Leone de Castris Villa Santera Primitivo di Manduria 2023 is a full-bodied, velvety red from Puglia, Italy. Deep plum and black cherry aromas meet ginger and vanilla spice, leading to a generous yet well-balanced palate.
Leone de Castris traces its roots to 1665, when Oronzo Arcangelo of the Counts of Lemos founded the cellar in Salice Salentino, where it remains today. Vineyards and olive groves established around the village became part of a winegrowing tradition spanning more than three centuries in Puglia.

Leone de Castris Very deep red in color turning almost purplish. The nose reveals a rich perfume of plum, black cherry and also spices as ginger and vanilla.
On the palate it is full bodied and velvety and well balanced. Enjoy with grilled meats, baked pasta or pasta with hearty sauces, and ripe cheeses.

"Juniper berries, grilled herbs, liquorice and walnuts frame the sweet bramble fruits at the core of this refined Primitivo. Smooth and pliant, but by no means overdone, it's cheek-puckering savoury elements and assertive tannins add to its sense of poise. Blackcurrant and dark chocolate linger on a velvety finish. Drink 2023-2030."
