Domaine Guiberteau is one of the Loire Valley’s most celebrated estates, and Les Moulins is their entry-level rosé — a cuvée originally created for vineyards undergoing organic certification, now showcasing purchased grapes and young Domaine vines alongside the estate’s signature precision. Produced under the Chai de la Dive négociant project.

Made from Cabernet Franc, whole-cluster pressed and fermented with ambient yeasts in stainless steel, with malolactic conversion blocked to preserve freshness. The result is a bright, precise, and food-friendly rosé with real Loire character.

Domaine Gilbert Picq | Chablis 1er Cru Vosgros | Chablis, Burgundy, France | 2024

Domaine Gilbert Picq is a 14.3-hectare family estate in Chablis, managed today by brothers Didier and Pascal Picq. The domaine is celebrated for its ultra-pure, uncompromising house style — no wood, no artifice, just the transparent expression of Chablis terroir in its most honest form. The wines are known to age exceptionally well, developing remarkable complexity over time while always retaining the mineral precision and energy that defines great Chablis.

Vosgros is a left-bank Premier Cru vineyard known for its steep, sun-drenched slopes and Kimmeridgian limestone soils — the ancient seabed of fossilized oyster shells that gives Chablis its signature saline minerality. Picq's plots in Vosgros include some of the family's oldest vines, planted in the 1960s and 1980s, which provide deep concentration and complexity.

The 2024 growing season was seriously complicated — constant treatments to fight mildew, and hail that cost approximately 45% of the potential crop. Yields ranged from 25 to 45 hl/ha with an average of 35 hl/ha. Yet the result, in Didier Picq's own words: "2024 is completely classic, even old school but without the sometimes drying acidities of those vintages. I love this vintage as the wines have excellent terroir transparency and they have so much energy that they're already fun to drink."

The 2024 Vosgros shows fine Chablis typicity — apple, citrus confit, and a whiff of quinine on the nose. On the palate, very good mid-palate density with solidly concentrated, medium-weight flavors, a beguiling texture, and evident minerality on the moderately firm, balanced, and youthfully austere finish. A wine of genuine energy and terroir transparency.

Winemaker Description

Eight Years in the Desert is the culmination of decades of Orin Swift winemaking — a wine born from an eight-year Zinfandel non-compete agreement entered in 2008 that pushed the team to hone their craft across other varietals, setting the stage for Zinfandel's triumphant return to the lineup.

The 2024 vintage is sourced from vineyards across California, including the historic Monte Rosso vineyard on Sonoma County's Moon Mountain District AVA, as well as Stefani Ranch, Dark Horse, and numerous others. What first catches the eye is the opaque mauve core with a vivid fuchsia rim. The nose opens with aromatics of black plum and boysenberry galette, Tellicherry peppercorn, cedar, and musk. Taut yet supple on entry, the palate delivers wild blackberry, crispy pluot, a hint of fennel, and slate, finishing with soft framing tannins and a close of milk chocolate-covered raspberry.

Wine Advocate 93 Points — Based primarily on Zinfandel (60%, mainly from Sonoma's Dry Creek Valley), with 28% Petite Sirah, 7% Syrah, and 5% other reds. A terrific effort with a perfumed nose of ripe raspberries and hints of stone fruit. Full-bodied (15.4% ABV) and silky-textured, nicely balanced and mouthwatering, with soft tannins on the finish.

Expert Review - Vintage 2023 

The Wine Advocate 92 Points | I was able to taste the just-bottled 2023 Manoella Branco. This was a very balanced vintage, the growing season was almost perfect, and yields were good. The wine was a little closed for such an expressive year of wines with purity and freshness. It has notes of white flowers and fruit and a balsamic touch with the balance and harmony from the old vines.

Chablis achieves its highly distinctive mineral character due to its cool northerly climate and its highly calcareous soil. The Domaine Louis Moreau Petit Chablis is fresh and aromatic, with notes of apple and citrus on the nose. Bright acidity and a roundness on the palate.

Vermentino is the star white grape variety of the Tuscan coast, perfectly capturing the feel of an afternoon in the Maremma hills looking out at the Tyrrhenian Sea. Complices de Loire La Grande Parcelle Chenin Blanc from Montlouis-sur-Loire, France. This is an elegant white wine made from the Chenin Blanc grape, typical of this Loire region. This wine offers a wonderful balance between freshness and complexity, with aromas of citrus fruits, peach and white flowers, as well as a mineral undertone that reflects the calcareous soils.

The wine has a lively acidity and a soft, refined structure, which provides a refreshing and well-balanced taste. It is an ideal accompaniment to fish dishes, shellfish or goat cheese. The Original Super Tuscan — Sassicaia at Its Most Compelling

No wine better defines the Super Tuscan movement than Sassicaia. Created by Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta in the 1940s and first commercially released in 1968, Sassicaia pioneered the use of Cabernet Sauvignon on the Tuscan coast and forever changed the landscape of Italian fine wine.

By 1994, Sassicaia's reputation was so singular that it was granted its own DOC — Bolgheri Sassicaia — the only single-estate DOC in Italy. It remains the world's first and most celebrated Super Tuscan, still owned by the noble Incisa della Rocchetta family.

The Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia Bolgheri 2023 is a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Cabernet Franc, aged 24 months in 40% new French oak. The 2023 vintage was shaped by a cold winter, above-average rainfall, and a severe outbreak of downy mildew that forced brutal fruit selection and a 20% reduction in yields — a vintage of pressure and sacrifice that, like the legendary 1985, produced diamonds. Winemaker Description

Produced from equal parts Pinot Noir and Grolleau, the fruit for this wine comes from Chidaine’s estate-grown, biodynamically farmed vineyards located just north of the Cher River between the villages of Montrichard and Chissay-en-Touraine.

The nose of gooseberries with floral notes is followed by a medium-full wine with a chalky texture. Excellent acidity and beautiful tension bring up the solid mineral core. Very refreshing but surprisingly complex — a perennial favorite where supply never meets demand.

El Enemigo Cabernet Franc Gran Enemigo Single Vineyard Gualtallary 2020

Deep purple with red highlights. Intense and elegant aromas of sweet spices, black pepper, eucalyptus, and thyme from the Cabernet Franc, with ripe blackberries and black cherries from the Malbec. Complex on the palate with structured tannins, a touch of chocolate and vanilla from oak aging, and a very long, persistent finish.

Renato Ratti Ochetti Langhe Nebbiolo — Piedmont, Italy 2024

For more than 50 years, the name Ratti has been indissolubly tied to Barolo — and to the very soul of Piedmontese winemaking. Renato Ratti was a pioneer who helped define the modern style of Nebbiolo, and today the estate in La Morra continues his legacy with the same commitment to elegance, transparency, and terroir. The Ochetti is their benchmark Langhe Nebbiolo: an ancient wine originally sourced from the sandy hills of Roero on the left bank of the Tanaro River, now blended with fruit from cooler sites in Dogliani for added freshness and lift. Fermented with full berries and approximately one week of skin contact, the 2024 emphasizes elegance over power — and delivers it beautifully. A Decanter Silver Medal winner.

The color is a transparent, luminous ruby-red with orange hints. The nose is bright and fragrant: cranberry, forest strawberry, raspberry, fresh flowers, orange zest, and warm spice. Classic Noval notes of spicy red and blue fruits, orange blossom, cigar, tobacco, and candied mint emerge from the NV Black, and It's round, supple, and full-bodied on the palate, with nicely balanced sugar, a layered yet elegant mouthfeel, and a great finish. 

The Wine Advocate 90 Points | 'Black' is a new blend produced from classic varieties that do not make it into the Quinta do Noval vintage. There are ripe blackberries, tar, smoke and orange liqueur on the nose that takes time to open. The palate is medium-bodied, very sleek on the entry, fleshy black fruits, sloe, spice and just a hint of white pepper, leading to a very focused finish.

Cidrerie du Vulcain's Cidre La Lande Foye is a gorgeous, French cider from Jacques Perritaz's Normandy based orchard cidery. Jacques Perritaz, a botanist by training, is one of the leading figures in the cider revival. Originally based in Switzerland, he moved a few years ago to the Normandy bocage, where he has established himself on a 12-hectare estate boasting over fifty varieties of pear. Jacques' ciders and perries are characterized by superb balance and finesse.

This cider is made from a blend of different apple varieties such as Fréquin rayé, Petit jaune, Binet rouge, Douce Moen, Kermerrien... They are hand-harvested on the Normand estate.

Arnaldo Caprai Sagrantino di Montefalco Collepiano — Umbria 2020

Arnaldo Caprai is the definitive name in Sagrantino di Montefalco — the producer who put this ancient Umbrian grape on the world map. Founded in 1971 when Arnaldo Caprai purchased 42 hectares in Montefalco, the estate was transformed in 1986 when his son Marco took the helm and launched a series of collaborations with agronomic and winemaking research institutes that would redefine the region. The result was the legendary “25 Anni” cuvée, which captured the attention of critics worldwide and established Montefalco Sagrantino as one of Italy’s great DOCG appellations.
