Producer Description
This is poised and elegant with notes of bitter chocolate, crushed walnuts, black peppercorns, blackberries and blackcurrants. It’s medium-bodied with silky tannins and layers of fresh black fruit. Classy. Try from 2026.
Expert Reviews
Wine Advocate 94 Points | Opaque purple-black colored, the 2020 Gloria comes soaring out of the glass with notes of blackcurrant cordial, preserved plums and blueberry compote, followed by suggestions of powdered cinnamon, cedar chest and menthol, plus a waft of graphite. The medium to full-bodied palate is completely coated with juicy black fruits, framed by grainy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy. The blend is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 11% Petit Verdot, aging for approximately 14 months in French oak barrels, 40% new. The alcohol is 13.3%. (v.2020).
James Suckling 94 Points | This is poised and elegant with notes of bitter chocolate, crushed walnuts, black peppercorns, blackberries and blackcurrants. It’s medium-bodied with silky tannins and layers of fresh black fruit. Classy. Try from 2026. (v.2020).
Wine Spectator 93 Points | Youthfully taut and well-structured, with singed apple wood and licorice root notes holding a core of red currant, dark plum and blackberry fruit in check for now. Reveals a nice racy graphite underpinning on the finish. One for the cellar. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2026 through 2038. (v.2020)
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Points | Just about a perennial must-buy, the 2020 Château Gloria is another terrific vintage for this Saint-Julien château, which always seems to turn out a fabulous wine that sells for a great price. Sporting a deep purple hue as well as impressive aromatics of ripe blackcurrants, plums, camphor, smoked tobacco, and gravelly earth, it's a wine that blossoms with time in the glass. (I followed this bottle for multiple days.) Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has beautifully dddddddpolpolispolishedtannins, outstanding balance, and the more focused style of the vintage. Tasted twice with consistent notes. (v.2020).
Vinous 93 Points | The 2020 Gloria is impressive. Bright and punchy, yet quintessentially medium in body, Gloria impresses for its exceptional balance. Sweet red cherry, blood orange, mint, white pepper and rose petal give this bright, chiseled Saint-Julien so much character. Gloria is such a pretty and inviting Saint-Julien. (Tasted two times.) (v.2020).
Overture by Opus One Napa Valley Red V9 750ml
Winemaker Description
Since 1993, Overture has been an expression of place across time. In keeping with an internal desire to underscore the importance of the growing season, Opus One has taken the necessary steps for Overture to become a vintage-dated wine. In doing so, Opus One intends to emphasize the diversity of our estate with a renewed focus.
Over the years our winemaker, Michael Silacci, and his team have come to deeply understand the individual blocks within the vineyards. Farming practices may then be adjusted at the block level to enable the vines to fully capture the quality of the estate. The majority of our vineyards are planted in alluvial soils in the extreme western part of the Oakville, AVA, at the foot of the Mayacamas mountains.
The fruit is harvested and vinified with the same care, precision, and attention to detail as Opus One. Unique aromatics, flavors, and textures are recognized as ideal for Overture — more red fruit, herbal characteristics, soft tannins, and creamy texture.
Ver Sacrum Monastrell Los Chacayes Valle de Uco 2021
Expert Review - Vintage 2021
Joaquin Hidalgo of Vinous writes 93 Points | The 2021 Monastrell hails from Los Chacayes in the Uco Valley and was all fermented in whole bunches before spending six months in concrete eggs. Garnet-red in hue. The nose presents aromas ranging from chocolate to dried flowers and watermelon to herbs. The palate is dry and grippy. Well-balanced acidity complements the vibrant tannins, resulting in a lean, compact mouthfeel. The 2021 is a long-lasting red for aficionados. Drinking 2023 to 2031.
Domaine Bechtold Pinot Gris Nef des Folles 2022 750ml
Producer Description
Nef des Folles” translates to “the nave of the mad”—a nave being the central area of a church which houses the congregation. Jean-Marie may well consider himself slightly mad, in his gently self-deprecating way, for such unorthodox experimentation, but this wine makes a wholly compelling plea for his sanity.
Comprising Pinot Gris from the Obere Hund vineyard macerated for twelve days on its skins and aged in a single old foudre, this Pinot Gris is vivid and luscious, with notes of honeycomb, ripe apricot, and chamomile. It is both palate-coating and gentle, exuding a sense of calm in its equipoise, and its total lack of added sulfur manifests in a palate of great purity and directness.
Ramon Canals Cava Reserva Rose Metode Tradicional Garnacha Pinot Noir Organic 2018 750ml
Winemaker Notes
A Cava of the traditional method, the grapes for this blush sparkler are sourced from clay and calcareous vineyards. A hand-gathered harvest selects the best of the plots, before pressing and a 12 hour maceration. The wine then ages for 24 months on the lees.
Bright strawberry notes are at the forefront of this energetic sparkler, backed by tropical, citrus aromas. Touches of minerality show through the fine mousse and lead into a bright finish of grapefruit acidity.
Garnatxa and Pinot Noir

Alta Mora Etna BIANCO 2022 750ml
Critic Notes
Eric Guido writes: Remarkably fresh, the 2022 Etna Bianco wafts up with an herbal-tinged bouquet that blends wet stone and hints of smoke with crushed almonds and pear. This washes across the palate with a mineral-laden wave of ripe orchard fruits, offset by a touch of sour lime. It finishes crisply refreshing and long, with a bump of mouthwatering acidity that calls the taster back to the glass. Drinking 2024 to 2028. - Vinous 92
James Suckling writes: Notes of ripe apples and pears with spices, chamomile and a stony minerality to it. Medium-bodied, sleek and polished with juicy acidity and delicious fruit. Layered and characterful. Drink now or hold. - James Suckling 93
Alison Napjus writes: Lip-smacking acidity is counterbalanced nicely by the creamy texture of this lively white, with aromatic accents of dried mint and grapefruit peel to the flavors of apricot, chopped almond and poached pear. Salty finish. Drink now through 2029. - Wine Spectator 90
Louis Roederer Philippe Starck BRUT NATURE Champagne 2015 750ml
Winemaker Description
Yellow hue with shimmering highlights and an even flow of lively bubbles. The bouquet is pure, elegant, vertical, rich and concentrated. Nuances of ripe fruit combined with exceptional finesse: fine, delicate citrus peel (lemon, orange) and vanilla (Madagascar bourbon vanilla) along with warmer notes of baked apple and Tarte Tatin that gradually give way to aromas of nougat.
The palate offers a marked and singular contrast: it is very expressionist thanks to the broad, juicy, almost sensual texture of the Cumières clay soils in a sunny year, yet distinctly minimalist due to a fresh, pure, mineral and mouthwatering backbone associated with its zero dosage. Ripe citrus fruit combines with warm stone notes further accentuating the mouthwatering, umami sensation. The finish is light, energetic and ethereal.
Expert Review
Audrey Frick of Jeb Dunnuck 95 Points | The 2015 Champagne Starck Brut Nature is forward with vinous and spicy aromas of saline and red currant, orange blossom, and smoke. Domaine de Beaurenard Cotes du Rhone Organic Biodynamic 2022 750ml
Our Professional Review
We first drank this Cote-du-Rhone at one of our favorite local restaurants Manny’s Bistro where I am addicted to the Magret de Canard (duck breast) and Dorothy loves the mussels Marinieres and Provencal. This medium bodied Rhone is fruit forward without being overwhelmed by the fruit, balanced acidity allows it to work with both the duck and the mussels and more it just is quaffable, happily we stroll home (-:
Critic Notes
Kristen Bieler writes: Delivers an inviting cascade of brambly berry flavors, which merge with chalky mineral accents and zippy acidic drive. A great everyday red for its refreshing profile and accessible mix of savory garrigue accents and bright fruit. Grenache and Syrah. Drink now. Wine Spectator

Monte Bernardi Chianti Classico Retromarcia Biodynamic Organic 2021 750ml
Winemaker Description
Monte Bernardi Retromarcia Chianti Classico is a deep, ruby red with hints of purple. Intense notes of mountain herbs, aromas of cranberry, wild cherry and red plums, anise, spice, and orange peel. Fresh and fruity, medium-bodied, well balanced, with a nice structure, juicy acidity and a long finish.
Expert Review
Decanter 91 Points | A lovely vintage for Retromarcia, this smells of place: scents of bergamot and lavender meet fresh herbs and wild red berries. The midweight, buoyant palate is juicy with ripe red cherry and raspberry enfolded in layers of fine, well-structured tannins. A subtle earthiness adds appeal. As with the Sangió, this sees a spontaneous fermentation with native yeast, and is unfiltered and carries low total sulphur (less than 25mg/L). It hails from the estate’s younger vines (less than 20 years old) from varying aspects, elevations and soils. (2021)
Chateau Marquis De Terme Margaux 2019 750ml
Expert Reviews
James Suckling 94 Points | This is a solid Margaux with blackberries, blackcurrants and undertones of fresh tobacco and a wet earth. It’s full and layered with beautiful energy and structure. Tight at the end, as it should be. Try after 2025. (2019).
Decanter 94 Points | Great depth, starting to really achieve class and depth with generous dashes of chocolate, coffee, mocha. Combines tannic hold with great freshness, an excellent wine; black fruits, bilberry, blackberry, finished off with the fine tannins of smoked oak. A brilliant Marquis de Terme. (2019).
Jeb Dunnuck 91 Points | The 2019 Château Marquis De Terme showed better now than from a bottle tasted earlier this year. Giving up plenty of darker, almost black fruits as well as tobacco, gravelly earth, and spice, it's medium to full-bodied, has a round, fleshy, sexy mouthfeel, quality tannins, and a great finish. (2019).
Wine Spectator 91 Points | Features cherry and black currant puree notes with some inner freshness, while black tea, alder and violet hints form a pretty backdrop. Nice steady finish, too. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now. (2019).
Robert Parker 90+ Points | Aromas of rich black fruits, cherry preserve and pencil shavings introduce the 2019 Marquis de Terme, a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy wine with a broad attack that segues into an ample mid-palate framed by ripe but youthfully assertive tannins. This is a muscular, rather chunky Margaux that will reward a bit of bottle age and which, with time, may make my score seem conservative. This is an evolving estate, as fully 25% of its vineyards have been replanted since 2009. Cabernet on rich soils between Labégorce and Château Margaux represents the core of the blend. Best After 2025. (2019).
Brick House Pinot Noir Select Ribbon Ridge Organic Biodynamic 2022 750ml
Critic Notes
Audrey Frick writes: Another potential wine for a Top 100 list, the 2022 Pinot Noir Select is a jeweled red/ruby color and offers a fantastic bouquet of spicy fresh herbs, pomegranate, peppery spice, and wildflowers. Medium-bodied, it’s energetic and lifted on the palate, with a mouthwatering feel and fine, well-defined tannins. I love its texture, which has a crisp feel with notes of orange peel through the finish. It’s a more angular wine for this vintage, and I love it. The estate has backed off punch downs and is working with more delicate pumpovers instead, and it shows. It’s very pretty and transparent in its feel. Drink 2025-2040. - Jeb Dunnuck 95
Tim Fish writes: Vibrant and floral, with expressive raspberry and cranberry flavors that are laced with pretty notes of rose petal, forest floor and dusky spices as this glides toward refined tannins. Drink now through 2032. - Wine Spectator 93
Eric Guido writes: The 2022 Pinot Noir Select is wonderfully perfumed with spice-tinged red berries, cloves and dusty flowers. This is juicy and energetic on the palate, with raspberry and cherry depths slowly saturating the senses. This finishes long and sapid with fine tannins framing exotic spices and inner florals, all enlivened by a bump of residual acidity. Drinking 2025 to 2031. - Vinous 93
Erin Brooks writes: The 2022 Pinot Noir Select is bursting with blueberry and pomegranate on the nose, plus accents of orange peel, tea leaves and forest floor. The medium-bodied palate is finely chalky and bright, and its long, flavorful finish calls you in for another sip. Drinking 2024 to 2034. - Robert Parker Wine Advocate 92
Samantha Cole-Johnson writes:Pale ruby in colour. Gorgeous, stemmy spice on the nose with green cardamom, rose and bright, tart Bing cherry. Really lovely. Fresh mouth-watering acidity with lightly drying tannin and a long, earthy potting-soil-kissed finish. Refreshing. Ready now. Drinking 2024 to 2030. - Jancis Robinson 17+
