A relic you can drink, Old Overholt is a straight rye whiskey with a distinctive flavor and appeal that, after Prohibition, made it the most popular spirit in the country. With a rich taste on the palate, Old Overholt offers a tinge of sweetness. 

Renowned for its outstanding mixability in classic cocktails like the Sazerac and 'Old Style' Manhattan, the one and only Old Overholt is 80 proof and aged 3 years. Abraham Overholt (1784 - 1870) was one of the fathers of American distilling and he took uncompromising pride in this product.

When it came to making his whiskey, Abraham Overholt lived by three hard and fast standards: work hard, stand fast, and don't waver. These three standards were the basis upon which he built Old Overholt, and they continue to be followed to this day.

Producer Description 

This limited-release whiskey is a sumptuous marriage of rye whiskeys finished in port barrels. The rye forms a beautiful base of vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon while the port barrels provide notes of plum, dried fruit, and spice. Like a proper holiday plum pudding, it’s brimming with lovely mulling spices, dried fruits, and crème anglaise. Sip it slowly through the coldest night.

JC Jenkins arrived in Petersburg, Kentucky, in 1833 from Virginia looking for opportunity in America’s new west. What he found a few steps from the banks of the Ohio River was the intoxicating taste of prosperity.
JC Jenkins who resided in his bucolic “Prospect Farm” hilltop home was influential to the growing town of Petersburg as a community leader, business visionary, and an active member of the Underground Railroad. We bottle this to honor our history and the hard-working Petersburg locals.

We honor their industry and determination with each bottle of our Small Batch Straight Rye Whiskey, aged a minimum of 5 years.

Not shying away from a complex flavor profile, grain-forward spiciness nuanced by cinnamon and ginger give a nice kick to the entire drinking experience.

Vinous 95 Points | Burnt blood orange, autumnal spices, candied ginger, dried nectarines and a lifting hint of mint create a kaleidoscopic bouquet as the 2022 Ben Ryé blossoms in the glass. Weighty and velvety in feel yet remarkably fresh, it floods the palate with masses of tropical citrus, mango and papaya, all supported by a core of zesty acidity. The 2022 finishes with dramatic length and concentration. A peach nectar resonance and savory spices linger on and on. The 2022 is sure to join the ranks of the best vintages of Ben Ryé. It finished at 200 grams per liter of residual sugar.

The Wine Spectator 94 Points | A gorgeous sweetie, showing a fragrant orange blossom nose, with an enticing range of glazed tangerine, apricot, dried mint and candied ginger, plus rich hints of graham cracker, vanilla and white chocolate. Long and lightly mouth-coating, with tangy blood orange peel acidity focusing this through the juicy finish. Drink now through 2034.

James Suckling 92 Points | A super rich and intense wine with aromas of peaches, dates, pine resin, dried figs, almonds and candied oranges. Full-bodied, it feels oily in the glass and sweet if not caramelized on the palate, with apricot flavors and refreshing acidity that’s not quite enough to balance the sugar. Iodine in the finish.

The 2022 vintage has been praised for its "kaleidoscopic" bouquet.

• Nose: Intense aromas of dried apricots, candied orange peel, and figs, with tropical hints of mango and papaya. You’ll also notice "Mediterranean macchia" (herbal/balsamic notes like wild mint and sage).

• Palate: Unctuous and honeyed but balanced by a remarkably high acidity that keeps it from being cloying.

The Tasting Panel 97 Points | This 90-proof whiskey from Sonoma County pays homage to the humungous trees that grow along California’s northern coast. Sumptuous scents of salted orange peel give way to an impressive weightiness on the palate, where sea salt and bittersweet chocolate intertwine with nutmeg, exotic blue flowers, and caraway. Stone fruit makes a lovely entry on the finish.

A smooth yet complex Kosher rye recipe bourbon from Buffalo Trace distillery, made in partnership with the Chicago Rabbinical Council, this whiskey has been aged in specifically designated Kosher barrels.

This whiskey is made from 95% rye and 5% malted barley sourced from Hudson Valley farms. It’s matured for a minimum of three and a half years in new American oak barrels before spending another three and a half years in barrels that previously held Calvados (an apple brandy distilled in Normandy, France).

Crafted by Hudson Whiskey NY at the historic Tuthilltown Distillery, this release represents the brand’s most mature rye to date. Certified Empire Rye and Kosher, it begins with a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, distilled from Hudson Valley grain.

The Wine Enthusiast 96 Points | First, a warning: this is only for those who like their rye big and brawny. It starts off innocuously with a maple-syrup color, and a pretty, complex and subtle scent: honey, vanilla, a sight medicinal tinge and faint clover notes. It feels silky on the tongue and at first, the flavors reflect caramel, burnt orange and a whisper of smoke, but then a mouth-warming wave of tannic bite sweeps over all and lingers for a good long time. Straight up or on the rocks.

The Whisky Advocate 91 Points | Maturity meets verve with aromas of leather, dark berry fruit, and damp earth, lifted by lively spices—clove and cinnamon—along with vivid citrus and licorice nibs. It’s light to medium-bodied, with honey, cinnamon, and a big hit of rye spice, sweetening with vanilla, spun sugar, and golden syrup, setting up a push and pull between the rye and the sweet notes, before a finish of toffee, cinnamon, cinder toffee, and walnuts in syrup.

This carefully crafted Rye and Malt edition of Shortcross Irish Whiskey has been proudly distilled, matured and bottled at Rademon Estate Distillery.  This is our second release of whiskey, following our first release Inaugural single malt whiskey. Created with a unique mash bill of 100% Irish malted rye and malted barley.

This whiskey has been double distilled on our copper pot stills, including one of the smallest whiskey stills on the island of Ireland. Aged in a combination of virgin chinkapin oak and ex-bourbon barrels. Non-chill filtered all natural colour. 

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Soft spice, orange peel and creamy caramel fudge. 
Palate: Sweet stem ginger, fresh apricot and green apple followed by dark honey.
Finish: Sweet Marmalade and rich fudge, bringing with it light spice.  Velvety and rich finish.

Dorothy Arzner Straight Rye Whiskey 3 Year

Dorothy Arzner made history when she became the first woman to direct a sound film, Manhattan Cocktail in 1928. Her directing career spanned the 1920s to the early 1940s. She launched the careers of many actresses including Katharine Hepburn and Lucille Ball. Later, in her teaching years at UCLA, she taught a young Francis Ford Coppola and gave him the confidence to become a film director. In honor of this free-spirited and independent woman were releasing a 3-year-old straight rye whiskey.

The May 2015 inaugural release of Michter's US1 Barrel Strength Rye marked yet another milestone in that quest. For maturation, the Rye distillate is entered into the barrel at 103 proof, rather than a more industry standard higher proof. Barrel entry at a lower proof of 103 rather than a higher proof costs Michter's more money in terms of barrels and warehousing, but they believe it yields a richer, smoother, more full-bodied whiskey after proper maturation. A single barrel product, each barrel of Michter's US1 Barrel Strength Rye is bottled at its particular alcohol level at the time of bottling. The majority of barrels in the releases range from 107 to 112 proof. To savor it is a unique experience for anyone who enjoys rye whiskey.

The Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Straight Rye Whiskey 2023 release is a continuation of a revered tradition in the world of fine spirits. As a part of the esteemed Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, this whiskey pays homage to Thomas H. Handy, an influential figure in New Orleans' cocktail history, known for popularizing the Sazerac cocktail.

Each year as part of the Parker's Heritage Collection, we select a special whiskey to be released in the name of our late Master Distiller Parker Beam. The barrels selected for this series include Bourbon, Rye, and Wheat Whiskeys, among others, and are some of the finest and most diverse American Whiskeys ever produced. They are a fitting tribute to the expertise of Parker Beam.

The 17^th edition of the Parker’s Heritage Collection consists of 10-year-old Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey pulled from 142 barrels. For this release, we used our traditional rye mashbill of 51% rye, 35% corn and 14% malted barley. It was barreled in August, October or December of 2012 and aged on the first floor of Rickhouse H1 and H2, the fifth floor of Rickhouse FF, the third and seventh floors of Rickhouse BB, and the second floor of Rickhouse DD.

At bottling, the liquid was non-chill filtered. This is only the second Rye in the collection and is the longest-aged Rye Whiskey in the Heaven Hill Distillery portfolio, making this a truly special edition.

Our small batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskeys are offered as a Small Batch, up to 12 barrels per batch, which was the result of one fermenter. The goal of the Small Batch is to capture the total essence of more complex notes from multiple barrels from distillate of the same fermenter. Weve decided to release the Small Batch Bourbon as a Bottled in Bond so fans of our Wheated Single Barrel Bourbon can do a side-by-side comparison.

Our Small Batch release mash bill is 64 percent corn, 24 percent rye and 12 percent malted barley using our yeast strains. We entered the cooper select, toasted and #4 char barrel at 110 proof after coming off the still around 137 proof. All of our whiskeys are aged and matured on our 168-acre campus inside any one of our six rickhouses. We have more than 100,000 barrels aging onsite.

Producer Description 

Gold with a copper wash. Toasted pumpernickel bread, with a whiff of mustiness akin to an old grain bin, and a fruity sweet note. A current of rye spiciness, restrained by a wallop of toasty grain, and a little nibble of dried apricot coming up at the end. Mouthfeel: Thick and oily. A touch spicy, but overall it is a gentle and lasting experience.
