The Double Cask 15 Years Old brings together two distinct oak traditions in perfect harmony — sherry seasoned American oak, which imparts delicate vanilla and sweetness, and sherry seasoned European oak, which contributes subtle spice and depth. The result is a whisky of remarkable balance: sweeter and warmer than many Speyside expressions, yet layered with complexity that rewards every sip.
Golden butterscotch in color, the nose opens with dried fruit, toffee, and vanilla, complemented by smooth oak and baked apple, with notes of honey and chocolate. On the palate, sweet raisin and sultana build with hints of vanilla, wood spice, and citrus. The finish is warm and lingering — ginger turning to caramel and citrus, with a creamy, mouth-coating texture that is unmistakably Macallan.
