Depaula Monastrell 2022 has intense aromas of red and black fruits, with herbal and mineral notes.

Olga Raffault Chinon Les Barnabes ROUGE 2021 750ml
Winemaker Description
100% Cabernet Franc. Les Barnabés stands apart from Raffault's other main sites, Les Picasses and Les Peuilles, still in the Véron region but far to the west and downhill on a plain of alluvial soils near the Loire River.
The sandy, gravelly site yields a lighter style of Cabernet Franc more approachable with less aging compared to the other two. Like Picasses and Peuilles, Barnabés comes from fruit which is organically farmed, harvested by hand, destemmed but not crushed, and fermented in tank with native yeasts. The fermentation is at cooler temperatures and the aging in tank only, all to preserve the freshness and brightness of the fruit. It is the earliest release of the three reds.

O’Shaughnessy Cabernet Sauvignon HOWELL MOUNTAIN 2017 750ml
Expert Ratings
Jeb Dunnuck 96 Points | The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain offers a slightly darker, earthier profile that carries beautiful black and blue fruits, charcoal, bouquet garni, and some obvious minerality as well as a whiff of espresso. It's rich, full-bodied, concentrated, and beautifully done. Drink it over the coming two decades. Based on 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% each of Merlot and Malbec, and the rest a mix of varieties, it spent 21 months in 80% new French oak.
James Suckling 94 Points | This has a very attractive, fresh array of ripe dark-berry and cherry aromas with notes of purple olives, stones and iodine. There are such fine tannins here with a very fluid, concentrated build of pure, fresh dark berries. Impressive. Drink or hold.
Tasting Panel 94 Points | Exceptionally generous and rich, with velvety texture and concentration. Elegant and layered with fine balance and savory style; complex, sophisticated, and long.
Selvagrossa Muschen Rosso Blend Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. Marche 2022 750ml
Expert Review
Bart Hopkins 67Wine.com | Bart as many of you know by now has the great ability to find delicious well made wines from time producers. Selvagrossa a winery in the Marche region of Italy, owned by brothers Alberto and Alessandro Taddei farm just a handful of hectares (think of a hectare as a football field squared) of vineyard in and around the town of Pesaro, a few kilometers from Adriatic. Muschen is their entry level wine and is absolutely a joyous red made of 50% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Franc.
The 2022 “Muschèn” is a blend of those three grape varieties and it is fermented and aged in stainless steel to keep maximum freshness and fruit flavors. Muschèn is the quintessential everyday Italian red, with that classic red fruit on the nose from the Sangiovese, a plushness in the mid-palate from the Merlot, and complex herbs and mineral notes from the Cabernet Franc. Bart thinks you will love his discovery.
Winemaker Description
Muschen translates to ‘firefly’ in the local dialect and is the nickname of winemaker Alberto Taddei, who farms 4 hectares along the Adriatic coast with his brother Alessandro. A blend of 50% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, all of which are fermented separately in stainless steel then blended. This wine shows tones of brambly berries and plums with fresh mint accents and brooding tobacco and spice elements on the finish.
Brothers Alberto and Alessandro Taddei farm just a handful of hectares of vineyard in and around the town of Pesaro, and this Adriatic-influenced region produces wines of incredible personality. Pesaro is an overlooked treasure of a village in the northern Marche, hugging the Adriatic coast. As you travel by car south and west of the village, you find yourself winding down hillside roads with lush green pastures, farms, and an occasional factory or two.
Libero Taddei, the grandfather of the current generation, Alberto and Alessandro, diversified his livelihood by planting vines on the hillsides. Sangiovese was a natural selection, but grapes such as Merlot and Cabernet Franc were also found to be well suited to the vineyards. Today at Selvagrossa, there are almost four hectares of vineyards that surround Mamma Anselma’s house and the winery, and another half hectare they work with in a coastal vineyard north of Pesaro. The farming has been certified organic since 2017, but Selvagrossa has practiced sustainable farming for many years. The winery at Selvagrossa is very simple, not a lot of bells and whistles, but it makes delicious and complex wines.
The 2022 “Muschèn” is a blend of 50% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, and 20% Cabernet Franc. No oak is used; it is fermented and aged only in stainless steel. “Muschèn” is the quintessential everyday Italian red, with that classic red fruit on the nose from the Sangiovese, a plushness in the midpalate from the Merlot, and some complex herbs and mineral notes from the Cabernet Franc.

70% Grenache Noir, 15% Syrah, 15% Monastrell co-fermented. A cool, semi-carbonic maceration lasts 8 days. Fermentation in a 3,000-litre raw-concrete egg-shaped fermenter with no skin contact. Amanda Barnes writes: Pale cherry in colour, Ver Sacrum takes a delicate approach to their GSM blend which sings with notes of wild strawberries, tarragon and cherry blossom. There’s a slight tartness to the palate, with crisp acidity and barely-there powdery tannins. Delightfully easy-drinking, chillable light red. Drinking 2024 to 2026. - Jancis Robinson 16+
Feudo Montoni Vigna del Core Perricone Sicilia Organic 2021 750ml
Winemaker Description
Ruby red in color with light violet reflections. Notes of prune, red fruit preserves, spices and notes of cocoa and licorice. Fresh, soft and round on the palate with tannins that are typical of this variety. A well-polished wine.
Expert Review
Wine Enthusiast 91 Points | Hints of firewood and camphor light up behind black cherries, vanilla, cedar and spices on the nose of this red from the Perricone grape. Fresher notes of tomatoes and herbs come out on the palate. An undercurrent of stony brininess and more berries come through at the back, with the tension held by mellowing tannins but vibrant acid. (2020).
Domaine Eden Cabernet Sauvignon Santa Cruz Mountains 2019 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2019
Winemaker Description
94 pts Antonio Galloni Presents Vinous October 2022
91 pts Wine Enthusiast Magazine Cellar Selection December 2023
90 pts Wine Spectator November 15, 2023
90 pts Wine & Spirits Magazine Winter 2023
2019 was a beautiful year for grape growing in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The winter was generous with moisture and coolness. The spring was stormy in May, but the late-season Bordeaux varieties escaped harm and set a modest crop. The harvest schedule was more typical and started in late September and into October, which was encouraging.
This wine is a composite of our appellation, produced from five distinct vineyards. All of them are a short distance from Domaine Eden, with our staff farming the majority. When we started this in 1999, we wanted to offer a wine reflecting our region, which is unlike any other. A coastal, high elevation, Cabernet-based Bordeaux blend made to the Mount Eden style--structured and terroir-driven--that is also ageable and affordable.
All fermentations were indigenous, with no fining or filtration. There are loamy earth scents along with currant, blackberry and cedar. The palate is bright with blue fruit, acidity and balanced tannins. A good cellar choice for the next 7-12 years.
Chateau Carteau Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2019 750ml

Faust Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 375ml HALF BOTTLE
Winemaker Description
Aromas of Chocolate and black cherry are complemented with layers of savory black cherry tart and notes of tarragon. Faust’s bright acidity is combined with mineral notes and fine grained tannins resulting in a long memorable finish.
Expert Reviews
Inviting aromas of ripe blackcurrants and blackberries as well as crushed walnuts, cedar and bark. Full-bodied, creamy and structured with firm, polished tannins. Balanced and even with a lingering finish. (2021).
Wine Spectator 94 Points | Packed and broad in feel, with a ganache note draped over black currant, blackberry and steeped cherry. Licorice root and alder smoke flavors check in on the finish as the fruit pumps through, ending with a flash of violet. Hard to resist now, but this has some development ahead. (2021).
Wine Enthusiast 93 Points Hefty and grippy, this full-bodied wine is sturdy in tannins, deep in black and blue fruits, and will come around nicely with more aging. Blackberries, blueberries, cocoa and hints of oak char make a good, complex expression on the palate. (2021).
Jeb Dunnuck 91 Points | The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is terrific, as well as a terrific value. Cassis, ripe blackberries, tobacco, and some chocolate oak notes all flow to a medium-bodied, supple, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon with terrific purity as well as balance. (2021).
Robert Parker's 91 Points | There are an impressive 50,000 cases of Faust's 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon. Featuring upfront notes of Ribena-like cassis fruit accented by hints of cedar and vanilla, it's a full-bodied, generous effort that is softly dusty, plush and easy to drink now, but it has enough tannin to hold for at least another decade. It's a solid value. (2021).
Domaine Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape La Crau 2021 750ml
Expert Ratings
Wine Advocate 93 Points | Marked by ripe cherries and hints of complex garrigue notes on the nose, it's full-bodied but also really elegant, with fine-grained, silky tannins, ample concentration and a long, surprisingly crisp finish. Barrel Sample: 93-95.
Decanter 96 Points | Full, generous and broad. Acids are bright and vibrant, and there's a fine but dense weft of tannins through the wine. Great energy and salinity this year, this is particularly fine and balanced, with plenty of concentration and a long finish. All from La Crau and fermented in tronconic wood barrels. Élevage in foudre. Oldest Grenache bunches aren't destemmed.
James Suckling 96 Points | Such a deep and meaty nose with a slew of wild-herb, savory and subtle balsamic notes. Then comes the expansive and very concentrated palate, which reveals so many spicy nuances as it rolls over the palate, the stunning fine tannins pushing the finish out even further. A grenache-based blend from 60-year-old vines. Barrel Sample: 96-97

Klinker Brick Zinfandel Old Vine 2019 Organic 375ml HALF BOTTLE
Winemaker Description
This, Klinker Brick's flagship zinfandel, is made from vineyard blocks up to 120 years old. Delta Breezes and the associated fog allow us to retain above average acidity for the region, providing notes of dark cherry and spices. Barrel fermentation brings additional structure to thin skin varietal. The extremely low yields of century old vineyards bring notes of rhubarb and cranberry, with a hint of black pepper. The result is a balanced and complex Zinfandel perfect for both Summer barbecues and Fall fire pits.
Chateau Clos de la Cure Saint Emilion Grand Cru 2021 375ml HALF BOTTLE
Winemaker Description
The wine has a dark, ruby red color. Its aromas offer a savory impression of candied fruit. The taste is harmonious, concentrated with a strong tannin content that allows good storage. When it comes to grape varieties, there is a clear predominance of Merlot grapes, which are complemented by Cabernet Franc and a little Cabernet Sauvignon.
A wine to accompany game and red meat with sauce.

All wines are made from grapes grown on our 53-acre estate vineyard located above a river gorge in the far northwestern corner of the Sonoma Coast, 4 miles from the Pacific Ocean at Sea Ranch. We sit in the chilly inversion layer with fog and wind from the Ocean maintaining cool temperatures with plenty of sunlight.

We farm organically and maintain our licenses for fish friendly farming and integrated pest management. The health of our vineyard dictates these approaches to farming and making wine. We also run on bio-diesel at the vineyard and solar power at both the vineyard and winery.

Robert Parker 94 Points | The 2021 Estate Pinot Noir Ama is powerful and perfumed this vintage. It offers aromas broody aromas of red and black cherries and aniseed with top notes of saline and citrus peel. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and refreshing with generous berry fruit and floral accents, and it has a long, spicy finish. (2021).

Brendel Cabernet Sauvignon Cooper's Reed Napa Valley 2021 750ml
Expert Review
San Francisco Chronicle | Brendel likes to say that they have a secret ingredient: dirt. Their range of wines are made from some of the best sites in Napa’s most renowned regions, including the eastern side of Rutherford (the main component here), the highest elevations of Howell Mountain, two diverse sites in St. Helena, and a steep plot in Oak Knoll. Each vineyard is chosen for its quality and unique aptitude, with soil types ranging from volcanic to clay to bring out the best in each grape in their array of wines. It’s, as they put it, good dirt.
Winemaker Description
The 2021 Brendel Cooper’s Reed Cabernet Sauvignon is a fresh and vibrant take on Napa Valley’s famed grape varietal. Harvested under moonlight, the fruit is crushed at cool temperatures and then thoughtfully monitored throughout fermentation. After a 7-10 day fermentation, the wine is gently pressed to oak casks where it is allowed to mature for 9 months prior to bottling. Fruit is sourced from prized vineyards in Napa and Sonoma, giving the wine its mouthwatering structure, and elevage in upright oak casks preserves the bright red and black fruit characteristics.

Robert Craig Howell Mountain Cuvee Cabernet Blend 2020 750ml
Our mission at RCW is to be stewards of our tremendous vineyards while welcoming each successive generation to our wines and our culture ... without requiring a ridiculous price of entry. To that end, we are thrilled to present another vintage of this affordable and amazing introduction to the wines of The Craig, for those not familiar with what we do ... as well as a reward to our current customers.
Predominately Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, and Malbec, our 2020 edition was produced from our very best estate fruit that was declassified due to the fires and the reputation of the vintage rather than the quality of the fruit that came in early. This wine is profoundly dark and deep and presents the thrilling, racy nature of Howell Mountain minerality and sense of place. I cannot tell you what a great buy this all-estate Howell Mountain Bordeaux blend represents. Open it now and give it some air, or stash in the cellar for the brown bag victory in ten years. 2020 is a tiny but wonderful vintage in certain pockets of the Napa Valley."
Altesino Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Montosoli 2018 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2018
James Suckling 97 points - This has a complex nose of cranberries, dried pineapple, soy, bark, cardamom, mocha, iodine and wet leather. Full-bodied, with firm and very fine tannins. It really builds in intensity, expanding into a broad array of fresh and dried fruit and espresso bean, before converging again on a long and driven finish. Fantastic already.
Jeb Dunnuck 96 points - Attractive smoky perfume lifts from the 2018 Brunello Di Montalcino Vigna Montosoli, with sunny red plum, anise, lavender, and cedar. It is full-bodied, with a refined tannin structure, and a bit more wood influence that will integrate nicely in time. Offering notes of black cherry, licorice, crushed stones, and warming spice, it displays a broader nature compared to the rest of the range, which is to be expected from this iconic site with a somewhat warmer, south-facing exposition.
The Wine Advocate 94+ points - The word "Vigna" has been added to the official name of this wine to underline work in the appellation meant to focus on single-vineyard designates. The Altesino 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Montosoli comes from a unique growing site with some of the best exposures from hillside vineyards. This wine shows a slightly dark hue with added concentration and depth. I am delighted by the bouquet that reveals dark cherry, blue flower, crushed stone and grilled herb. There is sweet toast and spice at the back. This is one of the more complete and age-worthy wines from the 2018 vintage.end quote.
Wine Spectator 94 points - A dense, tannic red, with plum, cherry, menthol, iron and spice flavors driven by lively acidity. A bit more burly than many 2018s, yet this remains vibrant, superlong and complex.
Vinous Media - 94 points - The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli is dark and brooding with a lavender-tinged mix of crushed rocks, dusty cherry, curry leaf and hints of balsamic spice. It's delicate with a balanced inner sweetness and smooth contours, showing vividly ripe wild blackberry, and even hints of blueberry fruit. It leaves a staining of primary concentration, like liquid violets, yet finishes only lightly structured and wonderfully perfumed. The magic of Montosoli shines through, but don't expect the 2018 to make old bones. Production was down by 20% due to a more-severe selection of grapes in 2018.
Domaine Meo Camuzet Vosne Romanee 1er Cru Les Chaumes 2020 750ml
Expert Reviews
Wine Advocate 91 Points | The 2020 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes unwinds in the glass with aromas of sweet cherries, cassis and rose petals, framed by a discreet patina of creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and vibrant, with lively acids, powdery tannins and a saline finish, it is very promising. (2020).
Barrel Sample: (91-93)+Burghound 90 Points | Very Vosne-like aromas blend nose of clove and anise with those of black cherry, violet and cassis. The plush and lavishly rich medium weight flavors possess fine punch before culminating in a relatively robust, indeed even slightly chewy finale. This is certainly attractive in its fashion but it's not typical for Chaumes. (2020).
Powers Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley 2018 750ml
Winemaker Description
Savory notes of fennel and sage are backed by deep aromas of mountain blackberry, black raspberry, and cassis. Woven into this complex profile are notes of wet limestone and gravel. On the palate: black raspberry and black currant, balanced by sage and anise notes. The dark fruit finish is complemented by balanced tannins, minerals and a touch of cedar.
Groth Cabernet Oakville Sauvignon Reserve 2018 750ml
Winemaker Description
Purple-ruby in color, this wine is dark and rich even to the eye. A plethora of aromatics greet you from the glass, beginning with blueberry and black currant, and leading to cinnamon, mocha, lavender and clove. The final aromatics to reveal themselves are cigar box and wet gravel. When tasting the wine, the first impression is the fine tannin and balanced acid, which then leads to boysenberry, blackberry and ripe plum skin. The finish is seamless and smooth — the hallmark of a Groth Reserve Cabernet.
Expert Reviews
96 Points Wine Spectator: This has the vivid, driven cassis, boysenberry and blackberry fruit of the vintage, but it's well-harnessed, with streaks of racy anise, alder and sweet bay leaf providing focus and precision. There's a long echo of iron and savory through the finish as the fruit lingers, leaving a mouthwatering feel. Understated in style compared with its colleagues, but no less complex. Best from 2022 through 2038.
94 Points James Suckling: Aromas of ripe blackberries, blueberries, plums, earth, lavender and bark. It’s medium-to full-bodied with fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Balanced and juicy with a caressing texture and a bright core of spiced fruit. Elegant. Drink from 2023.
Bodegas Montecillo Edicion Limitada 2017 750ml
Winemaker Description
Cherry red with a very deeply colored blue rim, showing great density and amplitude upon swirling. Very fruity on the nose, with notes of liquorice and redcurrant underscored by subtle hints of cinnamon and juniper. Rounded and full-bodied in the mouth, with a glycerine texture. Powerful attack, with noticeably seductive tannins and a freshness that sustains it through the palate, making it long and enjoyable. The black fruit and fragrant notes of oak return again on the finish.
Expert Review
James Suckling 92 points | Spicy with some black walnuts, dark plums, mineral, cherries and flowers. Juicy with an elegant expression of fruit on the palate. Firm and medium-bodied with a long, succulent finish. Very ethereal and textured. Drink now or hold.
Livingston Cellars Cabernet 1.50L MAGNUM
Winemaker Description
Deep red in color, our Cabernet Sauvignon is well balanced with hints of humidor, cassis, bright red apple and cherry.
Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino 2019 750ml
Decanter Magazine | The 2019 is a vintage of balance, somewhere between 2016, 2013 and 2010. Sant'Angelo in Colle, which suffers in warmer vintages, performed very well and Il Poggione is a great example of the harmony of the area's wines in this vintage. Fruity at first sniff, it becomes more restrained later, with black cherry, violet, leather, graphite vibrancy and its typical nutty finish. The chalky tannins are extracted but velvety, underlined by an almost zesty acidity.
The Wine Advocate | The Il Poggione 2019 Brunello di Montalcino shows an evolved bouquet with aromas of dried fruit, forest floor, crushed flower and autumnal leaf. On a second nose, you get dark licorice, wet slate, cola and grilled rosemary. The tannins are powdery and dry. I recommend a medium-term drinking window as a result. You do feel the powerful 15% alcohol content in this ample 200,000-bottle release.
Wine Spectator | Features ample plum, cherry, iron, tobacco and underbrush flavors buoyed by a plump texture to match the dense structure, plus vibrant acidity to keep it all focused. Another year of aging should allow the finish to stretch out and this wine to reach its full potential. Best from 2026 through 2042. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
Lots of dried fruit, such as figs and dried cherries, followed by tree bark, rosemary and a hint of sandalwood. Full-bodied, creamy palate with a solid tannin texture. Wonderful length. Dense and opulent. Better after 2029.
Paul Hobbs Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2021 750ml
Winemaker Description
Violet in hue, the 2021 vintage entices with pomegranate, dark cherry, and black tea. The voluptuous texture fuses with layered notes of boysenberry, bergamot, and hints of sage. As it moves across the palate both acid and fine-grained tannins are flawlessly integrated, accentuated by a red clay minerality. This is a refined and graceful wine with lively acidity, leading to a long finish.
Expert Reviews
Vinous 95 Points | The 2021 Pinot Noir (Russian River Valley) is dense, heady and explosive. All the classic Russian River exuberance comes through, but amplified in all of the good ways and none of the bad. Even with all of the richness and intensity, the 2021 retains good freshness as well as energy. A touch of whole clusters brightens the finish nicely. (2021).
James Suckling 93 Points Plenty of dried strawberry with black cherry and hints of chocolate. Full and very fresh with orange-peel and floral undertones. Vivid fruit. Tangy. About 15% whole cluster. Drink or hold. (2021).
Wine Spectator 93 Points | Bright and punchy, with a host of delicious mulberry and pomegranate notes, carried by crunchy acidity and backed by light anise and potpourri accents on the finish. Shows nice racy energy underneath. (2021).
Robert Parker 92 Points | The 2021 Pinot Noir is composed of 94% estate fruit. It was crafted with about 15% whole clusters and matured in 33% new oak. It has broody scents of blueberry, cranberry, rhubarb, cured meats, lavender and allspice. The medium-bodied palate has generous, juicy fruit, a soft, grainy frame and a long finish. This is very easy to drink! (2021).
Rosso Viola Lambrusco Salamino Organic 2023 750ml
Winemaker Description

Secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle, initiated by the addition of fresh grape must. The bottles are hand-riddled and -disgorged. No sulfur is added at any stage of the process.
Expert Review
Bart Hopkins 67Wine.com | Made from organic grapes and fermented in the bottle with no added sulfites, Rosso Viola is a dark ruby with a terrific bouquet of aromatic cherries, strawberries and violets. In the mouth, the tiny bubbles have an elegant, persistent creaminess that brings forth a highly sophisticated mouthfeel with energetic flavors that linger deliciously through the finish. Expert Reviews - Vintage 2021
93 Points James Suckling | A well-crafted, aromatic and textural red. It shows notes of dark berries, game, wild herbs, grilled meat and baking spices with some cloves. Medium-bodied with fin tannings. Layered and highly textural. Spicy and well composed.

Notes of struck match and black olive lend a savory cast to the black cherry fruit, so it's not a simple, one-note wonder but a medium to full-bodied wine of reasonable complexity.

The Wine Advocate 88-90 Points | With a medium to deep garnet-purple color, it offers up eager-to-please notes of fresh Bing cherries, redcurrants and black raspberries, plus hints of dried Provence herbs, dusty soil, wild mushrooms and tobacco leaf. The medium-bodied palate has a good concentration of red and black fruits with a chewy texture and just enough freshness, finishing earthy.
Wine Spectator 90 Points | Reserved in style, this moves steadily and methodically along, with a textbook core of cassis and bitter cherry notes laced with light anise, wet stone and iron. Shows good mouthwatering cut on the finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

The Dolcetto for this wine is sourced from both the Paje and Carso vineyards in Barbaresco, which is part of the Asili hill. Paje is particularly rich in calcareous marl soil with a high content of active limestone. Carso sits next to the fortresses of Barbaresco, facing East, with limestone clay soil and a significant presence of sand. Hand-harvested in September. The vines for this wine have a minimum age of 45 years. Fermented lasts for ten days in large french casks with a pied de cuvee made with indigenous yeasts. Submerged cap maceration then follows for 90-100 days. The wine then ages in neutral french oak botti for approximately one year.
Dalton Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Kosher 2021 750ml
Winemaker Notes
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a dark, rich and well-balanced wine, showing characteristic forest fruit qualities such as currants, berries and mint, which are complemented very well with subtle vanilla flavours from the oak.
This wine goes particularly well with grilled meats, steak, hamburgers and roast chicken.
