The Wine Spectator 94 Points | Dynamic and precise, this features a core of steely acidity that frames expressive flavors of raspberry and guava, laced with crushed stone, forest floor and dusky spice notes that gather tension and richness toward fine-grained tannins.
94 James Suckling | The nose is pure and focused, showing aromas of redcurrants, wild raspberries and orange rind. The palate is medium-bodied with finely integrated tannins and acidity, giving notes of cherry, potpourri, struck match and forest floor. Tightly wound with years of aging ahead.
Winemaker Description
Avni 2022 Pinot Noir is focused and flavorful, yet harmonious and balanced, with an overlying elegance and velvety mouthfeel. Red fruits dominate the flavor profile with some black cherry, spice, black tea, fresh herbs, and a hint of black cherry, tar and rose petal, finishing with a round texture.
It is versatile, pairing well with hot smoked salmon and roasted poultry, even grilled meats.

Expert Reviews - Prior Vintage 2021
Audrey Frick writes: A ripe ruby hue, the 2021 Pinot Noir Avni has a pure and pristine character, with aromas of red cherry lozenge, fresh wild herbs, and red floral perfume. Medium-bodied and charming, with an elegant structure and gorgeous fresh fruit, it’s delicious out of the gate. Offering ripe tannins and a graceful feel, it’s all about purity and freshness with this wine. A terrific value, it could be a great lens into the style of this estate and is a textbook example of the wines of the Willamette Valley. Drink 2023-2030. - Jeb Dunnuck 94
Tim Fish writes: Elegant yet dynamic, this multilayered red reveals detailed cherry and red plum flavors that are laced with savory forest floor and mineral flavors, which build intensity toward polished tannins. Drink now through 2031. - Wine Spectator 94
Clive Pursehouse writes: From upper blocks and rocky soils of red clay and basalt. Reductive upon opening, but the smoky flint aromatics make way for floral notes and deep savoury aromas. The palate shows depth of fruit; it's rich but leans into umami and soy flavours; savouriness is the calling card for this wine. Candied blood orange peel, fresh fig, and a slight hint of thyme carry the finish. Drinking 2023 - 2033 - Decanter 93
