Felsina Berardenga Chianti Classico 2022 750ml
Fèlsina Berardenga Chianti Classico — Tuscany 2022
Fèlsina is the benchmark estate of Castelnuovo Berardenga, the sun-drenched southeastern corner of Chianti Classico where the zone spills toward Siena. The 2022 Berardenga is immediate and effusive — a wine that wears its terroir openly: Maritime pine, Mediterranean scrub, wild broom, and ripe strawberry, all framed by the estate's signature rocky minerality. Antonio Galloni called it "an archetype of Castelnuovo Berardenga" and awarded it 91 points. At $29.99, it is one of the most compelling values in Chianti Classico.
The nose is bright and expressive: black cherry, wild berries, leather, warm spice, tobacco, and dried herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with fine tannins, juicy berry fruit, and a lift of spice that carries through to a long, tactile finish. Balanced, vibrant, and built to drink beautifully now through 2033.
Expert Reviews
Vinous 91 — Antonio Galloni writes: "Superb. Rich and deep yet also quite translucent, the 2022 is an archetype of Castelnuovo Berardenga. Black cherry, leather, spice, tobacco, menthol and dried herbs inform this potent, super-classic Chianti Classico. This is beautifully done, especially for the year. Drinking 2024–2037."
James Suckling 92 — "A well-balanced, seductive and lively red with aromas of forest berries, red currants, warm herbs and some crushed peppercorns. It's medium-bodied with fine tannins. Juicy berry character with a lift of spices bringing energy and vitality on the palate and onto the tactile finish. Drink now."
Wine Spectator 90 — Bruce Sanderson writes: "Walking the line between cherry and berry flavors and earth and iron notes, this red is bright and juicy midpalate, firming up on the long finish. Balanced overall, needing a year to knit together. Best from 2026 through 2033."
Decanter 91 — Michaela Morris writes: "At the southeastern end of Chianti Classico, the Fèlsina property spills into the Chianti Colli Senesi zone where, on a clear day you can see all the way to Siena, just 15km away. Harnessing its sunbathed setting, the 2022 is immediate and effusive in its charms. It evokes Maritime pine, scrubby Mediterranean brush and wild yellow broom, building in concentration as it glides fluently across the palate, where rocky minerals meet ripe strawberry. Vibrant, if a bit brisk to finish. Drinking 2024 to 2029."

Melini Chianti Borghi d'Elsa 2024 750ml
Melini Chianti Borghi d'Elsa — Chianti DOCG, Tuscany 2024
Melini is one of Tuscany's oldest and most historic wine estates — founded in 1705 in Gaggiano, in the heart of the Chianti zone, and a pioneer in the development of the fiasco bottle that made Chianti famous around the world. Today, Melini farms select vineyard sites along the south-facing slopes of the Elsa River valley, where well-exposed hillsides reach elevations of over 1,200 feet. These high-altitude sites, with their excellent sun exposure and cooling elevation, are ideal for Sangiovese — producing wines of genuine fragrance, elegance, and typicity. Borghi d'Elsa is the estate's classic Chianti expression: a traditional blend led by Sangiovese, crafted to deliver the authentic character of the appellation at an exceptional everyday price.
The nose is intense, fragrant, and elegant: blackberries and raspberries intertwined with violet and Florentine iris — the hallmark floral lift of high-altitude Tuscan Sangiovese. On the palate, it is dry, full, and harmonious with a slightly tannic structure and an elegant aftertaste of toasted almond and fruits of the forest. Clean, food-friendly, and quintessentially Chianti.

Torrebruna Sangiovese Tuscany 2020 750ml
Torrebruna · Sangiovese · IGT Toscana · Tuscany · Italy · 2020
Torrebruna is one of Tuscany’s most reliable over-achievers at the value end of the spectrum — a Sangiovese-based IGT Toscana that consistently punches well above its price point. Where many wines in this tier can be thin or overly acidic, Torrebruna delivers a riper, more robust profile: opaque in the glass, generous on the nose, and built with the kind of fruit-forward character that appeals equally to traditional Italian wine lovers and those who enjoy a more California-influenced style. The 2020 Tuscan vintage was exceptional — warm and dry, producing wines of deep concentration and ripe tannins.
The 2020 pours opaque with a red berry rim. The nose opens with cherry, dark fruits, and vanilla. On the palate, silky tannins frame flavors of dried strawberry, plum, violet, and red cherry — robust and balanced, with a finish that lingers with warmth and fruit. A weeknight Tuscan red that over-delivers at every pour.

One of Tuscany's most celebrated organic estates, Fontodi Chianti Classico Organic 2020 is a benchmark expression of 100% Sangiovese from the heart of Panzano's legendary Conca d'Oro — the "Golden Shell" — a privileged south-facing amphitheater of vineyards in the Chianti Classico DOCG. Certified organic, structured, and deeply terroir-driven, this is Chianti Classico at its most authentic and compelling.
Fontodi & the Conca d'Oro
Fontodi has been certified organic for decades, farming 100% Sangiovese with an unwavering commitment to terroir expression and minimal intervention. Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Organic 2020 750ml
Castello di Bossi | Chianti Classico Gran Selezione | Organic | 2020
Gran Selezione is the apex of the Chianti Classico pyramid — a single-vineyard or best-barrel selection aged a minimum of 30 months before release. Castello di Bossi's 2020 version is a textbook example of why this category matters. Sourced from the estate's southern Gaiole in Chianti holdings and certified organic, it spent 24 months in large 40–50HL casks — a deliberate choice that preserves Sangiovese's aromatic lift while building structure without over-oaking. The 2020 vintage delivered warm, even ripening across Tuscany, and Bossi channeled that richness into a wine of explosive intensity and remarkable finesse. Deep ruby with garnet lights, it opens with black cherry, plum, cedar, sweet spice, dark chocolate, and a whisper of saddle leather. The palate is fleshy and dense, yet balanced, with a very pronounced, lingering finish. Drink now with confidence, or cellar through 2034.

Marchese Antinori Tignanello Toscana 2022 750ml
The Icon of Super Tuscans — Tignanello at Its Finest
Few wines in the world carry the legacy and prestige of Tignanello. Created by Marchese Antinori in 1971, it was the wine that rewrote the rules of Italian winemaking — the first Sangiovese-based wine to be aged in small French oak barriques, and the first to blend Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The 2022 vintage is a stunning expression of this storied wine: concentrated and velvety, yet precise and energetic, with the hallmark Tignanello tension that rewards both immediate pleasure and long cellaring.
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
- Wine Advocate — 97 pts: "Rich and fruit-forward, the 2022 Tignanello very much respects the vintage. It delivers extra fruit weight with a velvety, satiny feel over a generous mouthfeel. Blackcurrant and cherry, with a mineral note that keeps things focused. A beautiful expression of the vintage, with excellent work done to execute soft tannins, texture and length."
- James Suckling — 96 pts: "There's extraordinary energy in this wine. A dark nose of black cherries, bramble fruit, violets, forest, licorice, bark, carob and leather. Density and tension dominate the full-bodied palate, with firm, velvety tannins. Crunchy and full of potential."
- Vinous — 95 pts: "Such an elegant, poised wine. Brisk acids cut through a core of red Sangiovese fruit. Crushed flowers, mint, cinnamon, rose petal and a kiss of French oak appear later, adding notable brightness. All the elements are very nicely balanced throughout."
- Decanter — 95 pts: "Succulent palate of good intensity. Well balanced and bright, with cashmere tannins supporting a core of sapid hedgerow berries outlined by crushed rock minerality and bitter herbs."
- Wine Spectator — 94 pts: "Rich texture wraps around plum, cherry, graphite, tobacco and earth flavors, with a line of dusty tannins underneath. Fresh, elegant and long. Best from 2027 through 2040."

Badia a Coltibuono Chianti Classico RISERVA Organic 2020 750ml
Producer Notes
The Chianti Classico Riserva is central to Badia a Coltibuono’s vision and its deep relationship with place and history. Using the traditional blend of Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo, and Ciliegiolo — propagated by massal selection — has always been the backbone of the wine. Modern techniques such as gravity vinification bring forth the best expression of the fruit, while traditional approaches — indigenous yeast fermentation and aging in oak casks rather than barriques — are central to its authenticity. The winery’s long-established certified organic practices are fundamental to the truly unique character of the grapes.

Isole e Olena Cepparello Toscana 2020 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2020
Antonio Galloni writes: The 2020 Cepparello is a total stunner, just as it was last year. Deeply colored, layered and explosive in the glass, the 2020 possesses striking textural richness and overall intensity. Black cherry, graphite, plum, spice and lavender flesh out effortlessly. There's tremendous pedigree and sheer stature here. Cepparello is surely one of the wines of the year. Drinking 2027 to 2045. - Vinous 98
The Wine Advocate, Monica Larner, 96 Points | Supple and smooth, the 2020 Cepparello brings Sangiovese to soaring heights in a manner only Paolo De Marchi can manage. This is his second to last vintage before he would retire and sell this historic estate. The wine opens to medium to full-bodied concentration with dark plum and redcurrant. Those cede to sweet spice, earth, crushed stone, rusty nail and candied orange peel. Give the wine more time to flesh out with cellar age.
The Wine Spectator 96 Points | Expressive and sumptuous from the get-go, this red features cherry, strawberry, rose, orange peel, mineral and Tuscan herb aromas and flavors. Sangiovese. Best from 2025 through 2045.
James Suckling 94 Points | Attractive red and dark berries with dried flowers, nutmeg and cocoa powder. Dried orange peel and wet earth, too. Medium- to full-bodied, toned and steady with fine-grained tannins that are slightly chalky. Polished and even with a lingering finish. Try after 2026.
Querciabella Chianti Classico Organic Biodynamic 2020 750ml
Expert Reviews
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Points | The 2020 Chianti Classico is impressive and pure, with ripe black cherry, a hint of blue fruit, violets, and sweet herbs. It is medium to full-bodied, with supple fruit throughout, fine grained tannins, and a polished feel. It displays fresh acidity without any harsh edges, but it is mouthwatering and compels returning for more. This beautiful wine from Querciabella is drinking well now, and I imagine will continue to improve over the coming decade or more. (2020).
James Suckling 93 Points | Pure fruit on the nose, with rose hips, cherries, blueberries, lemon leaves and dried flowers. Medium-bodied with tangy acidity and firm tannins. Vibrant and elegant, with such purity of fruit. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold. (2020).
Decanter 92 Points | With an annual production of approximately 150,000 bottles, this is Querciabella’s calling card – and an impressive one at that. It also gives an incisive panoramic shot of the Chianti Classico region as it's a blend of estate vineyards in three different subzones. Bright and fresh, the 2020 annata emerges energetically out of the glass with exuberant and pure red cherry and currants. It gains intrigue with stylish touches of mocha, tarragon and truffles. It's full and vigorous yet light on its feet thanks to radiant acidity, while well-formed tannins lend just the right amount of chew. As suave as it is characterful. (2020).

Tenute Silvio Nardi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2021 750ml
Tenute Silvio Nardi is one of Montalcino's most established estates, farming two historic properties — Manachiara and Casale del Bosco — whose finest grapes are blended to produce the classic Brunello. The estate follows the strict DOCG laws of Brunello di Montalcino with rigorous discipline: yields are limited, only the top 70% of hand-harvested fruit is selected, and the wine is aged in two types of oak before extended bottle aging prior to release. It is a Brunello built for the long haul, reflecting the full weight of Montalcino's winemaking tradition.
The Tenute Silvio Nardi Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2021 750ml is 100% Sangiovese Grosso from the warm and generous 2021 vintage. It opens with red cherries, wild berries, spices, tobacco leaves, and crushed rocks on the nose. On the palate it is broad and muscular, with black cherry, blackberry, plum, and blueberry flavors accented by iron and menthol, compact lightly chewy tannins, and a vibrant line of acidity that keeps the wine lively and detailed through a persistent mineral finish. Patience is required — best from 2028 through 2043.

Argiano Rosso di Montalcino 2024 750ml
Argiano Rosso di Montalcino 2024
Argiano is one of Montalcino's most storied and prestigious estates, its roots intertwined with the very history of the appellation. Perched atop a plateau at approximately 350 meters above sea level on the southwestern slope of Montalcino, the estate sits on ancient calcareous marl soils formed some 25 million years ago — a geological legacy that imparts remarkable minerality and aging potential to its wines. Today, guided by a passionate team, Argiano blends deep traditional knowledge with a forward-looking commitment to identity, innovation, and sustainability.
The Rosso di Montalcino is Argiano's entry point into the world of Brunello — and a compelling one at that. Sourced from the estate's younger Sangiovese vines and select plots, it offers the hallmark character of the appellation in a more approachable, earlier-drinking style. The 2024 vintage showcases the energy and freshness that define great Rosso: vibrant acidity, crunchy red fruit, and the mineral backbone that only Montalcino's marl-rich soils can deliver.
Bright ruby in the glass, the wine opens with pristine aromas of red cherries, red currants, minty herbs, and fragrant violets, with nuances of wet stone and blackberry. On the palate, it is round and soothing with crisp, brilliant acidity, chewy tannins, and a crunchy, energetic style. The finish is long, with a subtle black fruit saturation and a sense of effortless vitality.

Le Difese is the second wine of Sassicaia — and that pedigree means everything. Tenuta San Guido is the legendary Bolgheri estate that created the Super Tuscan category, producing one of Italy’s most celebrated wines in Sassicaia. Le Difese is crafted from the estate’s younger vines using the same philosophy and the same winemaking team: fermentation on the skins in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by 8 months of maturation in French and American oak barrels. The 2024 vintage was exceptional — early, uniform budbreak, ideal flowering and fruit set, warm July with early veraison, and cool nights through August ensuring perfect phenolic and technical ripeness. James Suckling awarded it 92 points. At under $57, it is one of the most compelling values in all of Tuscan wine.

San Felice Rosso Toscana 2023 750ml
San Felice — Rosso Toscana IGT 2023
San Felice is one of Chianti Classico's most storied estates — a historic borgo in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the southern reaches of the zone, with vineyards that have been producing wine for centuries. The estate is also home to one of Italy's most important ampelographic collections, preserving rare and ancient Tuscan grape varieties. The Rosso Toscana is their everyday expression: a wine built for the table, not the cellar, blending Sangiovese with complementary indigenous varieties to deliver the kind of honest, food-friendly red that Tuscany does better than anywhere.
The 2023 shows a young, rich ruby in the glass. The nose is refreshing and inviting — raspberry, cherry, and lavender — with a harmonious, easy-drinking palate that is fruit-forward without being simple. In 1989, Keith Haring traveled to Pisa to paint his iconic "Tuttomondo" mural — a monumental work that would become one of his last. It is a collector's bottle in the truest sense: a 92-point Tuscan red wrapped in a piece of art history. The wine itself is a Sangiovese-led blend from the Toscana IGT, vinified to express the richness and depth of a warm, generous vintage. James Suckling awarded it 92 points.
