Taylor Fladgate 10 Year Tawny Port 750ml PORT 90WS 90WE 93RP 93JS
Winemaker Description
An exceptionally fine old tawny blend, aged for 10 years in oak casks. Elegant and smooth, combining delicate wood notes and rich mellow fruit, it is bottled for immediate drinking. A superb dessert wine, particularly with dishes made with chocolate, coffee or almonds, Taylor's 10 Year Old Tawny may also be served at the end of the meal in the same way as Vintage Port.
Expert Ratings
93 Points Robert Parker | It is my opinion that Taylor's tawny ports are the best of their type. When tasted against other tawnys, they all exhibit more aromatic personalities, greater fruit and ripeness, and a wonderful sweetness and length. The Ten Year Old Tawny is a personal favorite, as well as the best bargain among these ports.
Points James Suckling | Beautiful sweet berries with walnut, toffee and caramel undertones on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with medium sweetness and a chocolate and toffee aftertaste. A richer style of 10-year-old and delicious. Drink now.
Points Wine Spectator | This has a nice racy edge to the mix of slightly dried red cherry and raspberry fruit, backed by red tea and singed vanilla. Shows good tension from start to finish. Drink now. 500 cases imported.
Points Wine Enthusiast | This ivery complete aged tawny has all the right nuts and fruit characters that show a Port that still looks back to its fruity origins. The style is ripe, full and sweet, a mellow wine that only hints at the spirit behind it.
Famille Vincent Pouilly Fuisse Marie Antoinette 2023 750ml
Famille Vincent Pouilly-Fuissé Marie Antoinette — Mâconnais, Burgundy 2023
Famille Vincent is the family behind Château Fuissé — one of the most celebrated and historic domaines in Pouilly-Fuissé, and the benchmark producer of the appellation. Located in the village of Fuissé in the Mâconnais, the estate has been in the Vincent family for generations and is today led by Antoine Vincent, who continues the family's commitment to expressing the full potential of Chardonnay on the distinctive limestone and clay soils of southern Burgundy. The Marie Antoinette cuvée is a tribute to Marie-Antoinette Vincent — Antoine's grandmother and a beloved figure in the family's history — crafted to be an approachable, high-quality introduction to the Château Fuissé style: elegant, mineral, and unmistakably Pouilly-Fuissé.
The color is pale yellow with hints of green. The nose offers a touch of oak alongside great finesse and minerality — white flowers, lemon, and apple scents lead into aromas of melon, kiwi, peach, and apricot. On the palate, the wine is fresh, round, and fruity with a lovely mineral backbone and a nicely balanced, long finish. Elegant and complete — a Pouilly-Fuissé that drinks well above its price.

Montenidoli Canaiuolo Toscana Rosé 2025 750ml
Our Buyer’s Review
Debra, 67Wine Rosé Buyer | Elegant and expressive. Produced from 100% Canaiuolo — a traditional red grape grown in the San Gimignano production zone of Tuscany — this distinctive rosé reveals vibrant notes of red berry fruits, citrus, and wild herbs, balanced by savory and mineral notes. Dry and fresh on the palate, medium to full-bodied, with a touch of salinity and a long, refined finish. Versatile and food-friendly. 100% Organic.
Winemaker Description
Elisabetta Fagiuoli and her husband Sergio founded their 50-hectare estate in 1965, on a hillside across the valley from San Gimignano. The vineyards sit on some of the oldest rock in Italy — it is said vines were first planted here by the Etruscans in the 7th century BC. All farming is organic, yields are low, and quality control is ruthless.
This soft and savory rosato is made from 100% hand-harvested Canaiuolo from 65+ year-old vines, undergoing a lengthy fermentation before bottling. Light salmon-pink in the glass with aromas of strawberries, watermelon, and ripe cherry. Crisp and refreshing on the palate with elegant minerality and a lively finish. The perfect aperitif — ideally served in a Champagne flute.
Food Pairings
Grilled salmon, tomato salad, charcuterie, grilled poultry, aged cheeses, farro and borlotti bean soup, and cacciucco (Tuscan seafood stew). Equally perfect on its own as a summer aperitif.

Bruno Giacosa Roero Arneis DOCG 2023 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2023
James Suckling 93 Points | A fresh and crunchy white with light lemons, mangoes and bitter limes. It’s medium- to full-bodied with lots of fruit. The hot growing season comes through, but it remains fresh at the end.
The Bruno Giacosa 2023 Roero Arneis will be a smaller release due to fruit that was damaged during a hailstorm the first week of July. Nonetheless, this wine remains salty, mineral-driven and bright with citrus and white peach. It is executed in stainless steel only. Perhaps this vintage is a little thinner in terms of mouthfeel, but it draws to a close with lingering acidity.
Winemaker Description
Intense straw colored with greenish glints. The nose presents lemon, pineapple, peach and apricot notes with floral hints. On the palate, it is fresh, full-bodied, with mineral notes and a persistent finish.
Flowers Pinot Noir Rose 2025 750ml
Flowers Pinot Noir Rosé — Sonoma Coast, California 2025
Flowers Winery is one of California's most celebrated coastal producers, farming estate vineyards on the extreme Sonoma Coast — just miles from the Pacific Ocean — where relentless marine influence, persistent fog, and cool temperatures produce wines of exceptional freshness, tension, and minerality. Their Pinot Noir Rosé is a benchmark for the California coastal rosé style: not a simple summer sipper, but a wine of genuine structure and complexity that happens to be pink.
The 2025 pours a delicate, luminous hue. The nose is lifted and aromatic — wild strawberry, rose petal, and a trio of fresh, sweet, and candied ruby grapefruit, underscored by a layer of wet stone minerality that speaks directly to the estate's coastal terroir. On the palate, the entry is welcoming and supple, with hallmark flavors of red grapefruit and a hint of vine-ripened watermelon. The palate is taut and neatly structured, with a latticework of texture and acidity that supports a persistent, mouth-watering finish. Serve well chilled at 45–50°F.

Domaine Olivier Foucher Sancerre Le Chant du Silex 2024 750ml
Domaine Olivier Foucher | Sancerre AOC, Loire Valley, France | 2024
Olivier Foucher took over his family's 10.5-hectare estate in 2011 after studies in viticulture and oenology and years working alongside his parents. Le Chant du Silex — "The Song of the Flint" — takes its name from the estate's prized silex (flinty) soils, which impart a signature smoky, gunflint minerality and exceptional aging potential. The focus here is precision and tension: energetic, bright, and impeccably balanced rather than tropical or overworked.

Domaine Isabelle & Denis Pommier Petit Chablis Hauterivien 2023 750ml
Domaine Isabelle & Denis Pommier | Petit Chablis Hauterivien | 2023
Petit Chablis gets unfairly dismissed as the entry-level tier of the Chablis hierarchy — but in the right hands, from the right soils, it is one of Burgundy’s great bargains. Domaine Pommier’s version carries a designation that sets it apart: Hauterivien, referring to the specific Hauterivian geological stratum — an ancient limestone and clay layer that predates even the famous Kimmeridgian soils of Premier and Grand Cru Chablis. The result is a Chardonnay of genuine Chablis typicity: lean, mineral, and precise, with ripe pear, apple, and citrus zest on the nose, a caressing middleweight palate, and a refreshing, clean finish. No oak, no artifice — just the pure expression of cool-climate Chardonnay on ancient Burgundian limestone. As Lettie Teague noted in the Wall Street Journal, Petit Chablis is “a grand wine for spring drinking and a bargain, too, compared with other white Burgundies.” Pommier’s is proof.
- Appellation: Petit Chablis AOC, Burgundy, France
- Varietal: 100% Chardonnay
- Terroir: Hauterivian limestone & clay soils
- Vintage: 2023
- Format: 750ml
- Style: Unoaked, mineral-driven, dry white
- Drink Window: Now – 2028
Critical Acclaim
Burghound — Allen Meadows: Good Chablis typicity to the ripe yet fresh aromas of mostly pear, apple and zest. The caressing and nicely punchy middleweight flavors deliver acceptable depth and persistence on the refreshing finish. Should drink well almost immediately upon release.
Wall Street Journal — Lettie Teague (August 2024): “A Big Value in White Burgundy — Petit Chablis is actually a grand wine for spring drinking and a bargain, too, compared with other white Burgundies.”
Tasting Notes
White fruits, pear, apple, and citrus zest on the nose with honeysuckle and a fine mineral thread. Lively, even, and ripe on the palate with a fresh, clean finish.
Pairing Suggestions
- Seafood: Oysters, steamed mussels, grilled sole, or shrimp with lemon.
- Poultry: Roast chicken, chicken with cream sauce, or light charcuterie.
- Cheese: Fresh chèvre, mild Brie, or a simple cheese plate.
Azienda Agricola COS FRAPPATO Biodynamic 2024 750ml
Winemaker Description
Giusto Occhipinti of COS is a benchmark producer in the Vittoria appellation of Sicily, and certainly one of the most important, influential, producers in all of Sicily if not Italy as a whole. The winery was founded in 1980 by three friends, Giambattista Cilia, Giusto Occhipinti, and Cirino Strano. The initials of their last names form the winery’s name.
For Giusto, “the vineyard is like our life’s savings in the bank, so we must protect it.” Protecting it means that they work organically and biodynamically to support the health of the soil. They have never used any synthetic or chemical additives in the vineyard since the outset in 1980. Officially, the winery was an early practitioner of Biodynamic viticulture starting in 2000 and was certified organic as of 2007. The climate of Vittoria is also generally warm and dry making it well-adapted to organic & biodynamic viticulture. Giusto and his vineyard team also prepare many of the Biodynamic treatments in-house, though a few are purchased elsewhere from small, reputable sources for these important products.
Throughout the entire range, there is a focus on elegance and purity, especially the joyous, floral Frappato – Sicily’s answer to Cru Beaujolais.
The bright red fruit flavors of cherry and strawberry are vibrant and aromatic with low tannins and fresh acidity.
Marques de Vargas Rioja Gran Reserva 2017 750ml
Rioja Gran Reserva That Rivals Wines Twice the Price
Marques de Vargas is one of Rioja’s most respected estates, distinguished by its commitment to varietal correctness and minimal intervention. Only indigenous yeasts from the vineyard are used for fermentation — a philosophy that prioritizes terroir expression over the homogenizing effects of commercial yeast. Rather than chasing the heavily extracted, over-oaked style common in the appellation, Marques de Vargas produces a Gran Reserva of remarkable freshness, elegance, and longevity.
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2017

Domaine Le Galantin Bandol Rose Organic 2025 750ml
Domaine Le Galantin Bandol Rosé Organic — Provence 2025 750ml
Domaine Le Galantin is one of Bandol’s most authentic and quietly revered estates — a family domaine farming southwest-facing hillsides of clay and limestone in the heart of Provence’s most serious appellation. Their Bandol Rosé is the benchmark for the style: structured, complex, and built to age in a way that most Provençal rosés simply cannot. Blended from approximately 62% Mourvèdre, 21% Cinsault, and 17% Grenache — all hand-harvested — it is vinified with meticulous care: a two-day cold soak at 5°C to extract fruit and aromatics, cool fermentation with blocked malolactic, and bottling no earlier than March 1st as required by Bandol appellation law. Around 5,850 cases produced.
Pale salmon in color with brilliant clarity. The nose is expressive and aromatic: peach, nectarine, grapefruit, dried orange zest, and a touch of Provençal spice. On the palate, the attack is round and fresh, with a structured, complex mid-palate of citrus and red fruit. The finish is persistent and salivating — a rare combination of finesse and character that sets Bandol apart from every other rosé in the world.

Senorio De Libano Rioja Castillo de Sajazarra Reserva 2019 750ml
Bodegas Señorío de Líbano Castillo de Sajazarra Rioja Reserva 2019 750ml The headquarters of this winery is nestled in the picturesque village of Sajazarra, a true gem of a town in La Rioja, Spain. This Reserva blends Tempranillo, Graciano, and Garnacha. Aged 24 months in French and American oak barrels and further aged for 12 months in the bottle. In my opinion, this Reserva drinks more like a Gran Reserva with a nose that opens up with a combination of secondary and tertiary aromas: leather, smoke, mushrooms, and perfectly matured red fruit. The oak adds to the mouthfeel, and its well-integrated tannins serve as proof of why Rioja Reservas are always ready to drink without hesitation. Grab this Reserva and serve with a grilled churrasco.

"Our role as stewards of our 200 acres is a vital part of our process. Cooper Mountain has always been a trailblazer in sustainable growing, receiving organic certification from Oregon Tilth in 1995. Our commitment to these practices is an important part of our identity and that's why 100% of our wines are organically grown. We believe in Biodynamic farming practices. We've been farming that way since the early 90's and received our certification from Demeter in 1999. Every bottle of wine we make today is made from Biodynamic grapes."

Solena Estate Pinot Noir Grand Cuvee 2022 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2022
Eric Guido writes: Delicate and understated, the 2022 Pinot Noir Grande Cuvée opens with a peppery citrus tinge and dusty dried strawberries. It's round and softly textured with pure red berry fruits riding a wave of brisk acidity. An herbal tinge comes forward over time as gently grippy tannins tug at the cheeks and hints of licorice fade. Drinking 2025 to 2030. - Vinous 91
Audrey Frick writes: Medium ruby red-hued, the 2022 Pinot Noir Grande Cuvee is expressive and elegant on the nose, with notes of red cherries, candied cranberries, roses, fresh spice and herbs, and lifted piney herbs. Medium-bodied, it has a weightless, linear feel, with fine tannins, even acidity, and a clean, tapered finish with a light herbal note. It’s a very charming wine to drink over the next 5-6 years. Drinking 2024 to 2030. - Jeb Dunnuck 91
James Suckling writes: Lemon zest, mushrooms, raspberries and sliced strawberries on the nose. Some rose petal, too. It’s bright and fruity, with a medium body and powdery tannins. Chalky, grainy elements at the end. Better in 2024. - James Suckling 90
Clive Pursehouse writes: An early released wine blended from estate sites within the McMinnville and Yamhill-Carlton AVAs. Earthen aromatics of sous bois, moss, and turned garden soils are lifted by a note of bright berries. Ripe raspberry, pomegranate and savoury sumac predominate the palate and are buoyed by mint and wild fennel notes. Drinking 2023 to 2029. - Decanter 92

Bodegas Beronia Rioja GRAN Reserva 2018 750ml
Beronia Wineries: Experience the Excellence of Rioja GRAN Reserva 2018
Our Professional Review
Oscar Garcia 67Wine.com | Beronia Gran Reserva is one of my favorite Gran Reservas. Every vintage seems to get better and better. The long-term aging Gran Reserva gives the wine time to develop a great arrange of flavors and nuances, not found in younger wines. Aromas of toasty oak, cassis, dark plum and cedar. Medium to full-bodied. Great length and integration. Serious but approachable.
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2018
James Suckling 92 Points | Attractive nose with a hint of walnut husk and dark earth to the black cherries and sweet tobacco. A hint of truffle and sous-bois, too. Medium-bodied on the palate with firm, dusty tannins that grow and extend in a long, succulent finish. Tempranillo, graciano and mazuelo.
The Wine Enthusiast 92 Points | Deep violet to the eye, this wine has a nose of black plum, dark chocolate and dried hillside herbs. Bold red berry flavors are joined by plush tannins and deeper notes of mocha, truffle and thyme. As flavors and textures wind down on the palate, a note of orange zest remains.
The Wine Spectator 90 Points | A classy red, fresh and fragrant, with notes of bay leaf, pepper and tar-tinged mineral accenting crushed cherry and blackberry fruit flavors. Shows good focus, with lightly chalky tannins in a medium-bodied frame. Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano. Drink now through 2026. 50,000 cases made, 3,500 cases imported.
Memo Summary Notes
The Bodegas Beronia Rioja Gran Reserva 2018 represents the pinnacle of Beronia’s classic lineup. While the Mi Villa you looked at earlier is fresh and unoaked, this Gran Reserva is the complete opposite: a wine defined by patience, extensive aging, and complex secondary flavors.
A wine of this stature needs "heavy lifters" to match its intensity:
-
-
Game: Roasted duck or wild boar ragu.
-
Mature Cheeses: Aged Manchego, Roncal, or even a salty Blue cheese.
-
Umami Dishes: Anything involving truffles or wild forest mushrooms.
Red Meats: Slow-roasted lamb shanks, prime rib, or venison.
-

Beringer Vineyards KNIGHTS VALLEY Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 750ml
About This Wine
Beringer's Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has long been one of California's benchmark expressions of the variety — a wine that bridges Napa's richness with Sonoma's elegance. Sourced from the volcanic soils of Knights Valley, just east of the Mayacamas Mountains, the 2022 vintage delivers everything this appellation is known for: depth, structure, and a sense of place.
The 2022 growing season brought warmth and richness, yielding bold layers of blackcurrant, plum, and boysenberry, accented by dark chocolate, sage, and hints of tobacco and cedar. Extended maceration extracted maximum color and flavor, while 14 months in French oak (30% new) added spice and texture without overwhelming the fruit. Fine-grained tannins and bright acidity give this wine both immediate appeal and genuine aging potential.

- Color: Deep plum with ruby highlights
- Nose: Blackcurrant, boysenberry, cassis, dark chocolate, sage, cedar, wild lavender

Zarate Albarino Val do Salnes 2025 750ml
Zárate Albaríno Val do Salnés — Rías Baixas 2025
Zárate is the benchmark producer of Val do Salnés — the cradle of Albaríno and the most celebrated sub-zone of Rías Baixas. The estate farms 7 hectares across 11 vineyards surrounding the villages of Sisán and Padrenda, with vines averaging 35 years of age planted on granite soils some 50 meters above sea level. Three of those vineyards are planted with ungrafted pre-Phylloxera vines — a rarity anywhere in the world. Since 1994, all plots have been farmed without plowing, with natural ground cover and zero herbicides; since 2006, the estate has held certification for controlled, integrated production. The harvest is purely manual, with grape selection on the vine, gentle whole-bunch pressing, and spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel — the wine then rests on its lees for three months to build complexity before bottling. The result is Albaríno as it was meant to be.
Beautiful pale straw yellow in the glass. The nose is layered and immediate: tropical fruit, lemon zest, white peach, and the unmistakable sea-breeze salinity that defines Val do Salnés. On the palate, it is fresh, balanced, and elegant — vibrant natural acidity framing fine, fruity notes on a mineral, granite-driven background. The finish is clean, saline, and long. This is the Atlantic in a glass.

Raventos i Blanc Conca Del Riu Anoia Blanc de Blancs 2023 750ml
Raventós i Blanc | Blanc de Blancs | Conca del Riu Anoia | 2023
In 2012, Raventós i Blanc made a decision that sent shockwaves through the Spanish sparkling wine world: they resigned from the Cava DO. The family — whose roots in Penedès go back to 1497 — felt that Cava’s rules had drifted too far from quality and terroir, and they walked away to found their own appellation: Conca del Riu Anoia. The standards here are strict — all organic farming, indigenous varieties only, traditional method, and a minimum of 18 months on the lees. The Blanc de Blancs is sourced from Vinya del Llac, a single vineyard over 40 years old, and blends Xarel·lo (50%), Macabeu (35%), Parellada (10%), and the rare Malvasia de Sitges (5%) — none of which went through malolactic fermentation, preserving the wine’s natural tension and freshness. The 2023 vintage was the third consecutive year of extreme drought in the zone, producing a small, concentrated crop harvested earlier than ever. The result is a sparkling wine of genuine complexity: aromatic herbs, dry hay, and straw on the nose; vibrant, mineral, and zesty on the palate; with abundant fine bubbles and a spark of freshness that lingers through the finish.
- Appellation: Conca del Riu Anoia, Penedès, Spain

Tenuta Di Fessina Erse Mt. Etna Bianco 2024 750ml
Tenuta di Fessina “Erse” Etna Bianco — Mt. Etna, Sicily 2024
Named after Erse, the Greek goddess of morning dew, this wine is a direct expression of the mist-shrouded, high-altitude vineyards that cling to the northern slopes of Mt. Etna. Tenuta di Fessina is one of the pioneering estates of the Etna renaissance — a project born from a deep belief that these ancient volcanic soils, farmed by small growers for generations, could produce wines of world-class distinction. The “Erse” Bianco is their signature white: a pure, mineral-driven Carricante that captures the tension and transparency only Etna can deliver.
The 2024 vintage on Etna was marked by cool nights and excellent diurnal range, preserving the grape’s natural acidity and aromatic precision. The result is a wine of striking vibrancy — toasty minerality and citrus on the nose, with lemon tree, lemon paste, and a whisper of candied fruit. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has real tension and a tight, focused finish that lingers with volcanic energy. James Suckling awarded it 93 points and called it “complex” — high praise for a wine at this price.

Domaine Fournier Pere & Fils Sancerre Pinot Noir Rose Organic Vegan 2024 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2024
The Wine Enthusiast by Aleks Zecevic writes 89 Points | Suave and polished in style, this Pinot offers ripe cherry and blackberry fruit, with silky tannins and a touch of spice. The structure is light but balanced, finishing with moderate length and good poise.
Winemaker Description
Made from 100% Pinot Noir vines aged between 10 to 15 years old, the vineyard grows on a soil subtletly balanced between layers of clay and layers of rocky sand. The Pinot Noir flourishes in the mild Loire climate, necessary to the grape’s maturity
Memo Summary Notes
The 2024 Domaine Fournier Père & Fils Sancerre Rosé "Les Belles Vignes" is a premium, high-altitude expression of Pinot Noir. Fournier is one of the most prominent names in Sancerre, and their "Les Belles Vignes" cuvée is highly regarded for its "gastronomic" style—meaning it has the structure and complexity to be paired with a full meal, rather than just served as an aperitif.
This is a Rose that the French like to call a gastronomic, a wine made for food! The Pinot Noir rose is tangy, red berry, and very juicy. From vines that are on average 15 years old the wine smells of raspberriy, watermelon and a touch of lavender. The juicy, mouth watering flavors will remind you of red berries, redcurrants and perhaps a bit of peach. A perfect Loire Rose for these warm day!
Food Pairings
• Seafood: Stir-fried prawns, grilled salmon, or lobster rolls.
• Exotic Cuisine: Its weight and fruitiness allow it to stand up to spicy Thai dishes or Moroccan couscous.

Alphonse Mellot Sancerre La Moussiere 2025 750ml
Alphonse Mellot La Moussière Sancerre — Loire Valley 2025
Alphonse Mellot is one of Sancerre’s most storied and celebrated estates — and the only domaine in the entire Sancerrois to hold the prestigious hors concours (beyond competition) distinction. La Moussière is the estate’s flagship cuvée: a 100% Sauvignon Blanc sourced from the La Moussière vineyard at the very heart of the Sancerre appellation, farmed biodynamically since 1999 and hand-harvested in its entirety. Aged for 8 months on the lees in a combination of wood, concrete, and stainless steel vessels, the wine develops remarkable texture and complexity while allowing the pure fruit to shine through with no evidence of oak flavor. The 2023 vintage earned 90 points from Vinous — and the 2025 continues that legacy.
The color is a resplendent golden robe with glints of green. The nose is floral and fruity: white flowers, citrus, and the characteristic mineral tension of great Sancerre. On the palate, it is rounded and airy — finely textured with curved edges from lees aging, with pure lemon, nettle, and fresh pineapple characters singing through a clean, mineral-driven finish of real precision and length. Fish tartare, smoked salmon, or a girolle mushroom omelette are the classic pairings.
Vinous 90 (Prior 2023 vintage) — “A rounded, airy wine with pure, clear fruit. Finely textured with curved edges. The pure fruit shines through with no evidence of oak flavor, allowing the pretty lemon, nettle and fresh pineapple characters to sing.”

Bezel Cakebread Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2023 750ml
Our Professional Review
Bart of 67Wine.com writes | Cakebread Cabernet Sauvignon is one of Napa Valley’s shining stars, but it’s always a ‘special occasion’ wine that’s priced beyond the reach of ordinary quaffing. The good news is Cakebread is now producing an affordable top notch Cabernet from Paso Robles that drinks deliciously.
Winemaker Description
Our Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles is bold and generous, with intriguing depth and loads of California charisma. Layers of sun-kissed wild blackberries alternate with boysenberry jam, dried bay leaf, and dark chocolate. This California Cab makes friends wherever it goes.
We source our Paso Robles Cabernet from two sites at opposite ends of the appellation, so we can combine the best of both: great tannin structure and acidity, as well as plush, generous fruit with a classic herbal edge.”

Domaine Champalou Vouvray Sec 2024 750ml
Domaine Champalou | Vouvray Sec | Loire Valley | 2024
Vouvray is Chenin Blanc’s spiritual home — a small appellation on the Loire’s right bank where the grape has been grown for centuries in the region’s distinctive tuffeau limestone soils. Domaine Champalou, run by Céline and Didier Champalou, is one of the appellation’s most beloved estates: biodynamically farmed, meticulous in the cellar, and utterly consistent in producing Vouvray of purity and grace. The Sec (dry) is the entry point into their range and it is a masterclass in what Chenin Blanc can do when the terroir is right and the winemaking gets out of the way. Stony minerality from the limestone, luscious almost-honeyed fruit, and delicate floral notes combine on a palate that is simultaneously fresh and textural — the kind of wine that seems effortless but is anything but. Serve cold, drink often.
- Appellation: Vouvray AOC, Loire Valley, France
- Varietal: 100% Chenin Blanc
- Style: Sec (dry)
- Vintage: 2024
- Format: 750ml
- Soils: Tuffeau limestone
- Farming: Biodynamic
- Drink Window: Now – 2032
Tasting Notes
Stony minerality, luscious honeyed fruit, and delicate floral notes. Fresh, pure, and textural with a long, clean finish.
67 Wine Picks
"Céline Champalou’s Vouvray is always a joy to drink. The wine seems so pure, as if it bubbled up out of the limestone into a cool, limpid pool tended by nymphs and satyrs who pour it into the mouths of weary souls. That’s what I feel, anyway, when I grab a bottle from the fridge."
Pairing Suggestions
- Seafood: Grilled white fish, shellfish, or scallops with a light cream sauce.
- Poultry: Roasted chicken, turkey, or grilled meats with herb butter.
- Global: Japanese cuisine, Thai dishes with lemongrass, or roasted vegetables.
- Aperitif: An ideal pre-dinner pour on its own.
