Dark brambly forest fruits intertwined with raw coffee beans, like a trek to the depths of the Balinese mountains. Notes of fresh curry leaves, pine resin, and balsamic notes hint to whole bunches used in the fermentation and completed by a feather-light touch of delicate French oak. Shiraz and Grenache together makes for such a dynamic blend and decadent mouthfeel. Shiraz bringing the mid palate weight and intensity of fruit flavors, while the spicy saffron liveliness of Grenache pulls everything together for a party on your palate. The Nicosia “Cru” wines of Etna come from the Monte Gorna estate, located in the Trecastagni area, very close to the wine cellar. A red and a white wine, made with organic grapes, that authentically represent the great expression that this terroir and its native vines can offer.

These DOC wines are the demonstration that on the volcano each slope, each area, each vineyard can produce wines with different characteristics, giving unique and unrepeatable sensations. The composition of the eruptive materials gave life to composite soils, often made up small sized pumice stones, known as "ripiddu", found mostly on extinguished volcanic cones such as Monte Gorna; thier elevated drainage capacity and their wealth of potassium paly an important role in balancing the grape's maturation process.

Even the climate distinguishes the Etna area respect to the rest of Sicily. The average temperatures on the mountains are lower and the climate also changes depending on the slope and the alyitude.

From a winemaking standpoint, the wine diurnal temperature range is fundamental, as it gives the wines their goog freshness and elegant aromas.

Carricante is an indigenous white grape cultivated exclusively on Etna and its name refers to the plant considerable productivity. In fact, the name Carricante refres to a "plant full of fruits".

This biodynamic, sulfur-free Carménère immediately captivated us: immediately very present, enormously aromatic, a true powerhouse! On the nose, green pepper, black pepper, coffee, cloves, and other spices, with grassy, vegetal notes. A very successful blend of fruit and complex vegetal aromas. Initially astringent and fully dry, the palate displays powerful cherry fruit with tobacco, cocoa, and pepper, then becomes increasingly smooth, soft, and supple.

Intense and dark cherry-red color, with a high robe and ruby red edges. Clean and bright. Highly intense aromas with abundant notes of fruit. Its notes of red and black fruit (prunes, figs, cherries, redcurrant and raspberries) are released along with flower notes and mixed with nice spicy and light toasted nuances.

High load of fruit aromas dominate the palate. It is a lively and crisp, medium-bodied red wine. It shows a light astringency provided by its marked tannins and a good acidity that provides it with deepness. Long and persistent finish.

This is a deep ruby-colored wine that combines aromas of violet flowers, raspberries and spices. It shows an impressive structure and also a good concentration of fruit on the palate. This is an age worthy Beaujolais that could be put aside for a few years PRODUCTION NOTES-Length of alcoholic fermentation is 20 days. Maceration technique involves Semi Carbonic. Aged in 228 L French Oak Barrels for 9 months.

Made with selected grapes grown on lava terraces at an average altitude of 720 m above sea level, these Etna wines represent a unique combination of the typical elegance of mountain wine and minerality due to volcanic origin. The extraordinary wealth of minerals in Etna's volcanic soils is the source of the very sapid and typical flavor of the wines produced here.  The quality of the soil is closely tied to Etna’s volcanic origins, as it was formed through the disintegration of lavas with different compositions and from different eras, and eruptive materials such as sands, ashes, pumice stone and “lapilli”. Even the climate distinguishes the Etna area respect to the rest of Sicily. The average temperatures on the mountains are lower and the climate also changes depending on the slope and the altitude. From a winemaking standpoint, the wine diurnal temperature range is fundamental, as it gives the wines their freshness and elegant aromas.

The Wine Enthusiast by Tonya Pitts writes 89 Points | Who says organic wine can not be tasty, good for the earth, and good for you? This selection is fresh and bright, with ripe cantaloupe, guava, citrus, and notes of White nectarine and dried spice on the nose. The flavors on the palate are youthful and robust, with White grapefruit, bitter rind, thyme, and sedimentary rock throughout the mouthfeel.

Our climate ripens Sauvignon Blanc grapes with hot days and cool nights, making wines that have tropical aromas of pineapple and passion fruit with a lemony finish and gentle acidity. This wine is bright and clear and is excellent with spicy coconut lemongrass soup, sushi, or a Sunday brunch.

Tasting Notes: Crimson in color with violet hues. Spiced plums and peppercorns with fruit cake and forest floor aromas. The Marcel Lapierre Morgon Cuvée S Organic 2024 is a fantastic expression of Morgon, one of the Beaujolais Crusin France. The Morgon appellation is known for its rich, more structured wines compared to other Beaujolais wines, thanks to the granitic soils and the unique character of the Gamay grape.

The Marcel Lapierre Morgon Cuvée S Organic 2024 is a 100% organic wine from a producer that is legendary for its natural winemaking approach. This cuvée offers a perfect balance of fruitiness, earthiness, and subtle complexity. You can expect red berry aromas (think raspberry and cherry) combined with hints of minerality and a touch of spicy complexity from the granite soils of Morgon. The wine is made using traditional, natural methods, meaning it’s fermented with indigenous yeasts and sees minimal intervention in the winery.

• Taste: On the palate, it's vibrant, with smooth tannins, fresh acidity, and a bit of garrigue or herbs in the background. It's an approachable yet deeply satisfying wine that showcases the purity and character of the Morgon terroir.

Neal Martin writes:  The 2024 Morgon that I tasted from barrel came from the first and third pickings. There is plenty of vivacious white-tipped strawberry and Morello cherry on the nose. The palate is lively and very citrus-driven with red cherries, orange zest, noticeably "punchy" acidity and a chalky finish.  - Vinous 90-92

While Albet i Noya was established in 1978, its roots in organic craftsmanship date back to the turn of the twentieth century, when the family’s expertise was already well established. Even though the phylloxera epidemic was at its height when their great-great-grandfather Joan Albet i Rovirosa arrived to work in the vineyards in Sant Pau d’Ordal, he stayed there.

They are one of the few wineries left that labels their bottles with “Classic Penedès” rather than “Cava,” a distinction that indicates the wine was made entirely from grapes cultivated, harvested, and vinified on the estate and matured for at least 15 months before distribution.

A Clàssic Penedès made with Pinot Noir and Garnatxa. Versitile with food, ideal as an appetizer. Aromas of herbs and fresh flowers combined with a background of perfectly fresh red fruit. In the mouth, it is refreshing but at the same time has the complexity of a sparkling wine aged for 15 months.

The Wine Enthusiast 94 Points | This is the flagship Chardonnay produced by Domaine Anderson. It is a glimpse into the winemaking style of the house, highlighting the cool climate, sunshine and proximity to the Pacific Ocean. The nose conveys pithy apple, youthful nectarine and butterscotch candy. The palate intensifies these notes, along with high acidity, minerals, cinnamon and a mouthwatering finish.

Jeb Dunnuck 92 Points | Made from estate-grown, certified organic vineyards, including three single-vineyard designates (Navarro-Fairhills, Walraven, and Dach), the 2021 Chardonnay Estate is a light-bodied white that is tangy in acidity and fresh citrus notes, expertly showcasing both the cool-climate region and coolness of the vintage, one of the earliest harvests on record in the Anderson Valley. Meyer lemon and a twist of lime highlight the aromatic profile, with more lemon developing on the palate as a nice complement to the green and Golden Delicious apple flavors.

Winemaker Description 

Domaine de L’Arlot is one of the seminal properties in Nuits St. Georges.  The domaine was co-owned by Jean-Pierre de Smet, who spent eight years alongside Jacques Seysses of Domaine Dujac before taking over L’Arlot in 1986.  Today, the domaine consists of 14 hectares planted to mostly Pinot Noir. In 2015 the very talented Geraldine Godot took over the domaine. While retaining the core values of l’Arlot, including biodynamic farming, Geraldine has brought her own style to this historic estate, with extraction kept to a minimum, and the wines seeing less new oak than in the past. All of this is done to preserve the gorgeous fruit from their cherished vineyards. With Geraldine’s inspired leadership, Domaine de l’Arlot is committed to maintaining their classic, elegant style of terroir driven wines in hopes of providing the sort of divine pleasure only classic Burgundy delivers.

The 2023 Hautes Cotes de Nuits Le Mont has a fresh, juicy nose of raspberry and cherry that explodes on opening. The latest vintage of this wine is lively yet delicate on the palate, with silky, enveloping tannins. Its fleshy fruit flavors and rich structure make it an ideal accompaniment to dishes, such as beef fondue, country salad, chicken skewers with herbs or even aperitifs served with mushroom terrine canapes.

Winemaker Description 

This Pet Nat from Straka is 100% Welschriesling fermented naturally in the ancestral method. The second fermentation occurs naturally inside the bottle creating trapped CO2. Bubbles!

At a low 12% alcohol this mineral yet fruit driven expression of the main white grape of Burgenland is eminently thirst quenching. As with all the Straka wines, the farming is organic, the intervention in the cellar minimal with no additions.

The 84 year old family estate is located in the Eisenberg district of Burgenland. The Eisenberg is a unique geological area where the foothills of the Alps meet the Pannonian lowlands and is comprised of metamorphic, magmatic rock and cristal schist.

One of only 3 places in the world with this soil composition. The deep rooted vines naturally show a distinct mineral character and a compelling purity of fruit.

Combined with the attention to farming and careful hand harvesting the Straka wines are a true find. 

Expert Review - Vintage 2014

The Wine Enthusiast 90 Points by Roger Voss | This is a ripe wine, already approaching maturity. It has rich tannins and a generous structure. The wine is full with plenty of black fruits and balanced acidity. Black currants and spices mingle easily. The wine will be ready to drink from 2018. 

Winemaker Description

On the nose, the wooden, toasted, and spicy notes stand out. Ripe red fruit notes are present. On the palate, it has a frank, very round onset with a beautiful evolution towards acidity. The red fruits are present throughout the tasting, and the tannins are well blended and round. An elegant and smooth wine.

Cotes de Castillon, with its rolling steep slopes of hills and valleys created by the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, is one of the most recognized and fashionable appellations of Bordeaux with several prominent winemakers purchasing châteaux here.

Its vineyards are located east of Saint-Émilion and south of Fronsac which proves to be advantageous as it provides excellent exposure to the sun, and the climate is slightly warmer and drier than most of Bordeaux. It is devoted solely to the production of red wine, and the dominant grape varieties planted are Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

The wines are known for being concentrated, fruity, and typified by strong black currant notes. They also have a good price to quality ratio and can be enjoyed young and age just as tastefully.

Cotes de Castillon is also committed to environmentally-sound practices and sustains one of the highest concentration of growers using either organic, biodynamic, or self-sustaining farming techniques. 

Where battlefields once roared, vineyards now thrive. Cotes de Castillon is steeped in history and was actually named after the last battle ‘Castillon la Bataille’ that ended the Hundred Years’ War in 1453 between England and France.

Roman ruins, old churches, and stunning châteaux provide a colorful glimpse into the region’s rich past.

Château Moya is a certified organic estate located in the Castillon Cotes de Bordeaux appellation, next to Saint Émilion in Bordeaux, France. The 20-acre property is located on a clay-limestone hill some 230 feet above the valley floor with a stunning 360-degree panoramic view.

Its pristine vineyards are tended to by the same team managing Château Gaby, and between 30,000-40,000 bottles are produced annually since the first vintage in 2009.

Château Moya has been certified organic by ECOCERT since the 2013 vintage.

The Melon hails from the decomposed granite and limestone soils of the Chalone appellation, on a high elevation south-facing site planted in 1985 by the legendary DIck Graff. Overlooking Monterey from the east side of Salinas Valley, the site benefits from diurnal swings of warm days, cool nights, and a balanced coastal influence. This unique terroir offers excellent drainage and mineral-rich soils, ideal for producing wines of freshness, focus, and minerality. The fruit was whole-cluster pressed, settled, and transferred to concrete eggs and stainless steel for fermentation before aging for 6-months on lees in concrete eggs. The New York Times

The New York Times by Eric Asimov |  Scott and Jenny Schultz of Jolie-Laide make highly distinctive wines from grapes that are not among California's usual suspects. The trousseau gris grapes for this bottle were farmed organically and stomped by foot. The wine is lively and aromatic and will go with a wide range of savory and sweetish things. 

Winery Notes

Planted in the late 1970s, these rare, near extinct vines with massive, gnarly trunks produce unique and fascinating fruit. In return, the wine made from them is always beguilingly complex and nuanced.

Since our first Fanucchi Wood Road Trousseau Gris bottling in 2010, the wines have shown a strong structural foundation with vintage driven character. However, vine yields vary, and in 2024, Mother Nature graced us with half the fruit yielded in 2023 making this Trousseau Gris as rare as the old vines that produced it.

To preserve natural acidity, we harvested the grapes early and foot stomped them for a three day whole cluster cold soak. This gentle maceration adds subtle phenolic texture and mouthfeel, lifted aromatics, and a gorgeous rose gold hue. The now roseate juice was gently moved to a combination of neutral puncheon and stainless steel for a slow and cold native yeast fermentation. Once primary fermentation was complete, the wines were moved to neutral puncheons and barrique for a 6-month élevage to preserve freshness and aromatics.

Winery notes

Gamay is one of our favorite varieties, prized for its light, delicate, and aromatic qualities. In 2024, we blended fruit from two cherished Sonoma County vineyards that had been planted for us.

Las Cimas Vineyard, located on Sonoma’s northern edge at 800 ft elevation, features northeast facing vines rooted in Franciscan soils rich in quartz and schist. The second vineyard, in the Fountaingrove AVA, grows in well drained, iron rich volcanic soils mixed with Franciscan bedrock, known as “Sonoma Volcanics.”

After harvesting, the clusters are left whole and undergo carbonic maceration for several days followed by foot crushing and whole cluster fermentation, allowing a balance between the vibrant fruit aromatics, depth, and structure. Aged for six months in neutral barrique, preserving its freshness, complexity, and character.

Light, fresh, and utterly charming. Wild strawberry, summer herbs, savory wet earth with a crushed rock minerality throughout. 12% ABV

Winemaker Description 

With the name Bàrbara Forés, the marriage of Carmen Ferrer and Manuel Sanmartín wanted to pay tribute to their great-grandmother Bárbara Forés, who was born in Gandesa on February 7, 1828.

Bárbara Forés, the daughter of a wine merchant (Rafael Forés) and an agricultural owner (Maria Figueras), was a person of great character and had a decisive influence on her son Rafael.

Rafael Ferrer Forés, a pharmacist and illustrious winegrower, constructed the cellar of the manor house where he began bottling wine at the end of the 19th century.

Bárbara Forés, therefore, represents respect and tradition in the production of wines, passed down from generation to generation for more than a hundred years in their house.

Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022

Decanter 100 Points | The 2022 La Tâche was very impressive out of barrel; still, at the time I preferred the Romanée-Conti. I am less certain of this judgement when tasting the wines in bottle. Admittedly it is splitting hairs, but to judge what they show today, the exquisite La Tâche may have edged ahead of even the Romanée-Conti at present. It is a serious wine, substantial and structured; less open than the Richebourg and showing more savoury and spice notes than overt primary fruit, yet it is a wine that is unbelievably dense with flavour and long on the finish. 

The Wine Advocate 98 Points | The 2022 La Tâche Grand Cru is the most complex and compelling wine in the range at this early stage. Wafting from the glass with aromas of sweet red berries and plums mingled with rose petals, orange zest, exotic spices, incense and wintergreen, it's full-bodied, rich and layered, with a deep and pure core of fruit, lively acids and sweet, powdery tannins, concluding with a long, gently oak-inflected finish. It was harvested the fourth through the sixth of September, just after the Grands-Échézeaux, and bottled in March 2024.

The Wine Spectator by Bruce Sanderson 95-98 Points Barrel Sample | La Tâche exudes black cherry and licorice aromas and flavors, an altogether darker, meatier profile with greater concentration. Nonetheless, it is also refined, with a lingering aftertaste suggesting sandalwood.

Expert Reviews - Vintage 2022

Vinous 100 Points | The 2022 Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru is a real head-turner. What a wine! As is so often the case, Romanée St. Vivant is not an obvious wine, rather it is a Burgundy of detail, of understatement, of total class. The aromatics alone are mesmerizing. Silky tannins wrap around a core of red-toned fruit, mint, white pepper, blood orange and exotic spice.

Decanter 97 Points | The Romanée-St-Vivant has developed more complexity since bottling, with a savoury, almost gamey edge to the lush berry fruit aromas and a hint of spice. The grip and freshness of the wine are impressive and seem to carry this wine to a new level of intensity. Although this wine had originally seemed ethereal and silky, the substantial nature of the structure is now evident, aided perhaps by the stricter selection. Bertrand de Villaine confirms that two parcels in this vineyard were pulled up due to issues with the rootstock, leaving them 23,699 bottles in 2022.

The Wine Spectator 97 Points | Shy, suggesting cherry, strawberry and spice flavors. Nonetheless, there is plenty of structure and length.

Winemaker Description 

Located in the village of Épineuil, 20 kilometers northeast of Chablis, Dominique Gruhier has farmed his 10 hectares of vineyard as naturally as possible with respect to nature and obtained organic certification in 2016. These cool climate vineyards are composed of limestone rich Kimmeridgian soil, much the same as neighboring Chablis.

The 2023 Cuvée Juliette is elegant with delicate intensity. 

Generous aromas of strawberry and raspberry dominate the nose and develop in the mouth with expressive layers of minerals, spice and supple tannins. Perfectly balances and drinking superbly.

The Wine Enthusiast 90 Points by Elaine Chukan Brown | Juicy, fresh and mouthwatering, this flavorful and friendly red delivers flavors of red plum, mixed berries, fennel, and a touch of sweet vanilla. 

Winemaker Description 

Alta Alella is the closest winery to Barcelona, located 2 kilometres from the Mediterranean between the towns of Alella and Tiana. It is a family-run project that began in 1991 with Josep Maria Pujol-Busquets and his wife Cristina Guillen. Now the estate is headed up by their daughter, Mireia.

Alella is one of the smallest appellations in Spain yet it possesses a fascinating terroirs that the Alta Alella team have harnessed in their journey to being recognised as the premier estate in the region. All the vines are planted on slopes and terraces overlooking the Mediterranean, between 100 and 250m above sea level. One of the key elements is the Sauló soil found throughout the vineyard.

Particular to this region, Sauló is an acidic and sandy soil with a low limestone content, low organic matter and good natural water drainage – ideal for the production of clean wines with a mineral edge.

An organic rosé cava, crafted with the Traditional Method and aged on lees for a minimum of 35 months. A gentle skin maceration gives the wine its delicate color. Bearing the seal of Elaborador Integral (Integral Producer), it is made from vines rooted in ‘sauló’, a sandy granitic soil, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Mataró is the most genuine variety in Alella and it is also the name of the Capital of the Maresme area
