Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc Russian River Valley 2024 750ml
Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc — Russian River Valley 2024
Merry Edwards is one of Sonoma County's most celebrated producers, and their Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc has been a benchmark bottling since its debut in 2001. The 2024 vintage is a lush, aromatic expression fermented in French oak barrels with twice-weekly lees stirring — a meticulous protocol that builds the characteristic creamy texture and rich body the wine is known for. Sourced from a specific blend of Shenandoah (Clone 1) and Sauvignon Musqué clones, the wine brims with tropical and floral character with a bright citrus core.
The nose is fragrant and inviting: white pineapple, passionfruit, mango, guava, and plumeria with hints of lemon curd and lime zest. On the palate, apricot, peach, and slate give way to ruby red grapefruit, honeysuckle, and ripe melon, with a silky, rounded texture and a burst of crisp, refreshing acidity on the finish. Vinous gave it 92 points; Jeb Dunnuck matched that score, calling it "charming and well-detailed."
"Bright yellow/silver in color, with aromas of white peach, grapefruit pith, tropical flowers, guava, and elegant spice. Medium-bodied with a silky, rounded texture and ripe fruit filling the palate. Guava and tropical tones linger through a charming, lush finish. Drink 2026–2033." — Jeb Dunnuck, 92 pts. (Vintage 2024).

Taylor Fladgate 10 Year Tawny Port 750ml
Taylor Fladgate 10 Year Tawny Port — Douro Valley, Portugal
Taylor Fladgate is widely regarded as the benchmark producer of aged Tawny Port, and their 10 Year Old Tawny is the wine that has made that reputation. Founded in 1692 and one of the last independent Port houses, Taylor’s sources fruit from their own quinta vineyards in the Douro Valley, aging the wine in small oak casks over a decade to develop the characteristic amber-tawny color, nutty complexity, and mellow richness that defines this style at its finest. Robert Parker called Taylor’s Tawnys the best of their type — more aromatic, fruitier, riper, and better balanced than the competition. The 10 Year Old is his personal favorite.
The nose is elegant and complex: sweet berries, walnut, toffee, caramel, and dried cherry, with red tea and a whisper of singed vanilla. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with a silky, mellow texture — chocolate, toffee, and dried fruit layered with subtle oak and just enough spirit backbone to keep everything honest. The finish is long, warm, and deeply satisfying. It is bottled for immediate drinking and needs no decanting.
“It is my opinion that Taylor’s tawny ports are the best of their type — more aromatic personalities, greater fruit and ripeness, and a wonderful sweetness and length. The Ten Year Old Tawny is a personal favorite, as well as the best bargain among these ports.” — Robert Parker, 93 pts
“Beautiful sweet berries with walnut, toffee and caramel undertones on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with medium sweetness and a chocolate and toffee aftertaste. A richer style of 10-year-old and delicious. Drink now.” — James Suckling, 93 pts
“This has a nice racy edge to the mix of slightly dried red cherry and raspberry fruit, backed by red tea and singed vanilla. Shows good tension from start to finish.” — Wine Spectator, 91 pts
“A very complete aged tawny with all the right nuts and fruit characters. The style is ripe, full and sweet, a mellow wine that only hints at the spirit behind it.” — Wine Enthusiast, 90 pts

Shea Wine Cellars Estate Pinot Noir 2022 750ml
Winemaker Description
The Estate Pinot Noir is sourced from throughout Shea Vineyard, one of the most iconic vineyards in Oregon. Careful vineyard practices and restrained winemaking allow each vintage to reveal its uniqueness. The 2022 vintage finished warm and dry, allowing the fruit to achieve full ripeness and the Estate to reflect the big, concentrated style Shea Vineyard is known for.
"All Shea wines are 100% estate grown; most are single block/single clone selections. This blends grapes from the entire estate, offering a unique glimpse of the overall terroir. I’ve reviewed wines from this iconic vineyard for over two decades, and followed the estate wines almost since their first vintage. There is a special excellence that carries into Shea designates made by almost any winery. But in wines made by the estate itself there is a focus and specificity that is exceptional. Why this particular piece of land is so special is a question I’ve wondered about for years. The block and clone selections are all complete wines in and of themselves, but this estate blend captures the fullness of the whole site with black fruits, expressive oak (one third new), clean earth, barrel spice and exceptional depth." - 96 points, Paul Gregutt's Northwest Wine Guide
"This wine opens with an alluring bouquet of red and black cherries, Blood orange, walnut shells, and a hint of rosemary. The palate is supple and refined, with a medium body and a lively mouthfeel that keeps it moving and refreshing. As the wine unfolds, a subtle dried herb undertone emerges, adding an extra layer of complexity to the finish." - 94 points, International Wine Report
"Attractive nose with sour cherries, dried orange peel and dried herbs. So delicate and pure, with a medium body and zesty, tangy mouthfeel. It has a fresh, minty undertone at the end." - 93 points, jamessuckling.com

Bertani Amarone Della Valpolicella 2011 750ml
The Benchmark of Amarone — Bertani's 2011 Della Valpolicella
Bertani and Amarone are nearly synonymous — the estate's 150+ year history in the Veneto is so intertwined with this iconic appellation that one cannot speak of great Amarone without invoking the Bertani name. Their Amarone is a wine of uncompromising elegance rather than brute power, built for the long haul and rewarding patience with extraordinary complexity. Expert Reviews - Vintage 2011
- James Suckling — 97 pts: "Density and dryness that really comes together here, after almost 10 years in bottle. Very deep and vertical on the palate. Very pure and beautiful crushed cherries, dried flowers, carbon and pumice. Wonderful all round. Drink or hold."
- Decanter (Aldo Fiordelli) — 94 pts: "One of the most classic Amarones, which has never changed its elegant rather than powerful style. Bright garnet in the glass, dominated by leather, earthy tones and restrained raspberry fruit. Fresh character with hints of citrus, slightly oxidative flavours and a Modica salted-chocolate finish. Full and firm, with outstanding balance between suppleness and structure. Drinking 2021–2047."
- Wine Spectator (Alison Napjus) — 91 pts: "A poised red, expanding slowly on the palate, with fine, creamy tannins enmeshed with black cherry coulis, black plum reduction, iron, dark chocolate and tobacco notes. Fresh and focused, with a lasting, spiced finish. Drink now through 2031."

Masi Campofiorin Ripasso Rosso del Veronese 2023 750ml
Masi Campofiorin Ripasso — Rosso del Veronese, Veneto, Italy 2023
Masi Agricola is one of Italy’s most historic wine estates — a family winery whose roots stretch back to 1772, when the Boscaini family first harvested in the prized vineyards of Vajo dei Masi in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. Born in 1964, Campofiorin is Masi’s original “Super-Venetian” — internationally recognized as the creator of a new category of Veneto wines inspired by the Amarone ripasso technique, and described by Burton Anderson as “a wine of stupendous size and complexity.” The 2023 is crafted from Corvina and complementary varietals, with delayed harvest and an increased percentage of dried grapes to achieve an even more harmonious, full-bodied, and integrally fruity expression. The result is a rich, smooth, and velvety red that combines simplicity and grace with strength and majesty — and overdelivers at its price point.
The nose is warm and inviting: ripe cherries, sweet spices, and berry fruit with a depth that signals the influence of the ripasso technique. On the palate, the wine is rich and full-bodied with intense cherry and berry fruit, soft tannins, good length, and a smooth, lingering finish. It is versatile, crowd-pleasing, and deeply satisfying — the kind of Veneto classic that works from aperitivo to serious dinner with equal ease.
"Rich, smooth and velvety, yet approachable and versatile at table. Marrying simplicity and grace with strength and majesty. Born in 1964, Campofiorin is one of the world’s best-loved traditional Italian classics, internationally recognised as a ‘wine of stupendous size and complexity’ — the creator of a new category of Veneto wines inspired by the Amarone technique." — Masi Agricola

Overture by Opus One Napa Valley Red 2022 750ml
Expert Review - Vintage 2022
Decanter 94 Points | Gorgeous Cabernet aromas, clear and crystalline, some herbal notes with a cool blueberry and chalky element. Rose scents, dark cherries and cinnamon bark. Full and expressive, warming tones but great acidity that gives such lift. Lovely purity and drive, this has a great sense of confidence - nothing overdone, really pristine and finessed. If anything it’s not super heavy, but it’s the better for it. You get the Napa richness in the fruit concentration but it’s so well defined and still with a graceful power. Yum. 0.5% Petit Verdot completes the blend.
Winemaker Description
Since 1993, Overture has been an expression of place across time. In keeping with an internal desire to underscore the importance of the growing season, Opus One has taken the necessary steps for Overture to become a vintage-dated wine. In doing so, Opus One intends to emphasize the diversity of our estate with a renewed focus.
Over the years our winemaker, Michael Silacci, and his team have come to deeply understand the individual blocks within the vineyards. Farming practices may then be adjusted at the block level to enable the vines to fully capture the quality of the estate. The majority of our vineyards are planted in alluvial soils in the extreme western part of the Oakville, AVA, at the foot of the Mayacamas mountains.
The fruit is harvested and vinified with the same care, precision, and attention to detail as Opus One. Unique aromatics, flavors, and textures are recognized as ideal for Overture — more red fruit, herbal characteristics, soft tannins, and creamy texture.

Wine Advocate 92 Points | This is a large production of 85,000 bottles that sources its fruit from various plots planted in 2004 and 2007 at 600 meters in elevation on terraces made with volcanic rocks. The Tenuta Tascante 2022 Etna Rosso Ghiaia Nera offers focused fruit aromas of redcurrant and cranberry. The wine shows a dark ruby color and medium texture. Its informal personality would match a plate of home-cooked pasta or a wood-oven pizza.

Expert Reviews - Vintage 2021
- Decanter — 96 pts: "Delightful, extra juicy red and black fruits give graciously and generously with a mouth-filling texture and soft, silky tannins. The coolness of the Sonoma Coast takes the salty sea air and places it squarely on the grapes to give this wine a lovely saline finish. The great structural envelope will protect this wine for the future. It will last and last."
- Wine Spectator — 93 pts: "Fresh and lively, raspberry and mulberry coulis with a mouthwatering savory edge. Textbook vintage and AVA profile. Drink now through 2031."
- Wine Advocate — 90 pts: "Aromas of red and black cherries, mint, forest floor and allspice. Generous, spicy fruit with grainy tannins and juicy acidity."

Azores Wine Company Isabella a Proibida 2019 750ml
Winemaker Description
Rescuing and resistant, Queen Isabella has ensured since the attack of phylloxera, in the 19th century, the continuation of vineyards and wine on the islands until the present day. For many...it's not part of the customs.
This "Isabella" the Forbidden, highlights the history of the last 200 years, in an elegant, aromatic, authentic and...simple wine, like all that is good!
A fresh, elegant, spicy and saline red like few others. Ideal partner for grilled and seasoned red meat dishes. Signature of the winemaker António Maçanita.
An Isabella Forbidden and super appetizing.... Another great wine from the Azores Wine Company!
