Producer & Mountain Terroir
Established in 1995 by Jess Stonestreet Jackson and Barbara Banke, Stonestreet Estate Vineyards explores the rugged eastern highlands overlooking Alexander Valley. Christopher and Ariel Jackson continue the family's stewardship, working with a mosaic of mountain vineyard sites while leaving much of the property unplanted and wild.
The Estate Cabernet Sauvignon expresses a mountain site ranging from 400 to 2,000 feet in elevation. Varied slopes, exposures and soils contribute to its layered character. The 2021 blend includes 1% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot and matured for 17 months in French oak, 41% new, as detailed in the Wine Advocate review.

Jeb Dunnuck · 93 Points. The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a deep opaque red hue and delivers aromas of blackcurrants, leather, baking spice, nutmeg, and walnut. Full-bodied, fleshy, and ripe, it’s already drinking beautifully today, with impressive depth and richness, though there is a touch of baked fruit for my palate. Scheduled for release this fall. Drink 2026-2040.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate · 93 Points. The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate was blended with 1% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot and matured for 17 months in 41% new French oak. It has pure, inviting aromas of blackcurrant and cherry, licorice and violet, cigars and graphite. The full-bodied palate is concentrated and expressive with detailed flavors. It’s framed by silky tannins, and bright freshness calls you in for another sip on the long finish.

Expert Reviews - Prior Vintages 2019, 2018
JamesSuckling.com by Ryan Montgomery writes 93 Points | Bright purple fruit with lifted notes of bramble berries, violets and bergamot. The palate is full-bodied with chewy tannins, a lush mouthfeel, fine acidity and notes of dark plums, cocoa, sage and red peppercorns. A blend of multiple blocks made up of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon with smaill amounts of petit verdot, merlot and malbec. Drink or hold. (Vintage 2019).
JebDunnuck.com by Audrey Frick writes 92 Points | Inky black/purple-hued, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is expressive, leaping from the glass with its packed aromas of wood spices, toasted cedar, preserved blackberries, and resinous tobacco. Full-bodied, it reveals a sanguine, iron-rich mineral profile that’s forward on the palate, with mouthwatering tension, ripe tannins, and good balance on the finish. It’s a very appealing wine that’s starting to drink well now. Drink 2024-2034. (Vintage 2019).
"The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is blended with 1.5% Petit Verdot and matured for 20 months in 35% new oak. It's bursting with gregarious blackcurrant, blueberry, mint chocolate and lilac plus touches of cigar ash, licorice and coffee beans. The medium-bodied palate is light on its feet despite its deep core of perfumed fruit, with a frame of grainy tannins and juicy acidity that calls you in for another sip. This is wonderfully easy to drink despite offering plenty of complexity." Wine Advocate - 94 points. (Vintage 2018).
