Wine Enthusiast 94 Points | This reposado is rested six years in American oak (more than required for reposado), yet because it was aged in a vessel larger than the 600-liter maximum, it still gets to bear the reposado label. The liquid offers distinctly sweet aromas of vanilla, maple and dried fig. The palate echoes those tones, layering on clove, allspice and cayenne.

At PM Spirits, we're always on the lookout not just for superlative spirits, but also for like-minded people. When we met Jose Luis Gutierrez, we knew right away he was someone special.

Having spent years working both independently and for the Mexican Trade Commission throughout Europe – promoting and establishing reciprocity of the Tequila Denomination of Origin – Jose Luis later started working closely with producers in Jalisco in order to source and provide quality Tequila directly to European brands and bottlers.

We had been wanting to collaborate with someone on bottling a PM Spirits Project Tequila for quite some time. Jose Luis' passion for and knowledge of the spirit was apparent to us from day one, and we could think of no better person to have worked with to make this project happen. Thank you, Jose Luis.

Joven, blanco blended with 3-4 year extra añejo aged in used bourbon barrels. Clear with a very mild amber shine. Fruity yet medium to full body and a long spicy oak finish. Delivers a vibrant agave flavor supported by spicy oak nuances.

Siete Leguas' Decades Blanco celebrates their 70th anniversary and is sure to be an instant collectors item and darling of the Tequila cognoscenti. Made from wild Criollo agaves, a smaller and richer pina than the common blue weber, which grow naturally on the steepest slopes. The dangerous task of harvesting these is rewarded with more flavor.

After a 3 day cook in the small stone ovens of Casa Siete Leguas, the agaves are crushed with tahona. Natural fermentation in open air tanks takes in the ambient yeast of the surrounding citrus orchards and helps impart the house style of Siete Leguas.

Double distillation on small copper pot stills finishes the production process and yields the stunning Decades Blanco - a 42% ABV Tequila that will not disappoint.

This creation symbolizes our journey: how far we’ve come these past 25 years as well as the brilliant future that awaits us. It is also a way for us to thank all the people who have been part of this journey: the talented artisans, all those who are part of the Clase Azul family, and, of course, everyone who has brought a small piece of our Exquisite Mexico into their homes.

To celebrate our legacy, we’ve created our first decanter completely painted in our distinctive cobalt blue color. Inspired by dandelion seeds being carried by the wind, its feathered motifs embody Clase Azul México's expansion across the world. Twenty-five of the brushstrokes that grace the surface of the decanter have been hand painted in platinum; one for each year of our history.

The tequila created for this edition pays homage to our signature Clase Azul Tequila Reposado. Our Master Distiller, Viridiana Tinoco, reimagined its creation to give it a special touch.

Part of the agave used to make this blend was milled using a traditional stone mill called a tahona, a practice that dates back to the origins of tequila.

In addition, the fermentation process was extended to accentuate the liquid’s citrus and fruity notes. This blend was aged for eight months in two different first-use American whiskey casks, each one imparting its own distinct and rich tasting notes.

Tasting Notes: Reposado rests for a minimum of four months in Select French Oak and Cognac barrels handcrafted with French Limousin Oak. The woody aroma evokes soft vanilla with hints of raisin and sweet tobacco. To taste, it has notes of wild honey, raisin, and butterscotch.
