E. Guigal Cotes du Rhone ROUGE 2022 750ml
E. Guigal · Côtes du Rhône Rouge · Southern Rhône · France · 2022 · 750ml
E. Guigal is the most celebrated name in the Rhône Valley — a family estate founded in Ampuis in 1946 by Etienne Guigal and now run by his son Marcel, whose obsessive commitment to quality has made Guigal synonymous with the finest expressions of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre from Hermitage to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The Côtes du Rhône Rouge is Guigal’s benchmark entry-level wine: a blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, and 10% Mourvèdre, partially aged in large oak foudres, and crafted to deliver genuine Rhône character at an honest price. The 2022 vintage was the hottest and driest growing season since 1950 — intense heatwaves followed by mid-August rainfall that promoted ripening and yielded concentrated, full-bodied wines of exceptional richness and depth. Jeb Dunnuck called it “smoking good.” At $18.99, this is one of the most compelling values in French red wine.
Deep ruby in the glass with an intensely aromatic nose of blackberry, black plum, pepper, garrigue, and a whisper of cocoa — generous, expressive, and unmistakably southern Rhône. On the palate: full-bodied and round, with lush dark fruit, velvety tannins, and a long, elegant finish that shows real finesse beyond the abundance of fruit. Three critics, three 90+ scores: Jeb Dunnuck 91, Wine Enthusiast 91, Wine Advocate 90. Drink now through 2028. Pair with charcuterie, braised lamb, beef stew, roast chicken, or a simple cheese board.

Saint Cosme Cotes du Rhone 2024 750ml
Côtes du Rhône Syrah from One of the Southern Rhône’s Most Historic Estates

Winemaker Description
Ruby red, nicely bright. Fresh cherry and blackberry on the nose with notes of cracked pepper. Dark berry and touches of anise on the palate, with sweet cherries and raspberry. The quality of winemaking is evident — a Parisian brasserie favorite.
Domaine Pélaquié is a family-run estate with a long history; the estate has been passed down father to son for generations, cultivating the same land all the way back to the 16th century! The current son in charge, Luc Pélaquié, has modernized the winery, all the while protecting the traditions of his ancestors. He practices sustainable viticulture, certified by HVE, on his 100 hectares of vines located in the Côtes-du-Rhône, Laudun, Tavel, and Lirac.
The terroir of Laudun wines distinguishes them from other southern Rhône appellations. The wines from this side of the river typically have higher acidity, with soils made lighter by sand mixed with clay and limestone. This contributes a floral elegance to the wines that is quite unusual in the region. The sandy soils and cooler microclimate are also extremely important for the cultivation of the Syrah and Viognier varieties which produce their finest wines in the cooler regions of the northern Rhône (50-70 miles to the north) in sandy, clay soils.

About Le Vieux Donjon
Le Vieux Donjon is one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s most celebrated and consistent family estates, owned and farmed by the Michel family for generations. Farming organically on the iconic galets roulés — the large rounded stones that retain heat and reflect sunlight onto the vines — Le Vieux Donjon produces Grenache-dominant blends of extraordinary depth, complexity, and age-worthiness. The estate is widely regarded as a benchmark Châteauneuf-du-Pape producer, consistently earning top scores from the world’s leading critics vintage after vintage.

Winemaker Description
In France’s Northern Rhône Valley, few names are as revered as Graillot. With each passing year, his devotion to making hauntingly delicious Syrah from organically farmed, stone-laden vineyards earned him a devoted global following. Alain’s sons Maxime and Antoine have been in charge since 2008, continuing the legacy unchanged: hand-harvesting, organic farming, 100% whole-cluster fermentation, and aging primarily in 1-to-3 year old barrels sourced from top Burgundy estates.

Château de Manissy Tête de Cuvée Tavel Rosé Organic 2024 750ml
Château de Manissy Tête de Cuvée — Tavel, Rhône Valley 2024
The Tête de Cuvée has been Château de Manissy’s flagship bottling since the estate’s very first vintage in 1915 — and nothing has changed, including the label. Made from a biodynamic blend of Grenache, Clairette, and Cinsault sourced from the Tavel appellation in the southern Rhône, this is a rosé built for the table rather than the pool. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, aged nine to twelve months in old 25-hectoliter foudres, and bottled with minimal intervention, it is one of the rare rosés with genuine structure and aging potential. Decanter awarded it 92 points. View From The Cellar 92. Organic. This is Tavel as it has always been — serious, complex, and built to last.
The bouquet is beautifully refined: rhubarb, watermelon, blood orange, dried rose petals, gentle savory notes, and a lovely base of soil tones with a touch of orange peel in the upper register. On the palate, the wine is deep, pure, and full-bodied with lovely acids, excellent focus and grip, a succulent core of red currant and cherry, and a long, complex, impeccably balanced finish. Rich and structured — a Tavel that will age impressively and pair with just about anything.

Mas de Boislauzon Chateauneuf-du-Pape Tradition Organic 2020 750ml
Châteauneuf-du-Pape That Delivers Classic Southern Rhône Power and Elegance
Mas de Boislauzon has long been one of the most respected estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, farming organically and crafting wines that honor the appellation's storied tradition. Their Tradition Cuvée — a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre, fermented and aged in concrete — is a benchmark expression of the southern Rhône: rich, structured, and deeply aromatic, with the kind of complexity that rewards both immediate enjoyment and extended cellaring.
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2020
- Wine Spectator — 94 pts: "Plum sauce and cassis reveal earthy, leafy dimension that brings savory freshness to this full-throttle red, which is formidable in structure and frame, with bolts of iron, black tea and persistent yet refined tannins taking this over the finish line. Long and powerful, with smokiness weaving through. Drink now through 2035."
- Jeb Dunnuck — 93 pts: "One of the riper, broader, sexier wines in the vintage. Blackberries, roasted herbs, cured meats, chocolate, and Provençal garrigue all define the aromatics, and it's full-bodied on the palate, with a powerful yet balanced style. Classic cuvées don't get much better than this in 2020. Drink 2022–2037."

Domaine de Beaurenard Côtes du Rhône — Southern Rhône, France 2024
Domaine de Beaurenard is one of the Southern Rhône’s most respected family estates — a Chateauneuf-du-Pape producer of genuine pedigree that has farmed organically and biodynamically for decades, long before it was fashionable. Their Côtes du Rhône is the estate’s most approachable expression: a Grenache and Syrah blend that delivers the freshness, juicy red fruit, and delicate floral character of the Southern Rhône at its most joyful. Certified organic and biodynamic, it is a wine made with real conviction — and it shows in every glass. Wine Enthusiast awarded the 2024 vintage 90 points, calling it “sure to impress friends.”

On the palate, refreshing acidity keeps everything lively and delicious, enhancing a salty minerality that adds juiciness to the lavish black fruit. Medium-bodied, smooth, and immediately pleasurable — with enough structure to work beautifully at the table.

67Wine Buyer’s Note
We first discovered this Côtes du Rhône at one of our favorite local restaurants, Manny’s Bistro — where the Magret de Canard and the moules Provençal are both essential. This medium-bodied Rhône is fruit-forward without being overwhelmed by fruit, and its balanced acidity makes it equally at home with duck and mussels. It is simply quaffable — the kind of bottle you finish before you realize it.

Vinous 91 Points | The 2024 Tavel Rosé displays its usual reddish shade and all of its typical power and intensity. Domaine de Beaurenard Rasteau Organic Biodynamic 2022 750ml
Domaine de Beaurenard · Rasteau · Grenache, Syrah & Mourvèdre · Rhône Valley · 2022
For eight generations, the Coulon family has farmed the southern Rhône with a reverence for the land that few estates can match. Domaine de Beaurenard has been certified organic and biodynamic since 2011 — across more than 80 acres in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 60 acres in Rasteau, and 25 acres in Côtes du Rhône. Their Rasteau is a benchmark expression of this rising appellation: 100% estate-grown Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, co-harvested and co-fermented from south-facing slopes and terraces of stony limestone-clay soils, yielding just 25–38 hl/ha. 2022 was a warm, dry year with late-season rains that restored balance — the result is a wine of beautiful fruity, bright character with real depth and persistence. JS:92 · JD:91 · WS:90. At $37.99, this is biodynamic Rhône at a price that makes it one of the cellar’s great values.

Fine, firm tannins and a lively, persistent finish with herbs, peppercorns, and a smoky incense note. Drink now through 2034.

Domaine Gour de Chaule Gigondas ".7 Le Gour" 100% Grenache 2022 750ml
Gigondas Redefined — Pure Grenache Mastery from Gour de Chaule
Domaine Gour de Chaule is one of Gigondas's most exciting estates, and Le Gour is their most singular expression: a 100% Grenache from 80-year-old vines that challenges everything you think you know about southern Rhône reds. Where most Gigondas leans into power and density, Le Gour goes the other direction — floral, transparent, and ethereal, with a silky precision that is closer to great Burgundy than to the typical Grenache archetype. The 2022 vintage is a stunning achievement, earning some of the highest scores ever given to this appellation.
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
- James Suckling — 97 pts: "A superb wine made exclusively from Grenache from 80-year-old vines, silky and ethereal. The nose is seductive, with crushed wild strawberries, bitter oranges, roses and some peppercorns. Medium-bodied with finely grained tannins. Such finesse of texture, with a silky core of bright, transparent and succulent berries. Tension and vibrancy with an infused character. Intense while being restrained and always in control. Long finish. Drink or hold."
- Vinous (Nicolas Greinacher) — 93-95 pts: "The captivating Grenache-only 2022 Gigondas Le Gour is sexy and layered. Pronounced rose petal, crushed violet, orange blossom, quince and raspberry aromas rise up from the glass. The floral lift is just stunning. Despite its medium to full body, this athletic 2022 red offers a seamless mouthfeel and is wonderfully light on its feet. Drinking 2025 to 2032."

Winemaker Description

Expert Review
The Wine Advocate by Stuart Pigott writes 94 Points | A very refined and delicate Cote-Rotie with wonderful floral complexity. Graceful palate that feels almost weightless. Lovely mineral freshness carries the medium-bodied palate through to the very long.
Jeb Dunnuck 90 Points | Coming from a handful of terroirs, the 2021 Côte Rôtie is clearly outstanding. Black raspberries, peppery herbs, spring flowers, and bacon fat notes all give way to a medium-bodied, elegant 2021 that has juicy, integrated acidity and a great finish. Drink bottles over the coming decade. While Gigondas’s Louis Barruol is well known for his reference point Gigondas releases, his terrific Northern Rhône releases are, unfortunately, less well known. As with his Southern Rhônes, Louis likes lots of stems and used barrels, and these wines all have classic profiles.

Anne Pichon Sauvage Grenache Noir Vieilles Vignes Organic 2023 750ml
Anne Pichon “Sauvage” Grenache Noir Vieilles Vignes — Vaucluse, Southern Rhône 2023
At the foot of Mont Ventoux, where the limestone soils are stony and the summer sun is relentless, Anne Pichon farms old-vine Grenache Noir the way it was always meant to be farmed — organically, patiently, and with deep respect for the vine. The “Sauvage” Vieilles Vignes is their flagship red: a late-harvested cuvée from old vines that delivers the kind of concentration and hedonistic power that makes Grenache lovers stop and pay attention. Ecocert Certified Organic. At $18.99, it is one of the great overachievers of the Southern Rhône.
The 2023 vintage is dense, ripe, and immediately seductive. The nose opens with black cherry, blackberry, and blackcurrant — dark fruit piled high — followed by layers of cocoa, sweet chocolate, and licorice that add complexity and depth. On the palate it is full-bodied and concentrated, with plush texture, ripe tannins, and a long, warming finish. This is a Grenache Bomb in the best possible sense: powerful, generous, and built for the table.

Domaine Chante Cigale Châteauneuf Du Pape 2023 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2023
The Wine Advocate 89 Points | Partially destemmed and matured in a mix of foudres, large barrels and concrete tanks (80%), the 2023 Chateauneuf du Pape is somewhat shy and introverted at this stage, opening with aromas of dark berries and licorice. Medium- to full-bodied, round and sappy, it shows a sweet, juicy core of fruit tapering into a finish that is slightly marked by bitterness.
Memo Summary Notes
-
This estate continues to work its way up the hierarchy in Châteauneuf du Pape and today are fashioning some of the most exciting wines in the appellation.”
—Jeb Dunnuck
As at many family domaines with deep roots in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, vigneron Alexandre Favier was by his own account “raised in the vineyards”: Alexandre’s grandfather, Noël Sabon, is from one of the best known winemaking families in the region. Alexandre himself began his viticultural studies in Orange at the age of fifteen and passed the exams four years later in 2001. A year later (at age twenty!) he took over winemaking duties at the domaine when his father experienced health problems.
This is a traditional house with 40 hectares of red grapes and 5 hectares of white. They have parcels in all of the main soil types of Châteauneuf and they vinify the top parcels separately. Only native yeasts are employed in the cellar, and the reds are mostly de-stemmed.
Memo Summary Notes Extended
Food Match: This wine excels with herb-crusted roast lamb, wild mushroom risotto, or a hearty lentil moussaka.
Domaine des Pasquiers Gigondas 2023 750ml
Experience the Essence of Pasquiers Estate in Gigondas 2023
Expert Review - Vintage 2023
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Points | “Framboise, wild strawberries, pepper, and sappy flower and spice notes all shine in the 2023 Gigondas, a remarkable pure, graceful, seamless Gigondas that does everything right. A blend of equal parts Grenache and Syrah, it will cruise over the coming decade or more. The blend is equal parts Grenache and Syrah, destemmed and brought up all in concrete. I’d be happy with bottles in the cellar.”
Winemaker Notes
Transcribe without betraying.
Translating the richness of the terroir, leaving the vine to mature, favouring the expression of the fruit so that the magnificence of this land is revealed in the glass. Reproducing again and again the same gestures to achieve balance.
For each of our wines, we seek finesse and elegance while respecting the appellation.
It is in this perpetual quest that our estate has been working its wines since 1935.
On the land of Gigondas, the soil, combination of the Secondary to the Quaternary Periods, produces this unique and exceptional terroir of the Rhône Valley.
The barrier of the Dentelles de Montmirail brings freshness to the vines and the berries can reach an optimal maturity.
The clay soils are covered with the stony scree that comes down from the Dentelles and thus bring minerality to the wines.
Memo Summary Notes
The Domaine des Pasquiers Gigondas 2023 is a powerful red blend from the Southern Rhône Valley. Known for its concentration and "garrigue" (wild herb) character, the 2023 vintage has received high praise from critics for its purity and seamless texture.
The intensity and herbal notes of this Gigondas make it a "meat lover's wine":
-
Primary: Roasted lamb with rosemary or a classic beef stew (Daube Provençale).
-
Game: Venison or wild boar sausages.
-
Vegetarian: Portobello mushrooms grilled with garlic and thyme.
-
Cheese: Aged Mimolette or pungent blue cheeses.

E. Guigal Cote-Rotie La Mouline 2013 750ml
Expert Reviews- Vintage 2013
Josh Raynolds of Vinous writes 96 Points | (made with 50 percent whole clusters) Bright purple. A complex, intensely perfumed bouquet of fresh black and blue fruit, candied licorice and Asian spice scents develops a sexy floral note as the wine opens up. Vibrant and appealingly sweet on the palate, offering intense, smoke-tinged black currant, boysenberry, floral pastille and spicecake flavors energized by a refreshing snap of juicy acidity. Blends richness and vivacity with a deft hand and finishes extremely long and gently tannic, leaving a sappy blue fruit note behind. Drinking 2023 - 2032.
James Suckling writes 97 Points | The most brooding nose of the trio of La La's with dark coal smoky aromas and dark stones, graphite and cocoa powder. Fruits are in the very dark plum and blackberry spectrum but flavors are held in a more savory mode with assertive, powerful clean-cut tannins that hold endless length. Truly a masterpiece. Best from 2022 and for two decades or more.
Joe Czerwinski of The Wine Advocate writes 94 Points | The 2013 Cote Rotie La Mouline shows none of the vintage’s sometimes dry tannins. It offers crisp black fruit—plums and blackberries—underscored by hints of pencil shavings, espresso and grilled meat. Suave and long, it should drink well for a couple of decades. Drinking 2020 - 2035.
James Molesworth of the Wine Spectator writes 96 Points | Very ripe, with layers of fig, boysenberry and plum compote forming the core, inlaid liberally with licorice snap, roasted apple wood and Turkish coffee notes. Shows lots of heft, but everything pulls together on the finish, exhibiting drive and definition. Best from 2020 through 2040. 65 cases imported.
Jeb Dunnuck writes 94+ Points | One of the more restrained and fresh vintages of this cuvée out there, the 2013 Côte Rôtie La Mouline still has a classic Mouline floral, gamey, and spicy bouquet to go with medium to full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. With good concentration, notable complexity, sweet tannin, and plenty of length, it needs 3-4 years of bottle age and will keep for 15+. Drinking 2022 - 2037.
Richard Hemming MW of Jancis Robinson writes 18/20 Points | Hickory smoke, violets, tobacco, black-cherry fruit, pepper and a touch of stemmy herbal character. Super-fine tannins, and quite light body with a finish that isn't as expansive as the palate. Still young, so the length may well develop. Drinking 2019 - 2033
Domaine de Beaurenard Chateauneuf-du-Pape Biodynamic 2021 750ml
Explore Beaurenard Estate Chateauneuf-du-Pape Biodynamic 2021
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2021
The Wine Advocate 94 Points | The 2021 Chateauneuf du Pape is just as tasty as the Boisrenard special cuvée this vintage, with very similar notes of black raspberries, black olives and garrigue. Perhaps a bit lighter-bodied (still medium to full-bodied), it's a touch creamy on the mid-palate, then adds hints of dark chocolate on the supple, lingering finish. The assemblage here is less Grenache-heavy (65%), with 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre and small amounts of other permitted varieties. -
James Suckling 93 Points | Here’s a very well structured Chateauneuf for the challenging 2021 vintage with complex wild herb and berry aromas. Only medium-bodied for the appellation, but with healthy tannins and a positive mineral acidity that drives the long clean finish. A cuvee of 50% grenache, 30% syrah, 10% mourvedre and 10% cinsault. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold.
The Wine Spectator 93 Points | A pure, focused style, with generous raspberry ganache and red licorice flavors that are juicy, inviting and well-framed by finely sculpted tannins and graphite shavings. Full-bodied without being heavy, with black pepper, wild herbs and mesquite playing out on the fresh, structured finish. Grenache. Drink now through 2035.
Jeb Dunnuck 92 Points | A beautiful wine, the 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape has a deeper ruby hue to go with Burgundian aromatics of ripe red and black berries, sappy underbrush, exotic flowers, and an undeniable sense of minerality. It's balanced, medium-bodied, has good mid-palate depth, and gorgeously integrated structure that emerges with time in the glass. It's not a powerhouse, but it has a layered, complete, seamless profile that's going to evolve gracefully over the coming 15 years. The classic Cuvée is 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, and the rest a mix of permitted varieties, partially destemmed, and aged in a mix of foudre, tank, and barrels, with a tiny percentage in new oak.

The Wine Spectator 92 Points | Distinctive in a very good way, this chooses savory elegance over power. A refreshing and mineral-driven style, with appealing pepper, spice box and chestnut, all surrounding a core of red currant threaded with a stream of herbs. With warm earth on the seductively textured palate, this shows good energy and harmony through the vibrant finish, marked by iron and smoked meat. Well-done. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault. Drink now through 2032. 2,464 cases imported.
Vinous 92 Points | The 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Télégramme kicks off with crushed violets, ripe raspberry, wild strawberry and a pinch of dried herbs. Leafy gradations add more complexity. Round and elegant, the full-bodied 2022 walks off the stage with persistence on the juicy finish.
Jeb Dunnuck 92 Points | The only wine produced in the vintage due to the devastating tornado just before the harvest, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Télégramme seems to be a mix of a normal Vieux Télégraphe and a Télégramme. Black raspberries, darker cherries, peppery garrigue, and a Grand Vin sense of salty minerality define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, has rock-solid ripeness, plenty of tannins, and outstanding length.
The Wine Advocate 92 Points | A blend of 85% Grenache and the rest of Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre, the 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Télégramme offers up aromas of flowers, dark cherries and dark wild berries, followed by a medium to full-bodied, structured and concentrated palate with velvety tannins and a long, dense finish.
James Suckling 92 Points | An elegant expression of grenache in Chateauneuf, this has a wealth of red berries and summer flowers. The very solid tannins have been expertly crafted, and they build beautifully in the long finish. Considering how the vineyards were hit by hail just before the harvest, this has turned out very well.

The Wine Spectator 95 Points | A perfumed, elegant and complex version, with inviting, high-toned notes of red currant and cherry draped with warm licorice. The palate starts out supple, then solid ballasts of graphite and fine tannins firm everything up for a fresh, focused finish that wafts with smoked sandalwood. Brown bread, cinnamon and nutmeg add complexity, with penetrating mineral depth. Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre.

Jeb Dunnuck 93 Points | A great vintage for this cuvée, the 2022 Gigondas Terrasse Du Diable comes from higher elevation sites and pure limestone soils. (It's mostly Grenache.) Rocking levels of kirsch, ripe cherries, chalky minerality, melted licorice, and white flowers all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a round, layered mouthfeel, and a great finish. It's one hell of a sexy, ripe, impossible-to-resist Gigondas.
