A pleasant freshness with a successful combination of red fruits such as cherries and currants; the short aging in wood rounds off the palate, providing notes of laurel and toast in perfect balance with its acidity.

Anima Negra Quibia Falanis 2022 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2022
The Wine Advocate 91 Points | The white 2022 Quíbia was produced with 60% Premsal and 40% Giró Ros and sold as a generic wine without appellation because of the use of the Giró Ros grape. It matured with lees in stainless steel before being bottled. It has 12.9% alcohol and good freshness. Unfortunately, it feels quite reductive and is difficult to read on the nose, but the palate feels vibrant and fresher. Give it a little bit of time.
Memo Notes
The 2022 is celebrated for blending aromatic fruit with a refreshing, savory quality:
Color: Enticing straw-lemon with greenish highlights.
Aromas: A delightful mix of ripe white peach, pear, jasmine, and the striking note of sea brine or crushed seashells. You may also find subtle hints of Meyer lemon and green mango.
Palate: Crisp, lively, and well-balanced. The wine delivers concentrated flavors of ripe peach,
Anjou pear, and citrus zest. Reviewers often mention a silky, almost olive oil-like texture and a savory note of capers or green almond.
Salinity: A distinct salinity runs through the wine, acting as a complex counterpoint to the fruit, which makes it incredibly versatile with food.
Winemaker Description
Ànima Negra was founded in 1994 when two self-taught friends — Pere Ignasi Obrador and Miquelàngel Cerdà — decided that the wines of their native Mallorca weren’t reaching full potential.
Taking advantage of some unused milk tanks at the dairy farm owned by Pere’s family, they made two barriques of wine from Callet grapes (a native Mallorcan varietal) they’d purchased from local farmers. The initial results were so encouraging that the friends decided to form a partnership and continue pursuing their newly found passion for wine.
Situated in the southeast of Mallorca, Ànima Negra winery produces its wines on the old country estate of Son Burguera, close to the town of Felanitx. The buildings date back to the 13th century, and contain a traditional winemaking area, which historically was used to supply wine for locals living on and near the estate.
Ànima Negra sources its grapes from more than 135 carefully selected parcels of land that the partners either own or control. Virtually all of these parcels are within a six-mile radius of the winery, and most of the vines are 50 to 85 years old.
Jezreel Argaman Dry Red Blend Kosher 2020 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2020
James Suckling 90 Points | I love the blue fruit and violet brightness of this amply structured medium- to full-bodied Israeli red. Some bitter chocolate and black licorice character, too. Moderately dry with crisp acidity at the long, straight finish.
Memo Notes

It is celebrated for its commitment to creating distinctly Israeli, Mediterranean-style wines and for its pioneering work with local grape varietals.

Jezreel is best known for its red blends and its commitment to the indigenous Argaman grape.
Pascal Doquet Champagne Brut Nature Blanc De Blancs Arpege (2019 Base) 750ml
Expert Reviews - Base 2019
James Suckling 93 Points | A vibrant, textural and precise blanc de blancs with aromas of dried pears, pastry spices and some warm herbs. Medium-bodied with bright acidity. It’s full of verve and focus, with a mineral core mingling with spices and dried pears. A textured and lingering finish.
The Wine Advocate 91 Points | Disgorged in December 2023 without dosage, Doquet’s NV Blanc de Blancs Arpège untites the flesh and texture of the clayey sites in Vertus with the mineral profile of Le Mont-Aimé and Villeneuve. With two-thirds of reserve wines dating back to 2012 and the remaining 33% from the 2019 vintage, it soars from the glass with scents of jasmine, grapefruit, nectarine and plums. On the palate, it's medium-bodied with a compact and taut profile, elegant mousse, incisive acidity and a long, penetrating finish. Vinified in used oak barrels (one-third) and enameled steel. It’s the most chiseled of the three non-vintage blends.
Memo Summary Notes
Doquet was an early adopter of organic farming (certified since 2010) long before it was trendy. His wines are intellectually satisfying but delicious—marked by sharp acidity, chalky textures, and very low dosage (sugar).
-
Style: Crystalline, tension-filled, saline, and complex.
-
Best For: Enthusiasts of "terroir" wines and acid-forward styles like Pierre Péters or Larmandier-Bernier.

Cantina Tramin Kellerei Epokale Gewurztraminer Spatlese 2017 750ml
A true benchmark of Italian white wine, this Gewürztraminer dazzles with elegance and intensity. Aromas of lychee, rose petals, and exotic spices lead to a palate that is silky, richly textured, and beautifully balanced. A radiant sweet core blends seamlessly with a savory, creamy finish, offering enormous length and sophistication.
Highly acclaimed by critics — the first Italian wine outside Tuscany or Piedmont to receive a perfect 100-point score from The Wine Advocate — the 2017 vintage continues this legacy with near-perfect praise from Falstaff and Forbes Magazine.
Perfect for festive celebrations or as a luxurious holiday gift, especially when presented in a three-bottle pine gift box.
Tasting Notes: Lychee, rose, exotic spice, creamy texture, radiant sweetness, long elegant finish.
Winery Notes
Founded in 1889 by Christian Schrott, rector of Termeno, Cantina Tramin is one of the oldest cooperatives in the region. Our wines are crafted from grapes grown by over 300 local growers, with each bottle reflecting a philosophy of rigor, dedication, confidence, and creativity.
Wine Production
After fermenting and aging in steel tanks with the lees for 8 months, the bottled wine is transported to the Ridanna Monteneve mine, over 2,000 meters in altitude. Here, it ages in the dark for nearly 6 years, 4 km deep in the mine, in an environment with constant 90% humidity, 11°C temperature, and air pressure equal to outdoors.
Tasting Notes
The interplay of sunny Mediterranean days and cool mountain nights helps develop the aromas and maintain the vibrant acidity of Epokale. Expect a wine that is aromatic, balanced, and expressive.
Food Pairing
Epokale pairs beautifully with spicy dishes, its floral aromas complement seafood, grilled fish, and white meats. It also shines with dishes rich in herbs or spices, such as game with pear, cranberry jam, and alpine herbs. Perfect with smear-ripened cheeses and desserts that are not overly sweet.
Joseph Drouhin Beaune Clos des Mouches 2023 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2023
James Suckling 98 Points | The iodine, blackberry and rose-stem character comes through clearly. Plenty of fruit and depth. Medium-bodied with fine tannins that caress the palate and provide endless flavors of Indian spices, flint, nutmeg and light crust. Such refinement and integrity. Drinkable now, but better in three or four years.
The Wine Advocate 93 Points | The 2023 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches (Domaine) is showing nicely, bursting with aromas of sweet berries, spices, orange zest and new oak. Medium to full-bodied, succulent and lively, with chalky grip on the finish, it will offer a broad drinking window.
Decanter 93 Points | Lovely cherry fruit with hints of lavender and rosemary. The texture is silky and dense, almost fat. There is more clay here, and less limestone than in Les Cras, and the tannic structure is not as firm. The grapes are from Drouhin's massive 6.75ha here, not far from Pommard; they are partially destemmed and fermented on native yeasts before ageing in cask (25% new) for 14–18 months.
Paolo Bea Bianco Santa Chiara 2021 750ml ORANGE
Expert Review - Vintage 2021
Vinous 91 Points | A deep golden-yellow color, the 2021 Santa Chiara is zesty with a burst of fermented ginger, cedar shavings, exotic florals and dried apricots. Soothingly round and soft-textured, this opens with a lovely inner sweetness contrasted by a liquid floral concentration that coats the palate. Green apples resonate throughout. It finishes long and lightly tannic, leaving a primary concentration and hints of chamomile. The 2021 spent twenty-eight days fermenting on the skins, which is about five days more than the average vintage, resulting in its wild bouquet.
Maison Chanzy Bourgogne Les Fortunes Pinot Noir 2023 750ml

De Wetshof Lesca Chardonnay 2024 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2024
James Suckling 91 Points | Buttered corn, baked pears, vanilla and white chocolate on the nose, followed by a creamy, full-bodied palate. It’s ripe but shows good freshness. Sweet buttercream notes to close.
Ancient Peaks Zinfandel Santa Margarita Ranch 2022 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
The Tasting Panel 92 Points | Quintessential aromas of ripe berries and plum are joined by vanilla and peppercorn in this textbook Zin grown on the most southerly estate vineyard in Paso Robles 14 miles from the Pacific. The result is a red of effusive energy and real charm that's fruit-forward enough to sip on its own yet has sufficient spice and structure to stand up to grilled meats.
The Wine Spectator 89 Points | Snappy and briary, with user-friendly raspberry and green peppercorn flavors that end with zesty tannins. Drink now through 2030. 4,008 cases made.
Ramos Reserva Alentejano Winemaker's Red Blend 2023 750ml

Winemaker Description
Ruby red in color. This wine displays aromas of ripe red fruit and dried herbs. It is soft and robust with complex tannins. On the palate, the wine is spicy with a long finish.
This hand-crafted wine is a blend of native Alentejo grapes Trincadeira and Aragonez plus a touch of Syrah for added body. Ferraton Pere et Fils Cotes du Rhone Villages Laudun Blanc 2023 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2023
Jeb Dunnuck 90 Points | The 2023 Côtes Du Rhône Samorens Blanc is based on 35% Roussanne, 30% Grenache, 20% Viognier, and 15% Clairette. It has a beautifully pure nose of ripe lemon, honeyed white flowers, and chalky minerality. It's medium-bodied, has a fresh, focused, lively mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and a saliva-inducing finish.
Winemaker Description
Bright, pale golden color with silver hints. Aromas of white flowers and white fruits. Nicely balanced wine, Clairette brings the freshness and the Grenache Blanc brings the body and softness.
This wine is fantastic with a variety of light and flavorful dishes:
-
Seafood: Grilled fish, sole meunière, scallops (coquilles Saint-Jacques), or shellfish/oysters due to its minerality and fresh character.
-
Poultry: Chicken or turkey dishes.
-
Vegetables: Risotto with asparagus or a Mediterranean ratatouille.
-
Local Pairing: It pairs wonderfully with Provençal and Mediterranean cuisine.
Clos Rougeard Saumur Champigny Rouge 2017 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2017
Decanter 91 Points | A sense of minerality with gunflint on the nose, almost a tertiary character, giving the impression of a cooler vintage. The palate is quite backward, and the fruit purity has not really come out to the extent of the 2018, so this is much less revealing.
Vinous 90 Points | The 2017 Le Clos is a blend of 15 sites across five hectares. It is a richly fragrant, brooding style, with lots of complex layers. Light on its feet, its compact core is rich with texture, and its flavors linger long. There's a meaty edge, olives, dried herbs and a rather drying conclusion, which is a bit suspect and leaves a question mark for its future longevity.
Jancis Robinson 18/20 Points | This is worth every penny of its price tag. It has a hushed intensity. It’s mellow, fitting into itself like an old library: dust and shelves, polished coppery red wood and the smell of a warm fireplace. Parchment and pages and ink and leather-bound books. It's sweet and smoky, concentration and power pulsing through the fruit in waves. Damsons, cloves and tobacco-smoke tendrils, cigars. The tannins fan fine and fragrant, across and through, a plethora but in exquisite restraint. This is a real beauty. One of the best wines of the tasting.
Ziereisen Spatburgunder Tschuppen ORGANIC 2021 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2021
Decanter 94 Points | Refined and elegant with dark cherry, raspberry and purple florals overlaid by wild herb and balsamic hints. Sapid, stony and bright with gentle power, fine structure and a quietly unfolding complexity.
The Wine Advocate 92 Points | From loess parcels, the 2021 Pinot Noir TS is from the Tschuppen. The purple-ruby colored wine opens with clear, fresh, well-defined cherry aromas with tart floral notes. Silky, fresh and elegant on the palate, this is a saline, tight and mineral, beautifully refreshing and tart-finishing Pinot Noir with tight but fine tannins and serious mineral acidity. From a remarkable terroir, this is a thirst-quenching Pinot of remarkable character, bone dry but irresistible. 12% stated alcohol. Tasted at the domaine in February 2024.
Importer Memo Notes
Site: Tschuppen is a site at the top of the hill, loess over loam soils, vines are 12-20 years old.
Fermentation: Spontaneous in stainless steel
Maceration: 6 Weeks on skins
Whole Cluster: 70% destemmed
Elevage: 2 years in large fuder, bottled without filtration
Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe Telegramme Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge 2022 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
The Wine Spectator 92 Points | Distinctive in a very good way, this chooses savory elegance over power. A refreshing and mineral-driven style, with appealing pepper, spice box and chestnut, all surrounding a core of red currant threaded with a stream of herbs. With warm earth on the seductively textured palate, this shows good energy and harmony through the vibrant finish, marked by iron and smoked meat. Well-done. Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault. Drink now through 2032. 2,464 cases imported.
Vinous 92 Points | The 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Télégramme kicks off with crushed violets, ripe raspberry, wild strawberry and a pinch of dried herbs. Leafy gradations add more complexity. Round and elegant, the full-bodied 2022 walks off the stage with persistence on the juicy finish.
Jeb Dunnuck 92 Points | The only wine produced in the vintage due to the devastating tornado just before the harvest, the 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape Télégramme seems to be a mix of a normal Vieux Télégraphe and a Télégramme. Black raspberries, darker cherries, peppery garrigue, and a Grand Vin sense of salty minerality define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, has rock-solid ripeness, plenty of tannins, and outstanding length.
The Wine Advocate 92 Points | A blend of 85% Grenache and the rest of Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre, the 2022 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Télégramme offers up aromas of flowers, dark cherries and dark wild berries, followed by a medium to full-bodied, structured and concentrated palate with velvety tannins and a long, dense finish.
James Suckling 92 Points | An elegant expression of grenache in Chateauneuf, this has a wealth of red berries and summer flowers. The very solid tannins have been expertly crafted, and they build beautifully in the long finish. Considering how the vineyards were hit by hail just before the harvest, this has turned out very well.
Roseblood D'Estoublon Coteaux Varois en Provence 2024 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2024
James Suckling 92 Points | Flowers, minerals, pink cherries, orange peel and a hint of crushed stones on the nose. Clean and crunchy, with a medium body and a bright, citrusy finish.
The Wine Spectator | A fragrant, floral rosé, with a burst of watermelon and strawberry lemonade notes. Maintains vibrant energy from start to finish, with a saline mineral foundation offsetting the creamy fruit. Balanced and delicious, showing a waft of smoke on the well-meshed finish. Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Rolle.
Winemaker Description
In this blend of four emblematic Provençal grape varietals, each plays a distinctive role: Grenache contributes roundness, delicacy, and subtle aromas, while Syrah adds power and color. Cinsault, known for finesse and fruity notes, gently balances the strength provided by Grenache and Syrah. Rolle, the iconic white grape of Provence, introduces a touch of tension, freshness, and floral notes to complete this well-balanced blend.
Pio Cesare Barbera d'Alba 2023 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2023
Decanter 93 Points | A youthful magenta color, the 2023 Barbera D'Alba is fresh and fruity. This vintage was released at the end of 2024 and is the blend of more than 10 different locations in the Barolo and Barbaresco region as well as from villages outside the appellation. The nose is fresh with notes of ripe cherries, candied flowers, delicate baking spice, and just hint of turned earth. It’s medium-bodied and has snappy freshness, with a plush texture and a hint of savory earth notes, making this a very food-friendly wine, perfect for pasta nights and pizza.
Winemaker Description
The Barbera grapes grown in the Barolo area give full structure, plummy and complex flavor, with spicy and ripe fruit, blackberry aroma and a hint of toasted tobacco. It ages quite well. Vinous, this classic Barbera has a very well balanced acidity and really represents the traditional character of the Barbera grape.
Familia Pujol-Busquets Garnatxa Negra Organic Catalunya 2023 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2023
The Wine Enthusiast 90 Points by Elaine Chukan Brown | Juicy, fresh and mouthwatering, this flavorful and friendly red delivers flavors of red plum, mixed berries, fennel, and a touch of sweet vanilla.
Winemaker Description
Alta Alella is the closest winery to Barcelona, located 2 kilometres from the Mediterranean between the towns of Alella and Tiana. It is a family-run project that began in 1991 with Josep Maria Pujol-Busquets and his wife Cristina Guillen. Now the estate is headed up by their daughter, Mireia.
Alella is one of the smallest appellations in Spain yet it possesses a fascinating terroirs that the Alta Alella team have harnessed in their journey to being recognised as the premier estate in the region. All the vines are planted on slopes and terraces overlooking the Mediterranean, between 100 and 250m above sea level. One of the key elements is the Sauló soil found throughout the vineyard.
Particular to this region, Sauló is an acidic and sandy soil with a low limestone content, low organic matter and good natural water drainage – ideal for the production of clean wines with a mineral edge.
Domaine de la Grand Cour JF Dutraive FLEURIE Clos de la Grand Cour Organic 2023 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2023
Stuart Pigott JamesSuckling.com writes 93 Points | Very cool, delicate and restrained, this Fleurie is barely medium-bodied but has quite a firm tannic core and plenty of wet-stone minerality. The red berry fruit is still a bit closed, so you need some patience. Very good structure in the long finish. From organically grown grapes. From approximately 40-year-old vines. Matured in large neutral oak foudre barrels and smaller barrels that are at least five years old. Drink from 2027.
Kenna Wells of The Wine Advocate 91+ Points | The 2023 Fleurie Clos de la Grand'Cour, sourced from "young" vines up to 50 years old, bursts with juicy red fruits—strawberries and cherries—layered with orange peel, hibiscus and a touch of brown spice. On the palate, enveloping tannins provide structure and guide a long, steady progression. A delicate thread of graphite-like salinity emerges on the mid-palate, harmonizing with the wine's fleshy fruit. Yet it is the vibrant, expressive flavors that take center stage, culminating in a bold, fruit-driven finish. With its refined architecture and impressive depth, this wine promises great aging potential. Drink: 2026-2035.
Neal Martin of Vinous 91 Points | The 2023 Fleurie Clos de la Grand Cour comes from vines that encircle the estate that are mostly 40-50-years-old. It has a fresh, marine-tinged bouquet with just a hint of oyster shell in the background. The palate is medium-bodied and very harmonious, with gentle grip, lithe tannins, and touches of orange pith and marmalade toward the finish. Give this a year in bottle. Drink: 2026-2036.
Livio Felluga Sauvignon Collio 2023 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2023
James Suckling 91 Points | A tight and restrained wine. The nose is focused on tuberose, melon and a bit of sage. Light- to medium-bodied, full of tension, with almost zesty acidity in the finish.
The Wine Spectator 89 Points | A fresh, fragrant white, with white pepper, verbena and mineral notes accenting the apricot and star fruit flavors. Open-knit on the finish, with hints of honey and orange peel. Drink now. 700 cases imported.
Winemaker Description
Intense straw-yellow. Intense, varietal, complex and very subtle. Generous aromas of currants, hawthorn, viburnum, tomato leaves and nettles, followed by hints of sweet spice, gooseberries and pastry cream. Extremely well-structured, with a beautifully balanced, refreshing viscose texture. Hints of citrus alongside fruit like white peaches, lychees, mango and cherry plums. Subtle spice, iodised and minerally, appears in the lingering finish backed by robust acidity.
Excellent as an aperitif, it pairs well with asparagus, vegetable soups, vegetable soups and marinated fish.
Lopez de Heredia Bosconia Rioja Reserva 2014 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2014
The Wine Advocate 94 Points | I loved the nose of the 2014 Viña Bosconia Reserva, a red that sells at an incredible price for the quality, the problem is (like all their wines) finding it... They had to accelerate the harvest to avoid botrytis caused by the abundant rain during the harvest. This is a blend of 80% Tempranillo, 15% Garnacho and the remaining 5% Graciano and Mazuelo, fermented in old oak vats with their yeasts and matured in neutral American oak barrels for no less than five years. It's elegant and nuanced, developed but young for its age, with a seamless palate and very fine tannins, with energy and light. It has 13.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.3 and 6.7 grams of acidity, notable parameters of freshness. 80,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2022.
Vinous 94 Points | The 2014 Viña Bosconia is 80% Tempranillo with 10% Garnacha, 5% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo from the El Bosque vineyard in Haro, Rioja. Garnet in hue, it opens with cassis, cola and oak-driven aromas. The palate is youthful and smooth, with well-integrated tannins, black fruit and anisette at the finish. Still growing, it’ll develop greater complexity with more time in bottle.
Marc Hebrart Champagne Rose 1er Cru NV Brut 750ml
Expert Reviews
The Wine Advocate 92+ Points | A blend of 50% Chardonnay (based on the 2021 vintage, from vines planted in the commune of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ) and 44% Pinot Noir (from the same village and comprising a blend of the 2019 and 2020 vintages), the NV Extra-Brut Premier Cru Rosé displays aromas of rose, peony, strawberries and citrus. Moderately weighted and bright, it has a tense, delicate mid-palate, a pinpoint mousse and a long, precise and delicate finish. This blend contains 6% red wine vinified in barrels and was disgorged with a dosage of 5.5 grams per liter.
Vinous by Antonio Galloni 92 Points | The NV Brut Rosé has so much to offer. Creamy and resonant in the glass, with striking persistence and fine balance, Hébrart's Rosé is pure class. Cranberry, white pepper, chalk, mint and grapefruit abound. The blend of equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir works so well. What a delight. Dosage is 6 grams per liter.
The Wine Spectator 92 Points | Well-knit and minerally, with a crisp texture and flavors of ripe raspberry, poached apricot, tangerine peel and biscuit. Chalky finish. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Disgorged December 2022. Drink now. 667 cases imported.
Jeb Dunnuck 90 Points | Pale pink salmon-colored, the NV Champagne 1er Cru Brut Rosé is equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and has 6% vin rouge in the blend. It reveals notes of fresh strawberries, peaches, fresh pastry dough, and a fluffy mousse. Crisp, refreshing, and approachable, I love where this highly charming wine is now, so enjoy it over the next few years.

J.B. Becker Rielsing Wallufer Walkenberg Spatlese Trocken 2023 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2023
JamesSuckling.com by Stuart Pigott writes 94 Points | With its aromas of nutty, old-fashioned apple varieties and ripe quince, this striking dry riesling is an unspectacular beauty. It’s medium-bodied with a wonderful harmony of silky acidity, a hauntingly subtle minerality and a very long, stony finish that somehow manages to be very gentle. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
Winemaker Description
The nose here is just a shade riper, with tart citrus flirting with barely ripe apricot, heading toward the peach register though highlighted by lemon curd and lemon zest, pretty citrus elements to brighten it up, even the riper twang of a lime. This has more density, for sure, more richness, though it has plenty of definition. Thinking of these wines in the context of the Rheingau is just crazy; my teeth are aching. The whole collection has acids – I should get the numbers here, if Eva hasn’t already sent them [note to reader: I never got any numbers on the acids b/c I'm just too buried in work right now]. There is a limey quality to this, sticky but fresh, gripping, that I really like. These are very damn good.
Hans-Josef Becker’s grandfather (J.B.) founded this winery in 1893, and it is home to some truly astounding wines. The Spätlese Trocken is somehow both very serious and firmly structured, yet remains bright and affable. The old vines show incredible concentration - this wine is just a baby and could be cellared for decades. On the other hand, the 2022 vintage displays plenty of juicy, expressive fruit with crushing acidity and a bold mouthfeel. These wines have achieved cult-status for good reason.
Joseph Drouhin Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc 2023 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2023
James Suckling 96 Points | The density and balance are so attractive here, with sliced apples, white pineapple and crushed stones. Hints of dried flowers, too, such as white roses and lilacs, as well as almonds. Medium-bodied with focus and subtle strength. Seemingly endless, with a bitter-lemon edge and nice reduction in the aftertaste of gun metal. Drink and enjoy.
Decanter 94 Points | Drouhin's Clos des Mouches 2023 exemplifies the vintage's potential for delicious whites. The wine has lush, forward aromas of Mirabelle plums and quince with hints of marzipan, butter and a suggestion of stylishly smoky reduction. The texture is supple and dense, but the richness is kept in balance and the extract carries the wine to a lingering finish. Parts of the 7ha vineyard have been replanted; the old vines that produce this bottling have delivered a wine of great character.
The Wine Advocate 93-94 Points | The 2023 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Mouches Blanc (Domaine) is another strong performance, delivering aromas of sweet pear, peach and mandarin mingled with buttered toast and mint. Full-bodied, rich and ample, it's layered and unctuous, with a seamless, satiny, textural profile and a long, lusty finish.
The Wine Spectator 92 Points | Stylish and graceful, this white evokes lemon, apple, white flower and honey aromas and flavors. Almost seamless in its texture and balance, with finely meshed acidity providing lift and freshness. Excellent length.
Winemaker Notes
An outstanding wine. Pale yellow color. Complex floral nose of white lilac and white rose. Once open, fruity aromas come to the fore, evolving towards grilled hazelnut and almond. When the wine is more mature, the nose is surprisingly strong and fifteen minutes of aeration produce wonderful notes of white truffle, citron (cedrat), honey and nutmeg, elegantly meshed together. Very lively on the palate. Its rich texture is in evidence, but also its structure and minerality. It is round, but never heavy. Harmonious fullness in the aftertaste. This wine allies remarkably the complexity and elegance of a Bâtard-Montrachet with the power of a Corton-Charlemagne.

#13 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2025
Blend: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot
Expert Reviews
96 James Suckling: The aromas of blackcurrants and dried flowers with fresh herbs like basil and rosemary are extremely attractive. Medium- to full-bodied, this has firm and velvety tannins with a tension and focus that I have not seen for a while. Long and chewy finish.
96 Wine Spectator: This delivers an energetic tumble of blackberry, boysenberry and black currant paste flavors injected with bramble and apple wood and supported by a licorice snap accent. The strapping finish is laced with violet and iris notes, while a cast iron edge lends bass. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2027 through 2045.
95 Jeb DunnucSmoky currants, tobacco leaf, leather, and chocolaty notes all define the 2022 Château Talbot, a sensationally textured, concentrated, medium to full-bodied Saint-Julien. It has plenty of mid-palate depth, ripe, building tannins, beautiful overall balance, and a great finish. Based on 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, raised in 60% new oak, it's one of the all-time greats from this château and will have three decades of longevity.
Graham's 20 Year Tawny Port 750ml

Winemaker Notes
#57 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2025
Amber, golden tawny color. An excellent bouquet, with a characteristic "nutty" character, such as almonds, and delicious mature fruit with hints of orange peel. Rich, sweet and smooth onthe palate, it is perfectly balanced, with a long and lingering finish.
Graham's 20 Year Old Tawny Port pairs extremely well with vanilla ice cream or crème brulee. Serve slightly chilled to appreciate thefull complexity and sensuous pleasure of this wine.
Port is best served in classic Port wine glassware or white wine glasses. Avoid cordial or liqueur glasses as they are too small to fully appreciate the wine's aromas.
Expert Reviews
96 Points Decanter: Tawny Port is always exciting, but if you can afford to splash out, go for a 20 Year Old. All the major houses make wonderful aged tawnies and this is always one of the best. Ethereal and mellow on the palate, it boasts flavours of toffee and caramel, burnt orange and raisins, dried plums, hazelnuts and a savoury hint of mushroom on the finish. Wonderful stuff!
94 James Suckling: Dried cherry, iodine and peat with some watermelon. Hints of toffee and bark. Medium-to full-bodied, sweet and layered with a tannin texture and rich finish. Tangy and focused.
93 Wine & Spirits: Earthy rather than fruity, this is all about umami, its cool cellar tones layering dark mushroom and savory black bean flavors over papaya. It lasts with intriguing complexity that would work with a range of umami-rich foods, like seafood in an XO sauce.
93 Wine Spectator: Plump and inviting, with a burst of red and black cherry compote backed by hazelnut husk, date, green fig and baking spice notes. Generous in feel, but with the underlying zip for balance and focus.
Gabrielskloof Amphora Sauvignon Blanc 2023 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2023
James Suckling 92 Points | Grapefruit, lemongrass and golden apples on the nose, alongside salted almonds. It’s medium-bodied, cool and mineral, with zesty and reductive undertones. Made in clay vessels.
Winemaker Description
The Sauvignon Blanc is part of our Gabriëlskloof Range, together with the Rosebud, Chenin Blanc, The Blend and Syrah. This range offers a selection of boutique-style wines that always over-deliver on quality and value.
A racy, flavoursome vintage showing green pineapple, gooseberries and quince on the nose along with a refreshing salinity from ocean spray and kelp. The palate delivers green citrus, lemongrass and litchi, given an edgy textural linearity from flint and oyster shells.
Chateau Cantenac Brown Margaux 2020 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2020
Vinous 97 Points by Antonio Galloni | The 2020 Cantenac Brown is a knock-out. A Margaux of towering intensity, the 2020 is dense and vertical at the same time. It’s a combination that works so well. Dark cherry, plum, chocolate, new leather, licorice and cloves all saturate the palate. There's real depth and concentration here from the summer heat and small size of the berries, but at the same time the 2020 has more freshness and energy than some recent years. There have been quite a few changes here in recent years, starting with a new parcel on the Margaux plateau that entered the blend in 2019 and move towards lower toast levels in the barrels. Cantenac Brown remains a potent, opulent Margaux, but 2020 has a measure of classicism as well. Superb.
Jeb Dunnuck 96 Points | The 2020 Château Cantenac Brown showed beautifully and is a serious, concentrated, powerful Margaux that's going to need bottle age. Ripe blackcurrants, toasty oak, ripe tobacco, and dried flower notes all define the aromatics, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a layered, balanced mouthfeel, beautiful tannins, and a great finish. It shows the more focused, slightly understated style of the vintage, yet everything is in the right place, it has terrific purity, and it’s just a brilliant Margaux. I followed this bottle for multiple days, and it never put a foot wrong. It will hit its prime drinking window in 7-8 years and evolve for two decades.
The Wine Enthusiast 95 Points | From its magnificent chateau, this estate is powering ahead. The wine is full of dark chocolate flavors and concentrated tannins. A richly structured wine, there is good potential. Drink from 2029.
James Suckling 95 Points | Plenty of blackberry, spice, iron and crushed lead pencil aromas follow through to a full body with chewy, velvety tannins and a rather cool side to it. Crushed stone and slate undertones.
The Wine Advocate 94+ Points A fine follow-up to the excellent 2019, the 2020 Cantenac Brown incorporates newly acquired holdings of Cabernet Sauvignon from the plateau of Margaux. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of cherries, cassis, burning embers and pencil shavings, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with good depth at the core, supple tannins and terrific purity of fruit. Concluding with a long, penetrating finish, it underlines the fact that this is the appellation's fastest-improving estate.
The Wine Spectator 94 Points | Ripe, rounded and suave in feel, with alluring waves of cassis and dark cherry reduction laced with sandalwood, black tea and violet notes. Broad, velvety and perfumed through the finish, with a subtle sanguine hint echoing late. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Decanter 94 Points | Juicy, succulent and supple, this has lovely bright energy and impact straight away. Tannins are on the chalky mineral side, mouthcoating, but with a salty tang so they don't appear too ripe, heavy or rustic, but give width and structure. Feels quite powerful, with an underlying concentration and a tight clove and cedar tang to the tannins. Energetic, definitely more bright and pulsing right now. Purity of fruit is there, as is the acidity.

Expert Reviews - Vintage 2023
JAMES SUCKLING 98 POINTS: Enormously deep and concentrated, but this is so subtle and defies easy description. The superfine tannins give this an incredibly fine texture, the richness building in the finish without adding anything to the impression of weight. From three old-vine grenache vineyards that have limestone, sand and galet soils. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
JEB DUNNUCK 97 POINTS: Black raspberries, ground pepper, white pepper, and sappy floral notes all make an appearance in the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Colombis, another remarkable wine from this family. With medium to full-bodied richness, it's incredibly well-balanced, has ultra-fine tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish. As with the estate’s other cuvées, it reminds me of their 2020. As usual, this cuvée is 100% Grenache that’s from a mix of three parcels (Rayas, Les Roues, and Colombis). It was not destemmed and was brought up in a mix of concrete, foudre, and clay jars.
VINOUS 96 POINTS: The 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Colombis is magnificent, bursting from the glass with prominent rose petal, crushed violets, strawberry compote, spicy licorice, dried herbs and minty shadings. Enveloped in velvety tannins, the perfumed 2023 is shaping up to be a wildly alluring Colombis, closing with a subtle phenolic kick on the focused finish. I can’t wait to taste it from bottle.
THE WINE ADVOCATE 94 POINTS: A pure Grenache Noir planted in the north part of the appellation and vinified with 30% whole bunches, the 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Colombis has turned out beautifully. Evoking aromas of rose, dark cherries, spices and dark berries, it’s medium- to full-bodied, seamless and satiny with a beautifully ethereal finish.
Domaine De La Romanee Conti Romanee St. Vivant Grand Cru Biodynamic 2022 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
Vinous 100 Points | The 2022 Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru is a real head-turner. What a wine! As is so often the case, Romanée St. Vivant is not an obvious wine, rather it is a Burgundy of detail, of understatement, of total class. The aromatics alone are mesmerizing. Silky tannins wrap around a core of red-toned fruit, mint, white pepper, blood orange and exotic spice.
Decanter 97 Points | The Romanée-St-Vivant has developed more complexity since bottling, with a savoury, almost gamey edge to the lush berry fruit aromas and a hint of spice. The grip and freshness of the wine are impressive and seem to carry this wine to a new level of intensity. Although this wine had originally seemed ethereal and silky, the substantial nature of the structure is now evident, aided perhaps by the stricter selection. Bertrand de Villaine confirms that two parcels in this vineyard were pulled up due to issues with the rootstock, leaving them 23,699 bottles in 2022.
The Wine Spectator 97 Points | Shy, suggesting cherry, strawberry and spice flavors. Nonetheless, there is plenty of structure and length.
Chateau Meyre Margaux 2020 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2020
James Suckling 91 Points | A juicy and savory red with crushed berries, cherries and spices. Medium to full body. Chewy and medium tannins and a savory finish. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but better in a year or two.
Gamet Champagne La Vallee Suspendue Extra Brut Reserve Perpetuelle NV 750ml
Expert Reviews
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Points | Medium golden yellow hue, the NV Champagne La Vallée Suspendue Extra Brut is expressive on the nose and leaps from the glass with rounded aromas of lemon curd, merengue, pastry dough, marzipan, and red berries. It has more intensity on the palate, becoming more savory and salty, with a brothy feel, a fluffy mousse, and a chalky, textured finish. This is a solid wine with a lot of character to enjoy over the coming 10 years.
Vinous 93 Points | The NV (2016) Extra Brut La Vallée Suspendue is a blend of 80% Meunier, 15% Pinot Noir and 5% Chardonnay, based on 2016 with 50% reserve wines from a perpetual reserve that goes back to 1999. Those elements combine in a rich, resonant Champagne that is incredibly distinctive. Dried pear, spice, tangerine oil and exotic yellow flowers all build in the glass, but it is the wine's overall balance I admire most. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. Disgorged: June 2023.
Gaston Chiquet Blanc de Blancs d'Ay Grand Cru Brut Champagne 750ml
Expert Reviews
The Wine Advocate 92 Points | Disgorged in January 2019, the latest release of Gaston Chiquet's NV Brut Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs d'Aÿ is showing beautifully, opening in the glass with scents of crisp yellow orchard fruit, white flowers, blanched almonds and fresh peach. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, bright and charming, with a succulent core of fruit, a delicate pinpoint mousse and a nicely defined finish. Elegant and expressive, this is a beautifully balanced Blanc de Blancs that would make for a perfect aperitif.
Jeb Dunnuck 90 Points | The base vintage of the NV Champagne Blanc De Blancs D'Ay Grand Cru Brut is from 2019, and it spent 4 years on the lees. A robust style of Blanc de Blancs, it’s assertive with notes of ripe pineapple, preserved lemon, honeycomb, and fresh walnut. Flesh and full-bodied, it has a soft, pillowy mousse, a persistent core of acidity, and a powerful drive through the finish. It will need some age to improve, as its tertiary notes should start to integrate and harmonize, rounding out its muscular personality.
