Wine Advocate · 93 Points: Presented in its uniquely curvaceous bottle, the Travaglini 2022 Gattinara opens to a beautiful bouquet of rose petal, lilac and wild cherry that immediately sets an elegant and finely nuanced tone. Fermented in stainless steel and aged for 30 months in oak, followed by three months in bottle, the wine caresses the senses with the grace of Nebbiolo married to the precision and mineral definition that come from Gattinara's ancient volcanic soils. There is lovely harmony throughout, making this historic label a timeless benchmark for northern Italian Nebbiolo.
Wine Spectator · 91 Points: This is bright, with a crisp edge to its tart cherry, strawberry, rose hip and mineral flavors. Chalky tannins are present but integrated, with a lingering, iron-tinged aftertaste. Best from 2027 through 2039.

"Complex wine where the graceful aromas of sweet violets and pomegranates are allied to smoky woodland, licorice root and a whiff of cocoa powder. Firm on the palate, with a full body, dusty yet ripe tannins and long, crisp acidity. This 2020 is powerful and not without grace. It will improve further with bottle aging. Best after five to 10 years."
James Suckling - 95 Points
"The 2020 Gattinara is a very pretty wine in the classically austere style that is such a signature here. Crushed red berry fruit, orange peel, mint and rose petal lend lovely complexity throughout. This is beautifully done, not to mention a real charmer."
Antonio Galloni - Vinous Media - 92 Points
"This classic Gattinara opens with aromas of dried sour cherries, rosebud, sweet and savory spices and a hint of dried herbs. Well-balanced between savory and fruity elements, the wine’s mouthwatering acidity and fine tannins build the framework for the wine to be enjoyable today and into the future."
