Expert Rating
James Suckling | A solid, precise and lively Sancerre with so much mineral character. Aromas of leaves, flint, gunpowder, mild spices and dried lemons dominate on the nose. It’s medium-bodied yet so intense, full of verve and drive. There is a bright acidity driving the vertical dimension in the long, focused, stony finish. (2022).

Domaine Thierry et Pascale Matrot Bourgogne Blanc 2021 750ml
This fabulous Bourgogne is a dead ringer for a top quality Meursault, and for good reason. Matrot’s vineyards lie mostly in Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault-Blagny, and the winemaking for the Bourgogne is made with the same special care as the top wines. This delicious 2021 Bourgogne is round and fleshy with flavors and aromas of white peach, pear and nectarine. Plump in the mouth with a delightful mid palate that finishes with lively freshness and and just a shade of toasty oak. Great with chicken, fish and vegetarian dishes.
Bart Hopkins

Chateau D'Armailhac Pauillac 2016 750ml 95 pts James Suckling
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2016
95 Points James Suckling | This is a really driven d’Armailhac showing blackcurrants and fruit tea with hints of bark on the nose and palate. Full-bodied, very firm and structured with a long and powerful finish. Direct and linear. Try after 2023.
94 Points Jeb Dunnuck | A thrilling bottle of wine that readers should snatch up is the 2016 Château d’Armailhac. This deeply colored, medium to full-bodied, powerful Armailhac gives up a lovely perfume of blackberry and plums fruits, violets, graphite, cedar pencil, and earthy, herbal nuances. Classic, ripe, layered, and just a beautiful Pauillac any way you look at it, it has plenty of upfront sex appeal but is going to keep for 20-25 years as well. Bravo! The 2016 is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
93 Points Decanter | There's fairly high acidity on the attack here, and yet it's well balanced by a body that's richer and deeper than in many years of Armailhac. You can definitely feel the texture and the powerful depth of brambly fruit, and there are also some of the signature lilting floral notes, given extra charge through graphite, liquorice, cassis, and that pulsating acidity. Great quality. 2% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Drinking Window 2024 - 2038.
93 Points Wine Advocate | Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 D'Armailhac opens with gregarious crème de cassis, blackberry pie and mulberries scents with hints of chocolate box, roses and charcoal with a waft of dried sage. Medium-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid frame of firm, grainy tannins and wonderful freshness, finishing long and earthy.
93 Points Vinous | The 2016 d’Armailhac, which was bottled in May 2018, has an elegant bouquet that unfolds in the glass, offering blackberries, briar and a touch of cedar and mint. The palate is medium-bodied with dense tannin, grippy in the mouth, and quite voluminous, with perhaps more density on the solid, almost broad-shouldered finish compared to the Clerc-Milon. This fulfills all my expectations from my barrel tasting and is quite simply one of the best d’Armailhac wines ever made.
93 Points Wine Spectator | This juicy red sports dark plum, fig and boysenberry fruit backed by an equally strong wave of bramble and sweet tobacco notes. The cast-iron spine pins down the finish, so give this a little time to integrate fully. Best from 2023 through 2038.
Peter Lauer Barrel X Riesling 2023 750ml
Experience the excellence of Peter Lauer's 2023 Riesling. As one of the best value wines from the Saar,Barrel X” is Florian Lauer’s Platonic ideal of what a slightly off-dry (feinherb) Saar Riesling should be. Complex notes of citrus rind, tart green apple, saline, and minerals. Refreshing, and approachable this is the perfect bottle to kick-start any day. Winemaker Description.
Catch & Release Block Party ORANGE WINE 2023 750ml
Deeply tropical and inherently aromatic, the wine holds all the niceties of skin maceration without losing freshness. Tension is brought about by ripeness and lift on the palate without losing the fundamental operative of being delicious. The swiss army knife of skin contact wines.
The Pinot Gris and Gewürztraminer were de-stemmed and fermented on the skins for 15 days, then pressed and finished both primary and secondary fermentation in neutral French oak. The Riesling came in five weeks later with a kiss of noble rot, and it went direct to press, and was fermented in stainless steel before being moved to neutral oak for secondary fermentation. Both lots were aged sur lie and only racked once for blending/bottling. 100% native yeast and the only addition was S02. Winemaker Description.
Bonny Doon Vin Gris de Cigare Rosé 2023 750ml
Winemaker Description
One of California's original pinks! Wild strawberry, peach, guava and rhubarb and a very discreet scent of white pepper with Cinsault furnishing the elegant candied cherry top note that chromatically sits atop its vitaceous conjugate. Mourvèdre, at its near homeopathic level, contributes a useful background earthy note.
Heidi Schrock & Sohne Gelber Muskateller 2022 750ml
It is not known for certain how long Gelber Muskateller has been in the Rust vineyards. We do know that this grape variety used to be called Weirer. This name comes from Weihrauch (frankincense) because the nutmeg scent is so prevalent. Winemaker Description.
Green apple, papaya, pineapple, white flowers, peppermint and flint dominate this rich, extracted and exotic delight from Heidi Schröck. Winemaker Description.
Planeta Mt. Etna Bianco 2022 750ml
Wine Enthusiast | An intensely smoky nose draws balance from undertones of ripe melon, lemon zest, pepper and an umami cheesiness that brings a charcuterie board to mind. The palate is equally smoky, with persistent citrus, plus a warm undercurrent of salt, continuing to provide balance.
PointsThe Carricante grapes from Etna are the result of the combination of black sand and altitude, which provide distinct aromas and three dimensional flavors. In this vintage, there are notes of white acacia flowers, fresh almonds and mountain peaches. On the palate it is juicy and full of hints of yellow plums and prickly pear.
This wine pairs perfectly with raw fish and fresh fruit, with fish appetizers and soft cheeses. It is also a refined aperitif. Winemaker Description.
Honig Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2023 750ml
Winemaker Description
Honeysuckle and stone fruit aromas and flavors flow into a perfectly round mid-palate, followed by bright citrus reminiscent of lime and ruby grapefruit. A layered and delicious Sauvignon Blanc in the classic Honig style, easily enjoyed on its own or with lighter seasonal fare.
Vigneti Del Sole Pinot Grigio delle Venezie 2023 1.5L MAGNUM
Vigneti del Sole Pinot Grigio is a white wine gem from the Veneto region of northeast Italy. We have not found a better Pinot Grigio for the money than Vigneti del Sole! This wine is a pale yellow-green in color. It is a lighter-style Pinot Grigio with plenty of fruit and acidity for a well-balanced wine.
This popular Italian white has crisp acidity and a nose of lemons, green apples and almonds. With no oak, the wine shows the best of the Pinot Grigio varietal flavors.
The wine is well balanced with a fresh, clean finish. Enjoy Vigneti del Sole Pinot Grigio with filet of sole, crab salad, grilled chicken, pasta and mild cheeses.
Gerard Bertrand Castellum Sauvignon Blanc 2022 750ml
Our Professional Review
David of 67Wine.com | A wonderful substitute to a California or a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. This wine exhibits substantial body. In fact, the opposite of a typical New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Great balance. Perfect for light chicken and salad.
Winemaker Description
Fresh and crisp Sauvignon with plenty of fresh lemons, herbs and flowers. Light to medium body with zesty acidity. Straightforward and refreshing with a succulent, lemony finish. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink now.
Arnaldo Caprai Sagrantino di Montefalco Collepiano 2018 750ml
Aromas of blackberry jam, pepper, clove, and vanilla. Powerful yet elegant; bold tannins hint at the ability for long aging.
Try with roasted meat, preferably one with a bit of fat content, game and beef stew.
Critic Review
Robert Parker | The 2018 Montefalco Sagrantino Collepiano shows that special Caprai touch that evokes softness and texture without going overboard. Striking that balance is incredibly difficult with a grape like Sagrantino that comes bursting out of the gate with power and often astringency. This wine is alive and fruity with a 15.5% alcohol content that is woven into its rich mouthfeel. (2018).
PointsJames Suckling | Aromas of violet, red cherry and baked strawberry. Full-bodied with fine tannins. Lots of well-ripened red and black fruit with really nice, spicy complexity. Dark chocolate and espresso come through. Nicely layered. (2018). Points
Martinez Lacuesta Haro Rioja Coleccion Familia Gran Reserva 2011 750ml
92 points James Suckling | This shows earthy character, with notes of cherries, plums, tobacco leaf, leather, cloves and cardamom. Medium-bodied, polished and creamy with a lively fruit component, hints of wet earth, sweet spices and a lingering finish. Drink or hold.
Chateau Thivin Cote de Brouilly 2022 750ml
Winemaker Description
The Côte’s signature minerality is at the forefront, offering crunchy, smoky nuances from the very first sip. Alcohol is low, the Gamay fruit is pure and bright, and aromas of purple flowers and herbs round out its delightful complexity.
Expert Review
93 Points James Suckling | Great blackberry fruit aromas and excellent concentration on the medium-bodied, impeccably balanced palate. Long, complete finish. Needs a bit more time in bottle to give its best, but impressive depth. A blend from this producer's seven parcels in this appellation. From organically grown grapes. Bottled unfiltered. Drinkable now, but best from 2025.
Elvio Cogno Anas-Cetta Nascetta Piedmont Organic 2023 750ml
Robert Parker | A wine like this adds an exciting splash of gold to a wine region that is celebrated for its ruby reds. Always refreshing, the Elvio Cogno 2022 Langhe Nascetta del Comune di Novello Anas-Cëtta offers an exciting change of pace with honeysuckle, white peach, apple and quince. There are salty hints of crushed mineral too. The wine shows medium body and enough textural density to pair with baked fish or white meat.
PointsJeb Dunnuck | Bottled two days ago. the 2022 Nascetta Del Comune Di Novello Anas-Cetta is exuberant with aromas of broth and tropical, herbal, and saline notes. Medium-bodied, with a lovely waxy viscosity, it reveals elements of saline and fresh pineapple, without feeling bloated or heavy. It has an Alpine sensibility, with a light bitter almond note on the finish as well as lime blossom and citrus. This fresh white would work over a broad spectrum of food pairings and could be a sommelier’s secret weapon.
James Suckling | Aromas of fresh savory herbs, white flowers, lemon peel and sliced pears. Medium-bodied, vibrant and toned on the palate with crunchy acidity and a zesty, slightly phenolic edge to the finish.
PointsWinemaker Description
The 2022 Anas-Cëtta Nascetta di Novello expresses a remarkable complexity even in its most youthful phase: notes of fresh fruit and lovely aromas of grapefruit, cedar, and ginger are tied to intense aromas of white flowers, Mediterranean herbs and delicate mineral hints. Despite the warm and dry vintage, the palate shows unexpected crispness, which results in a sharp and dynamic wine, destined to evolve masterfully with the passing of time in the bottle. Winemaker Description.

Trediberri Barolo Berri 2020 750ml
Winemaker Description
Barolo Berri comes from a vineyard at the extreme west border of the Barolo area, with an altitude between 370 and 430 mts asl (1200 -1400 ft). Our Barolo Berri doesn’t want to stand out for complexity or longevity, but for drinkability and immediacy, due to its inner fruit profile, sweet ripeness and freshness. Like any Barolo, it is certainly suitable for long ageing but, in our opinion, this wine can be consumed right after the release with extreme pleasure.
Vinous | Nicola and Stefania Oberto may very well put Berri on the map with their 2020 Barolo Berri. What a wine. Deep, soaring and wonderfully expressive, the 2020 is stunning in its beauty. Dark red/purplish fruit, orange peel, cinnamon, rose petal and lavender are all amplified in a vertical, soaring Barolo of magnificent intensity. Silky, polished tannins round things out in style. The 2020 is pure and sensual to the core - a total pleasure bomb. (2020).
Jeb Dunnuck | There is already a wonderful balance in the 2020 Barolo Berri, with both vertical drive and rounded fruits, including red berries and spiced red plums. It has ripe tannins and a generous feel, with a spine of fresh acidity raising it to another level. Drink 2026-2040.
James Suckling | Fresh and brambly nose with red berries, white pepper, stones and hibiscus. Medium body on the palate with tight, chalky tannins and an elegant, firm finish. Drink or hold. (2020).
Pian dell'Orino Rosso di Montalcino Organic 2019 750ml
Expert Ratings - Vintage 2019
Jeb Dunnuck 94 Points | The 2019 Rosso Di Montalcino is ripe but energetic, with pure red cherry, rose petal, orange peel, and white pepper. It is medium-bodied, with elegant ripe raspberry with a graceful feel. Seamless, with fine tannins, it is supple and soft in its texture and raises the bar in a big way for the category. 6,700 bottles were produced.
Vinous 93 Points | An unbelievably pretty blend of dusty rose, cherry and sage wafts up from the 2019 Rosso di Montalcino. It’s strikingly beautiful and graceful within, silky yet cool-toned, mixing saline-tinged minerals with ripe red fruits and floral nuances that resonate throughout. The 2019 finishes structured yet potent and long, leaving lingering dried cherry and licorice notes. Cellaring will be required, but with that said, this is a Rosso of astonishing depth and complexity.
Winemaker Description
The Pian dell Orino estate is adjacent to the Biondi Santi property. This area has a long history of being particularly suited for growing grapes for high quality wines. Husband and wife team Caroline and Jan's love for Tuscany and passion for viticulture binds them particularly to this land, their vines and the resulting wines.
The wines are produced from four different vineyards that have a total area of 6 hectares. From the beginning they studied the soil and the structure of each vineyard in order to fully understand its characteristics. Fossils, petrified shells and chalk sediment all testify to the earth’s evolutions and recount marine flooding and periods of drought in the area.

Domaine Marc Colin Chassagne Montrachet Margot 2021 750ml
Expert Reviews
89-92 points Jasper Morris | Fresh pale lemon. The bouquet has a little more refinement than the St-Aubin, offering apple, fennel and citrus notes. Clean, lean and pure on the nose, extremely refreshing. While there is little reduction on the nose, the finish has a lively mineral limestone feeling. Drink from 2025-2028.
88-90 points Burghound | Bright and fresh aromas of resin, petrol and lemon zest introduce slightly bigger and richer though less mineral-driven flavors that are at once generous but reasonably precise on the lingering and agreeably dry finale. This relatively forward effort could use better depth so I would suggest holding it for a few years first.
88-90 points Wine Advocate | The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Cuvée Margot reveals aromas of peach, freshly baked bread, oatmeal and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, ample palate with a fleshy core of fruit, lively acids and a slightly lactic finish.

Beckmen Vineyards Cuvee Le Bec Red Blend Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Counoise 2021 750ml
Jeb Dunnuck writes 91 Points | I always love this cuvée from Beckmen, and the 2021 Cuvee Le Bec shines for its juicy, up-front, delicious style. A blend of 50% Syrah, 38% Grenache, and the rest Mourvèdre and Counoise, it offers lots of plump blackberry fruit, some peppery herbs, violet nuances, medium body, and a juicy, clean, lengthy finish. An outstanding wine, it will stand toe to toe with the finest Côtes du Rhône out there.
Antonio Galloni of VInous writes 91 Points | The 2021 Cuvée Le Bec is a very beautiful entry-level offering from Steve Beckmen. The cooler style of the year comes through in the wine's aromatic presence and lighter personality vis-à-vis most years. Dark red cherry, plum, wild flowers, spice and dried herbs all run through this Syrah-based blend.
