With a classic Beaujolais feel, it greets you with beautiful aromas of fresh red fruits like cranberries and pomegranates, bringing lively acidity to your palate. The juicy, crunchy fruit flavours, the hint of pepper, the light earthiness, and soft tannins make it a perfect ‘food-friendly’ choice. Or, if you prefer, it’s also perfectly acceptable to place this wine on your "chillable reds" shelf and enjoy a few glasses on a warm summer evening.

93 - Jeb Dunnuck : The 2023 Gamay Noir Tualatin Estate Vineyard is highly expressive and pours a jeweled ruby/magenta color. A wine that Evan wants to be drinkable at all times, it’s hitting that mark right now, with a fruity aromatic profile in its notes of mixed berries, wildflowers, white pepper, and dusty earth. Ripe and effusive in the glass, it’s medium-bodied, with fine, chalky tannins, and while it’s lovely and refined, it’s still playful. It will drink well over the next 6-8 years.

Tualatin Estate is situated in the far northwestern corner of the Willamette Valley, with the coast range mountains to the immediate west creating a strong diurnal shift from warm days to cool nights, preserving mouthwatering acidity. The low water permeability of the Laurelwood soil provides balanced stress to the vines, reducing vine vigor and crop yield. This produces concentrated red fruit, floral aromatics, and ripe skin and stem maturity, giving fine structure and rich color. Winery Notes

Bednarik Vineyard is situated in the far northwest of the Willamette Valley, nestled into the foothills of Oregon's Coast Range near Cherry Grove. The microclimate here is cool and the mature self-rooted vines are patient to ripen. The well-drained marine sediments provide the vines a balanced stress, resulting in naturally-restrained yields, limited canopy growth, and lots of air flow and sun exposure, translating to Pinot noir with concentrated red fruit and distinctively energetic texture. Bednarik always presents wonderfully expressive floral and spice-driven perfume and the palate becomes increasingly silken with age. We are truly privileged to work with three of the eight total acres at this very special, mature vineyard.

The grapes were picked late with good ripeness and health and fermented with natural yeasts in stainless steel and open-top oak vats, then the wine matured in oak containers of different sizes for 22 to 24 months. This is a very good classical wine, serious and balanced, with very fine tannins, a balanced mouthfeel and enough power and concentration to be able to show elegance and nuance. 95 Jeb Dunnuck: From one site, the 2015 Finca Iscorta De Pecina Gran Reserva has more density, more alcohol, more color, and more black fruit on the palate and should age outstandingly. Finca Iscorta is the winery’s oldest vineyard, which it treats as a grand cru, only making the wine in worthy years. The next won’t be until 2019. Strong and powerful in tannin and full-bodied weight, it could go another 20-30 years, so intensely concentrated, spiced, and textured, from both a powerful year and a powerful site. It spent four years in used American oak.

94  Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: A more modern Gran Reserva from a single vineyard, the 2015 Finca Iscorta de Peciña Gran Reserva was produced with the grapes from a 50-year-old vineyard, fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel with a moderate extraction and short-ish maceration. It matured in used American oak barrels for four years and was racked every six months. It's a little darker, the color and the fruit profile, and it's intensely balsamic, with notes of camphor and abundant spicy notes. It's solid and seamless and fills your mouth; it's powerful with 15% alcohol and 6.2 grams of acidity, ripe but balanced.
