south of Jerusalem, at one of the highest altitudes in Israel. This area has been recognized for thousands of years for wine growing. The climate, differences in day and night temperatures, chalky soil, the sloping vineyards, and altitude of over 900 meters above sea level, create ideal conditions for wine growing.

Shraga and Tamar z”l Rosenberg’s passion for winemaking grew became a small winery in which they produced 700 bottles a year. Within a few years, plans were drawn up to create a winery at the Gush Etzion junction and partner with local Kibbutzim to plant vineyards. Today, there are more than 600 dunams of grapevines planted in and around the area.

The Lone Oak Tree Series
The varietal series of the Winery is named after the famous tree that stood at the center of the four kibbutzim which were established in Gush Etzion before the War of Independence. Until the return of Jewish communities to the area, those who looked from afar with longing at Gush Etzion, would see the oak tree. Upon returning to the place, this “Lone Oak Tree” became the symbol of the renewal of the communities of Gush Etzion.

Varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Matured for 21 months in a French oak barrel.
