C.N. Kopke Porto Fine Ruby Port 375ml HALF BOTTLE
C.N. Kopke Fine Ruby Port — Half Bottle (375ml)
Founded in 1638 by a German family of the same name, Kopke is the oldest Port house in existence — a living piece of Douro history with nearly four centuries of winemaking tradition behind every bottle. Based in Vila Nova de Gaia, Kopke has long been celebrated for producing Ports of exceptional quality and character, from their entry-level Ruby to their legendary Colheitas. The Fine Ruby is the house’s approachable, crowd-pleasing expression: a young, vibrant Port aged in a combination of stainless steel and oak for a minimum of three years, blending wines of different harvests to achieve a consistent, rich, and aromatic style. Now available in a convenient 375ml half-bottle.
The grapes are hand-picked at optimum ripeness, destemmed, crushed, and carefully macerated to extract color, tannins, and aromas, before fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Grape brandy is added at the precise moment of ideal sweetness to create the final fortified wine — a process unchanged in its essentials for centuries.
Deep ruby with a garnet rim. A classic bouquet of lively young fruit — plum, bright cherry, and fresh red berries — with a delicate, harmonious balance. Firm and powerful in the mouth, with flavors of fresh fruit and a long, smooth finish. A crowd-pleasing Ruby Port with a vibrant, sweet feel.

Chateau Latour Pauillac 1959 375ml HALF BOTTLE
Expert Reviews
Wine Spectator 98 Points | Superb, but I have had an even better bottle of this wine; usually it's worth two points more. Equal in quality to the perfect 1961. Thick and rich, with berry, cherry and tobacco character, it shows layers of ripe fruit and velvety tannins that go on and on at the finish. Exciting wine. --Latour vertical. Drink now. (8/2000).
Wine Advocate 96 Points Dark garnet with an amber edge, the 1959 Latour reveals a touch of volatile acidity in the nose, along with aromas of melted caramel, tobacco, and jammy red and black fruits. As the wine sat in the glass, notes of minerals, coffee, spice, and underbrush emerged. There is still copious tannin in the finish (I am not sure it will ever be fully resolved), but this sumptuous, complex, fragrant, super-rich Latour cuts a broad swath across the palate. Fully mature, it is best consumed over the next decade. 6/2000)
