Tasting Notes: straw yellow color with clean and intense aromas of green apples, pears and citrus fruit such as lemons. Medium-bodied with a soft mouthfeel and well-integrated acidity. On the palate you can also find green apples, lemons and pears. A lovely Aperitif white wine to start off any occasion. This Chardonnay has straw color with golden highlights. Nose of pear, pineapple and acacia flowers. Fresh on the palate and medium-bodied with distinct notes of exotic fruit on the finish.

Oscar Garcia Moncada - Lead Wine Sommelier 67Wine.com | Felipe Tosso crafts a solid expression of what Carmenere should be: Focus nose of roasted red bell peppers, black olives and smoked game meat. On the palate ripe flavors of blackberries, cassis and plum combine with medium acidity. Very complete and satisfying finish. Pair with a "Lomo Salteado" peruvian style seared beef tenderloin with onions and peppers.

Vinous 93 Points | The 2021 Chardonnay Cordillera de los Andes comes from the Talinay vineyard in Limarí. 50% was aged in French barrels, 23% of them new. Yellow with a greenish sheen. The nose offers green apple notes with hints of pear, acacia, hazelnuts and a whiff of praline over a bed of oak. In the mouth it has a saline feel with a slightly creamy flow and pert freshness. A long-lasting wine.

Here the delicate color of Sauvignon appears, pale yellow notes, delicate and subtle, with greenish notes. James Suckling 100 Points | What a stunning nose of crushed berries, fresh flowers, sandalwood and light vineyard dust. Black olives, too. Very complex. Full-bodied with a beautiful, dense palate of blackberries, chocolate, walnuts and cigar box. Fantastic length and composure. The tannin just rolls over the palate. Very structured. The most classically structured wine ever from here. Goes on for minutes. Outrageous and so polished. A blend of 48% carmenere, 26% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot and 1% petit verdot. Try after 2025.

The Wine Spectator 95 Points | This features an intensely rich and fruity aroma, with concentrated flavors to match, dominated by cherry tart, raspberry and dark plum. Creamy midpalate, with a plush and spicy finish that offers hints of chocolate mint and plenty of minerality. Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Best from 2022 through 2027.

The Wine Advocate 95 Points | The 2017 Clos Apalta is the 20th vintage of this wine that was produced with a blend of 48% Carmenere, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot from organic and biodynamic certified vineyards on granite soils. It fermented with indigenous yeasts for four to five weeks, with manual punch-down of the cap, mostly in 7,500-liter French oak vats and 18% in new French barrique. Malolactic was in new French oak barrels, and the élevage lasted for 27 months in 85% new barrels and 15% second use. This is always a powerful, big and ripe wine that is regularly 15% alcohol, reflecting a warm and ripe place. The 2017 is no exception, perhaps a riper and more powerful wine than the 2016. It's still very young and marked by the élevage, with abundant balsamic aromas and notes from the wood—spice and smoke with an ashy touch. It seems quite marked by the character of the Carmenere. The tannins are quite round and polished, and the flavors are pungent and powerful. It's a full-bodied wine to age in in bottle and enjoy in its 10th birthday with powerful food.

Deep garnet in appearance, the wine reflects the intensecolor of Carmenère grapes and typical aromas of ripe fruits. An abundance of aromas, including redcurrant, raspberry andwild strawberries, reflects the stunning complexity of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère. The initial wave of berry fruits, underpinned by soft, silky tannins, is pursued by contrasting touches of black olive, blackcurrant and licorice. About the Estate One of the oldest vineyards of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenère in Chile, if not in the world, is the origin of this story. Enclaved in the Colchagua Valley, near the town of Santa Cruz, the Apalta Valley was the place selected by a visionnary near the 1915's who, using a unique french massal selection, planted this amazing vineyard. In 1994, Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband Cyril de Bournet acquired this property. True to the demands of the family, their ambition was to produce an exceptional wine and to pave the way for the qualitative development of the country's fine wines.

Clos Apalta is born in 1997 as the iconic wine of the Domaines Bournet-Lapostolle in Chile under the idea to magnify the exceptional terroir of Apalta with French expertise. Shaping the vineyard foot by foot, building a state-of-the-art gravity fed winery, the family succeeded in making Clos Apalta one of the most iconic wines in South America.

La Causa Del Itata Pais is a unique and characterful wine from Chile. The special thing about this wine is not only the taste, but also the grape variety used: Pais. The Pais Druif Pais, also known as Mission in California and Listing Prieto in Spain, is an ancient grape variety that was probably brought to South America by the Spaniards during the colonial period. It is one of the oldest grape varieties in the world and has a rich history. This grape is known for its thick shell and robust character.

The Itata Valley La Causa Del Itata Pais is from the Itata Valley in Chile. This is one of Chile’s oldest wine regions and is known for its traditional viticulture methods and old vines. The valley has a cool climate and a unique terroir that contributes to the expression of the Pais grape.

The winemakers of La Causa Del Itata Pais strive to preserve the natural expression of the Pais grape. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. The wine is vinified in a traditional way, with minimal intervention. This means that the Torres winery tries to make the wine evolve as naturally as possible, without many additions or interventions.

This wine is known for its unique taste profile. It often has aromas of red fruit, such as cherries and raspberries, as well as earthy tones and spicy spices. The Pais grape gives the wine a lively acidity and a slight tannin structure, resulting in a fresh and juicy taste.

Winemaker Description 

The bouquet is characterized by fruit and is dominated by wild berries. The wood aging in barrels with multiple occupancy is clearly evident in the nose and on the palate. The gentle tannins and the persistent aftertaste, in which the herbal finesse comes into its own, are very charismatic.

The Cinsault grapes are harvested at the optimal point of ripeness and fermented in the wine cellar in two different ways. 50% undergoes a carbonic acid maceration of the entire grapes, the other 50% traditionally for 7 days at around 24° degrees. The two base wines are then blended and aged in French oak barrels.

This dry red wine is a jack of all trades and goes perfectly with Mediterranean dishes and Mediterranean cuisine such as paella. He loves anything that is properly seasoned with herbs like thyme, oregano and rosemary. However, we would particularly recommend empanadas to you with this Chilean dish: fill these dumplings with, for example, minced meat, chorizo, fried poultry and spicy vegetables.

These ancient, own-rooted País vines are 800 meters from the Bío Bío river in a dry river bed that used to hold the river. The soil is especially unique with an alluvial top-layer over black, sandy (basaltic) soils. This is “País Franco”—as in piè franco—meaning the vine is ungrafted like most of Henriquez’s vines, but the name also draws attention to how this cuvée is one of the most honest, pure and frank versions of the variety available.
