Winemaker Description 

Lindeman's Bin 50 Shiraz is a vibrant and bold Australian red wine. It showcases rich flavors of ripe blackberries, plums, and cherries, complemented by a touch of spice and subtle oak. The wine has a full-bodied texture with smooth tannins, offering a well-rounded finish. Its bold profile makes it a great pairing for barbecued meats, hearty stews, or dishes with rich flavors like grilled sausages or spicy curries. It's an excellent choice for both casual dinners and more sophisticated meals

When casual wine drinkers think of Australian wine, they probably think of the critter-laden labels of Yellow Tail and The Little Penguin, among others. And while large wine companies dominate the Australian list, there are also a great number of smaller producers creating highly-rated, award-winning wines.

The majority of Australian wine is produced in South Australia, with most of that (those “critter wines”) carrying a South Eastern Australia appellation. Subregions such as Barossa Valley, Coonawarra and McLaren Vale are home to smaller producers and higher quality wines. Victoria and New South Wales are also significant regions, and wines from Western Australia are reaching America in increasing numbers.

Though Shiraz is the grape most associated with Australia, they’ve also had great success with Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Riesling and Grenache.

Winemaker Description 

Our bright, medium-bodied and food-friendly William Hill Estate North Coast Chardonnay offers ripe fruit flavors of ripe melon, mandarin orange, peach and tropical fruit, supported by complex notes of citrus blossom and brown spice. Delicately structured and smooth, this refreshing, well-balanced wine has a crisp acidity and soft, creamy mouthfeel.

Our Professional Review 

I’m thrilled to kick off 2025 by introducing my latest project: 67 Wine Somm Series Petit Moscato 2024.Once again, I’ve drawn inspiration from the vibrant and dynamic wine culture of NYC! The label design aligns seamlessly with the rest of our 67 Wine Petit Somm Series, maintaining a consistent and stylish aesthetic. Moscato is one of the most popular wine categories in New York, and my goal was to craft a wine that pairs an elegant label with authentic, high-quality juice.

Tasting Notes:

The wine presents a pale lemon-yellow hue with bright highlights. On the nose, it is intensely aromatic, as Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains is renowned for its fragrant character. The palate is lively, offering sweet, fresh fruit flavors of orange, honeydew melon, and peach. A subtle sweetness transitions beautifully into a finish accented with delicate notes of white blossom flowers.

In my view, this Moscato pairs perfectly with spicy Szechuan cuisine, Japanese and Indian dishes, tapas-style appetizers, blue cheeses, and chicken liver pâté.

Winemaker Description 

Honoro Vera Organic Monastrell is an expressive red wine from the Jumilla region in Spain, produced with respect for organic farming principles. This wine is characterized by its deep, inky color and robust flavors of dark fruits, plum, and blackberries, harmoniously interlaced with nuances of spices, herbs, and a hint of chocolate.

The wine's depth is complemented by its medium to full-bodied nature, smooth tannins, and balanced acidity, making it highly approachable yet complex.

Its lingering finish further enhances the overall drinking experience. Honoro Vera Organic Monastrell pairs excellently with red meats, rich sauces, and strong cheeses.

A blend of certified organic 55% Grenache, 40% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre. Complex aromas of red and black berries, revealing an elegant wine, deep with silky tannins. 

Expert Review - Vintage 2021

The Wine Enthusiast 90 Points | Lemon peel, lychee and wet-rock aromas converge on the nose of this wine. The palate lands with clean, brisk energy, offering flavors of lime peel with rounded, ripe melon.

Hahn SLH Chardonnay greets the nose with citrus, stone fruit and hints of banana and vanilla. A viscous mouthfeel with welcoming acidity that showcases stone fruits, citrus and hints of apple and spices.

The Janare Aglianico has a deep color with garnet hints. Cherry nuances melt with sweet vanilla notes given by ageing in the wood. On the palate it is full, powerful and intense with a light and soft tannins with a long, mouthfilling finish.

Producer Description 

There are two types of red grapes in the world that are always trimmed for finesse and elegance. The much better known is the Pinot Noir from France and then also with its relative, the German Pinot Noir.

Then in the outer tip of Austria - in Styria - there are more and more winemakers who feel a total devotion to their local red wine specialty - Blaufränkisch - and can derive just as much elegance from it as the much more prominent Pinot Noir. Now Gottfried Lamprecht is very fortunate to have the Buchertberg, a vineyard that can show dramatic differences in the soil. And anyone who has ever been to Burgundy in France and has seen the prices of wines that come from particularly fortunate soils - for the winemakers and their wallets - will appreciate Gottfried Lamprecht's wines.

For the connoisseurs it should be briefly mentioned that on the Buchertberg opok soils, partly sandstone weathering, sand and silt change in a very small space and make up the rare great class of this wine.

Expert Review - Vintage 2022

Decanter 94 Points | Gorgeous Cabernet aromas, clear and crystalline, some herbal notes with a cool blueberry and chalky element. Rose scents, dark cherries and cinnamon bark. Full and expressive, warming tones but great acidity that gives such lift. Lovely purity and drive, this has a great sense of confidence - nothing overdone, really pristine and finessed. If anything it’s not super heavy, but it’s the better for it. You get the Napa richness in the fruit concentration but it’s so well defined and still with a graceful power. Yum. 0.5% Petit Verdot completes the blend.

Since 1993, Overture has been an expression of place across time. In keeping with an internal desire to underscore the importance of the growing season, Opus One has taken the necessary steps for Overture to become a vintage-dated wine. In doing so, Opus One intends to emphasize the diversity of our estate with a renewed focus.

Over the years our winemaker, Michael Silacci, and his team have come to deeply understand the individual blocks within the vineyards. Farming practices may then be adjusted at the block level to enable the vines to fully capture the quality of the estate.  The majority of our vineyards are planted in alluvial soils in the extreme western part of the Oakville, AVA, at the foot of the Mayacamas mountains. 

The fruit is harvested and vinified with the same care, precision, and attention to detail as Opus One. Unique aromatics, flavors, and textures are recognized as ideal for Overture — more red fruit, herbal characteristics, soft tannins, and creamy texture.

The Bourgogne Blanc from Domaine Leflaive has the particularity to only come from vineyards located in the town of Puligny, making it easily one of the best Bourgogne Blanc you could get your hands on. This is the perfect first step into the Domaine Leflaive’s unique offerings. All vineyards are farmed biodynamically. 

Expert Review - Vintage 2022 

Allen Meadows of Burhound | A very pretty nose freely reveals its aromas of apple, pear and lemon rind. The succulent, delicious and appealingly vibrant middleweight flavors possess a relatively refined texture while displaying fine depth and length for a wine of this level. The 20% addition of young vines from upper-level vineyards clearly helps and overall, this is excellent.

The Pascal Cotat Sancerre Les Monts Damnés 2022 is a distinguished Sauvignon Blanc from the renowned Chavignol region in the Loire Valley, France. Cultivated on the steep, chalky slopes of the Monts Damnés vineyard—known as “the damned mountains” due to their challenging terrain—this wine embodies both elegance and power.

The 2022 vintage offers a complex bouquet of citrus peel, green apple, and white flowers, interwoven with a pronounced chalky minerality. On the palate, it delivers flavors of morello cherries, cracked black pepper, and juicy red plums, balanced by refreshing acidity and a medium-bodied structure. The wine's profile is marked by its freshness and approachability, making it suitable for various occasions.

Ideal pairings include shellfish, grilled fish, and creamy goat cheeses, making it a delightful choice for refined dining experiences.

This exceptional wine is a testament to Pascal Cotat's commitment to producing some of the most singular and age-worthy Sauvignon Blancs in the world.

Aromas of melons, fresh herbs, white flowers; a delicate note of sea salt. Creamy yet light on the tongue; poached white fruits, lime zest, grapefruit. Very long.

Intense purple red. To the nose rich with red fruits, ripe black cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant. It opens up and offers ethereal scents after a little while. 

Tannins are strong. Long, warm and soft finish.

Ideal match for local dishes of the Maremma, wild boar and venison meat. It also goes perfectly with Pecorino Toscano DOP. Winemaker Description.

Winemaker Description

Magnificent bright rose-gold color with silver undertones. Very elegant, the nose reveals a superb, intense and delicate aromatic bouquet, mixing notes of hibiscus and amaryllis with a gourmet nature offering delicious aromas of vine peaches. 

The sophistication continues on the palate with a beautiful tension, an ample, fleshy, silky texture, a very nice balance, and gourmet aromas of crunchy fruit combined with the minerality of saline and limestone notes. The finish is outstanding, full of length.

You may say to yourself this is so different in the tradition of a wine from old world France in the bard yard style. Its power immediately comes at you. If you prefer modern style California Zinfandel, then this wine is not for you. If you are an explorer, with a skydiver personality, I highly recommend this wine.

92 Points Wine & Spirits | Organically farmed fruit from the Russian River Valley, neutral oak aging and the talents of Eric Sussman and his team at RadioCoteau combine to make this a pretty great zin for the price. It’s bursting with fresh wildblueberry flavor, rustic and harmonious in its barnyard-scented tannins. This is ready to decant for grilled vegetables or meats. (2020).

The 2020 County Line Zinfandel is characterized by powerful fruit and spice aromas balanced by refreshing acidity and herbal complexity. It speaks to both the robust essence of the grape and the nuances of its Sonoma Coast terroir. The wine is vibrant, with scents of nutmeg-spiced blackberry pie and sun-warmed strawberry, elevated by floral earl grey tea. These rich, fruity notes are followed by earthy briar and flint on the palate, with a lively, savory finish. Lingering flavors of cacao nib and rugged leather make for a sophisticated compliment to the voluptuous fruit in the nose. Immediately approachable, this Zinfandel also has depth and layers to entice thoughtful sipping. The Sauvignon Blanc Südsteiermark DAC is a great classic from Sattlerhof and comes from organically farmed vines on quartz and lime-strewn soils with a gravel layer that give it cool elegance.

Herbal and pear aromas and a pleasant acidity make it an exciting accompaniment to asparagus and other delicate spring dishes.

92 points James Suckling | This shows earthy character, with notes of cherries, plums, tobacco leaf, leather, cloves and cardamom. Medium-bodied, polished and creamy with a lively fruit component, hints of wet earth, sweet spices and a lingering finish. Drink or hold.

Winemaker Description

Classic Purisima Mountain Vineyard Syrah aromas and flavors of black fruits, chocolate, game, pepper, and smoke are ripe and intense in the 2020 vintage. Very ripe, fine tannins frame the bold flavors and rounded texture. Somehow through all the heat, our fruit retained beautiful acidity which balances out the bold and rich flavors creating an awesome vintage of Purisima Mountain Vineyard Syrah with classic texture and structure.

92 Points Jeb Dunnuck | Blueberries, mulberries, peppery herbs, and some flower notes all emerge from the 2020 Syrah Purisima Mountain Vineyard, a medium to full-bodied, fruit-forward, plush, sexy little gem of a Syrah that will offer loads of pleasure over the coming 4-6 years or more. This was completely destemmed and brought up in 35% new French oak. (2020).

Vinous 93 Points by Rebeca Gibb, MW | The 2022 Le Haut-Lieu Moelleux is a supple, tender style. It's delicate on the palate while succulent and medium-sweet, which is quite a feat. You'll struggle to find many producers in the world who can achieve this balance. It has a fine, delicate fragrance of apple, pear and even a hint of celery. The finish is gentle, with a fine texture lightly coating the palate. A little shorter than I'd like ideally, but still super stuff. (47g/L RS).

Wine Spectator 92 Points | This graceful, lighter bodied Chardonnay rested in neutral French oak for 12 months after partial malo. It is brisk and tangy, with aromas and flavors of peach skins, lemon drops, chamomile, green tea and chalk. This nimble wine wants to tango, and you should accept.

94 Points Vinous, Antonio Galloni | The 2018 Lafon-Rochet is such a classy wine. Power and finesse meld together in this Saint-Estèphe that is gorgeous, right from the very first taste. Black cherry, herbs, leather, licorice and dried flowers all build in the glass. In 2018, Lafon-Rochet is richer and bolder than it usually is, and yet all the elements are so nicely balanced. I would give it a few years in the cellar to allow some of the baby fat to melt away.

94 Points James Suckling | Blackberry and blueberry on the nose, as well as dark-chocolate, mineral and earthy undertones. It’s full-bodied with firm tannins. Fleshy and savory texture with layers. Flavorful finish and beautiful length. Lovely ripe fruit in the center palate. Try after 2025.

94 Points Jeb Dunnuck | The upper Médoc did brilliantly in 2018, and that's certainly apparent when tasting the 2018 Château Lafon-Rochet. Sporting a deep purple hue as well as a gorgeous bouquet of ripe black and blue fruits, lead pencil, forest floor, chocolate, and leafy herbs, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a round, mouth-filling texture, ripe, velvety tannins, and a great finish. It doesn't quite have the precision of the top wines in the appellation, but it's loaded with charm and character, and I'd certainly be thrilled to drink a bottle. This rich, textured, flavorful Saint-Estèphe will benefit from 4-6 years in the cellar and keep for two decades.

92 Points Wine Spectator | Seductive, with a gush of dark plum and blackberry preserve notes leading off, while light bay, dark tobacco and charcoal notes peek through. Has a racy edge through the finish, even with the warm fruit keeping the upper hand. Nicely done. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2032.

91 Points Wine Advocate | Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Lafon-Rochet delivers impactful scents of baked blackberries, warm cassis and black cherry compote, with suggestions of chargrill, tar and tobacco leaf, plus a waft of wild mushrooms. The medium to full-bodied palate is laden with black fruit preserves and earthy accents, supported by firm, chewy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with great length, if a little chewy.

95 Points Wine Enthusiast: This wine comes from an estate that is performing with distinction. It is rich, the tannins cushioned by ripe blackberry fruits and good acidity. Showing both structure and fruitiness, the wine will develop well, everything in balance. Drink from 2026. Editors' Choice

Elegantly structured and polished, Faust 2023 Napa Valley Cabernet is exquisitely balanced between freshness and richness on the palate. The cool forest notes that lift from the glass meld with oak spice, bay laurel, and fragrant underbrush while the wine's signature star anise gives way to beautifully concentrated flavors of Luxardo cherry, blueberry compote, and dark cocoa.

Fine-grained tannins wrap around a backbone of acidity that persists-with intriguing wet-slate minerality-endlessly on the finish. The generous character of this wine makes it delicious now, but with its tight structure, it will age beautifully.

James Suckling 91 Points | Aromas of cassis and ripe blackberries with notes of chocolate, nutmeg, spices and bark. Medium-bodied with juicy character and sleek, polished texture. Tannins are fine and chalky. Flavorful finish. 

The Wine Spectator 90 Points | Opens with a toasty vanilla bean and spiced pastry note that clings to the rich wild berry and plum core, which is kept honest by a streak of mineral acidity. Comes together nicely in the end, with a lingering note of chocolate. This is a touch flamboyant, but will have its fans. Drink now through 2028.

The Wine Enthusiast by Jesica Vargas 89 Points | Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, this Cabernet boasts aromas of vanilla and cocoa bean followed by a note of strawberry. Oak spices repeat on the soft palate and are matched by blackberry and strawberry flavors. 

Winemaker Description 

Deep red color, with ruby color. With a characteristic fruitiness of Maipo costa, red fruits such as strawberries, raspberries and cassis are mixed with aromas of black pepper, some moist soil and tobacco. Of elegant and smooth body, of balanced structure, good acidity that increases the complexity. Tannins present and soft at the same time, ending with a prolonged end-of-mouth sensation.

Jeb Dunnuck writes 93+ Points | The 2021 Geyserville checks in as 76% Zinfandel, 16% Carignane, and the rest Petite Sirah and Alicante Bouschet. It has a pure, expressive bouquet of fresh plums, figs, mulberries, peppery herbs, leather, and vanilla bean, and it takes some air to show at its best, gaining depth and richness with time in the glass. This medium to full-bodied, spicy, elegant red blend has a touch more oak present than I'm accustomed to, but it has a silky, elegant mouthfeel, nicely integrated acidity, and outstanding length. It's going to benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age.  Drinking 2023 - 2027.  

Tim Fish of Wine Spectator writes 93 Points | Tightly focused and briary, this blend offers density without weight. Presents plum and blueberry flavors accented by dill and green peppercorn as this builds tension toward medium-grained tannins. Zinfandel, Carignane, Petite Sirah and Alicante Bouschet. Drink now through 2032. 

Samantha Cole-Johnson of Jancis Robison writes 16.5 Points |  Medium ruby verging on purple in colour. Spicy red and black plum, cinnamon, clove, anise and a more savoury spice note akin to red chilli. Fresh, high acidity and fine-grained, moderate tannin. Lightly sandy, plummy finish. More savoury than the Lytton Springs bottling.  Drinking 2024 - 2035.  

Antonio Galloni of Vinous writes 94+ Points | The 2021 Geyserville hits the palate with a burst of dark red/purplish fruit, sweet spice, lavender, chocolate, dried herbs and American oak. I would be in no rush to open the 2021, as it is clearly an infant at this stage. The blend is 76% Zinfandel, 16% Carignane, 6% Petite Syrah and 2% Alicante Bouschet. The 2021 is a powerhouse, that much is pretty clear.  Drinking 2026 - 2041.
