About the Wine
Matthieu Barret is one of the Northern Rhône’s most celebrated winemakers, based at Domaine du Coulet in Cornas. His passion for savory, terroir-driven Syrah led him south to a vineyard in the village of Visan, planted exclusively to Syrah and farmed organically and biodynamically. The Petit Ours (“Little Bear”) — named for Matthieu’s own nickname — is his everyday expression: all the character and philosophy of Domaine du Coulet at an accessible price point.
Food Pairing
Excellent with grilled lamb, charcuterie, roasted duck, herb-crusted pork, and hard cheeses. Serve slightly cool at 16–18°C.
