Vietti Barbera d'Alba VIGNA SCARRONE Organic 2022 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2022
Wine Advocate 94+ Points | This was a good year for Barbera, a grape that has a shorter growing season compared to Nebbiolo and that generally likes the heat. The Vietti 2022 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Scarrone offers a deep, rich color, sweet tannins and bold fruit flavors from vines that were planted in 1989. Scarrone fruit always has a point of freshness because these vines are positioned on the east-facing slope, whereas the Vigna Vecchia occupy the south-facing part of the hill. The wine ages in oak for 16 months, with 10 months in barrique and six months in bottle.
Vinous 94 Points | The 2022 Barbera d'Alba Vigna Scarrone is a classy, elegant wine. Today's Scarrone marries finesse and power with notable style. Racy dark red plum, mocha, new leather, licorice and spice are all beautifully delineated. This deep, classy Barbera is lights out.
Winemaker Description
Ruby purple color with intense aromas of ripe red and black cherries. With refreshing acidity, rich tannins, full body, the single vineyard Scarrone has finesse, excellent balance, great complexity, integration and a long lingering finish.
Pair with earty stews, seasoned pasta and poultry with rich sauces, game, roasted red meats and sharp cheese.

Dragonette Pinot Noir Radian Vineyard 2018 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2018
The Wine Enthusiast 97 Points | This is an incredibly dynamic, complex and yet utterly delicious bottling. Aromas of roasted cherry, iodine, iron, bay leaf, sage and mushroomy meats envelop the nose. The palate is rich in texture and flavors yet fierce with acidity, combining opulent berries, toasted sage and gamy meats into a head-spinning sip.
Jeb Dunnuck 95 Points | One of the darker hued wines in the lineup, the 2018 Pinot Noir Radian Vineyard is tighter and more wound up, with a laser-like sense of precision in its white pepper, crushed stone, and tart stone and black raspberry fruits. The purity of fruit here is top notch, as is the overall balance, and this medium-bodied 2018 is going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and cruise for a decade.
Vinous 94 Points | The 2018 Pinot Noir Radian Vineyard is a dense, savory wine that captures the essence of this marginal, cold-climate site. All of the power and energy is directed inward in this decidedly intense, searing wine. Crushed rose petal, bright red/purplish fruit, chalk, dried herbs and floral notes linger. I can't wait to see how this ages.

Alfred Gratien Champagne Rose 750ml
Expert Review
Sunset-pink in the glass, this vivacious blend of 45% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir, and 35% Pinot Meunier kicks off with scents of brioche, red currant, and Rome apple plus flashes of honey and white flowers. Cascading from a font of ripe acidity are fleshy flavors of nec- tarine and red plum as well as mandarin orange; an underlying stoniness reveals itself before a long finish of almond and orange rind. Tasting Panel 94 Points |
James Suckling 93 Points | This is a fruitier rosé. Dry and layered with nice phenols, yet it’s lively. Full-bodied, creamy and relatively dry at the end. Not heavy, but agile. 46% chardonnay 20% pinot noir and 34% pinot meunier. Drink or hold.
Winemaker Description
The robe is reminiscent of rose petals. The healthy effervescence builds to an attractive mousse. The initial aroma is fruity (strawberries and redcurrants) and floral (peonies). Wheat, biscuit and crème fraiche notes are detectable, as are hints of more roasted flavors. The initial taste is clean, and then opens up to a pleasant structured quality. There is real harmony to this wine, bolstered by fine acidity, light tannin notes and discrete sweetness. Because it sparkles enthusiastically, the texture goes from 'gentle' to 'firm' and back again. It is long and the finish is slightly smoky with mineral notes.

Alfred Gratien Champagne Classic Brut NV 750ml
Expert Reviews
James Suckling 93 Points |This is a fantastic NV Champagne with a fine, creamy texture of small barrels and a deep, layered palate with dried apple, hints of pie crust and bread dough. Tangy. Layered and powerful, yet fresh. Lovely Brut Champagne. Based on 2015. Chardonnay 50% pinot noir 25% and 25% pinot meunier
Wine Spectator 93 Points | Delicate hints of verbena and spice notes of ground anise and cardamom accent rich flavors of ripe yellow peach and raspberry fruit, with notes of chopped hazelnut, pickled ginger and preserved lemon. Firmed by chiseled acidity, this is finely meshed and mouthwatering, with a satiny mousse and creamy finish. Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir.
Winemaker Description
The nose is moderately intense yet complex. The sweet pastry, biscuit and orchard fruit notes are followed and enhanced by hints of citrus, white flowers and fresh butter. The initial taste is clean: this is a very silky and sparkling wine whose sugar content works well with its body. There is a certain chalky minerality and the texture is smooth. It is characterful without being overbearing. The finish is crisp, with a slight mineral undertone, and long at 6 to 8 seconds. It leaves an excellently balanced acidic aftertaste, with a sugar component that is undeniably pleasing on the palate.

Sella & Mosca Marchese di Villamarina 2013 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2013
The Wine Advocate 93 Points | The 2013 Alghero Marchese di Villamarina is a pricey wine but it is also an ambitious one. This pure expression of Cabernet Sauvignon was one of the first wines to put Sardinia on the world wine map. It is a symbol of the soaring aspiration of island viticulture in a modern context (remember, archaeological traces of the Mediterranean's oldest wines were found here). The wine possesses a dark and richly concentrated appearance with lingering aromas of dark fruit, spice and black olive. The mouthfeel is dense and compact with a dry, mineral-driven finish. This is a great wine from a classic vintage.
James Suckling 91 Points | Blackberry, dried-blueberry, dried-herb, earth and some smoked-meat aromas. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, well integrated tannins. Savory and flavorful finish. Drink or hold.
The Wine Spectator 91 Points | Featuring trim tannins, a delicate herbal overtone and a tangy, minerally underpinning, this elegant, medium- to full-bodied red displays a more traditional side, while pure notes of ripe black currant, spice box, citrus and pomegranate provide harmony and pleasure. Drink now through 2025.
Winemaker Description
Rich, majestic red in color. On the nose, intense and mellow with remarkable red fruit fragrances. The palate demonstrates classic flavors of Cabernet with accents of vanilla, black currant, soft grained tannins with a lingering finish.
A match for top quality steaks, red meats, and game.

Felton Road Pinot Noir CORNISH POINT Biodynamic Organic 2018 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2018
James Suckling 93 Points | Aromas of fresh red cherries and some rose-like florals, in an upbeat, fruit-driven style. A very concentrated and ripe array of brambly raspberries and red cherries with smooth tannins, delivering a web of fresh-fruit flavor. Succulent and spicy, oak-tinged finish.
The Wine Advocate 92 Points | Normally a bit darker in fruit tone than the blended bottling, the 2018 Cornish Point Pinot Noir features black cherries and a hint of licorice, plus some vaguely floral notions. It's medium to full-bodied, with supple tannins and just a bit of chocolate on the finish, reflecting the warmth of the vintage.
The Wine Enthusiast 91 Points | This Pinot, from a low lying vineyard almost completely surrounded by water, is simultaneously the most reductive, floral and fruity of this renowned biodynamic producer's lineup. The reduction gives a salty edge but it doesn't overpower the plump cherry and plum fruit or rose petal aromas. The palate is nicely textured with a solid line of acidity that buoys the plush fruit and flows to a long cocktail bitters finish. While this lacks the vibrancy and elegance of some of FR's other single-site wines, it's nevertheless an appealing drop.

Cristom LOUISE VINEYARD Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2017 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2017
James Suckling 95 Points | This cuvée has a very energetic and intense feel with a wealth of fresh and attractive red cherries and raspberries, plenty of florals and subtle herbal, forest-wood and light-chocolate notes. There’s a very keenly articulated feel to the palate with a plush, very fleshy and assertively long, detailed finish. Deep fruit presence here. Drink across the next decade."
Vinous 93 Points | Vivid red. Expansive aromas of ripe red berries, candied flowers and baking spices, with a smoky mineral topnote that gains strength as the wine opens up. Coats the palate with appealing sweet raspberry and cherry liqueur flavors that tighten up and become spicier on the back half. Shows excellent clarity and floral lift on an impressively long finish that's shaped by fine-grained, even tannins.

Clarendon Hills Grenache Hickinbotham 750ml

Gramercy Cellars Mourvedre L'Idiot du Village 2020 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2020
Michael Alberty of The Wine Enhusiast writes 94 Points | Caffè latte, cranberry and lilac aromas make for a heck of an introduction. Then comes the wave of blackberry, rosemary, tarragon and English breakfast tea flavors—delicious. This wine features the sturdiest tannins this side of a tannery, so be prepared to offer it a little air. Enjoy now until 2034.

Justin SAVANT Cabernet - Syrah Blend 2019 750ml
Winemaker Description
Bright, deep purple-ruby core, lighter at the rim with moderate slightly stained tears on the glass. Robust aromas of boysenberry, black cherry, plums with dried herbs, black pepper, baking spice, leather, camphor and oak.
Full-bodied, with ripe blackberry, pluot, and mixed cherries with cinnamon, black pepper, and tanned leather on the entry. Robustly textured tannins lead to a mid-palate featuring smoked tea leaves and savory meats. The long and balanced finish is dominated by the lasting flavors of dried cranberry, camphor and baking spices.

Renato Ratti Barolo Marcenasco 2020 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2020
Wine Spectator 92 Points | A beam of cherry and red currant courses through this racy red, revealing flashes of rose and wild herbs, with a mineral underpinning. This is persistent, with a long aftertaste that emphasizes the pure fruit. Best from 2026 through 2042.
Decanter 92 Points | Ripe black and red berry fruit, baked plum, and hints of tea leaf. Robust and rich, open, grainy tannins frame the fruit, and the finish has nice juice and length. Shows real charm!

Pazo de La Cuesta Ribeira Sacra Garnacha Tintorera Prephilloxera 2021 750ml
Winemaker Description
2021 | Garnacha Tintorera Prefiloxérica
Grapes from pre-phylloxera vineyards planted in 1860 on ungrafted vines. Two micro plots of 4,000 m2 and 2,000 m2, on the banks of the Sil River that thanks to the natural barriers and strength of this variety reached today’s times.
GRAPE VARIETY: 100% Garnacha Tintorera from pre-phylloxera vineyards planted in 1860 on ungrafted vines.
CATEGORY: Matured red wine
Optimal weather conditions had a positive influence on the quality of the grapes. The cool, slightly humid spring favored vigorous bud break and uneventful fruit set. The summer was characterized by sunny days and cool nights, which allowed a gradual and balanced ripening of the grapes. The harvest, carried out in the last week of September, took place under dry and stable weather conditions, ensuring that the grapes were harvested at the peak of ripeness, with excellent concentration of flavors.
Harvest by hand with fruit selection in the vineyard. Destemming and pre-fermentation maceration for 4 days. Foot of vat with neutral yeast support. Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks below 20ºC and subsequent spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Aged for 8 months in French oak barrels: one 500-liter and two 300-liter medium toast barrels. Bottled in July 2023.
In visual phase high layer, with cherry red hues. On the nose, red fruits stand out with subtle floral notes and the complexity provided by the barrel aging. The palate is sweet, yet fresh, with good acidity. Long and persistent.

Pazo de La Cuesta Ribeira Sacra Batanero 2022 750ml
Winemaker Description
Elegant red with a medium-high depth, slow, regular teardrops, and purple nuances. Deep nose of red and stone fruits (cherry, blackcurrant), compotes, fermentation notes, and sweet notes of wood and toasted aromas. Very direct attack, where freshness and the passage of time prevail. Aromatic nuances emerge at retronasal, calling for another sip to recall them.

Ruinart Champagne Brut Blanc De Blancs 375ml HALF BOTTLE
Expert Reviews
Wine Advocate 90 Points | The latest rendition of Ruinart's NV Blanc de Blancs unwinds in the glass with scents of citrus zest, green apple, white flowers and fresh bread. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and incisive, with a vibrant core of fruit and brisk acids, complemented by a mouth-filling mousse, it concludes with a saline finish.
James Suckling 93 Points | A vibrant and refreshing Champagne with a bright, enticing nose of lemon (fresh and candied) and sliced pear, as well as some floral and passion-fruit notes. Lovely balance of juicy fruit and acidity that dances nimbly across the palate. A biscuit note from lees lies in the background. Delicate, silky and finish. A blend of wines from Côtes des Blanc, Montagne de Reims and Sézanne. Drink or hold.
Wine Spectator 93 Points | Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator: "Steeped apricot and candied ginger flavors are an aromatic entry for this graceful Champagne, backed by finely cut acidity and layered with accents of kumquat, toast point and salted Marcona almond. It's fresh and racy, yet there's an effortless quality to the integration that makes this hard to stop sipping. Long, minerally finish. Drink now through 2027.

Huet Vouvray Clos du Bourg Sec Biodynamic 2023 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2023
John Gillman 94 Points | Domaine Huët’s 2023 Clos du Bourg Sec bottling is also excellent. The wine is deep, complex and beautifully focused on the nose, wafting from the glass in a mix of quince, apple, a touch of pink grapefruit, complex, chalky soil tones, lanolin, beeswax and a topnote of gently musky white flowers. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and shows a bit more mid-palate weight than the Le Haut Lieu and Le Mont Sec bottlings in 2023, with sound acids, excellent balance and grip and fine lift on the long and complex finish. It will not be criminal to open a bottle or two of the Clos du Bourg Sec 2023 in its early days, but if one buys a case, make sure to tuck at least nine of the bottles away for the long haul.
The Wine Spectator 93 Points | Alluring and aromatic this seduces with honeysuckle quince and orchard fruit wrapped in salty leesy notes on the palate with a hint of toast. Salty density builds toward the finish with bitter mineral notes bringing balance along with the tangy mouthwatering acidity. Hints of garlic scape and alpine herbs make for a fresh clean finish. Built to last. Drink now through 2037. 1350 cases made.
James Suckling 93 Points | The aromas of floral honey, cashew nuts and butter are married to a brioche character reminiscent of good Champagne, but this is completely still. On the medium-bodied palate, the interplay of honeyed creaminess and elegant acidity is enchanting, the wine gliding over your palate. Long, supple finish. From biodynamically grown grapes.

Domaine Faiveley Mercurey Rouge La Framboisiere 2022 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
James Suckling 91 Points | What a joyful red Burgundy. Full black and red raspberry fruit. Juicy and mouth-filling in spite of the lightness of touch, due to the lively acidity. Gentle tannins underline this beautifully. Fresh and lively finish. From an 11-hectare monopole site. From organically grown grapes. Vinified with 20% whole cluster and 30% new oak. Drink or hold.
The Wine Advocate 90 Points | On my recent visit, I also took the opportunity to taste Faiveley's emblematic 2022 Mercurey La Framboisière, a rich and supple wine evocative of raspberries, plums and spices. Medium to full-bodied, deep and enveloping, with, as I wrote of its 2019 predecessor, all the charm but less of the frivolity that this cuvée has historically displayed. Jérôme Flous and his team have produced another compelling range of 2022s, and it's hardly surprising, given the high level of vineyard management chez Faiveley or the skill and precision brought to bear in the winery and the cellar. As is often the case up and down the Côte d'Or, the style is more delicate and sensual than was the case in 2020, and the wines seem set to offer broad drinking windows.
Allen Meadows of Burghound writes | A monopole of Domaine Faiveley. A ripe and very fresh nose speaks of crushed cherry, dark raspberry and a spicy top note. The vibrant and delicious middleweight flavors possess good volume, indeed the word fleshy comes to mind, all wrapped in a clean, dry-in-the-best sense, and lingering finish. This is already drinking well though it has the density to repay mid-term keeping. This is one to look for as it offers fine value.

La Ganghija Barbaresco 2018 750ml
Our Professional Review
Bart Hopkins of 67Wine.com | Good varietal expression in this 2018 Barbaresco, with delicate aromas of spiced plums, rose petals, violets, strawberry blossoms, cinnamon, nutmeg and saddle leather. Medium bodied in the mouth with savory complexity and supple tannins that carry through the finish. A perfect wine for stews and slow roasted wild game, as well as hearty pasta and strong cheese.
Expert Review - 2018
Wine Enthusiast 92 Points | Penetrating aromas of warmed cherries soaked with cinnamon, clove and anise that develop into dried rose petals, forest floor. The palate has a core of savory spice wrapped around drying wild red berries and Alpine herbs framed by well-placed tannins and electric acidity. A wine worthy of the cellar. Drink now–2040.

Bodegas Hidalgo La Gitana Wellington Palo Cortado VOS 20yrs Jerez-Xeres-Sherry 500 ml
Producer Description
Palo Cortado is unusual, in that it first ages under a film of yeast ‘flor’ which protects it from oxygen, but unexpectedly loses its flor and ultimately ages oxidatively. Only 1-2% of all sherries produced ultimately become a Palo Cortado. Thus, the freshness of Manzanilla and Oloroso and the complexity of dry Amontillado are combined. When aged over twenty years it is entitled to the designation VOS (Very Old Sherry). This sherry was once sold to British troops under the name ‘Wellington’, and the 1st Duke of Wellington’s portrait is still used on the label today.
The palate is full rich and rounded. A very light amber color given its advanced age, and a bouquet that demands attention. Delicate and pure on the nose. Penetrating aromas, nutty yet with tangy freshness. Completely dry, but notes of butterscotch and walnuts. A clean, racy style, with almond and hazelnut husk notes backed by toasted corn, walnut and singed sandalwood accents. A touch of dried persimmon echoes on the very dry finish. One of the great dry sherries. 17.5% ABV.

Fernando de Castilla Antique Amontillado Jerez-Xeres-Sherry 500ml HALF BOTTLE
Winemaker Description
The Antique Amontillado comes from a very old Fino (8 yrs old) which is refortified from 15.5% to 18.0% ABV and introduced into a solera of Amontillado where it spends a further 12 years.
Light ambar color. Exceptionally aromatic, completely dry and long aftertaste.
Expert Reviews
Robert Parker | The NV Antique Amontillado is amber-colored and has a subtle nose of tobacco, some iodine, pollen, beeswax and hazelnuts. The medium- to full-bodied palate shows lots of concentration and acidity, with a very intense finish. 4,000 bottles are produced yearly.
Wine Spectator | A dry, nervy style, offering balsam wood, clove, dried orange peel and Brazil nut notes that weave together through the lacy finish. Shows range, but stays delicate in feel overall.

Romate Reserva Especial Regente Palo Cortado Jerez-Xeres-Sherry 750ml
Expert Review
Wine Spectator 89 Points | There's a richness here offsetting the firm structure, but the iodine and roasted walnut notes shine on the finish. Caramel, burnt molasses and tobacco round out the flavor spectrum. Drink now. 1,750 cases made.
Winemaker Description
Mahogany colour with iodine tinged edges. Strong and nutty, with hints of varnish, caramel and vanilla. Very dry, well-rounded structure, with faint hints of saline, a slightly bitter and long- lasting finish.

Domaine Lumineux Cuvee Pinot Noir 2021 750ml
Winemaker Description
The 2021 Cuvée brings together a variety of Pinot Noir blocks from the 42-acre Domaine Lumineux vineyard, showcasing the full spectrum of the estate. Heavy rains in the early summer of 2021 impacted pollination in the vineyard and resulted in a very light fruit crop. This was followed by record setting heat and extreme dry conditions throughout the summer, which proved to be beneficial for optimal grape ripening. The combination of low yield and ample warmth produced wines of exceptional balance, intensity, and grace in the Willamette Valley. This ideal harvest yielded outstanding Pinot Noir fruit that came together harmoniously in this blend.
A select blend of our distinct pinot noir clones, the 2021 Cuvée is a multidimensional, harmonious, expression of the Domaine Lumineux Dundee Hills vineyard. This wine exhibits opulent aromas of spice, featuring hints of anise, nutmeg, and earthy forest floor. The savory palate is accompanied by concentrated red fruit notes, intermingled with dried fig. The 2021 Cuvée boasts a complex structure, with intriguing notes of black pepper lending an alluring mouthfeel and a prolonged finish.

Abadia Retuerta Vino de Pago Le Domaine Blanc Sauvignon Blanc Verdejo Blend 2022 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
The Wine Advocate 93 Points | The balsamic white 2022 Le Domaine is herbal and spicy, keeping the freshness but reflecting the weather conditions, dry and warm. It has 13.8% alcohol and comes through as a powerful white that should age nicely in bottle. It's an unusual blend of 86% Sauvignon Blanc and 14% Verdejo, a little à la Bordeaux. It was bottled in June 2023. It finished fermenting in barrel, where it matured with the lees for seven months.
Winemaker Description
A clean and bright wine. Fragrant at first, with aromas of white flowers, elder and acacia. It also has refreshing notes of ginger, and citric hints of mandarin, grapefruit and lime. When poured, hints of stone fruit come through, such as apricot and nectarine, along with mature fruits like melon. Persistent, long, creamy and unctuous. It has a fresh and well-integrated acidity, almost crystalline, ensuring that this is a highly age-worthy wine.

Chateau D'Arche Sauternes 2009 375ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2009
The Wine Enthusiast 92 Points | Strong botrytis, very rich, totally honeyed. This is a powerful wine, very straight in its style, packed with the sweetest apricot jam.

Ventolaio Brunello di Montalcino 2019 750ml
Our Professional Review
Bart of 67Wine.com writes | Ventolaio’s 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is a wine of exceptional quality, made exclusively of the Sangiovese Grosso grape. Intense ruby red in color with complex aromas of cherries, red plums, dark chocolate, cappuccino, tobacco, vanilla and savory spice. Full bodied yet elegantly structured, with rich fruit and robust tannins on the hearty finish. A complex red that can easily accompany the best of Tuscan cooking. Pair it with rich, flavorful meals such as pasta, red meat, aged cheeses and wild game.
Expert Review - Vintage 2019
Danielle Callegari of the Wine Enthusiast writes 93 Points | The nose is savory and smoky, with aromas of fresh tar, hot coffee and pepper, plus a touch of sweet cherry tomato for balance. That fruit note stays simultaneously sweet, vegetal and earthy on the palate, even as undertones of bitter earth create a restrained overall feel.

Girolamo Russo Feudo Etna Rosso 2019 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2019
James Suckling 94 Points | Amazing concentration of clean red fruit and soil here, together with tangy wild herbs and something citrus. You can almost smell the volcano! Medium-to full-bodied with a dense core of fruit and quite challenging tannins for now. Give it a year to even out, but this is the muscular cousin of the Russo family. Try from 2023.
Vinous 92+ Points | The 2019 Etna Rosso Feudo is dark and dusty in the glass, with an alluring blend of dried roses, crushed rocks and red plums. This is round and juicy, without a hard edge in sight, showing gorgeous ripe raspberry and cherry excited by a twang of sour citrus. It finishes lightly structured yet full of tension, leaving a cheek puckering sensation and the mouth watering for more. Give this zesty Etna Rosso some time to open aromatically in the glass.

Banfi Brunello de Montalcino 2019 750ml
Expert Reviews - Vintage 2019
James Suckling 95 Points | A beautiful red with cedar, mushroom and cherry character, as well as hints of sandalwood. It’s medium-bodied and very polished with loveliness and finesse that comes through clearly. A wine to drink young, but will age very nicely.
Wine Spectator 94 Points | A refined and generous Brunello, exhibiting plum, cherry, strawberry and even floral flavors. This strives for elegance, achieving it with harmony and a line of fine-grained tannins on the lingering finish. There's ample fruit midpalate that resonates on the mineral finish.
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Points | A rich red hue, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino is a touch shy on opening before revealing aromas of cherry pie, a hint of blue fruit coming through with violets, and anise. Medium to full-bodied, it has a pop of angular texture, chalky tannins, and a clean, lovely, tapered finish. This exceptional wine from Banfi offers a lot of purity and finesse.
Winemaker Description
A rich and elegant Brunello, both in structure and in olfactory expression. Brilliant ruby red with garnet-colored reflections, on the nose the aroma is sweet and fruity, the hints of fresh red fruit stand out, which combine perfectly with the more complex notes of licorice and pipe tobacco. The structure is powerful, and the palate is pleasantly enveloped by a consistent tannic texture, well balanced by a pleasant acidity. Extremely persistent with excellent aging potential.
It pairs particularly well with rich and tasty dishes. Perfect as a meditation wine.

Cusumano SAGANA Tenuta San Giacomo Nero d'Avola Sicilia 2019 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2019
Decanter 93 Points | This single-vineyard Nero d'Avola, from Cusumano's Tenuta San Giacomo estate located on the limestone outcrop of Butera in southern Sicily, is a big wine. It hits 15% alcohol and is aged for 18 months in large casks, yet there is freshness and great mid-palate tension, allied to structural tannins. Aromatic black cherry aromas and flavours accompany intense dark chocolate, spices and herbs.
Danielle Callegari of the WIne Enthusiast writes 88 Points | Hot chili peppers burst off the nose of this Nero d'Avola, lifted by wood smoke, macerated blackberries and bitter chocolate. Spiciness carries over to the palate, with notes of black pepper and tomato-pepper jam, but also more berries and some tobacco leaf. Tannins are firm but polished.
