Elk Cove Estate Pinot Gris Willamette Valley 2024 750ml
Elk Cove Estate Pinot Gris — Willamette Valley, Oregon 2024
Elk Cove Vineyards is one of Oregon’s founding and most respected estate wineries, established in 1974 in the northern Willamette Valley near Gaston. From the beginning, the Campbell family has farmed sustainably and focused on cool-climate varieties that express the unique terroir of their hillside estate vineyards — and Pinot Gris has become their most beloved white wine. Their approach is meticulous: whole-cluster pressing preserves the grape’s aromatic delicacy, followed by cool fermentation in small stainless steel tanks that protects varietal character and builds natural richness. The 2024 vintage was, by the winemaker’s own account, a dream season — well-paced with idyllic conditions for cool-climate whites, delivering concentration, complexity, and pristine fruit character.
A small but meaningful addition of 4% Gewurztraminer and 2% Muscat adds a gorgeous aromatic lift to the Pinot Gris base. The nose is understated and elegant: peach, apricot, honeysuckle, and bread dough, with a whisper of warm spice. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, textural, and savory, with gently honeyed stone fruit flavors, bright acidity, and a beautifully long, flavorful finish. Just 3.6 grams of residual sugar keep it fresh and food-friendly without tipping into sweetness.
“Understated aromas of peach, apricot, bread dough and spice. The medium-bodied palate is concentrated, textural and savory with gently honeyed flavors. Bright acidity balances 3.6 grams of residual sugar, and it has a long, flavorful finish.” — Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate, 90 pts. (Vintage 2024).
“Delicate and pretty, with floral peach, lemon and honeysuckle tones that linger.” — Wine Spectator, 89 pts. (Vintage 2024).

Day Wines Chardonnay Eola Springs Vineyard Eola Corridor 2021 750ml
Expert Review — Vintage 2021
Decanter 96 Points (Clive Pursehouse) | "Quite the Chardonnay from Brianne Day and the renowned Eola Springs Vineyard in the best Chardonnay appellation in America." Three different blocks and three different clones: Hyde Wente, Mount Eden, and Dijon 96. Captivating lemon curd aromas and rich, honeyed apricots followed by almond pastry cream — dollops of rich lemon cream, ripe peach fuzz, and rich apricot flesh.
Winemaker Notes
Brianne Day chose three blocks and three clones from the gorgeous Eola Springs Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills to get to know the site intimately. Hyde Wente and Mount Eden (California heritage clones) were picked earlier for structure and acid; Dijon 96 was picked later for stone fruit and riper character.
The result is lively, lithe, and built on a solid mineral structure with a supple, glossy mid-palate. Lemon curd, peaches, river stones, lime zest, sweet orange, honeysuckle, and a hint of pastry all come to mind.
Tasting & Pairings
Lemon curd, honeyed apricot, almond pastry cream, peach fuzz, river stones, lime zest, and honeysuckle. Lively and lithe with mineral structure and a glossy mid-palate. Serve lightly chilled.
- Lobster or crab with drawn butter — the wine’s richness and acidity are a perfect match.
- Roasted chicken with tarragon — a classic pairing for textured, mineral-driven Chardonnay.
- Aged Comté or Gruyère — nutty cheeses complement the pastry cream and stone fruit notes.

Expert Reviews · 2021 Vintage
Wine Enthusiast, Michael Alberty, 93 Points | I'm a Kansas kid, so I'm a sucker for a sunflowers. The juice inside this bottle, however, is what will make me buy it again. The Sunflower offers aromas of lemon, rosemary and a wee bit of butterscotch. A rich texture and lemon curd and brioche flavors are counterpointed by tangy acidity. Pour with The Wizard of Oz.
Vinous, Eric Guido, 92 Points | Honeyed flowers, green melon, chamomile and hints of gingery spice waft up from the 2021 Chardonnay The Sunflower. Soothingly round, this impresses with its depths of ripe pit fruits and candied citrus tones, all perfectly offset by a salty tinge of minerality. Expert Reviews
Decanter Magazine, Clive Pursehouse, 93 Points | The fleshy Chardonnay elements dominate but are brightened by Sauvignon Blanc and Melon de Bourgogne. All three varieties combine wonderfully - rich, tangy citrus aromatics with Meyer lemon pulp, clover honey and a chalky mineralogy. The palate carries the weight of Chardonnay, accented by the Melon de Bourgogne's mouthfeel and lifted by a brightness from the Sauvignon Blanc. Tropical pineapple flavors cut against tart lemon, green mangoes and a succulent mandarin pulp finish.
Wine Enthusiast, Michael Alberty | An aptly named wine given its bright acidity and dazzling aromas of lemon zest, icy tonic water and the spicy, citrusy scent of a spicebush. Chardonnay orchard fruit battles Sauvignon Blanc tropical for flavor supremacy, with earthy oregano and lemon zest shouting from the sidelines. Every sip reminds you to go play outside.
Pairing & Serving Suggestions
Try with grilled shrimp, lemon-roasted chicken, seared scallops, or a fresh goat cheese salad. Serve chilled and let it open a little in the glass to enjoy both its citrus brightness and rounded texture.

Expert Review - Vintage 2015
Paul Gregutt from the Wine Enthusiast writes 95 Points | From Draper clone vines planted in 1965, this bright gold-hued wine brings myriad details to its apple, jicama, white peach and nut oil flavors. A whiff of smoke carries throughout, and its sheer complexity strains the vocabulary. Stay with it as more subtle layers unfold. Producer & Place
The Eyrie Vineyards in the Dundee Hills carries forward the pioneering work of David Lett. His commitment to Pinot Gris helped shape a winegrowing tradition rooted in individuality and an attentive relationship with the vineyard.
Matt Kramer · The Wine Spectator / The Oregonian | “David Lett pioneered both Pinot noir and its white wine cousin, Pinot gris, the two grapes that define Oregon wine today. But just as important, he established the very tone of Oregon winegrowing: artisanal, individualistic, even idiosyncratic… You can look at Oregon’s 300-plus wineries and 17,400 acres of vines and trace it to Lett. But he left more than that. He bequeathed a uniquely Oregon ‘wine genome,’ one that others now seek to copy.”
