Aged in 40% new oak (almost entirely French, although there is a small Hungarian component), it marries notes of cedar and dried spices with ripe cherries. It's medium to full-bodied, silky textured and open-knit, not hugely rich or concentrated, just a nice, balanced effort to drink over the next decade."

Upon opening, concentrated aromas of blackberry and dark plum fill the nose. The palate is full-bodied with flavors of dark cherry, boysenberry, and a hint of tobacco. Well-balanced and structured with lingering notes of toasted oak on the long finish.
