Roku Craft Gin is a masterwork of Japanese botanical artistry from Suntory — one of the world's great spirits houses — crafted at their Osaka distillery with the precision and seasonal sensitivity that defines Japanese craftsmanship. Roku means “six” in Japanese, a reference to the six unique Japanese botanicals at the heart of this gin, each harvested at peak season and blended with eight traditional Western gin botanicals to create a spirit of extraordinary complexity and harmony.
The nose is floral and delicate: cherry blossom and sakura leaf open with a soft sweetness, followed by the fresh, grassy lift of sencha and gyokuro green tea. On the palate, the gin is smooth and silky, with yuzu citrus providing a bright, aromatic top note over a classic juniper backbone. The finish is long and gently spiced, with crisp Japanese sansho pepper adding a distinctive tingle that lingers with elegance. Multi-layered, yet perfectly harmonious — a gin that rewards slow sipping as much as skilled mixing.
Each of the six Japanese botanicals — sakura flower, sakura leaf, yuzu peel, sencha tea, gyokuro tea, and sansho pepper — is processed using a different distillation method to best capture its unique character, then blended with meticulous care. The result is a gin that is unmistakably Japanese in spirit, yet universally appealing in style.
