Lovely dark fruit aromas waft from the glass with notes of spice and eucalyptus. Blackberry, raspberry and boysenberry flavors are accentuated by hints of vanilla, espresso and baker’s chocolate. The finish is round and supple.

The village of Lugny is located high up in the south of the Mâcon region. It has a great reputation for its white wines, which has made Mâcon famous. It is well known that the village of Lugny, with its limestone soils and warm climate, produces the most coveted white wines of the region. The vineyard of "Les Genièvres" is one of the best. Maison Louis Latour selects the best grapes of this village, which thanks to its terroir, was the only village planted with Chardonnay 30 years ago.

Louis Latour Mâcon-Lugny "Les Genièvres" 2023 is pale yellow in color. Its intense nose reveals aromas of muscatel and brioche. Ample and round on the palate, this wine offers aromas of yellow peach. Nice length.

The Wine Advocate 92 Points | The varietal 2023 Garnacha was produced with grapes from different villages of Navarra—Corella, Cintruénigo, Fitero and Lerga—so, it's a regional wine from grapes picked early. Fermented with 20% full clusters, then it was bottled early and unoaked. It has a bright ruby color and an expressive varietal nose, berries, flowers and herbs, with contained ripeness, 13.68% alcohol, a pH of 3.48 and 5.4 grams of acidity. It's fruit-driven and fresh, juicy, tasty and with a tender texture, very easy to drink and an incredible bargain. 155,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in February 2024. (LG)

The 2022 Rosso di Montalcino is sturdy, robust Sangiovese with a terrific aroma of blackberries and strawberries that mingle with savory spices and earthy botanicals. In the mouth the tannins provide good grip and structure with juicy intensity and a generous finish. A hearty, satisfying red that easily complements pizza, pasta, meat and sturdy vegetable dishes such as eggplant parmigiana or beans and greens.

90 Points Vinous | The 2020 Merlot Grand Estates is darkly floral and earthy with hints of animal musk and crushed blackberries. This is an excellent entry to the "value category" of Washington State Merlot.

It is a medium-bodied style that's tender and supple from three types of chalky soil in the appellation. The clay-chalk portion of the soil brings volume and body, while the chalkiest soils provide some gentle tension. A spritz hint brings much-needed tension in this gentle acidity year. This is a step up from most 2023s in this high-yielding year.  Drinking 2024 to 2028.

“Piluna” translates into “pot of clay” or an ancient container used to store water or wine.
Terroir: This 100% Primitivo is grown from vineyards surrounding the ancient Castello Monaci estate. Soils are a blend of dry clay, volcanic gravel and limestone. Vines are forced deep in search of water, leading to low yields and rich, fragrant wines.

Vinification: Harvest is done by hand prior to dawn to preserve sugar levels and avoid the hot sunlight. The grapes are vinified in small stainless steel tanks prior to 6 months of aging in 75% stainless steel and 25% 2nd and 3rd use French oak. 300,000 bottles produced.

Winemaker Description

The ruby red color with garnet hues, translucent and brilliant, announces bright, mature and refined aromas. The fresh scent of violet is perfectly integrated by notes of jam, plums, blackcurrants and oriental spices. The palate is solid, wellstructured and warm in its embrace, but always well-balanced, thanks also to fresh bursts of balsam and medicinal herbs and berries. 91 Points Wine Advocate | Soalheiro's Alvarinho is a classical wine that made them famous and was first produced at the property in 1982. The 2023 Alvarinho was varietal, as it tends to be the first five years of its life: aromatic, clean and fresh, with moderate ripeness, 12.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.26 and 6.2 grams of acidity—parameters of freshness and balance. It's a bit shy, floral and insinuating, feeling a little reductive at first. This comes from vines up to 200 meters above sea level, on richer soils. The full clusters were pressed, the must fermented in stainless steel without malolactic fermentation and kept with lees for two months.

Wine Spectator 90 Points | Bright, buoyant acidity supports a pretty mix of ripe nectarine, Gala apple, blood orange pith and almond blossoms in this lithe, light-bodied white, with a salty undertow. Drink now. 25,000 cases made, 600 cases imported.

Cornelius Dwyer Kane (aka Keane) (1839-1891) had been a law clerk and cener from Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland. Transported aboard the Hougoumont, Kane was conditionally pardoned in 1871, but was forbidden from returning to Ireland, so he never
reunited with his wife and children there. He did, however, settle in Queensland and became a civil servantny.

Jeb Dunnuck 91 Points |  With a youthful transparent red hue, the 2022 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley is perfumed out of the gate with notes of fresh red cherries, sweet herbs, wet stone, and a hint of purple flowers shining through. Approachable and medium-bodied, it has a delicate, savory, juicy feel, with fine tannins and a light, earthy note of beetroot on the finish. This is a very charming wine to drink over the next few years.

The wine has a lovely shimmer with a pretty golden color with green reflections. The rich and complex nose is characterized by pleasant and subtle floral and mineral aromas. It has a wonderful structure in the mouth with minerality, and charming chardonnay-typical aromas. It is a harmonious wine that is not only fine and elegant, but also has an excellent aromatic persistence.

Maison Louis Latour, in keeping with its tradition of excellent quality, purchases grapes from competent growers with holdings in the most esteemed vineyards in the Mâcon-Villages zone. The wine is bottled during the following spring at 'Clos Chameroy' in the outskirts of Beaune. The Mâcon-Villages "Chameroy" represents the epitome of classical white Burgundy reflecting the fusion between the noble Chardonnay grape and the calciferous terrain of the Mâcon area. It possesses a fresh, creamy bouquet which enlivens the palate with suave, billowing flavor.

An equally fresh if less spicy nose freely offers up its aromas of apple, pear, white flower and a touch of orange peel. Deidesheimer Herrgottsacker is a single vineyard site with a size of 121 hectares. 10% of the vineyard site is steep, 20% hilly and 70% are flat. The soil varies between sandy loam and loamy sand, mixed with limestone rocks and red sandstone. The name “Herrgottsacker” is probably derived from the word “Gottesacker” (which is a former word for cementery) andThis interpretation from Kimich, a small, traditional, 8th generation estate, is an absurd value in the liter bottle (33% more wine)!
