One of the great Champagne houses — family-owned, Épernay-based, and fiercely independent since 1849. Pol Roger is the house that Sir Winston Churchill declared his favorite Champagne, drinking it daily and famously quipping that he could not live without it. The house’s hallmarks are finesse, elegance, and a fine, persistent mousse that sets the standard among the Grandes Marques.
The 2018 Brut Vintage is a wine of the sun — a warm, generous harvest that began on August 20th, one of Champagne’s earliest on record. Sourced exclusively from Premier Cru and Grand Cru villages, aged 6 years on the lees, and disgorged in March 2024 with a dosage of 7–8 grams per liter. The result is a Vintage Champagne of remarkable depth, approachability, and cellaring potential through 2035+.
Critical Acclaim
Jeb Dunnuck — 94 Points
“Springy and dewy floral aromas of honeydew melon, fresh flowers, citrus blossoms, and pastry dough. Medium-bodied and inviting, with a refined mousse and a kiss of sunny feel on the finish. All its components move seamlessly through the palate. Drink over the coming 15 or so years.”
James Suckling — 94 Points
“Berry fruit aromas mingling with bread crust, grapefruit and lemon pastries. Lively on the palate with excellent structure and a bright wild-berry character. Clean and nicely focused.”
Vinous — 93 Points
“Absolutely delicious. Floral and citrus notes give the 2018 lovely aromatic lift. A classy, polished Vintage Champagne marked by notable brightness. Airy, elegant and silky in feel.”
Wine Advocate — 93 Points
“Generous and expressive. Pear, peach, orange zest and pastry on the nose. Full-bodied, muscular and textural on the palate with a core of rich, sweet fruit supported by succulent yet vibrant acidity. Long, enveloping finish.”
Wine Spectator — 93 Points
“Sleek, mineral-driven with a lacy mousse and smoky underpinning. Meyer lemon peel acidity driving nectarine, macerated raspberry, saffron and crystallized honey, plus toasted brioche. Long and lively. Drink now through 2035.”
