Winemaker Description

Our 2021 Intercept Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of ripe blackberries, red currants, and dried herbs. The wine is full-bodied with flavors of baking spice and plush ripe fruit with a long, fine grained tannin finish. Pair with anything off the BBQ, steaks, braised short ribs, and lamp chops.  

Producer Description 

A modern style emphasizing the softer Pinot Noir-like characteristics of Pinotage. The wine is ruby-garnet red with a hint of purple. This Pinotage shows pleasing aromas of mocha and roasted coffee beans, followed by juicy flavors of red berries, nutmeg and vanilla spice on the palate.

The sweet fruit flavors of this medium-bodied Pinotage make it an ideal match for spicy food, pizza, smoked pork and flavorful venison dishes.

Jeb Dunnuck 91 Points | The 2019 Château Marquis De Terme showed better now than from a bottle tasted earlier this year. Giving up plenty of darker, almost black fruits as well as tobacco, gravelly earth, and spice, it's medium to full-bodied, has a round, fleshy, sexy mouthfeel, quality tannins, and a great finish. Robert Parker 90+ Points | Aromas of rich black fruits, cherry preserve and pencil shavings introduce the 2019 Marquis de Terme, a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy wine with a broad attack that segues into an ample mid-palate framed by ripe but youthfully assertive tannins. This is a muscular, rather chunky Margaux that will reward a bit of bottle age and which, with time, may make my score seem conservative. This is an evolving estate, as fully 25% of its vineyards have been replanted since 2009. Cabernet on rich soils between Labégorce and Château Margaux represents the core of the blend. A Columbia Valley Cabernet crafted to highlight concentrated Washington red fruit in an accessible style. This is an inviting Cab with plenty of complexity and structure with silky tannins.

Winemaker Description

Bright red raspberry, red currant, rhubarb, and violet. Refreshing to the max but bone dry with just a kiss of fine tannin. Just enough of a riper profile behind the bright "ray of sunshine" energetic cut. Candied cherries and red jolly ranchers bring home the deliciousness quotient. A floaty, foamy layer bordering on frothed cappuccino milk marries to the zip and tang.

So Fresh wines include the Love You Bunches lineup & Crunchy Rôastie Syrah. The grapes destined for these wines are natively fermented whole, un-crushed, for a delicately high-toned profile. Harvested early for lighter mouthfeel and higher acidity, wines go to bottle early to capture purity and freshness without added sulfur.

You may say to yourself this is so different in the tradition of a wine from old world France in the bard yard style. Its power immediately comes at you. If you prefer modern style California Zinfandel, then this wine is not for you. If you are an explorer, with a skydiver personality, I highly recommend this wine.

The wine has a dark cherry red color that is very opaque. It has intense and fragrant aromas, with exquisite fruit notes of raspberry jam and spicy hints of green peppercorn. There is also a pleasant note that reminds of toasted bread. On the palate, the wine is warm and has velvety, juicy tannins that are well balanced by the oak aging.

It is medium-bodied, with elegant ripe raspberry with a graceful feel. Seamless, with fine tannins, it is supple and soft in its texture and raises the bar in a big way for the category. 6,700 bottles were produced. 

Vinous 93 Points |  An unbelievably pretty blend of dusty rose, cherry and sage wafts up from the 2019 Rosso di Montalcino. It’s strikingly beautiful and graceful within, silky yet cool-toned, mixing saline-tinged minerals with ripe red fruits and floral nuances that resonate throughout. The 2019 finishes structured yet potent and long, leaving lingering dried cherry and licorice notes. Cellaring will be required, but with that said, this is a Rosso of astonishing depth and complexity.

The Pian dell Orino estate is adjacent to the Biondi Santi property. This area has a long history of being particularly suited for growing grapes for high quality wines. Husband and wife team Caroline and Jan's love for Tuscany and passion for viticulture binds them particularly to this land, their vines and the resulting wines. 

The wines are produced from four different vineyards that have a total area of 6 hectares. From the beginning they studied the soil and the structure of each vineyard in order to fully understand its characteristics. Decanter 91 Points | A lovely vintage for Retromarcia, this smells of place: scents of bergamot and lavender meet fresh herbs and wild red berries. The midweight, buoyant palate is juicy with ripe red cherry and raspberry enfolded in layers of fine, well-structured tannins. A subtle earthiness adds appeal. As with the Sangió, this sees a spontaneous fermentation with native yeast, and is unfiltered and carries low total sulphur (less than 25mg/L). It hails from the estate’s younger vines (less than 20 years old) from varying aspects, elevations and soils. (2021)

The 2020 is a vintage of contrasts, a vine grower's vintage. They harvested the smallest crop in 30 years. The extraordinary freshness in this wine, produced the hottest vintage in modern history, is real proof of the buffer effect of their terroir. The precision of the fruit transpires with lovely notes of black cherry, black currant, and licorice. The tense tannic structure is reminiscent of the great 2010, with a more creamy, smoother mid-palate. A truly classic vintage that will be enjoyable earlier yet maintain a remarkable aging potential. It's a gorgeous, complete Saint-Julien offering remarkable purity in its cassis, violets, chocolate, and leafy tobacco-like aromas and flavors. Bernie says 67Wine.com | This is a terrific wine for those looking for a full bodied, oaky, typical Rioja.  We drank this at Malka on 72 Street, with their famous schnitzel and it was completely enjoyable.

Vinous 92 Points by Antonio Galloni  | The Failla Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is a fabulous wine at this level. Sweet spices, rose petal, mint and succulent cherry/plum notes all lift from the glass. Supple and beautifully layered throughout, the Sonoma Coast hits all the right notes. A final burst of fruit rushes across the palate on the refreshing, inviting wine. There is so much to like.
