Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022
James Suckling 96 Points | A well-composed, structured and refined Chateauneuf-du-Pape. The nose reveals notes of dark cherries, cassis, dried thyme, black pepper and a touch of violets. It's full-bodied with fine, firm tannins. The frame of tannins shape up the palate, with dark berries at the core. Plenty of spices and grilled herb character on the palate bring vibrancy and drive. Robust and focused, and the funneled finish has length.
Vinous 92 Points | Blending 55% Grenache with 33% Syrah and 12% Mourvedre, the 2022 Chateauneuf-du-Pape packs distinct licorice, gravel, red cherry and violet notes alongside minty undertones. Constructed around a firm tannic core, the full-bodied 2022 is clearly built for the long haul. Despite the marked tannins, there is an overall elegance here that I applaud.
The Wine Advocate 91 Points | Aromas of violet, dark wild berries, lavender and smoke preface the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape from Mont Redon, a medium to full-bodied, concentrated and structured wine with an assertive tannic frame, velvety tannins and a long and spicy finish. Mainly Grenache Noir with Syrah, Mourvèdre and other authorized grapes, it's matured only 8% in new barrels and the rest in a combination of used barrels and foudres.

Decanter 93 Points | Bold clove, vanilla and cinnamon aromas with black fruit overtones. Firm structure, somewhat chewy on the palate, firm and focused with great punch. Promising wine.
Jeb Dunnuck 93 Points | Bold clove, vanilla and cinnamon aromas with black fruit overtones. Firm structure, somewhat chewy on the palate, firm and focused with great punch. Promising wine.
The Wine Advocate 92 Points | The best "regular" Mont Redon I can recall tasting, the 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape is wonderfully full-bodied yet silky and harmonious, while the nose offers gentle garrigue notes and purple raspberries. The tannins on the finish are supple, and the flavors add hints of cola-like spice to the minty-fresh finish. It's an assemblage of 60% Grenache, 31% Syrah, 8% Mourvèdre and 1% other permitted varieties, aged in a 50-50 mix of barrels and tanks. Tasted twice (once blind), with consistent notes.
